⚰️    ――――       EVERYTHING  HAS  BEEN  EXTREMELY  STRESSFUL  AND  FULL  OF  PRESSURE  AS  OF  LATE.  with  klaus  coming  into  town  to  exact  a  ritual  that  would  ultimately  result  in  elena's  demise  and  who  knows  who  else's,  bonnie  seemed  to  be  their  only  hope.  it  was  a  big  expectation  of  the  witch,  considering  she  was  still  learning  all  about  her  powers  and  how  to  exactly  control  of  them,  but  she  was  determined  to  be  the  person  to  stop  this  from  happening.  naturally,  bonnie  was  consumed  with  fear  that  she  wouldn't  be  able  to  pull  this  off;  all  her  doubts  about  being  a  witch  were  surfacing  and  she  wasn't  sure  what  else  she  could  do  to  prepare  herself.  she  had  been  studying  day  in  and  day  out,  talking  to  deceased  witches  and  practicing  as  much  as  she  was  able  to,  given  her  powers  had  a  limit  to  them.  she  couldn't  give  up,  though,  her  friends'  lives  were  at  stake;  she  wouldn't.

EVEN  THOUGH  BONNIE  WAS  AFRAID  OF  THE  DREADFUL  NIGHT  THAT  LOOMED  OVER  MYSTIC  FALLS,  SHE  STILL  PERSEVERED.  she  could  give  a  lot  of  that  credit  to @dynastymuses;  he  has  been  her  rock  throughout  this  wild  ordeal  that  they  were  thrusted  into  and  she  couldn't  be  more  thankful  for  that.  as  bonnie  continued  to  attempt  a  certain  power  regenerating  spell,  she  began  to  grow  frustrated  and  she  threw  up  her  hands  as  a  gesture  of  it.        “      it's  pointless,  i  don't  know  what  i'm  doing  wrong       ”      she  stated,  sighing  deeply.  she  avoided  eye  contact  with  jeremy  until  he  grabbed  her  face  and  forced  contact  upon  her.  she  wanted  to  tear  her  face  away  and  give  up  entirely  but  the  look  in  his  eyes  gave  her  a  glimmer  of  hope  that  she  thought  was  long  gone.  he  was  always  able  to  do  that  for  her,  help  her  find  that  part  of  herself  that  she  didn't  have  much  confidence  in.  a  small  smile  hangs  off  her  lips  in  relief  as  she  continued  to  revel  in  the  way  he  gazed  at  her  and  the  words  he  used  to  enlighten  her.  he  did  everything  she  needed  him  to  do  in  this  moment,  she  couldn't  have  been  more  lucky.         “       when  did  you  get  so  mature      ?        ”     she  chuckled,  embracing  him  with  her  arms  and  hugging  him  tightly.

ever  since  bonnie  had  found  out  about  her  ancestry,  her  family  history  with  witchcraft  and  where  she  truly  came  from,  she  had  been  engulfed  in  learning  everything  there  was  to  know  about  the  magic  world.  her  grandmother  had  been  so  kind  to  guide  her  in  the  right  direction;  supplying  her  the  proper  tools  such  as  books  and  the  grimores  that  belonged  to  her  ancestors.  she  was  still  in  such  a  state  of  shock  that  all  of  this  was  real,  and  it  was  happening  to  her,  but  it  made  so  much  sense  to  her.  it  finally  answered  all  the  questions  about  herself  and  even  gave  her  the  proper  puzzle  pieces  that  were  missing  in  her  life.  she  always  felt  she  was  different  from  her  friends  and  her  dad's  side  of  the  family.  being  able  to  see  someone's  aura  or  past  or  even  future  just  by  touching  them  just  wasn't  normal,  and  no  one  ever  seemed  to  take  her  seriously,  never  believed  her.  but,  when  her  grandmother  finally  told  her  everything  about  the  bennett  family  history,  no  one  else's  opinion  mattered  anymore.  she  was  proud  of  it,  in  fact.  but  with  great  power  came  great  responsibility,  and  that  responsibility  always  seemed  to  be  protecting  her  friends  and  her  loved  ones.  a  witch's  greatest  enemy  were  vampires,  and  it  saddened  her  to  see  her  friends  fall  victim  to  them  over  and  over  again.

that's  why  she  was  practicing,  gathering  her  energy  and  strengthening  her  power  so  she  was  able  to  protect  them  better.  lately,  she  had  been  failing  at  her  spells,  or  they  would  come  out  weak,  not  enough  to  completely  render  a  vampire  helpless.  she  needed  her  space  alone  as  she  tried  out  a  new  protection  spell  for  elena.  they  had  no  idea  when  klaus  would  make  his  reappearance  in  mystic  falls  because,  eventually,  he  will  learn  elena  is  actually  alive  and  that's  why  none  of  his  hybrids  seemed  to  be  successful.  this  spell   ...   it  wore  on  her  more  than  most.  blood  dripped  from  her  nostrils,  and  it  worried  her,  but  she  had  to  stay  strong.  that's  when  she  heard  @wickedembrace 's voice  speak  from  behind  her.  she  turns  and  wipes  at  her  nose  quickly  with  the  back  of  her  hand,  giving  her  a  shaky  and  not-so-reassuring  smile.   ❛   i'll  be  fine.  just  happens  when  you  try  something  outside  the  box   ❜   she  told  her,  sniffling.   ❛   what're  you  doing  here?  everything  okay?   ❜   she  asked,  folding  her  arms  over  her  chest.

bb. bonnie wasn't one to believe in redemption arc. in fact, she was one to believe that evil people couldn't become nice ones. though, she has seen lot of evil people turn their hartred into something that could be considered help, she has to admit that it was hard for her to see them as simple human being who can make mistakes. she wasn't elena gilbert. she doesn't have hope. it all changed when the blonde entered into her life though. sighing at her words, the witch couldn't help but shake her head as she approached her, slowly and wanting to make a point. tilting her head to the side, charlotte stared at the woman in front of her, confusion and a little bit concern for the wellbeing of this woman. her motherly instinct was coming forward, as she debated to reach out to hold onto the dazed woman, but being in new orleans is a dangerous place at the moment, and not wanting anyone to think that she was in distress. (not like she needed help, she is very capable of looking after herself, vampirism and all).

There was some charity event in the town square today, which meant pretty much the entire town population and then some was there. That was including Doug the Downer. After being magic-blocked by him the other night, Claire was feeling just a little bitter on missing out. It had been Laura who gave them all the okay to watch and he had ruined the learning experience by sending them away. Apparently he had a talent for that.

Spotting him chatting up some pretty-yet-very-unfortunate blonde at the bar, Claire came to a halt as she had a stroke of genius. This prompted her group of Persephone, Bon, and Bon’s nerd friend, Quinn to stop for her. 

“You guys wanna have a little fun?” She asks them as they follow her gaze. Bon picked up on her thoughts immediately upon spotting him.

“Claire, no. Just leave it be...”

Claire just gave her a look that said she was going to do the complete opposite of that. Moving a little closer to them, she finds what she was looking for as the bartender sets two cans of beer down in front of them. Doug was laughing about something, probably feeling like he was oozing the charm and about to get lucky. Not if she had her way. Concentrating (maybe a little too hard) on the opened can next to him, she wills it to spill over onto his lap... only for both cans to explode all over the counter.

The woman manages to catch herself from falling off her stool from the surprise of it; dodging the brunt of the foam as it sprayed everywhere. Doug was less lucky, catching a face full of it and falling out of his chair onto the floor. That wasn’t what she had in mind but it she’d be lying if she said the sight didn’t bring her immense joy.

“Shit. Oops...”

“Claire!” Bonnie exclaims, half scolding and half trying to suppress her laughter.

❛ What the hell is the matter with you?! ❜ Quinn was less amused.

“Hey, accidents happen,” she defends against Mister Responsible, “I only meant to knock it over. I’m still learning. Besides, he’s fine. Maybe next time he’ll be less of a douche and karma won’t bite him in the ass like that.”

Somewhere to their left, she could hear some of the other pack kids laughing as Doug swore up a storm. Joel was helping him up, also seeming like he was trying to hold back in joining them. Looking back to Quinn with a smirk, she gestures to the scene in front of them. “See? Perfectly fine.”

3-5 Prompt: Bonnie and Gray in What-If

send me ✎ + prompt & i’ll write you a 3-5 sentence drabble.

Since Grams died this house had been just a big lonely space. She didn’t really have any family left, just an absentee mother and an MIA cousin she hadn’t heard from in a few years. So when Gray needed a place to stay, Bonnie was too happy (for more reason than one) to offer her the guest room at hers. It had been quiet for so long that it was nice to finally have another person to help fill the silence.

In a swirl of constant chaos around here, they found themselves in a rare moment of peace. The night was quiet with no pressing matters immediately requiring their attention so they were taking full advantage of the fact. Maybe in more ways than one because Bonnie hadn’t been able to stop thinking about the way Gray had greeted her when she returned to Mystic Falls with her dad. They hadn’t spoken of it since but it was always on her mind.

“So...” Bonnie starts as she pours them both a cup of tea. “Are we gonna talk about it?” 

Gray makes one of her Gray-esque smartass comments as Bonnie turns to her with a slight smirk. “You know what I mean.” She retorts setting down a cup in front of her before joining her at the table. She did know, that much she could read from her expression. Neither were really expert when it came to love and relationships. Gray’s priority had been her work, so relationships had been abandoned for some time and Bonnie had something of an unlucky streak when it came to it. Either they died to this crazy world she was always caught up in or in the case of Jeremy Gilbert, they cheated on her with literal ghosts of girlfriend’s past.

A bit of an awkward silence passed between them before Bonnie broke it. “Did you mean it?”

There wasn’t much of a pause before Gray confirmed that she did mean it. Smiling a bit as she processed that, she was honest in return. “Me too,” she said in reference to the way that she’d kissed her back in the moment once the shock wore off. “I thought I loved you as just a best friend, and I do, but I’ve been realizing how different it is with you compared to how it is with Caroline and Elena. There’s some deeper connection there but I haven’t wanted to say anything because... Because you’re too important to risk losing. I wasn’t even sure you felt the same.”

It was all being laid out on the table now. The attraction, the longing, and especially the growing feelings they’d both tried to suppress. It definitely wasn’t one-sided but the big question was posed by Gray: What did they do about it?

They were in the middle of a supernatural war and people were depending on them. Bonnie had to make sure her friends and her town were safe and Gray had responsibilities to her family and their mission. It was a good question.

“Well, we’re already roomies. Maybe not much has to change right now.” She said as she scoots her chair over a little closer to Gray. “Maybe these evenings we already spend together we just keep spending them together. Just in a different sense...”

As if to emphasize her point, she just goes for it and leans in for the kiss. Their lips collide for the second time and when Gray responds back to her, she knew they had their answer.
