BoonBoom Champion Trailer / BoonBoomRobo Champion
Honestly? Not as cool as 119. I mean, Leo has an alternate mode, a more interesting combination, can unlock attack modes. Champion Trailer just doesn't do as much, having two variations on the same vehicle mode, and shoving the cab inside Boomer isn't very satisfying. It's still a decent upgrade, but I feel like the two of them should have had their releases swapped.
The Good: The cab is its own transformation item, which you can mess with on its own, and is pretty cute. You can also still use it in robot mode and has unique sounds for it. It's simple, but it's fun to mess with for a few minutes.
Trailer is also very aesthetically pleasing, with the tires matching up with the face plates for the Rangers, and having them all lined up in the final robot mode is very cool.
Boomer also maintains the same number of ports for customization as in its default and 119 forms, so you can still very much mess with him.
The Bad: Unlike with 119, the arms actually lose outward posability here because of how the shoulders work. The face also misaligns itself if you move it around at all. Getting the cab inside of Boomer is not hard, but a little annoying since you have to pull Boomer apart, and his back tassels like to fall off when you do it.
Also, BoonBoom Water is pretty disappointing. It's just a translucent repaint of PatoCar 2, and it doesn't even do its intended gimmick well. It's supposed to plug into the shoulders and form cannons, but they're very loose and because the guns are slightly different they sit at noticeably different angles.
Overall, not bad, but the last super mode was better, which reflects poorly on this one. I would recommend it if you want to mess with the customization gimmick or if you like the team aesthetic, but it's not going to blow you out of the water. No pun intended.

Me: So Chasshiro and Taiya. Which wedding cakes did you like? Lilo's large cube cake from Lilo and Stitch. The Bundorio Trailer Cake? Taiya's Car Cake? This Ichigo and Nigo Head Cake? Big Fat Meanie with the Tsukasa Face Cake? Victory BoonBoom Robo face Cake? Or... *reveals the last cake* This 3-layer cake with 4 circular 2-layer cakes on the side that all have your Boonboomger face on it. Genba: Did you just waste a lot of flour? Me: No! These are realistic faux cakes. Like the food display you see here in Japan. Jou: Ooooh... I thought they were real. Me: No. Plus they are not sweet like American cakes. *turns back to the bride and groom* So which one? The last one has different flavors for each cake.
Byun-D: THE LAST ONE! Shirabe: Pick the Bundorio Trailer Cake! Bundorio: All look appealing.
The rest of BoonBoomger's reactions?
...that's a lot of cake

-BoonBoomGer Robo is a "simple transformation" from Trailer mecha to Robo. Has a "Base Mode" of sorts where the BoonBoomGer's cars can be stored, and for "Gattai Mode" utilizes an automatic transformation where the cars become its head and arms.
-The ranger suit helmets are tires
-BoonBoomGer Robo is similar to LupinKaizer/PatKaizer from Lupat. Trailer mecha is the core/main body.
-Base Form: stores the individual Ranger’s BoonBoom Cars
-Trailer Form: can be wheeled around
-Robot Form: due to the transformation gimmick it is less articulated than the recent robos and feels more traditional. Transformation into the gattai is automatic; it’s not electronic; a certain mechanism is touch-activated and it transforms. The BoonBoomGer personal vehicles form the head and arms (hands?)

Oh that's really cool! Thank you for telling me about this!
I had heard the engine rev sound first since this Boonboomger trailer had a rev noise that sounded exactly like "Boonboom" (25 seconds in).
youtube
Were any of y'all gonna tell me that the "BoonBoom" onomatopoeia that the Boonboomgers get their name from is not just the sound for a car revving its engine, but that it can also represent a heartbeat?

BoonBoom Killer Robo
I wanna say this may be the last release from BoonBoomger? But they also designed a Killer version of BoonBoom Classic that definitely feels like it's supposed to be a toy. Even though we've hit the final arc of the show, it'd be cool if we got one or two new Killer Versions and they released Killer Classic along with those as a set. I think it's possible since they revealed the Japanese government was developing more BBKRs. I'm not expecting a Killer Leo or anything (though that would be cool), but maybe Dozer and Safari for more weapon options. Maybe a new head. Who know.
This is essentially the same as standard BoonBoom Robo. There are a few sculpted differences, like the tires and head on Trailer, Off-Road's drill, Wagon's fingers. The Police remold (which did not come with this set; it was a movie ticket preorder bonus) has quite a few remolded parts, like Itacha on the lightbar, an entire new front cab, and a new spike trap that accommodates the sticker.
The front of Trailer is also a new piece, clipping on so you can also attach it to BoonBoom Robo. That paint is also well utilized, really being used to bring out the differences between the two. However...
While the paint is well utilized, this is another instance of a premium piece having less paint. Moreover, it's basically all orange, so there're also less colors. There're also strange color instances because of the plastic, like the split colors on the face or the arms that do distract.
There's also the BoonBoom Danger. It's a nice remold, but it only has, like, two car sounds. It's mostly just plays sound clips from the villains if you keep pressing the button. They come in the same order every time, and there are a lot of them, but if there was a version that was $10 cheaper and didn't come with this, I would have taken it.
Overall, a fun remold, but definitely not essential.

BoonBoom Robo
Two episodes in. Fun season. Definitely feels... less than Kingohger, but I don't want that to make it sound bad. Kingohger was very grand out the gate, had a lot more seriousness going on. BoonBoom in comparison is a lot more silly, feels a lot more kid targeted. And I feel like this toy reflects that, being much more oriented around its gimmick than being a cool, posable robot.
The Good: I saw quite a lot of discourse about BoonBoom Robo losing the posability of the previous two seasons, but it's still a fun toy. While it doesn't have nearly as much as King-Ohger, it does have universal shoulders and forward and backward legs. On top of that, the toy is balanced so that if you move one of the legs a click in either direction, it remains perfectly balanced.
BoonBoom Trailer also has a really fun transformation. Gate Mode isn't anything spectacular, but the number of satisfying motions to get to Robot Mode are a lot of fun. Though, the Gate Mode is interesting, having the entire bottom of the vehicle slide through to accomplish it.
It also comes with a set of odd accessories. The first is an alternate face so you can display BoonBoom in its civilian-sized form, and the second is replacement neck for the alternate faces the other auxiliary vehicles come with. And you can combine them for both storage and they kinda look like a little guy.
The Bad: Yes, not very posable, I get it, it's not an issue for me, but I am slightly remiss about the lack of elbows. Feels like it could have had them. Also, Blue and Pink feel very lightweight for Sentai toys. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as it means it won't stress the arms over time, but it does feel weird. Exposed mushroom pegs where the hubcaps are supposed to be doesn't help with that cheaper feeling, either. That never looks good.
Muscle Car and Muscle Car SP: I did also get a few of the early-release bonus stuff. I enjoyed assembling and stickering the Muscle Cars, but their transformations are manual, and they're very skippable. I can't be upset, because one was free and the other was very cheap, but don't go out of your way to get them.
BoonBoom Trailer (Televi-kun Clear Version): This one on the other hand is very skippable. No transformation, no gimmick. I guess it's kinda neat to have BoonBoom wield BoonBoom, but I don't think it's worth pursuing on the aftermarket.
Overall, BoomBoon Trailer/Robo is a very fun toy, despite the lack of posability, but the other vehicles range from just ok to not great. I've got the other auxiliary vehicles coming in the next month or so, and I hope they feel a bit better than the ones I've handled so far.
