YouTube. I didn't see scenes from the actual full movie because there is only a limited amount of content available; I just saw a handful of scenes from the movie trailer and two clips. These scenes were enough to realize that the snurks are tiny people.

The Snurks are Ed, Edd and Eddy.

Boo, Zino & the Snurks (2004)

In the fictional world of Gaya, a mysterious portal opens up and snatches the world’s power source. Only a few heroes and villains can travel to the human world to recover it.

 There were a few scenes in which mild amusement could be found in this narrative, these would be the rare parts when the comedy followed the correct patterns, specifically the popcorn scene. Besides that there was decent design involved with many of the characters, even if the animation doesn’t really do them a great deal of justice.

 The main downside of the film had to be the condescending way that it talks down to the audience. It could really only be enjoyed properly by infants because everything is predictable and follows the structure of many other unremarkable films aimed at children. Also whenever anything does happen, the dialogue laboriously points out what it was and what possible implications it could have, every single time.

 The thing that grasped my interest in the film to start with was the fact that Patrick Stewart was one of the voices but he’s used so poorly in the film that it was almost misleading to put his name to it. He gets one line roughly every three or four scenes but his character basically has nothing to say and merely observes most of the action in the film, most of the time not even offering comment on it.

 It wasn’t a terribly bright idea to make one of the characters adored for being unintelligent because it sends a terrible message to the audience by glorifying ignorance and that character’s friend who is clever spends the entire film sulking and moaning which reinforces the effect. The main message in the story was that free-will is a valuable thing but really they didn’t achieve it at all. The undeserving hero was still praised for doing nothing, the scared character was still scared, and the bad guys didn’t really change either since they only did the right thing for the fame and glory. Also by fighting the way they did and defeating the villain, they still conformed to the same structure they were imprisoned in on their own world.

How did you get in the gojira Fandom?

Well watching KOTM was a first step. Godzilla 1998 is one of my favorite childhood movies (along with the Jurassic Park trilogy and “ Boo, Zino & the Snurks “ for some freaking reason??) and watching KOTM got me thinking and being interested in kaijus again after what... 10 year??

But the real kicker was two months later when I was working on a fan Godzilla poster for an upcomming con. That meant looking up reference images which a) reminded me of how much I enjoyed the movie and b) were often linked to interesting tumblr posts with theories and headcanons. Those lead to fanarts. Which lead to ship art. Which lead to me thinking “hey Rodan and Ghidorah are kinda cute together, lemme look up more eye candy!”.

And then I started making fanart of my own and BOOM, here I am! Thanks to Rodorah, of all things.

Oh yeah, you're right! The Snurks' designs are literally the Eds! How did you see this movie as a teenager? The movie looks like one of those underground movies you find on the DVD shelf.

Well, only as “literally” as the appearance of the three girls from “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!”, which is not at all. What’s underground in America is easily accessible in other countries. It was being sold in physical stores here. My mother used to have a habit of buying random bargain bin movies, so it must’ve been a real cheap DVD.

I had no idea who Zeck was, so I looked up Back to Gaya or Boo, Zino & the Snurks, whatever. Ok, so he is a cute blue hair elf-looking guy, but I don't see how Marie could dominate... *see scenes from the movie*. Oh, now I know what you mean.

Where did you even find scenes of this movie, I only have my 17 year old memories to refer back to.
