Two posts in a day!! I go on a mini Insta break and then you get two posts?? 😂 Here’s another book haul and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Islands of Abandonment came to my attention via the gorgeous @sandladysbooks who is becoming quite a dear friend here on IG. It’s a nonfiction book about abandoned places when nature is allowed to reclaim its place. From Tanzanian mountains to the volcanic Caribbean, the forbidden areas of France to the mining regions of Scotland, Flyn brings together some of the most desolate, eerie, ravaged and polluted areas in the world and shows how against all odds, they offer our best opportunities for environmental recovery. The Divines is a book I’ve had my eye on since it was in hardback. It’s set in a girls boarding school (which might be a bit triggering for me but we’ll go with it! 😂) and explores the intoxicating and destructive relationships between teenage girls. Finally, Tomorrow Sex Will Be Good Again: Women and Desire In The Age Of Consent. Looks feminist, educational, important and I’m excited to read it!
