Imagine : ✨⛓️Bonnie Bennett x Kai Parker ⛓️✨
Part 3 ! (final part)
Length : 3K.7
[Part 1 here]
[Part 2 here]
After shortly debating with myself, I've decided 'F**K IT ALL' !!
This is the last part of that fic'. I've sacrificed my sleep because I wanted to finish it. Here we go !!
Tumblr media
[Previously.... on The Vampire Diaries Imagine....]
Bonnie tentatively extends a hand and slowly lifts his shirt, revealing a white-ish fluid dripping over his lower abdomen. Kai actually just came in his pants, untouched. She, made him come.
The witch's eyes go wide, the aftershocks of her orgasm fading, realisation hitting her. What has she just done ?
[Now....]
The witch stands up abruptly, stumbling, almost falling over. She catches herself and rises up, moving away from the scene, away from him. She's talking to herself, almost whispering.
_ No, no, no, no....
Her back's turned on him. Eyes closed. Arms up. Fists on her head. She opens her mouth but nothing comes out. She mouthes silent beginnings of words. It's like she's come down of a high and is now disoriented, trying to form sentences but she can't. The only things coming out of her mouth are distressed moans and shaky no's.
While Bonnie's trying to calm herself down, Kai is slowly getting back to earth. The weight on his lap has suddenly disappeared. The chains have finally stopped hurting. His vampiric healing ability does its work and all the wounds caused by the constriction vanish. His breathing's steady now, chest heaving at a normal rhythm. The remaining taste of her blood on his tongue is a sweet reminder of what's just happened. That was intense ! He licks his lips, a smile growing wide on his face. 'A worthy opponent, and a worthy partner' he tells himself.
The man raises his head to observe the chaos surrounding them. Windows, glasses, furniture.... Oh no, the karaoke ! As much as he felt an immense pleasure in the action, he hadn't realised it caused that much damage. The way their respective magic intertwined in a blissful storm.... He can't help but imagine what would have happened if they'd gone all the way. Would it make the prison world break if they actually....
At the thought, the chains instantly react.
_ No....
The man does his best to shrug the sensation away, wrinkling his nose out of pain. Not again. That's enough torture for a day.
Clearing his mind, Kai sweeps the room until his eyes fall on the witch. She seems agitated. From behind, she doesn't look as pleased as Kai is right now. And from what he can percieve with his vampy-earing, those sounds are not words of satisfaction. The man is close to disappointment.... worried, if he dared to admit.
_ Bonnie ?
_ Don't !
Eyes still closed, the witch waves a hand in his direction, urging him to shut his mouth. Unconsciously, the movement of her hand makes the chains magically fall off of Kai's body, landing on the floor. Bonnie, lost in her own head, doesn't seem to hear the sound. She's so confused that her mind itself picks out what she reacts to. Her name, his voice, that gets a reaction. But some random sound gets lost in translation.
Kai's finally free from the restraints. He lets out a contented sigh, exhaling in relief. He stretches his arms and cracks his neck. When he tries to stand up, he falls down on his knees, palms on the ground. The man is still affected by the extreme pleasure-pain he's just experienced. He chuckles at the absurdity of his state.
The cum tainting his underwear feels sticky on his skin, uncomfortable. Eyes closing, he siphons the power of his vampire side to boost his own magic. He then whispers a spell to clean himself up.
_ Better.
The short siphoning he's done got him some energy back. He mumbles something else to himself before raising his head back in the witch's direction. In a flash, he vampire-walk right in front of her, a large grin on his face.
_ Now, it's my turn.
Bonnie's taken by surprise, suddenly pulled out of her thoughts. How is he.... did she....? She doesn't have the time to object. Strong hands tightly grip her wrists, siphoning her magic. Her face constricts in pain, knees buckling, eyes pleading. Kai's sadistic smile slightly fades. Now that the witch's face is torn by suffering, and not by pleasure....
He attempts to blink the thought away. For a second, he doesn't realise he's paused siphoning her. Bonnie's panicked look is quickly replaced by an angry expression. She takes advantage of his short moment of hesitation.
_ Motus !
The witch gets him flying away, crashing on the broken tables. The man cries in pain. This time, it's not pleasurable.
Bonnie rapidly gets a hold of herself and starts running. She needs to get out of here, away from him. She's got the ascendant, her blood, and she knows where to go. It's gonna be easy to....
_ What !?
As she was trying to exit the room, she bumped into an invisible wall. It borders the whole place, preventing her from getting out. Her mouth opens a little, eyes wide, disbelieving.
_ Tut tut tut tut. Not escaping this time.
She hears Kai's irritating voice reaching her. She turns to face him, ready to fight. The man's laying on the ground, bits of broken furniture planted in his body. He grunts, pulling a piece of wood out of his stomach. Through the pain, he smiles guiltily at her enraged face. Right. The bastard had casted a room isolation spell when she accidentally freed him....
A second later, Kai is head in hands, crushed by an aneurysm.
When it stops, the man lets out a laugh, mocking her.
_ You're not in the mood anymore ? Came to the impression you wanted time to play with your toy, huh ?
The moment he finishes that sentence, another aneurysm wrecks his mind. Then it stops again. Bonnie's not playing anymore.
_ Let me out !
Kai stares at her face, escaping yet another giggle.
_ No.
The witch uses more of her power to smash his head yet again. It hurts so bad it makes his nose bleed. If he weren't half vampire he would already be unconscious. However, the man can't move from the floor. There's still shards of wood in his body that he needs to get rid of, but the constant aneurysm won't let him budge.
After a moment, it stops again. Kai quit laughing, but he doesn't spare her some smug comment.
_ You banished me here, remember ? I cannot be killed.
That's unfortunately true, Bonnie concedes. Regardless, pain is back in Kai's brain. It's not about excitement anymore. All she wants is to make him suffer. She continues until she's too exhausted to keep her magic going. She grudgingly lets her hands fall back, exasperated.
Finally released, Kai's feeling dizzy. It takes him a few seconds to realise he's able to move again. He takes the opportunity to pull the other pieces of wood out of his body, instantly healing. His time as a walking blood bag found itself useful after all.
He glances back at the witch. Bonnie's trying different spells to break the barrier. Nothing works. She's way too tired for anything to work anyway. She starts desperately punching the air before her face, her hands bouncing back to her with the force of the spell.
_ So determined.
No response.
_ You wanna get back to your friends ? See if they need another favour from you ?
_ That's none of your business !
At the tone of her voice, Kai smiles. He's definitely touched a raw nerve.
_ I thought you had enough of being used.
She turns to face him. Her eyes somehow shine from the chandeliers light, though Kai notices the rage filling them. The man's up to his feet now, watching her from a distance.
_ That's what you said before we....
He grins playfully, giving her a knowing look. No need to add another word. He eyes her with amusement, shamelessly checking her out.
Bonnie turns back to avoid his gaze, resting her head on the invisible wall.
_ Just let me out.
Her voice is now no higher than a whisper.
_ Please....
Kai surely wasn't expecting that. The witch that had no shame tying him up and using him as her boytoy was now pleading him for mercy ?
_ You're already begging me ? Is it exciting, or pathetic ? Hum.... debatable.
His dubious remark falls flat. Bonnie has no reaction. Not anymore. Not to him. Not to anything. None of this makes sense anyway. Pathetic, that's the word.
A shaky sob escapes her lips. That's the moment she breaks down. She's giving up, right in front of him. She switches position to place her back on the barrier, slowly falling to the floor. She clutches her legs to her chest, resting her chin on her knees, eyes closed.
She's wanted it to happen, all of it. She's released all of her frustration on him. But now that it's done..... It feels wrong. She's wanted to feel his touch even. Although the only times he did touch her were to siphon her magic. That feels so wrong....
He's right about her friends though. She's confessed it to him. Why ? As much as she loves them, she's always being called when she's of good use to fix one of their problems. At least when Kai's here, that's strictly about her. Even if he's more likely to harm her... Oh, wait ! Her friends have done it too. On some levels, Kai's not worse than the ones she dares to call her friends.
She doesn't even care that he's here, free to do as he pleases. He could hurt her. Whatever. She's just had an orgasm rubbing herself against that man. She could die right now. At least she wouldn't have to live much longer with that memory in mind. What would they have to say about that ? Her 'friends'. Stupid ? Dangerous ? Disgusting ? They would ask if she'd been under a spell. Is she...? No. She knows she's not. She's enjoyed the moment, but now.... what happens ?
Since her rambling was purely internal, Kai's been watching her silently for a moment now. He saw her crumble to the floor, inert. Then nothing.
He doesn't know what to say, what to do. He's used to people panicking about what he does to them. So, why was Bonnie panicking on her own ? He hadn't done anything.... yet.
He takes a look around. Is someone here ? Cloaking themselves to harm Bonnie before his very eyes ? That's his job by the way ! No, he doesn't feel anyone else. No witchy-woo. No other heartbeat than the witch's. There's just the two of them. After pondering a second, he cautiously approaches her.
_ Are you okay ?
No response. The only sound he catches is her sniffing.
_ Are you having allergies ?
Still nothing. He continues.
_ We're indoors, so that would be unlikely.... Is it possible to get allergies inside ? What's this thing called.... dust mite ?
The witch is not answering. No comment. No attack. She's scary silent, except from the shaky breaths escaping her mouth. In fact, the words cross Bonnie's mind. They do. But she's so out of it all that she can't react. She feels numb.
Kai would rather be fighting right now. At least, he would know what he's supposed to be doing. He's seen her break in the past, the day she tried to kill herself. He was glad to have played a part in preventing it, to be honest. A dead Bonnie wouldn't be half as much fun. Yes, he had tried to kill her himself, but you're missing the point. That's who they are, that's what they do. Fighting until one of them surrenders....
Plus, them being sort of alive led to that delectable moment of.... No pain ? Oh right, he'd forgotten he wasn't tied up anymore. It feels nice to be able to let one's mind wander.... Would it happen again ? He would definitely let it happen again, and much more. He'd be in charge this time. He'd finally feel that burning skin under his touch.... Does she have some hidden desires ? He would unravel them all if she let him. See that pretty face torn by pleasure.... Her cries.... And her blood ! There's no questioning the particularity of the Bennetts' blood. He's only had a few drops, and that's the best he's ever tasted. Was the feeling heightened by the other sensations ? Their connection ? Magic ? He has no idea. All he knows is that he'd definitely want to have another taste !
At the thought, his vampire instincts react. Eyes, veins, fangs, the whole package. It's solely the new sob escaping the witch's mouth that instantly gets the man out of his mind. He shakes his head, face back to normal.
Kai exhales, at a loss. He eventually walks up to her, contemplating her face.... what.... He seemingly points at her under-eyes, unsure.
_ There's.... water, pouring out of your eyes.... Crying ! Oh, you're crying. Knew it ! .... But, why are you crying ?
Silence.
_ The last time I saw you cry you were about to die.... Are you dying ? Doesn't look like it.
Nothing ?
_ By the way, I'm sorry about that. I suppose...
The witch huffs at his words. Finally ! He got a reaction from her. A warm smile spreads across his face. That's not enough. He wants to get her out of that stoic state. He rubs his fingers on his chin, considering....
_ I've read about it on google. That was years ago but.... Crying, crying.... Oh !
Without a second thought, he crouches down next to her.
_ You want a hug ?
Bonnie's eyes snap open. She abruptly raises her head from her knees, and turns to look straight at his face. She's absolutely shocked. She would understand him asking her about sexual intercourse or wanting to suck her blood.... but a 'hug' ? Now she's too stunned to speak.
Through watery eyes, she can see Kai's arms extended in her direction. It's almost terrifying how welcoming and friendly he appears. At that moment, she doesn't even care that he's physically close. They've been way closer a few minutes ago. She would rather be crushed by one of his spells. It would feel more right than whatever this is.
Since the witch doesn't respond to his offer, Kai slouches down on the floor beside her. He lazily rests his head on the invisible wall behind.
_ Don't aneurysm me. I just got orgasm-tortured. I'd like to have clear thoughts for a couple of minutes, if you don't mind.
The memory hits her. Bonnie blinks a few times to get it out of her mind, tears running down her cheeks. She can't deal with that right now. She's too tired to torture him again. He won't undo the spell, and she's used practically all of her powers. She needs to rest.... It can't be worse than what she was doing to him minutes ago, right ?
She sniffles a bit and wipes the water off of her face.
_ Yes.
Kai shifts on the floor, trying to make himself as comfortable as possible.
_ Thanks.
After a moment of hesitation, Bonnie whispers.
_ I mean.... yes, I want a hug.
The man's eyes snap back to her, quite surprised.
_ Come again ?
He had obviously heard her every word. He's sitting close enough, and his vampire-earing can easily catch any sound leaving her lips. She glares at him, clearly annoyed, though feeling defeated.
_ Don't make me repeat myself.
The man wears a guilty smile on his face. He does appreciate her giving in.
Bonnie hesitates an instant. A brilliant idea of hers, once again. It's not that she always comes up with awful ones. She's a rather intelligent woman most of the time. It's just.... Today.... With him.... The last hour is not the best representation of her bright mind.
She stares at his face, suspicious. Kai's waiting for her, arms open. He still looks frighteningly sincere. She takes a deep breath, and before he can retract his arms again, she slides right next to him, sides touching. The sudden contact his unsurprisingly totally awkward. Why does this feel weirder than....
Kai is freaking out. He hadn't considered how it would make him feel. He's currently realising that he should have. Physical contact without any form of violence is a complete other story. If his heart could beat like a normal human being, it would reach cardiovascular issues.
He's the one who initiated the contact. He cannot step back now. He's got his pride ! So, gathering some courage, he apprehensively envelopes the witch with his arms. The moment his hands come into contact with her skin, a red light emanates from his palms. Bonnie jerks at the burning sensation. Kai straight up removes his hands from her.
_ Oh my god ! I'm sorry... I didn't mean to....
This exact moment gets Bonnie reminiscing of what he had told her in 1903.... She feels a pang in her heart.
_ Bon ?
From the sound of his voice, the witch understands that the situation is as terrifying for her as it is for him. Perfect. Without thinking twice, she bends to the side and puts her head on his chest, eyes closed.
Kai, who hadn't moved an inch since the accidental siphoning, slowly starts to relax. She hasn't moved away. She's actually moved closer ! He smiles at the thought. Trying once again, he experimentally places a hand on her shoulder.... nothing. Just skin against skin. He exhales loudly, relieved. With much more confidence now, he envelopes her in a tight embrace. Bonnie's head is resting on his chest. He feels the anxiety of her heartbeat fade with each second that passes.
The witch listens to the slow rhythm of the vampiric heart pounding next to her ear. As she's trying to relax herself, she feels her eyes start to water once more, a sob leaving her lips yet again. This time, she doesn't hold it back. She lets it all go. Soon enough, she's weeping against Kai's shoulder, arms crossed behind his neck. Tears run down her chin, staining his shirt.
What does he do now ? There's a woman crying on him, wetting his clothes. He's got his arms wrapped around her in a hug. That's it ? Nothing more ? Did it say something about getting rid of the tears ? He can't recall. That's all he remembers from the google article. He's read it too long ago. It's also been way longer since he's hugged anyone. He's forgotten how it's supposed to go. He was forbidden to touch for so many years. It feels oddly right. He's not the one crying, but it comforts him all the same. It's like an invisible hand is wiping his own childhood ghosty-tears. He discreetly inhales Bonnie's scent. Yes. Right. Right.... The tears ! Before he can try anything, the witch is rubbing her face on his shoulder. Kai's expression freezes. Guess she found a solution to wipe her tears on her own....
After a while, Bonnie has stopped crying. She tiredly rests her head in the crook of his neck, calmly breathing. Kai has been stroking her back for god knows how long. She would never admit it to his face, but it feels good. It soothes her never-resting brain. Speaking of it, she hasn't been doubting his sincerity for a moment now. Why ? His strong arms are around her. He could easily break her, vampy-strenght helping. Still, he feels calm against her skin. He's not gonna hurt her. Not now. Now like this. She's always felt when he was up to no good. And that's most of the time. She doesn't even know if she'd care if he was. It seems out of his plan, for now. And it's all that matters.
Feeling her shift on his lap, he tries not to move, letting her sit comfortably. Kai mentally shakes his head. Who would have thought his day would be ending like this ? He went on a failed gemini slaughter spree, was sex-tortured for a while, and had finally the Bennett witch in his arms, clinging to him. Not that he's complaining. He slightly shrugs at his mental rambling, tightening his hold on the witch. Out of pure impulse, he tentatively slides a hand on her head, gently caressing.
_ You've got really nice hair.
He can't shut up, can he ? Nevermind. Bonnie hums in agreement. She's shown so much sides of her personality today.... To him ? Why ? How could she let this happen ? Acting solely on instinct and impulsivity may not be the best of choice.... But after that, there's nothing she'll ever be ashamed of. She's not sure she's ashamed of this anyway. Why would she ? She's wanted it. Done it. She broke down. And now she's cuddling with the same guy she's been fighting against. Whatever. He smells good....
Kai's restless. There's another thing he wants to try. That might ends the intimate moment they're sharing.... But since it's the first, and most likely the last they will ever share.... He got to the conclusion that he might as well take a chance. Putting any second thought aside, he turns his head to plant a subtle kiss on the witch's forehead. He expects her to flinch, to reject his affectionate gesture.... To his suprise, she doesn't move an inch away. She nuzzles against his neck, humming appreciatively. He grins uncontrollably. That was totally worth the risk ! He feels like.... Is he supposed to say 'like a child on Christmas day' ? Because it's certainly not the right expression for him.
What is she doing ? Torture, kisses, sex, fight, cries, hug.... Now this ? And she's liking it ? Can she blame it on exhaustion ? She can't, huh ? She needed a shoulder to cry on. It happened to be his. So, what ? Does she feel relaxed and at peace in his arms ? Yes. Is it freaking weird knowing all that's happened today and all the days before ? Yes. Would she do it again all the same ? Yes. Does she regret it ? Hum.... No. If there's one thing she's got to be, it's honest with herself. She likes him holding her tight. He is likeable, to some extent. She would not go as far as to say she likes him. She doesn't even trust him.... She likes what he does to her. Right now. Just now.
Kai rests his chin on her head, slowly stroking her hair. For a second, he considers stealing the ascendant, breaking the spell and running out to his escape. That would take her by suprise. She would not have the time to react and stop him.... He doesn't move. He surely doesn't plan on staying imprisoned in that place. But for now, he's here. Bonnie is in his arms. Her heart is pounding right next to his barely beating one. Her warm body pressed against his own. This situation was rather unexpected, to say the least. However, he intends to make the most of it.
Neither of them know how long they stay like this. After all that had happened, they were sharing a moment of peace. Just silence. And them. It won't last. It can't. Is it wrong ? Is it right ? It just is. And that's enough for the both of them.
The End.

Voilà, voilà.... ⛓️🩸✨🙄
Hope you enjoyed the ride of that 3 parts story.
What was once an idea of a little smutty imagine based off of a gif.... Turned into THIS. How on earth ?
It wasn't OOC, was it ? That situation would never happen. But still, I try to get their personalities on point.... Success ?
Tell me what you thought about it in the comments. ~
✨⛓️💀❤️💀❤️💀❤️💀❤️💀⛓️✨
~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I was writing this, I had a little micro-idea of what would happen after. It's not another part. It can be summarized in a few words.
Kai finally knocks her out. He uses a spell similar to the one Liv used on Tyler in season 6. He cuts Bonnie's palm to get her blood and snatches the ascendant....
On his way out, he changes his mind. He goes back to get Bonnie. He carries her to the celestial event linked to this new prison world (yes, he's discovered which one it was and found where its effects are the most powerful, don't get into the details).
So, he does the spell with Bonnie's blood while holding her. When they're back to the present, he leaves her at home, still unconscious (yes, it's a long lasting spell 🙄).
When she wakes up, she finds a note.
"'till next time Bonster"
Kai has not left her behind this time. He did not stab her. She's only got a cut on her hand. She's alive, home, and safe.
He's gone. Where ? Good question....
Tadaaaaaaa !!
Idk if this makes sense but thoughts on ceo Kai parker with assistant reader???
are you ready for my longest response to an ask yet? because here it is...
so i'm currently working on a bonkai with a workplace AU that i've admittedly forgotten about that was requested in october. but working on that gave me inspo for this... and then i took it in a whole 'nother direction
fluff & smut below!
this could go 2 ways (or it could include both)
we've got the one where he's super sweet on her.
or we have him teasing & being super sexual until she gives in.
we also have possibilities for the reader to be more shy or more confident, and that majorly changes things.
kai will be kai no matter what, but there will be variation in how he reacts to her.
if she's more shy, i think he'd be a lot more teasing with her. gentle, bc he doesn't want to scare her off, but definitely pushes sometimes.
if she's more confident, he would be taken aback (and definitely turned on) from that. he recognizes that she won't take shit from anyone & respects that about her.
with the shy reader, her co-workers sometimes do try to take advantage of her, but he snaps back at them & checks on her after.
shy reader
he instantly has a liking towards you.
you're quiet and respectful, but do your job well.
you do things in a timely manner & treat others appropriately.
going above and beyond to make his job easier.
kai, at first, doesn't want to overstep your boundaries.
he's gentle towards you & thankful for your hard work. is very appreciative.
calls you names like "darling," and "sweetheart," or even "peach," that always make you blush.
he means it as innocently as you receive it.
… at first.
with time, feelings grow.
you both push them down to maintain a professional work environment, and even go as far as to deny they are there at all.
there's talk in the office, but no one is bold enough to mention it. plus, there's no proof of anything between you guys.
hold on, i have a side story for this, since it's december, and this just sounds so cute to me.
okay so kai has a holiday party he has to attend, but no one close enough in his life to bring as a plus one.
his mother demands he brings someone, and if he doesn't, she'll set him up with her best friend's daughter.
kai doesn't want to get stuck in that awkward situation, so right before break, he asks a huge, huge favor of you.
"i'm, uh, not quite sure how to ask this, y/n, but i have a huge favor to ask of you."
"anything you need."
"it's okay to say no, i completely understand if you don't want to, it's totally your choice."
you giggle, closing your eyes, and his heart races. "i'm sure it's fine."
he grimaces, "would you mind accompanying me as my plus one to a holiday party? it's on the 23rd and local, only about thirty minutes away. it's just between friends and family, but if i don't have a plus one, my mother will set me up…. i just… actually, this is, i shouldn't have asked. i'm sorry, y/n."
you're surprised at first, a little confused, but not ready to reject the offer. your boss begins to ramble about how inappropriate it was of him to ask, and while he may be right, you don't want him to be in such a situation with his mother. you know how family can be.
"sure, i'll go with you."
"i'm- wait, what?"
"if the offer still stands, i'll be happy to go."
he stops. "you're positive?"
"just give me the time and place."
kai does more than that. when he tells you the dress code (relatively fancy), he offers to buy you a dress, but you say you already have one. he then picks you up at your apartment and immediately compliments the dress you wear. he notices your eyes, and how well your makeup compliments their color. his eyes linger on your lips, bold with a shade of red. he tries not to look at your body, but sneaks a glance that you totally catch.
he insists on driving you to the event, and gives you a rundown on the attendees on the way. those in his family who are crazy and that you should avoid, those to whom he's closest, those who have a weak understanding of personal space, and those who will not come within six feet of an unknown person. he tells you about his favorite cousin and the questions he may ask. he prepares a speech about you being his assistant, and not a girlfriend. you practice this speech together, bouncing off one another, about when you started, what you do, and how appreciative he is of your help.
you expect his mother to be stern and strict, but when you meet her, she turns out to be a very sweet lady, despite her high expectations for her family.
she's clearly not convinced that you're a work friend / assistant and not his girlfriend, and no one in his family is convinced, either.
he takes you around the house, introducing you to the necessary people, but never lingers in any one group for long. he knows you're shy and this must be difficult.
after you finish introductions, he pulls you into the garage to check on you.
"doing alright, darling? i know my family is huge. just take a moment to breathe."
you're thankful for this, and hold his hands while taking deep breaths.
after you settle, he promises food and brings you to the snack table.
there's no judgement about how much you eat; no one comments about you eating too much or too little.
alcohol is offered, and you grab a drink only to calm your nerves. he drinks one to "tolerate family" but promises it won't affect his driving later that night. promises, right there, to keep you safe. you believe him completely.
after snacking for a while (and being thankful it's not a sit down dinner), you go back to talking with his family.
you sit on the couch with a couple aunts as one plays a piano. to your left, kai talks to one of his nephews, no older than six, and your heart warms at the sight.
one of his aunts enters and comments he's next to have kids, then looks at you.
the two of you erupt into your "coworkers, not dating" spiel, and she scoffs with a roll of her eyes. "could've fooled me."
neither of you look at each other after that for a moment. you turn back to the conversation you were in, but his nephew runs off, leaving him alone.
kai watches you talk to his family. all those buried feelings rise to the surface and his throat dries. he takes a second look at how beautiful you are. your smile, despite however tired you must feel, respectfully never falters. your small fingers grasp your cup, once filled with a festive party drink, now with coffee as the end of the night draws near. your dress fits your frame perfectly, and your heels match the exact shade of your dress.
several members of his family catch him staring. his nephew whispers something about love in his ear. he hushes the child quickly, but his tinted cheeks give him away.
kai isn't the only one caught staring, though. his mother watched you visibly sigh at the sight of him with his nephew, a smile tugging on your lips. his father saw the way you relaxed when he brought you away to the kitchen, checking on you a second time. his cousin heard the stutter when you told him kai was just your boss and that there was nothing going on between you two.
when the party isn't filled with talking and laughter, the silence is filled with lingering stares. bated breaths and twinkling eyes. the urge to cross the line between a boss and his assistant.
you disappear for a couple minutes to help his mother clean up after the party. kai talks with his father about "business" but you wonder if that's really the topic.
his mother is nosy, but polite about it. she asks about work and asks if he treats you well on the clock. you reply that he certainly does, and that you're grateful to have a boss that cares about you like he does.
she then double-checks that you're not really dating, and doesn't miss the cloud of sadness in your eyes when you insist that you are not.
she then tells you he's been single for a while because trust doesn't come easy to him. she mentions the blueness of his eyes. how it's been a bright, baby blue all night; a stark contrast to the gray tinted blue she's grown used to seeing. she doesn't elaborate the reasoning, but you don't need her to to know what she's hinting.
by the time you leave the party, most of his relatives have grown comfortable enough with you to hug. the six-feet apart one gives a wave. his mother's hug is the tightest; his father gives a firm handshake, but then draws you in for his own hug. his nieces and nephews attach to your legs and make you promise to see them again. you agree, not wanting to break their little hearts.
it's dark by the time you begin to drive home, and it has been for a while.
kai wants to hold your hand in the center console. he refrains. you rest your elbow there, hands close, but not touching.
you rehash the night, speaking highly of his family. he checks up on you a third time to make sure you're not overwhelmed, but to your own surprise, you feel okay. happy, even.
he apologizes for anything his aunts or mother might've said, but you promise every conversation was good.
eventually, the mention of the various comments came up. a count of how many times you had to tell people you were just friends, co-workers, and not dating. you share a laugh over it, but the walls are down already. whatever feelings had been buried have now resurfaced. kai internally curses himself, afraid of your reaction.
your mouth opens to say something, and his throat goes dry again. his heart would break if you are uncomfortable by it all.
"thanks for the invite, but i think i should transfer," he fears, "we shouldn't work together any more".
instead, you turn to him. "thank you for the invite. i had a good time."
"thank you for accompanying me."
it's silent for the last couple minutes, then he walks you to the door of your apartment. he stands outside, forcing words out of his throat while you stand in front of him, bathed in the gorgeous warm glow of your porch light.
"thank you again. i'm glad my mother didn't scare you off. it would've been so boring without you. see you at work."
you nod, "see you at work," but then as he turns to leave, you can't bear to let him go. you reach out to grab his coat and he turns. you make up an excuse about his scarf not being straight, though that doesn't really matter, and in the next second, you pull on it gently to bring him closer to you.
his eyes dart down to the grip on the wool between your fingers, and then to your face. you wear an expression equal of shyness and determination. he translates it into the consent he needs to cup your face in his hands and press his lips to yours.
warmth travels throughout both your bodies immediately. the kiss deepens to you pulling his coat closer, his steps forward, backing you into the wall behind you. he kicks your door shut and your hands bury into his hair.
kai's hands start to feel your body, but then he breaks it off. he doesn't want you to think he's only wanting you sexually. he wants something real. he's wanted it for ages.
he admits this. you shyly, admit you feel the same.
but while sex is put on pause, kai locks his car and you invite him in. you share a glass of wine and spend the night talking, growing closer.
the next day at work, it's hard to hide your blushing faces and giddy attitudes. all of your co-workers know immediately, but they also saw it coming for a long time. a couple congratulate you, some ignore the lovesickness like it's a disease, but no one makes a fuss.
maybe kai will be the next in his family to have kids after all. you're certain you've found something good with him, and you're determined to keep it.
now, onto a different path where i could take this idea… get ready, because this is a complete 180 degrees from the previous little bit.
ceo kai with a respectful yet confident assistant.
something is definitely brewing between these two. there are feelings to be felt. …even if neither of you recognize them yet.
kai is incredibly protective over you. you are his assistant, and if anyone needs your help, they must ask him first.
he doesn't want you being overworked or taken advantage of.
you also defend him when co-workers talk shit.
"i don't know why boss is making us do this stupid shit," someone complained once, "it's not like it matters, it's extra work."
"it's in your best interest to complete the task assigned to you. it'll make your job ten times easier when quarterlies roll around."
the coworker rolls her eyes, but kai, who could hear from his open-door office, smiles to himself. he's glad you see the tasks he assigns have purpose, and is grateful for you to try and help others to see that.
there are rumors going around that you sleep together, but he shuts them down immediately.
it's not even on your minds to have a relationship outside of work.
until that one night where he asked you to stay late to help him finish something.
you had seemingly hundreds of paper stacks to grow through, and he was on phone call after phone call.
he ordered food at some point for the two of you, wanting to take care of you since he was needing your help.
you're always eager to help, and even though it's a lot of work, promise to help until the job is done.
when it happened, it was an accident. a complete and total accident.
kai had been watching you sort through papers for too long and didn't even notice he was growing hard until he had to shift.
you looked so beautiful from where he was sitting. hair, once neatly tied up in a bun, now messily falling around your face. your shirt sunk further down every time you stretched to grab something on the other side of the table, exposing your chest a little more each time. your heels were kicked off to the side, and one foot was tucked under your lap.
earlier, he had asked you to enter the room whenever his phone went off to come and take notes.
on your way in, you accidentally make eye contact with the bulge that formed underneath the table.
that phone call is a particularly difficult one to focus on.
after it, you try to shuffle out of the room to give him privacy, but he knows you know and asks you to stay so he can apologize.
he accidentally gives tmi and talks about how it's been so long, and being there with you, looking so beautiful, got him worked up.
instead of shying away, you offer to help rid him of the problem.
not a lot of words are spoken, but somehow you find yourself giving him a bj under the desk.
he's so focused on your doe eyes and the shape of your lips and the way your mouth feels on him. your hands grasp his length & squeeze with the perfect amount of pressure. you jerk off what you can't fit. a string of drool connects your lip to his cock when you pull off for just a moment to admire him. his hands dig in your hair and urge you on, but he doesn't push. never pushes.
quiet moans escape his lips between praises, but you ask him to be louder for you, craving to hear the sounds he's holding back.
getting him off earlier than he expected, and you swallow it before it can hit the floor and leave evidence.
he then pulls you up on the desk, welcomes a kiss, and then moves down to taste you.
feelings he held back & feelings you didn't know you had come bursting out of the floodgates, making for an emotional experience combined with pent-up sexual desire.
supports your back as you come down from your orgasmic high, and fucks you on the desk as soon as his refractory period is over.
has impressive sex drive and says he spent most of his early twenties studying to prove himself.
now reaps the rewards with not only a high-up position, but a perfect assistant.
no motivation for work afterwards. enjoy the rest of your takeout and then he makes sure you get home safely.
the next couple days are awkward until he finally requests you to his office to talk about it.
this talk includes feelings that you had time, by now, to mull over. you both share them and find you feel the same thing for each other.
decide to try a hand at a relationship, starting slowly and keeping it on the down low (minus HR).
grow more comfortable with it & it blossoms into something good & healthy for you both.
now, a handful of smutty office scenarios to shuffle through. i can certainly expand on any of these upon request ;) (or i might anyway)
fooling around after hours. him laying you down across the desk or over top of it. having you on his lap while he answers phone calls.
blowing him under the desk when he's trying to focus on an important call.
sending him dirty texts or nudes from the bathroom when you're both supposed to be working.
itching for your lunch break to come already so he can finally have his way with you.
maybe even being so bold to snap the blinds shut, slap a hand over your mouth, and take you during work hours bc you wouldn't stop teasing. your co-workers all know exactly what's happening, but have lost the will to care.
retrieving him coffee but accidentally spilling it in his lap & trying to dry it with a thin paper towel.
wearing short skirts or low tops on purpose for him.
accidentally sending him a nude that was meant for a tinder date & having to talk about it the next day.
brushing past him on your way back to your seat & getting a little too close - on purpose or on accident.
rubbing your foot on him under the desk whenever you sit across from him.
and that's all i have for now! i'm deeply considering making that holiday party a one-shot, maybe, or taking these other scenarios and expanding on them. i also have way more ideas for this topic but made myself stop because i'm pretty sure this response hit 3k words.
Sweater Shopping
kai parker x bonnie bennett
summary: bonnie needs to buy a new sweater for the holiday season. kai, much to her annoyance, invites himself along.
tags: thanksgiving, autumn, not canon compliant, enemies to friends
word count: 2k
a/n: working on several different things, but in the midst of those, decided i needed a cheesy bonkai fluff-ish piece, so here's one
Tumblr media
When Bonnie hears the passenger door shut after closing her own, she sighs. She does, however, thank the higher power above for getting her to the mall safely, considering her travel buddy has been known to attack people from the backseat of their cars.
The boy in question smiles at her as he approaches. He puts his phone in his pocket and follows her across the road.
Bonnie glances at him from the corner of her eye. “When I said I forgive you, I did not mean that we would be friends. And I certainly did not mean you could follow me around everywhere.”
Kai kicks a pebble across the pavement, but doesn’t answer.
“Why did you even come with me? The mall is the last place I’d ever think you’d want to be.”
“I don’t see it as a place you’d be, either.”
“I need a new top for the holidays. My mom wants me to come over for Thanksgiving, and all my sweaters are looking pretty rough.”
“Ah.”
Bonnie lets her feet carry her to her old favorite store. She hasn’t visited in ages, but she and Elena and Caroline used to go all the time together.
“So where’s your mom live? What’s she do?”
The girl turns to give him a sharp look. “Why do you care?”
“Damn, just curious, okay? You always talk about your Grams. I don’t know anything about your mom.”
“You don’t know anything about me, either.”
Kai clicks his tongue. “I know more than you think.”
“Ugh.” She turns back to watch where she’s going.
“Okay, look, I’m sorry. I don’t mean to upset you.”
“Then stop talking.”
He opens his mouth again, but then promptly shuts it.
Satisfied, Bonnie turns the corner into the store. “If you’re gonna be here, stay close. Don’t need you wandering off and killing someone,” she mutters.
Kai nods, mouth still sealed.
For the next ten minutes as she browses, he lurks a good five feet away at all times. With time, though, he starts to pick up on what kind of sweater she’s looking for, and to her indignation, offers some options.
“Bon.”
“What?”
He lifts up a pastel blue one.
“No.”
“This?” A green with a frilly collar.
“No.”
“This?” Now, it’s a maroon with a lower neckline.
She sighs, ready to snap, but then kind of likes that option. “Maybe.”
Kai, smiling, loops it around his arm to keep for her.
After she’s collected five or six options, she searches for the dressing room. Kai follows her into the section, but when her hand reaches for the knob into the actual room, she turns to him.
“Stay.” Like a troublemaking dog.
To her surprise, he does.
Kai waits patiently, tapping his boot heel on the wooden floor, while she changes. His eyes are trained on the door, curious, but not daring to ask any questions.
Bonnie, meanwhile, stares at herself in the mirror. She isn’t sure how she likes the pink-ish, argyle fit, and crinkles her nose with uncertainty. She sighs, then snaps a picture to send to Caroline. For three minutes, she waits for a reply. After nothing, she caves.
“Hey,” she opens the door slightly and catches Kai’s attention.
His gaze is on her immediately. “Hi.”
“I need you to tell me how this looks. I don’t know if I like it.”
“Okay.” His heart races with excitement.
Bonnie opens the door wider to show him the whole top. Kai tries not to stare, and more importantly, tries to form an appropriate reaction that doesn’t include stuttering.
The sweater is cute, and matches the rest of her outfit well, but doesn’t seem like her style.
“I like the color, I’m just not digging it,” Bonnie explains.
Kai then nods. “It doesn’t seem like you.”
“Okay. Putting it in the ‘no’ pile.”
She shuts the door.
Two minutes later, she opens the door again. “Opinion?”
It’s a plain forest green, although with tiny green sparkles throughout it. Again, she looks beautiful, but it’s still not a match.
“I don’t like it,” she states.
“I don’t dislike it, but I think you could find something better.”
She gives a short nod. “‘No’ pile.”
By the third time, Kai’s expecting her. The first two times, he was caught off guard, but now he waits eagerly to see the next option.
“Red,” she announces. It’s more of a maroon, but Kai doesn’t correct her. “Might look good with some gold jewelry.”
He smiles in agreement. “I like it. Gold would match well.”
“It’s a little big in the shoulders.”
“I didn’t notice until you pointed it out. But it gives it kind of a comfy look.”
Bonnie seems to like that answer. She smiles a little before poking her head back into the room.
In a minute’s time, she presents another. “This one’s cool.”
Kai agrees immediately. This option has a criss-cross design across the top, exposing her chest just a little. Half of it is gray, but it’s an ombre into black at the bottom.
“Here’s the back.” She turns so he can see the ombre from the other side.
His breath hitches in his throat at how well fits her perfect body. The whole top is slightly cropped, too, showing off her tight jeans. “Um,” he stutters. He tears his eyes away as she turns back to face him. If he hadn’t known better, she did that on purpose.
“Opinion?”
“Maybe not to wear at your mom’s. But you should get it anyway because it looks really good on you.”
Bonnie looks in the mirror at her figure. “I see what you mean. Maybe I’ll just get it for fun.”
“You should.”
A small smirk tugs on the edge of her lips. She definitely did that on purpose.
“Okay. Two more choices.”
Kai’s foot taps harder against the wood as his mind clings to the image of her. She laughs to herself, having no idea why she decided to tease the boy, but is certainly having fun doing it.
“Alright, your pick.”
It’s one of the ones he lifted up for her. Another maroon option, though with a v-neck that’s slightly off the shoulders. It fits well, hugging her body, but not too much. There’s no pattern or design, but she kind of likes it that way.
“I think I already have a pair of earrings that would go with it.”
Kai smiles. “It looks nice on you.”
“It’s very soft, too.”
Unexpectedly, she steps out of the room for him to touch. He leans forward to feel the cashmere material. The softness of it makes him relax, visibly, as he stops tapping his foot.
“Comfortable.”
“Very. Alright, I have one more.”
Kai pulls his hand away, but can still feel the threads lingering on his skin. He waits patiently for the last one.
It’s plain black, again with the argyle design, but without any frill. Bonnie likes it, but it doesn’t stand out in the way the others did.
“Opinion?”
Funnily enough, Kai’s thoughts on it match her own. “Looks good, but I like the other ones better. Color suits you.”
That comment makes her smile. “Okay. So which of the maroons, then? The slightly baggier one, or the slight v-neck one?” Kai ponders her question for a moment. Meanwhile, she continues, “I like both, but with the first maroon, I’d have to buy gold jewelry. But with the second one, my bra strap shows a little.”
“So what?” Kai says without thinking. “Girls wear bras.”
Bonnie actually laughs. “Yeah, but I’m seeing my mom. Whom I don’t know all that well when it comes to her opinions of clothes.”
Kai bites his lip. “You look gorgeous in both of them.”
She searches his face, taken off guard by the comment, but finds complete sincerity. “Thank you.”
He only nods. “Which is more comfortable?”
“I like them both. Though that cashmere is tempting. And the price isn’t outrageous.”
“I felt like you’d like it because you seem to always wear lower necklines or v-necks.”
She thinks about that. “I do, yeah. I don’t like the feeling of clothes being tight around my neck.” She pauses. “Alright. I’m going with the second one. Plus I already have jewelry for it.”
“Are you still getting the ombre one for fun?”
Bonnie stops abruptly at his question. “How do you know what ombre is?!”
“I have a sister! I know these things.”
“Hm. Not a lot of boys would know terms like that.”
“Jo and I used to be close,” he reveals, “I remember some of the hairstyles and colors she used to pull off.”
The thought makes the girl laugh. She likes this more human side of Kai. A far cry from the sociopathic, alien-like creature she knew in the prison world. Maybe all it took to see it was for Bonnie to give him a chance.
“Alright, then.” She smiles. “And yes, I’m getting both.”
The next time she hears her passenger door shut, she finds herself glad that the little troublemaker came along. She got to see a different side of him, and actually enjoyed his company. He came in handy, too, with his opinions on the sweaters. Caroline hadn’t answered until they were in the check-out line.
“Mhhhmmm, pink’s kinda more my color,” her text said, “maybe there’s a maroon?”
Bonnie showed Kai the text with a smile.
She replied to the girl, “got a maroon one, thanks!”
What she neglected to say was that Kai picked it out for her. She kept that little tidbit to herself, as well as the fact that she had fun with him. To Bonnie’s knowledge, though, Caroline doesn’t even know the little weasel slipped into her car in the first place.
“So…” the weasel in question starts, “what day are you going to your mom’s?”
“Two days before the actual day of Thanksgiving. She knows I have Friendsgiving here on the actual day, and she knows my best friends are closer to me than she is.”
“Ah.”
“So I’m driving down that day, but then staying the night, then driving back in the morning-ish. She lives in North Carolina,” Bonnie finally reveals.
“Oh. Are you, uh, going by yourself? Like, Elena coming with you, or something? That’s quite a drive.”
“It is, but no.”
“Damon?”
“Hell no. She hates him. He’s the one who turned her.”
“Oh,” Kai repeats, then, quieter, “shit.”
“Yeah. So just me.”
“Can I go with you?”
“What?!”
“I don’t know, just asking. Keep you company.”
“I’m not sure, Kai…” Yes, she had fun today, but to spend a four hour drive with him? And to introduce him to her mom? She’s not sure about that.
“It’s okay,” he says quickly, “I get it.”
“I just…” She makes the mistake of looking over at him. His eyes look slightly sad, the skin underneath tinted with bags. His hands are clasped in his lap, unusually still. “Tell you what… we still have a good week and a half until then. If you are good, and promise to be on your best behavior around my mom, maybe I’ll let you come with me.”
“Wait, really?”
“Since you picked out such a nice sweater for me to wear,” she jokes.
“I promise I’ll be good. I won’t even bug Damon for fun.”
“You better not.”
Kai’s quiet, though internally very excited. Then, after a moment, he asks, “does this make us friends?”
Bonnie sighs. “Guess it sets us on the path to friendship. If you can promise to be good,” she reiterates one more time.
The boy smiles one more time. “Yes!” He mutters, lowkey fist pumping the air.
Bonnie watches him, hoping she made the right decision. Truthfully, he has been a lot better to her and her friends lately. Maybe he’s grateful for the accidental second chance he got when they realized they needed his magic to return from 1903. Or, maybe, it’s Bonnie seeing him in a different way now that he’s seemed to settle down. Either way, it would be easier to be friends, rather than enemies, with Kai, and maybe, she’ll learn she wants him that way, too.
Ok I know you responded to this post a long time ago, but you're so right about Damon being the one to mastermind and manipulate both Bonnie and Kai (her hatred for him/the whole prison abandonment thing and Kai's unrequited feelings for Bonnie/guilt). Hilarious they tried to make Damon look like the hero by end of season 6, that's why it feels cheap when he reluctantly rescues Bonnie. Yes, Damon caused the domino effect in the first place. When really, all he cared about was freeing his crazy mother. So as usual, Damon is just using people to get what he wants. He was the one giving Kai hope under false pretense, while at the same time toying with Bonnie's emotions knowing she wanted nothing to do with them both. Difference is Kai was ACTUALLY sorry & trying to make amends. Can you imagine the bonkai fluff we missed out on that could have been squeezed out of this dilemma?! Meanwhile, Damon was just trying to weasel his way back into her good graces bc he needed to use Bonnie's magic again...for the millionth time.
There's definitely some discrepancies in the writing as well...Bonnie blames Kai for her suicide attempt, yet she already had a suicide pact with Damon prior to meeting Kai. I'm not buying that whole Damon had more remorse than Kai thing either. Kai tried to prove himself by saving Bonnie on her bday. You think if Bonnie knew that pertinent information she'd still want revenge on Kai so bad??! Either Damon and her friends carelessly withheld this info from her or the writers just got sloppy and left out key Bonnie backstory (its probably latter). Like this is classic drama 101, a good writer would actually want to capitalize off this & use it to their advantage but they left us bonkai fans hanging for no reason. So by extension, Kai is no less or more evil than Damon. I'm so sick of seeing fake Bonnie fans make that pointless argument. At least Kai had an excuse & at some point changed & was no longer a sociopath (post merge). Damon is just a reckless murderer who never learns his lesson, yet the fans think he's somehow more deserving of a meaningful relationship with Bonnie than Kai ever was *Eye roll*. She betrays him first by axe, then sends away her magic, telling Kai "i guess we're stuck here forever". Then acts shocked when Kai pays her back & leaves her in 1995. There's this misconception that bonkai stans overlook this, but we don't. We accept our ship for what it is. Bonnie deserved it... just like Kai deserved to be left in 1903. Obviously her leaving Kai in 1903 is justified, but that whole unforgiving act towards him falls apart bc she never-ever-once tried to do the same same with people like Stefan or Damon, who willingly betrayed her more than once (Enzos death/Abby's death). That's why they trash our favorite ship every chance they get...cognitive dissonance is really a thing. The Salvatores were never Bonnie's friends (at least only in theory) bc the writers did such a poor job at conveying what looked like a one sided relationship where the witch almost always happens to be cocered into using her magic either against her will and/or better judgment.
Bonnie shouldn't have lifted a finger to help anyone after season 6, considering the whole Kai bit supposedly "changed" her. Yet we never saw this development at all bc Bonnie was still annoyingly loyal to Elena & willing to risk life & limb for the same vampires who caused more trauma in her life than Kai ever did. Fans act like Kai was the worst thing to happen to Bonnie. If anything, it should have helped her see who her true friends really are. It's certainly not Damon. Lol & I say this as a Bamon fan, when done the right way.
I love everything about this Ask and I literally don't have anything to add.
Also cognitive dissonance - such a great phrase for describing how it sometimes feels to be a Bonkai shipper in the larger fandom.
I'll Be Home for Christmas: Chapter One
Whenever Bonnie Bennett left Kai Parker in a hell she'd designed just for him, desiccation came quick, and the eternity of suffering was meant to follow. Instead, months later he wakes up to find a familiar face there to visit - for better or for worse.
Dedicated to @koiporker, my fantastic boyfriend who has always supported me
Triggers: Blood, Death, Violence, Abandonment
A03: here
Desiccation as a process was grueling to endure, and Malachai Parker had known that even before he’d landed himself in another prison world. Yet, the gemini had never thought for even a fraction of a second that it would happen to him, not from the moment he saw the more dead than alive corpses in 1903, up until the moment that Bonnie Bennett had left him chained to a chair, sentenced to an eternity of listening to the Spin Doctors crone on as he turned into little more than a man trapped inside of a shell. For the first few hours he tried to fight the chains that bound him, even as they bit into his clothes and his flesh, leaving his blood to seep from his wounds to the floor, only quickening the process. Anger mingled with real fear in those moments, panic rising in his chest the way it had the night his sister had betrayed him in nineteen ninety-four, and by the time he realized what was happening to him, it was too late to do anything about it. He was tired, exhausted in a way he hadn’t been since little Olivia had decided to impale him with a fire poker as he tried to bring the Bennett witch out of the supernatural hell she’d been left in. No good deed went unpunished, and he was atoning for it as his chest felt heavy, and everything felt like it was too hard, up until he feels the unknown agony of veins futility scraping together. His skin had lost its color, and as horrendous as Twin Princes was, he couldn’t really focus on it. No, his final thoughts before it too became to hard to do was of Bonnie Bennett.
Occasionally, he found himself able to make out the faint melody of the music, made out the feeling of the chains against his skin, but he couldn’t do anything about it, and as soon as the sound or sensation came in waned just as quickly. They were always paired with the agony of his body trying to find even a single droplet of blood to bring back to life, and it always came up empty. How long the cycle continued was unknown to him, and he doubted he would ever be able to aptly describe the torture he endured. In conscious moments, he thought Bonnie Bennett, sometimes, even wondering if this was the grief she’d felt the day she lost hope in his prison world. The thoughts are gone shortly after they begin, just like everything else, but they stick with him even still.
It feels like a cruel joke when he starts to wake up again, and the heretic swears he can almost taste blood on his tongue. It feels dragged out as stiff joints come to life, and heavy eyelids are able to open, the vision fuzzy and blurred for the moment as the familiar bar comes into view. It’s only as his vision clears, and the rest of his senses come back to him that the gemini starts to realize it wasn’t a joke at all. The blood is still wet on his tongue, and as painful as it is at first, he can stretch his fingers and move his neck. It wasn’t enough to make him feel like a million bucks, at best he felt like a pocket full of change, but it was a stark improvement to what he had been working with. His thoughts were clouded, probably because his brain had been left to turn into a raisin for who knows how long, but it doesn’t take the heretic long to figure out that the game has changed along with the bar that was meant to serve as his tomb.
The red lighting that illuminated the place remained, but it wasn’t alone now, joined by strings of red and green lights across nearly every wall. The strands of lights aren’t the only new decorations, instead there’s garland and tinsel, the occasional bow or caricature of Santa Claus, all finished off with a bow on the front door. It wasn’t terribly overdone, it certainly didn’t look like a Christmas thrift store threw up over the place, but it was out of place. Perhaps the most pleasant surprise was the fact that the Spin Doctors had been silenced in favor of Christmas songs, though he was sure even the variety here would grow boring with time. Glancing around the bar, he looks for the instigator of this little surprise, and comes up empty. Closing his eyes, he’s able to focus on the sound of a heartbeat, even beyond the music blaring through the speakers, and notes that it’s getting closer. It’s familiar, and when the door finally opens and the heretic opens his eyes, he’s not surprised for a moment to find none other than Bonnie Sheila Bennett holding a box with a santa hat on her head and a bright smile on her lips.
“Wondered when you were going to wake up, I almost thought I didn’t give you enough blood.”
It’s only then that he notices the bandage on her wrist, and realizes that in her endeavor to wake him up that she had spared no expense, feeding him directly from the tap. For just a moment his mind lingers on what that must have entailed, and wondered how he could have missed the momentous event of his lips ghosting along her skin must have been, but then he’s brought back to looking at the Bennett, running his parched tongue along his dry lips.
“You didn’t, but I’ve heard it’s rude to complain to guests.”
His dry remark earns a smirk from the Bennett witch as she lugs the box to a table, setting it down before pulling out food containers, all clearly from a restaurant, and even though he had no real need to eat anymore, it didn’t mean it didn’t make his mouth water just as much as the promise of more Bennett blood did.
”If you’ve had enough to give me an attitude, you’ve had enough.”
He’s able to roll his eyes as the witch pulls a last item out of the box: another santa hat that matches the one that she’s wearing herself. Squinting at it, he watches as the Bennett turns to look at him smugly as she approaches the stage, and alarm bells start going off in his ears.
”So, you came here to what? Tease me? Torture me? I thought it was hot last time, but listening to Christmas music doesn’t get me going, not that I need much help with you here, Bon-Bon.”
The tone of his voice is more suspicious than it is joking, and she only grows closer, her hand reaching inside the hat to fluff it up before she’s finally so close that her heartbeat is pounding in his ears, and the only thought he’s able to process is the desire to dig his fangs into her. Her perfume is nice though, she always smelled so nice, the same way she always looked like an angel, even if she was drug straight from his nightmares. The chains and the chair don’t afford him the luxury of lunging, so he simply scowls as she sticks the hat on his head, fussing with it for just a moment before stepping back and crossing her arms, examining her handiwork.
”It’s Christmas. I spent one alone in a Prison World… and I know no one should be alone on Christmas, even you, Kai. So, we’re going to spend Christmas together, listen to some carols, I’m going to eat and decorate a tree, and you’re going to wear a Santa hat. And then at the end of it, I’m going to go home, and I’ll leave you to your beloved Spin Doctors. Hope you won’t mind the decorations though.”
Moving his neck, the heretic realizes the hat has been securely settled on his head, and whether he likes it or not.
”I thought we agreed we weren’t getting each other anything - now I’m kind of embarrassed I showed up empty handed.”
Sarcasm dripping from his lips, they twitch upwards in a smile, a formation that almost feels foreign now.
”Don’t worry, Kai - this time, I’ll do all the work.”
Oh there were so many ways he could her words, plenty of avenues, but he simply let his smile grow.
”Just tell me you didn’t forget about the mistletoe. It's not Christmas without mistletoe.”
Give Me A Chance
(requested by @selma-prq) BONKAI word count : 1 824 summary : (after Damon leaves 1994) Kai has feelings for Bonnie and she has some feelings for him too , but she keeps trying to deny them. * not my gif __________________
Ever since the first time Kai saw Bonnie there had been something about her that drew him in. He didn’t know if it was because she was the very first person he had seen in 18 years or because of her personality or because she was his ticket out of the Prison world. He just knew he liked her. Being a sociopath , emotions rarely bothered him but things with Bonnie were different. She was brave , loyal … Kai liked that about her. He had never had anyone like her in his life. After the officially met , he tried flirting with her and it was all going perfectly fine until she found out what he had done. For some reason she couldn’t forgive him for that the same way she had forgiven Damon’s many sins. Yet the more she resisted the more he wanted to get her to like him. Even after she had killed him and crossed him not once but twice , he still wanted that.
Kai hadn’t seen coming Bonnie giving up her magic. Part of him had hoped they’d get out , maybe somehow he’d get her to go out on a date with him or something. Instead things never seemed to work out in the way he wanted them to. He had spend so much time alone in the Prison World , his human interraction skills have gone into a deep slumber. Kai couldn’t understand why Bonnie didn’t like him. He was nice … ish. When they had first met he had felt something and he rarely felt anything towards anyone , specially strangers. Kai found himself unexplicably drawn to her , thinking about her all the time even when he didn’t want to. “I can’t believe you chose to send away your magic. That has to be the stupidest thing you’ve ever done. ” said Kai , his hand holding onto Bonnie’s arm practically pulling her after him in the direction of the Salvatore house. “You spent 4 months trying to get it back only to give it away …” “It’s a small price to pay too keep you from getting out.” said Bonnie , wriggling her hand out of Kai’s grasp. “I’d do it all over again in a heart beat.” Kai clenched his jaw for a moment , his eyes piercing into hers. Then he started laughing. ‘Or maybe ’ he thought. ‘she is finally starting to like me and just wanted to be all alone with me.’ Bonnie looked at him confused , unable to figure out what was so funny. She had basically doomed both of them to spend eternity alone together … and then it hit her. Maybe Kai was right. By dooming him , she doomed herself, but there had to be another way out , right ? If such a thing existed , she planned on finding it and getting out on her own. “Ugh … You are unbelievable.” she said turning on her heels and walking away from him. The less time Bonnie spent around Kai , the easier it was for her to shove all those feelings she had for him. Sometimes she wondered if she had gone crazy spending four months only with Damon because before that , she never would’ve fallen for a person like Kai…even if he was one the hottest guys she had met. Bonnie got to the house first , walked upstairs into Damon’s room , tossing herself onto the bed. “Never thought I’d say this … but I miss you , Damon.” she muttered to herself.
-
“Morning.” Kai said hovering over Bonnie who had fallen asleep on the sofa the night before after she and Kai had been playing monopoly because Kai kept insisting ‘it will be fun’. “I made you breakfast.” he said , pulling her up and dragging her towards the kitchen. “Pancakes ! You will love them , they are much better than Damon’s.” Bonnie sat on the table , a plate with pancakes landing in front of her alongside a glass with orange juice and a cup with coffee. “Why are you doing all this ? I will never like you or enjoy your company … ” “Can’t you see I am trying to be nice ? We will be stuck here for all eterntiy , I just want us to get along.” he said , sitting on the opposite side of the table , digging in his pancakes. Bonnie just stared at him. “Oh come on , Bon Bon. You can’t hate me forever. What would you have done in my place ? Let your only chance to go home slip away ? ” Bonnie sighed , glancing at the pancakes. She was hungry and the pancakes looked incredible - fluffy , the perfect shade of golden brown and very appetising. Kai looked at her expectantly. There was something about his eyes this morning that was different and for a moment she actually considered their etenity together. ‘Maybe it won’t be that bad.’ she thought.
“Only because I am hungry.” she said taking a bite from her pancakes. “MMm those are … awful absolutely awful.” Kai squinted his eyes for moment , knowing fully well Bonnie is lying. “Whatever , I know you like them.” he said. “You don’t have to pretend , Bonnie. I see everything that’s going on here…” Bonnie glanced at him , took a few sips from her juice and without a word walked out of the kitchen. “Where are you going ?” “To pick my half of the world..” she called out. “…so I don’t have to listen to you for another second.” she muttered to herself as she walked out the Salvatore Boarding House. It was really hard hating Kai when he was doing gestures like this but it also wasn’t enough to get her to forgive him for shooting an arrow in her abdomen or chasing her in the hospital , nearly choking her afterwards. A minute passed before Kai got up and ran after her , quickly catching up with Bonnie. “Slow down. It’s not like the world is going anywhere.” “Ugh.” “Oh , come on Bonnie. Damon is gone , you don’t have to pretend you don’t like me anymore.” “Who’s pretending?” Bonnie kept walking towards town with Kai at her tail , not slowing down for a second. He took a few steps ahead and blocked her way. “It’s OK I like you too… you are not the ‘most annoying person in the world’ as Damon said. You can teach me to be good.” Bonnie rolled her eyes. Even if what Kai said was true , he was still a psychopath who at any moment might turn on her and kill her without anyone realising it had even happened. “You don’t like me. You are just afraid I’ll find a way out and ditch you behind.” “Oh-kay. That may be partially true but ..” “No 'but’s , Kai. You are not getting out of here , I am not getting out of here. The fact we will both be stuck in this 'wonderful magical world’ doesn’t mean we have to talk or see each other. ” “Ouch.” “Yeah. Ouch. Now move out of my way.” Kai didn’t move an inch and Bonnie pushed her way past him. He grabbed her wrist making her turn around towards him. “You can deny it all you want Bon Bon… but I know the truth. So do you.” Bonnie wriggled her wrist out of Kai’s hands and continued on her way to Mystic Falls , fighting off the butterflies in her stomach and the feeling she had gotten having Kai look at her the way he had.
The next few days were hard to say the least. Kai was annoying as hell , never shutting up. A few times Bonnie actually found herself enjoying his company. When that happened she usually just up and left wherever they were just to stop herself from showing him that he is starting to win her over. He was acting more charming by the minute making it harder for her to deny how his smile was able to make her heart flutter , how his blue eyes could send butterflies in her stomach with one look. That night she went to sleep thinking about him.
-
Kai smiled to himself. He hadn’t had a clue how interesting and fun it could be watching someone sleep. “Morning sleepyhead.” Bonnie opened her eyes , widening in shock at seeing Kai laying on the bed next to her , his hands behind his head. “Sleep well?” “What the hell are you doing in my bed ?! Get out !” “You were drooling in your sleep. Were you dreaming about me ? That would explain the drool.” said Kai grinning , reaching to touch her face. For a moment Bonnie didn’t pull away , then she grabbed his wrist squeezing tight making Kai flinch in pain before pushing him off the bed and onto the floor. Kai got up , a slight smirk on his face as he got onto her bed again. “You like me.” Bonnie sighed in frustration , rolling her eyes.Heart skipped a beat at his words but she quickly shoved all the feelings away. “No , I don’t. What do you even hear when I speak to you ? I DON’T LIKE YOU.” “But you were dreaming about me. I know you were. You said my name in your sleep.” Bonnie froze for a moment , clenching her jaw. She had been in fact dreaming about him. He had been lurking in her dreams a lot the past few days but she didnt plan on sharing that with him. “No , I haven’t. Why would I dream about you ? Find something else to obsess about.” she got up from the bed , briskly walking to the door. Kai got up after Bonnie quickly catching up with her , gripping her wrist making her turn around. He quickly backed her against the wall , his hands on either side of her boxing her in. He was breathing heavily , not because he had been running , but because he wanted to kiss her. “Kai …” Bonnie’s heart racing , her eyes trying to avoid his. He was standing too close to her , so close she could feel his breath on her face. He was leaning in and a part of her (she was no longer sure how dominant that part had gotten) wanted him to. “Give me a chance Bon Bon.” he whispered slowly backing away from her. “It is all I ask. We can be friends , I know we can.” It took her more than few seconds to recover , for her breathing to stop being shallow and for the sound of her heart pounding to disappear. “If I do , will you stop following me everywhere ?” she said crossing her hands on her chest. All she wanted was to get him to stop with all the sneaking behind her back and if she had to pretend , she would. Though she wondered if thats what she’d actually be doing. A moment ago she had nearly thrown herself at him. Kai put his hands in his pockets and winked at her. “It is possible , yes.” “Okay then.” she said heading downstairs towards the kitchen. “What are you making me for breakfast ?”
Bonkai no.27
After many months in my inbox, I present to you this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Kiss me.”
"I'm sorry, I didn't catch that?" He looked at her dumbfounded. He honestly did not expect Bonnie Bennett, head cheerleader, prom queen, and all around good girl to ask him, the school freak that.
"I said kiss me."
"Why?"
"Why?" She looked outraged. "If you don't want to kiss me just say so."
"No, no, wait, it's not that. It's just...I've been kinda think about this moment since 6th grade and in none of the scenarios were we in the boys locker room and I was wearing more than a towel." He squeaked the last part out.
"That's funny, because this is exactly how I imagined kissing you."
"You planned the boys locker room?"
"No, just you with little clothes."
"That feels a little unfair, maybe you should lose some clothes."
"Don't push it. Just shut up and kiss me, Parker."
"Don't have to tell me twice."
"But apparently third time's the charm."

FF | AO3 | WP
CHAPTER THREE: Everything Above
Damon grabbed that hand and removed it from his shoulder. There was a muscular pissing contest as their biceps flexed and bulged with the pressure of the seemingly friendly handshake. "The moment you screw up, Kai? I'll be here to escort her back to Mystic Falls. Where she belongs."
There was a sudden darkness in the depths of Kai's eyes. He gave that listless smile, the one that curved the lips but strayed far from the eyes. "Bonnie isn't a possession, Damon. She will stay where she's happy. Whether that's with me until we're old and gray or whether that's away from me and still away from Mystic Falls."
Kai leaned in just a little closer as his eyes narrowed. "Whatever her decision may be, if you try to disrupt whatever peace she's found?" His voice lowered to a vehement rush of words. "I'll stick you in a hell of my own design and make the world forget you ever existed."
He smiled again, using his other hand to pat Damon on the shoulder. As if to accentuate this tender friendly moment. That smile reached his eyes this time. "I promise."
Stefan moved between them with a sigh. "Can we not do this today?" He looked at his brother with a frown. "You've just gotten back in her good graces. This is about her - not you." Damon growled under his breath as he and Kai finally released their holds on each other.

We’re All Fighting For Those We Love
kai parker x bonnie bennett
summary: no matter how many times damon annoyed bonnie in the prison world, she'd always come back to him. the two had a friendship kai never understood. so after the wedding tragedy and the revelation of his sleeping curse, kai fully expected damon to heal his close friend and let her live out the rest of her life. never did he think the vampire would be willing to let her die to save his girlfriend. as it turns out, he was mistaken.
tags: s06e22, angst, betrayal, character almost dies, minor blood drinking, love confessions
word count: 1.8k
a/n: @bonnie-sheila-bennett finally produced a bonkai fic, but it’s so angsty, i’m sorry! i’m finding that i introduce myself to a new character / ship by writing angst first, so fluff is in the future, but for now we’re ✨sad✨. though i really hope you like it!! 💗
Tumblr media
“You can kill her, and save your precious girlfriend now, or you can wait a couple decades for her to wake. The choice is yours.”
Damon doesn’t answer. He stares at Kai, eyes cold and jaw tense, biting back a reply. He looks down at Bonnie as he still holds her head. She lets out a shaky breath, death creeping up on her. It’s quiet for too long; the three stay completely still, wondering who will break the silence. Then, the man gently kisses the woman’s forehead before setting her on the hard ground.
“I’m sorry, BonBon,” he whispers. He doesn’t spare Kai a second glance before speeding out of the barn.
Kai waits a moment, certain he’ll be back. Full of rage, seeking revenge, fire in his eyes, he’ll be back. Bonnie takes another shallow breath. Blood seeps from her wounds.
He doesn’t come back.
Two minutes pass. He’s a vampire; if he wanted to save her, he would’ve done it by now. Damon Salvatore can clear a room of enemies in less than that time if he really wanted. But he doesn't. He only wants Elena.
His answer is his absence. He won’t be coming back to heal his friend, because she’s the only thing standing in the way of him getting his lover back. Her death promises his happiness.
Kai’s heart sinks as he realizes this.
The fact that Damon will sacrifice his friend’s life for his lovers.
The fact that Bonnie will take her last breath after celebrating the fortune of another.
The fact that Kai will have been the one to kill her.
His breath catches in his throat.
He can’t be the one to kill her.
That was supposed to be Damon’s job. He was supposed to do it. The fault was meant for him. Because then, if he was the one to blame, Kai wouldn’t feel so guilty about bringing all this down on the woman he’s grown to love.
Fucking idiot, his mind tells him, you’re not capable of love. You’re not allowed to love.
He doesn’t move. His head and heart continue to fight.
You don’t love her. You’re just desperate for attention. You don’t know what love is. Even if you did, she’d never love you back. You’re not worthy; not able, the head argues. The heart replies, you’ve learned to love. All those feelings you buried deep resurface when you look at her. Don’t you feel them? The way your hands get hot, and your brain gets fuzzy, and your mouth gets dry. The way she smiles, and walks, and can toss a sarcastic comment right back without missing a beat. It’s okay to admit you love her.
A single light flickers out overhead. It makes the smallest tink sound as it dies suddenly. He looks at it, then back at the woman on the floor. She doesn’t have much longer; they both know it.
Yet, with one of her last breaths, she calls to him. Swallowing her pride and hatred for the man who’s shown her nothing but cruelty, she asks for mercy. “Kai?”
Not a second more does he hesitate. Instantly, he’s at her side, kneeling onto the ground, hands reaching for her head. He bites into his wrist, forcing her to drink. Something he’s seen Damon do several times before; something he was supposed to do tonight.
He expected Bonnie to push him away; resist, or even spit up in his face, but instead, she drinks without question. In a matter of seconds, her wounds start to heal, but her breathing doesn’t catch up as quickly.
“I don’t want to die,” she mutters.
If she dies, she’ll have to transition. She’ll lose her magic. She’ll become the thing that killed both her mother and her Grams.
“I won’t let you die,” he promises. He keeps his wrist at her mouth, but mutters a quick spell. Finally, her breathing catches up with the rest of her body. When she pulls off his arm, she’s able to breathe on her own.
He doesn’t let her go, though, and she doesn’t try to move. He continues to hold her upright, her head on his chest, his arms wrapped around her waist. The woman is strong. She doesn’t cry, despite coming so close to death. One could argue that she’s used to it after so many similar experiences, though the truth is that she’s afraid to show too much around him.
Kai, on the other hand, isn’t so durable. He’s never been good at controlling his emotions. He’s been able to lock them away, but never face them. When the reality of the situation hits him, the first tear rolls down his face. The realization that the only person he’s ever felt love towards almost died, and it would’ve been his fault. The recognition of just how much blood is on his hands.
He bites his tongue when one of his tears hits her cheek. He prepares for the verbal beating.
 It doesn’t come. She remains silent, even when another wets her face, and another.
Kai wonders if this is about the time that a normal person who is sorry for something says so. He doesn’t quite understand the ways of ‘typical’ people, but maybe all that matters is an attempt.
“I’m sorry.” It’s a whisper, but it’s one she hears.
Slowly, she unravels herself out from his arms. She positions her body to sit across from him, though their knees still touch.
“Why did you let me live?” Her tone hides her fear well, but Kai can still pick it out from the layers of her voice. The shakiness that stumbles out as she speaks the last word.
“I didn’t want you to die,” he admits, puzzled by his own truth.
She takes a deep breath. “Then why did you kill me?”
Again, he spits truth before he can form a lie. “Because it’s in my nature.”
“No it’s not.”
He narrows his eyebrows.
“As awful as you’ve been to me and my friends, you weren’t born evil. You may try to convince everyone that you are, and maybe part of you is, but not all.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Because you just kept me alive when I was seconds from death.”
Kai’s quiet for a moment, not sure how to respond. Then, “so is Damon evil? Because he left you to die.”
“I’ve seen Damon do things that are good and evil. I don’t think he can be characterized by either definition.” She picks up a shard of glass between her fingers. “But maybe no one is either, and we’re just fighting for those we love.”
“Do you really believe that?”
“I do.”
“Who do you fight for?”
“My friends, keeping them safe, and reminding them of my love. For my Grams, to make her proud, because I know she’s still watching over me. For myself, too, because I’m worthy of my own love.”
There’s those butterflies again, eating away at his stomach.
Bonnie looks at him through the glass. “What about you?”
“What?”
“Who do you fight for?”
“I don’t love.”
“Sure you do. You fight to stay alive. That’s fighting for yourself.”
“I guess.”
“Is that it?”
“I don’t know.”
She puts the glass back down and turns her head at him. A sassy look on her face as she challenges him to think.
“Can you love someone that doesn’t love you back?”
“Of course. I’ve been in that situation with love interests and friends alike.”
Kai ponders this. Two lies pop into his head. My mom. Jo. No. Don’t ruin this one good conversation of your life with lies. Don’t be still when I’m begging you to move. He looks at her, and considers asking, can I be honest with you? But decides against it.
“I think I love you.”
The witch swallows hard. Confusion dances in her eyes, questions float about her mind, but she doesn’t run.
“I, uh,” he wets his lips with his tongue. He’s shared too much. Talking will only make it worse. Yet he can’t stop himself. “If I’ve ever felt what it’s like to be loved, I don’t remember it. I couldn’t remember what it was like to ever love someone, either, until I realized I felt it for you. I know I’ve treated you awfully, and I know I don’t deserve it, but I don’t want to lie about it to you. Not anymore.”
Another light goes out in the string over their heads. Kai fears it’s a metaphor.
He stands up quickly and dusts off his suit. His eyes search for the nearest escape.
“Kai,” Bonnie says suddenly, standing up with him, and grabbing his arm.
He meets her eyes, both unable to read the other’s expressions.
“You’ve done a lot of damage today. You took lives that weren’t yours to take. You brought pain and eternal suffering to a day that should’ve ended in laughter and a lifetime of promise for a young couple, one of those two being your own sister.”
“I know, I-”
“And I want to hate you for it. I want to scream, and push you away, and tell you to go to hell.” Her grip on his arm tightens. Her nails draw blood into his skin. “But I don’t hate you. I can’t. I’ve tried to, and I can’t.”
He blinks in confusion.
“So do me a favor. Stop playing God, stop the games, and the torment, and the curses. Stop hurting people on the off-chance they might hurt you. I know we just had this conversation, and I know you fight for yourself, but there are other ways to protect yourself that don’t have to end in bloodshed.”
“I don’t know any other way,” he murmurs, barely above a whisper.
She responds just as quietly. Under his new transition, he hears it like a shout. “If you’re willing to fight for me, you will learn.” She turns to leave, but he stops her one more time.
“Where are you going?”
“To heal. I’m going to visit my best friend, and I’m going to check up on my other one. And then I’m going to take a nap.” Before he can ask another question, she follows with, “and you, too, are going to heal. And maybe, when you’ve settled the war inside your head, I can help mend the one inside your heart.”
With that said, all he can do is watch her walk away. It’s not a promise, but it’s something he can work for; a reason he’d fight to be better.
Kai looks around at the scene. The battle. The bloodshed. He regrets it already. But yet, maybe it was necessary to finally get the woman’s attention. She spoke to him gently, though with a fierceness he needed to hear. Now he has to work to earn her forgiveness. And to fight for the newfound emotion he thought he’d lost, that he will do.

Oh no problem☺ I can tell you had fun too and like you do with all your writing what I've read so far you put so much passion and life into these characters. The way you write them you just get it perfectly especially Stefan 🥰 one of your posts from what I think I remember you wrote you love how he is so passionate like he's all or nothing he fights hard loves hard but can also spiral recklessly and tries to atone for it and do better and he does. I'm like EXACTLY what I love about him I mean there's also Stefan/Paul looking like a Greek God 😏 and his voice😍 and Paul is an amazing actor. Anyways😂 and the way that ripper is always luring underneath PERFECT the moment you wrote elena and his sort of quarrel at the masquerade and she says she knows what it's like and he just tells her how he feels but then you also keep him stoic like I will NEVER get tired of reading these, also library sex the Atonement reference! I'm screaming😆❤ and then Bonkai scene then Demon hears it😂 like nothing compares to your writing Zal there's no end to the angst, smut, fluff and surprises. I can't wait to read your new Stelena fics the 3 parts and then the 2x15 1x20 fics I hearted it and I hope I don't lose them been working all week and I felt like I deserved a break so I was like oh yay! I have those fics to look forward to so Thank you!❤
Oh I'm excited for you to read the new ones :)

Forever mad that Bonnie was always treated as less desirable than the white girls and never got to be glamorous. She should've been at the Mikaelson ball, from a plot perspective too since Esther was gonna be tapping into her family's magic, would've given anything for Bonnie to wow everybody in a beautiful gown and have a little fun dancing. But she's only ever brought in to be the magical fix-it before she's shuffled away to irrelevancy
You and me both.
Like, listen, I am gayer than Elton John's fanny pack, which means I only started this show because of the guys, but even I can appreciate the beauty that is Kat Graham. I'm not blind! And I don't know how Plec and her cronies could be either.
The fact that her romance with Jeremy felt so last minute, like they just came up with it to not appear racist at all, and then they immediately fuck it up by having Jeremy cheat on Bonnie with a ghost. I mean, that whole Bonnie-Jeremy-Anna thing was a mess and I could rant about that for days as well as Elena's hypocritical reaction to it (or toward Jeremy in general), but that's a conversation for another time.
But that ball/party in particular, where everyone in Mysitc Falls was invited to the Mikaelson mansion except Bonnie (and Tyler) was infuriating. We couldn't have gotten to see Bonnie in a nice dress or Tyler in a dashing suit, because no. Tyler was off having to hurt himself over and over again so that he could break free of Klaus, who was busy moving in on Caroline, and Bonnie was wherever they had her. We couldn't have had her he Kol's date, given that they decided later to make him into such a witch enthusiast? Instead of just some random extra dancing with Kol or Elijah or Finn, we couldn't have used Bonnie, the other girl on the main cast that is constantly left on the wayside? We couldn't have had Bonnie meet with Esther, with the former helping Elena escape Damon's "protection" so that they could all talk?
No, we can't have any of that, because Bonnie wasn't there to be seen as a viable romantic option for anyone. That would have distracted the viewers from Klaus' "courtship" of Caroline and us getting to see his "soft side", or Elena being torn once again between two brothers (how original - ba dum tsh) or Rebekah backtracking on killing Matt because he was nice to her. There was so much extra fluff in that episode that could have been altered to allow for Bonnie to be there.
Julie Plec really didn't view black people as human beings, did abe?
And that's true of all of her black characters throughout this franchise. I can't speak for Legacies, but seeing as how Bonnie was the sole black character on The Vampire Diaries and was constantly the third (or fifth) wheel was infuriating. Even when they finally gave her that romance with Enzo, that was a clear attempt to recreate Delena without Elena being there and then also a substitute for those deranged fans who desperately wanted Bamon for some reason. (And that's not even getting into the fans who were pushing for Bonkai, which.... no!)
But then we seing down to New Orleans in The Originals, which was still lacking in black characters (or any characters of color) and it's the same situation.
We have Marcel, whose only romantic options were Cami (who ended up moving on to Klaus) and Gia (who ended up moving on to Elijah) and the his big "epic" romance with Rebekah, which... blegh! I know I often mock the borderline incestuous and highly codependent relationship between the Mikaelson siblings, but there's nothing borderline about the whole Rebekah and Marcel thing. That's just straight up incest. Dude grew up with this family, looking at Klaus as his father figure (insert white savior trope here), which would make Rebekah his aunt. She watched him grow up from a little boy and still harbored sexual feelings? That's straight up nasty. And the fact that they ended the show on that romance makes me want to puke.
And it wasn't just them. We also had Vincent, who had a few flings with others (before the seer ended up dead, if what I was told was correct) and whose only significant romance happened before the show started, and she ended up turning evil and insane and then being basically worn as a fashion statement by Rebekah until Aya slit her throat. Speaking of Aya (looks over and sees another white male savior trope/romance with Elijah)... on second thought, let's not. And then there was Keelin, whose "romance" with Freya was the straw that broke the camel's back and made me rage-quit the show, because as I stated multiple times, that wasn't romance, that was Stockholm syndrome!
But back to Bonnie, I've always said that the greatest ship that never sailed on that show was Matt and Bonnie, because those two wanted nothing to do with the vampire problems that were constantly being thrown at them, and our of all the guys on the show, Matt was the least problematic. Tyler would have been a good option, too, if Plec and her cronies hadn't been so hellbent on treating him like a literal animal.

SWITCH
(requested by @charmedbella93) BONKAI word count : 1 873 summary : Bonnie and Kai do a spell , ending up switching bodies accidentally. *not my gif (this story was so confusing to write , after the switch : Kai / Bonnie = Bonnie in Kai ’s body ;  Bonnie / Kai = Kai in Bonnie’s body. ) _______________________ Kai had no idea how Bonnie had convinced him to help her with that spell. Neither did he expect things to end up like this.  Everything had been fine , well almost. The spell hadn’t worked exactly how they expected and Stefan’s mind was still lost somewhere in that broken pendant. Bonnie had been the one to to enter the pendant and try and find Stefan but when she had opened her eyes things were more than strange. “Bonnie ? What am I doing on the ground and …. why am I looking at myself ?” asked Kai after he got up from the ground. Kai/ Bonnie stared at him with a shocked expression.“What the hell did you do ?!” “Me ? I haven’t done anything !” said Bonnie  , words tumbling from Kai’s mouth. Kai looked at his hands … except those were not his hands. He ran to the mirror in the hall nearly getting a heart attack. Kai was looking at himself but it wasn’t his reflection in the mirror. It was Bonnie’s. “Eww gross.” appeared Kai / Bonnie  next to him , moving a step closer to the window. “Whatever you did , reverse it now.” she demanded. “OH you think I’d let you take over my body and on purpose do this to myself ?!” snapped Bonnie / Kai. “Yeah of course. Because my life long dream has been getting stuck in a Freaky Friday scenario with you of all people !” Bonnie crossed her hands … his hands on her chest giving him an accusatory glare. Whatever had happened they had to figure out a way to switch back because she missed her body and later that night she was supposed to go out with Enzo. Things would be pretty awkward if - “Hello gorgeous.” said Enzo with a smile walking towards them. “Excited for our date tonight ?” Enzo put his arm across Bonnie / Kai ’s  shoulders leaning in to kiss her but his hand and face got pushed away.  This entire situation was beyond bizarre and for a moment Kai wondered if he wasn’t dreaming or something because there was no way this could be real. “Ewww get your hands off me ! I’m not Bonnie. And I am definitely NOT going on a date with you … ever.” said Kai turning towards Bonnie. “Fix this ! You know what , I’ll fix it because this is all YOUR fault.” Enzo glanced between Bonnie and Kai ,shaking his head in confusion wondering what he might’ve done to get Bonnie upset with him. “W-what is going on here ? And why won’t you kiss me ?” wondered Enzo , putting his hands on Bonnie’s waist and leaning in to kiss her. “How many times ? I am NOT Bonnie , I am KAI.” shouted Kai  as Enzo dropped on the ground holding his hands on his head screaming in pain until Kai snapped his neck with magic. Kai turn Bonnie . “Don’t even think about putting my lips over his or I will kill you as soon as we get switched back because I am not killing myself …” Kai grabbed Bonnie’s hand pulling her down the hall into the living room again. “I’ll call you later. Love you.” said Kai / Bonnie to Enzo’s lifeless body on the ground. “Don’t use my voice to stay those words… UGHH!!” Kai sat on the ground angrily flipping pages of the grimoar , trying to find a spell to switch them back.  What he had done to deserve this ? Sure he wasn’t a model citizen but still … of all things that had ever happened in his life this was by far the weirdest most maddening thing of all. Kai was turning the pages so fast he barely got a look at them , his frustration getting the best out of him. “Aren’t you going to help me Bonnie?! I thought you wanted us to switch back as much as I do!” he paused a moment. “If you like my body so much I’d let you -” “No. Never.” said Bonnie sitting on the floor next to him. “Give me this. I’ll fix it.” “Sure you will. ‘Bonnie Bennett will save the day yet again.’ No ! I’ll fix this … ” said Kai. He focused on the pages , a sigh of frustration leaving his lips /Bonnie’s lips. A few minutes passed and Bonnie kept glancing over his shoulder , getting him more annoyed by the second. He ignored the feeling and kept reading. There was spell that could reverse this , he was sure of it… it was easy for him to be sure considering he didnt like the alternative. About half an hour passed when Damon walked into the living room , freezing on the spot seeing Kai’s chin resting on Bonnie’s shoulder. By the looks of it , they still haven’t found a way to bring his brother back  but that’s not what bothered him. “Step away from the Bennett witch. Now.” said Damon waltzing into the room , pulling Kai off Bonnie. “She doesn’t need you or your … charm distracting her. Plus she has a boyfriend.” Bonnie / Kai laughed , glancing at Damon holding Kai / Bonnie by the shirt lifting him off the ground. “What’s so funny ?” asked the vampire. “Nothing. You wouldn’t hurt Bonnie would you Damon ?” asked Kai.  "Because that’s exactly what you are about to do…“ Damon glanced at Bonnie on the floor and Kai back and forth , getting more confused by the second. He was missing something but couldn’t figure out what. "What do you mean that’s what I am about to do ?” he hissed letting Kai / Bonnie’s feet on the ground. “See how they treat me ? Even when I am trying to help … ” said Bonnie / Kai , a hint of hurt in his voice. “No respect , no 'hello kai , hows your day going’. No. They just assume …Hey maybe that switch will finally get you to see how awful your friends truly are Bon Bon.” “Okay. What are you talking about Bonnie?” “I’m Bonnie.”  said Kai / Bonnie waving her hand at Damon. “This idiot got the spell wrong and we switched bodies.” “HEY !” exclaimed Bonnie / Kai. “It wasn’t all my fault. You were too distracted starring at my gorgeous face. Admit it. Not that I blame you. Who can resist a face like this ?” he said gesturing towards his own face a few meters away. “Can we get back to fixing this mess ?! I have a date with Enzo and I doubt he’d want to kiss this.” said Kai / Bonnie pointing at Kai’s face. “I don’t believe you.” said Damon to Kai / Bonnie . “Just fix the damn pendant and get my brother back in his body.”   “Gladly … as soon as we switch back.” said Bonnie / Kai. Damon turned towards Kai (’s body) giving him a death stare and walked over to pour himself a glass with bourbon. His gaze fixed on Kai who sat down next to Bonnie. He watched them for a while and then Caroline called him about some incident at the Grill and he had to leave them alone again. Bonnie looked at Kai , well - herself , and thought that maybe Kai was right. Everyone always just assumed he’d do something or that he had done something and there he was - helping them again trying to show them he is changing. “I’m sorry.” she said to him. Kai turned towards her with a mix of surprise and suspicion on his face. “You are sorry ? F-for what ?” “For assuming things. Here , let me help. We are in this mess together , maybe working together will help us fix it.” Kai sat there , watching her flip page after page… and smiled to himself. Maybe it was a good thing this accident happened and he’d finally find people to see he is trying to be better. “Lets try this one.” said Bonnie pointing at the spell on the left page. She held out her hands waiting for him to take them. He did and they began chanting. All of the sudden the pillows on the sofa went poof - splashing feathers everywhere. “Nope. Definitely not the right spell.” she said , trying hard not to laugh. Kai however couldn’t help it and rolled on the floor laughing. “Fantastic ! I can see Damon’s face when he gets home and realises he has to clean up everything.” said Kai blowing a feather about to land on his nose. “This will be hilarious. Remind me to take a video for youtube!” “Stop laughing please , we have to fix this or Damon will kill you , me … whatever.” she said reaching for his hand and pulling him back into seating position. “Okay , okay… Jeez Bon Bon , loosen up. We got this.” he said glancing at her with a smile on his face. “Give me the grimoar. I think I found something before Damon showed up.” Bonnie handed him the spell book and Kai flipped a few pages opening it almost in the middle humming some song. He seemed different , or maybe it was because she was looking at herself. “There. Lets try this one.”  he said taking her outstretched hands and they tried again… resulting in the chandelier falling with a loud thud from the ceiling onto the ground a few meters away from them. “Damon will be soooo mad about this one ..” he muttered to himself , flipping a few pages backwards. “I don’t get it. Why isn’t it working ?! I don’t want to be stuck in a female body for the rest of my life … I mean , no offence Bon Bon , you have nice body but I’d like to have mine back.” Bonnie rolled her eyes at his comment and took a deep breath. “We got this , remember ? Your words , not mine.” said Bonnie taking the grimoar from his lap , her gaze falling on a spell. She pointed it out to him , taking his hands in hers. “One more time. It’s the right spell , I can feel it.” Kai sighed and both of them closed their eyes chanting. He really hoped this was the right spell. He missed his vampire body and part of him worried they’d be stuck together. This whole accident may have ruined him helping people for good. All of the sudden he felt dizzy and blacked out. “Kai ? Kai wake up !” someone shook his shoulders. Kai opened his eyes looking around the room seeing Bonnie leaning over him.There were no feathers anywhere and the chandelier was hanging above him on the ceiling. He got up quickly , running in a vampire speed towards the mirror in the hall. His hands touched his face making sure he is back. “Wow , Bon Bon … you would not believe the dream I had.” he said laughing. Bonnie was sitting on the sofa , her hands crossed on her chest. “It wasn’t a dream Malachai.” she said getting up. “What ? You mean that … actually happened ? We switched bodies and Enzo tried to kiss me ?” he asked shocked and Bonnie nodded. “Do you want some coffee ? I’d rather sit down and not discuss that anymore.” she said smiling at him. “Um … yeah , yeah sure.” he said smiling nervously. “Whoa what a strange day ! How do you think that happened ?” Bonnie glared at him rolling her eyes trying to suppress a smile. He kept talking and talking absolutely ignoring what she had said a few minutes ago. “Lets never do that again.” he said finally. “Agreed.” ____________________________ MASTERLIST March / April 2017 MASTERLIST MAY 2017 MASTERLIST JUNE 2017 ____________________________ NOTE : I am not sure if this is what you had in mind , but I hope you still like it : - )

Bonnie Headcannon: How they propose
Matt:
I know it's not much, and I can't offer you a lot, all I can give you is my heart, even though you already have it, but will you accept it. I guess what I'm trying to say is will you marry me?
Tumblr media
Tyler:
We've been through so much and I think it's time we get a little happiness. Will you marry me, Bonnie?
Tumblr media
Nora:
You know, when I was younger I dreamed of the day I could ask a beautiful girl to marry me, and now that that day is actually here I can say, it lived up to the hype. Will you be my wife?
Tumblr media
Kol:
I desire rare things, and there’s nothing more rare than you.If you will allow, I would love to spend an eternity with you. Marry me.
Tumblr media
Stefan:
All my life I’ve been seeking redemption only to find that that wasn’t possible. Instead of losing hope I found you. This bright light in the sea of darkness. I couldn’t help but wonder how I would ruin it. How I would dim that light. I almost left so many times in fear, but you were always my light. I’m glad to have known you and loved you Bonnie Bennett and if you’ll allow me I want to spend the rest of your life with you. Will you marry me?
Tumblr media
Klaus:
My clever little witch, it seems you have stolen something from me again--my heart. So it seems I only have one choice. Make you my wife.
Tumblr media
Damon:
I’m not a nice guy, have never been a nice, nor will I ever be a nice guy. It’s just not in my nature--I will always pick the easy way and unfortunately that’s never the good way. And then there’s you--you don’t know how to be anything but good even when you try to do the wrong thing it’s always for good reasons, so you can understand my complete befuddlement that you would ever love a man like me. I’m not the kind of guy girls like you fall for. I’m the kind of guy that sends people running in the other direction, and their right for doing so. But there you are right by my side. I truly do not know what I would do without you, and don’t want to find out.  Bonnie, my little bird, will you marry me?
Tumblr media
Elijah:
I have more than enjoyed our time with one another and I wish for it not to end. Would you do me the great honor of becoming my wife Ms. Bennett?
Tumblr media
Rebekah:
All I've ever wanted was to love and have someone love me back just as much. I’d be lying if I said I always thought it’d be you, but I’m so unbelievably happy that it was. I know I’m loud, petty, and vindictive, and you’re more than I deserve, but I’d have to be an idiot to not try. Will you marry me, Bonnie Bennett?
Tumblr media
Kai:
You really do have really nice hands. They’d look even better wearing this.
