Why is a small village in Scotland the UK’s UFO hotspot?
Aurora, Texas. Roswell, New Mexico. Bonnybridge? It might not be the first location that jumps to mind when you’re thinking about UFO sightings, but the small town of Bonnybridge in the Lowlands of Scotland can boast one of the busiest calendars for UFO sightings in the world. With nearly 300 UFO sightings reported every year over the past three decades, Bonnybridge has been nicknamed the UFO capital of Scotland. But what is it about this sleepy town makes it so prone to unidentified flying objects?

Bonnybridge, a serene Scottish village, has catapulted to fame as one of the globe's leading UFO hotspots, boasting some 300 sightings each year—notably outpacing well-known extraterrestrial haunts like Area 51 or Roswell. Nestled within what's been aptly named the Falkirk Triangle and often referred to as Scotland's own Roswell, this location is awash with eerie tales

happy birthday dolly the sheep!
#551: the national UFO reporting center (its in america, hence the begrudging spelling) was set up in 1974 by some guy called Gribble and has processed over 150,000 reports of UFO sightings. about 10% of those are from the UK. (apparently. who knows if you can trust these people.) oh and the best place to spot a UFO in the UK is in Bonnybridge in scotland. a small town of less than 10k residents, it gets around 300 sightings a year! (i bet theyre all by the same person lol)
rather disappointingly, bonnybridge is in the "Faulkirk Triangle": an area encapsulated by three major flightpaths, including the traffic for scotlands biggest two airports.
its also near a place called banknock. do you pronounce the first K? who knows

Life in Walkdown - Rough Castle
Another in my Life in Walkdown series of blog posts - this time featuring Rough Castle in Bonnybridge
Autumn at Rough Castle, Bonnybridge During much of the past twelve months we have been limited to travelling in our own local authority area, and at some points during that period, been told to stay as close to home as possible. As a result, most of my walking in that time has been done in places that I have also had to reach on foot. I have called this time ‘walkdown (short for ‘walking in…

Saltire on Cowden Hill, Bonnybridge.
Saw this today and I'm not sure why there is a flag on the hill here above Bonnybridge, near Falkirk, it sits on a trig point, but other than that there is no info online that I can find. Looks great though, doesn't it!
