"Broken Bonds: How to Divorce an Abuser and Heal" by Rosemary Lombardo is full of actionable tips to help women wade through the divorce process. Whether you are dealing with an abusive relationship or not, this book can be a great help. The other 3 books on this list are super helpful for everyone, whether you are dealing with a divorce or not. "Our Wonderful You" is a beautiful book that celebrates this journey by @kealyconnorlonning and Lora Look. 📖 This sweet story follows a small family as the parents watch their child grow from precious newborn to curious child to independent adult. Along the way, they share their favorite memories and the strong love that they felt. In the end, they send their beloved child out into the world with all of the love and support he will need to follow his dreams. 💕 The rhyming text has a soothing flow to it, making this a great one to read to little ones at bedtime. The strong theme of love and support also makes it a great one for sharing with older kids, especially as they start to take their first independent steps into the world! 🌎 The illustrations are vivid and striking, with fun details hidden throughout. But the best surprise is the group of family photos at the end of the story which were used to create the illustrations within. There is even a note at the end of the book that the author wrote to her son, who inspired her to write the book. Mother's Day is just around the corner! I love sharing books with my daughter that express my love to her, so for this Mother's Day, I decided to gather up a list of books that share the power of a mother's love. #ad "My Mom is There" by Martin Thomas & Ag Jatkowska (@skyhorsepub ) is at the top of the list because it is such an adorable and heartwarming new book. I loved it as soon as I read it, it has quickly become one of my daughter's favorites, and it made my mom cry when I gave it to her to read through. This adorable book is told through a child's voice and is illustrated with colorful illustrations of a mother and child elephant as they go about their day together. The little elephant shares the many things that he cannot do yet, and talks about the things he would do if he could. But he realizes that as he learns and grows, his mom is always there. There is a page that especially tugged at my heartstrings. The child says that he would sleep through the night if he could, but for now they will share the late nights together. It really hit home for me and made me look at our late night wakeups as moments to treasure. Sometimes the moments that we get easily frustrated by are moments that kids can see as wonderful times together.
