Today is Black Mountain Side but off the top of my head also The Collector, Dogtooth and Straw Dogs but I’m half asleep and also a large quantity are sort of forgettable films. Trust me though, often but mostly in the horror genre (not that surprising as it can set up fear before people start to snuff it) as soon as you see a family has a cat or there’s just one around, the remains of it will be found less than 20 minutes later.

I know this is in general to other pets on film too, like it happens to dogs and rabbits, smaller animals like rats and such but there is that intrinsic thing where the reaction to seeing this on film for a dog is as if a terrible and great injustice happened whereas if it is a cat then ‘eh’ because they are ‘evil’ and whatever. 

I’ve seen a lot of horror films and odd films in general and if there is an animal that suffers, it’s more than likely a cat than any other animal.

Haha, thanks for the replies! Your kindness means a lot. It happened a long time ago now, so I'm at peace with it and I'm comfy in my ugliness. But thanks. I hope my post did its job, though, and made people who were feeling shitty feel a bit better about their Valentine's Day.

I feel the same way about Secretary, I really didn’t like it and when I spoke about it at a family function like 4 of my uncles bought it cos I said it had S/M in it- weird family!

I'm with you, I found it a quite uncomfortable experience. Also I kept going 'Ow, ow' so there's that. HAHA wow, well that's a reaction to take I suppose. I'd be glad my remaining family are all far away if they went out and bought some of things I'd have to yell about.
