19. A song that gets you through shit

So this gets me through shit mostly because of context. I first heard of it on the official Narbonic playlist in the author’s commentary, and what she’d said about it was that it makes them think of one of the characters— specifically, of a sort of mental movie scene she had of him climbing into a rocket and flying up to his moon base, with the song playing all the while. So it gives me a feeling of nostalgia and escape, despite that relating not at all to what the song is about.

This might just be totally off the mark but I think at least one factor in how uber powerful a lot of big mainstream rpgs (particularly Bethany Esda ones) make your character is like a pendulum swing from the days of older CRPGS like System Shock or the first Fallout when if you fucked up in character creation or skill points you'd find yourself unable to progress at some random point. Its definitely got a lot to do with mass market appeal and simplification too, though

I CAN CHANGE - LCD Soundsystem: GOD this song. LCD Soundsystem’s use of synth is absurd.
