Hugo Blanco Y Su Arpa Viajera - Infinito (1962)

Probably one of my favorite releases in the last few years was Saturno 2000 - La Rebajada de Los Sonideros 1962​-​1983, a collection of slowed down (rebajada) mostly cumbia tunes.  The oldest song, Infinito by Venezuelan artist Hugo Blanco y Su Arpa Viajera almost sounds like something off of a Morricone Spaghetti western soundtrack.

sorry but uhm.. mayonnaise is made with raw eggs + oil + vinegar/lemon juice (ev.) + salt...? as a kid I used to eat "zabaione/zabaglione" (=eggnot/egg flip? Idk the translation) as a snack sometimes: my mother took an egg, broke it in a cup, added sugar and mixed it all up until it became a cream... sooo good! (adults version has a bit of wine in it as well) not to mention when preparing cakes and having parts of eggs left... yum! :D

How the Resident girlies will spend Christmas with you as Christmas is just around the corner.

1. Bela

Bela gives you the greatest Christmas gift she could get you: taking a day off.

Bela's way to relax with you is to take you both away from home related drama. So she'd fly you away to a European country for a white Christmas. How about Germany?

You both would walk hand in hand around the snow laden streets of Berlin, enjoying the Christmas spirit.

Bela's favourite Christmas drink is mulled wine. She loves to make it personally for you. You love the warm and sweet spicy taste of it.

2. Donna

You and Donna had to keep the flower shop open during the day, as a lot of people buy last minute flowers. However, you and Donna both made sure to spend a lot of time together decorating the shop for Christmas.

Donna keeps on holding the mistletoe over you. You of course have no choice but to follow the tradition and kiss her. Not that you need any tradition to kiss your soft Italian florist.

In the evening you both decide to celebrate in the beautifully decorated shop itself. You both set the chairs and table and Donna sings Italian Christmas carols for you. Having Christmas dinner surrounded by red and white roses is a experience you'll never forget.

Donna's favourite Christmas drink is Bombardino, a Italian christmas drink quite similar to eggnog. Angie often tries to spike it. You let her do it, because drunk Donna is a adorable Donna.

3. Cassandra

Cassandra is a total Broadyway bish and she'll be taking you to catch the The Christmas Spectacular show in New York.

After the show, you both would be go to Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and take so many cute selfies together that your phone memory would explode.

Cassandra and you would soon have enough of crowded New York streets and just retreat back home. There you both will order in some pizza and spend the Christmas night cuddling and watching musicals.

Cassandra's favourite Christmas drink is hot buttered rum. It is warm and cosy and not boring, just like Cassandra herself.

4. Angie

Angie is your resident party girl, but for Christmas, she'll stay home, with you. She wants to spend the next morning waking up with you without a hangover.

Still, there would be some drinks around. But nothing too boozy. Angie would spend Christmas cooking together with you and watching Italian soap operas with you.

Angie and you would also play a lot of board games. Especially Jenga, where you would loose for the umpteenth time. Getting drunk regularly has given Angie a excellent sense of balance.

Angie's favourite Christmas drink is Limoncello, a sweet and tangy lemon drink with dashes of alcohol. It's something that both you and Angie can enjoy without getting completely hammered.

5. Daniela

Dani is all about creating the perfect romantic dates for you. So she'll set up lights and Christmas decorations at home for the perfect Christmas date.

Dani all throughout the dinner (that she herself cooked) would tell you about the Christmas she spent at Dimiterescu Mansion. Hearing how close the Dimiterescu sisters were during childhood would always bring a smile to your face.

You and Dani after dinner would dance around the room on Christmas songs. Dani would especially loudly sing "All I want for Christmas is you".

Dani's favourite Christmas drink is a simple hot chocolate. She makes sure to put extra marshmallow on top of yours.

6. Alcina Dimiterescu

You would spend the Christmas with Alcina at her extravagant Dimiterescu Mansion. Alcina has made sure to deck every floor with Christmas decorations.

Alcina has also made sure to have her personal chef make a feast for Christmas. Stuffed turkey, buttery mashed potatoes, you name it, it's there on the table. Alcina makes sure you have a little taste of everything by her own hands.

Later, you and Alcina would spend the Christmas night painting together. You'd model in Santa clothes (how skimpy is your imagination) while Alcina happily paints on her canvas.

Alcina's favourite Christmas drink is Catena Malbec Wine. She serves it to you with a side of cheese and cured meats.

7. Miranda

Miranda bestows upon you the greatest Christmas gift she could ever give you: taking a day off.

Miranda is a homebody, so Christmas with her would be a homely and cozy affair. She would make a comforting dinner for you. You would be sitting on the kitchen counter and just watching her move around as old Christmas songs play in the background.

Miranda and you are both bibliophiles, so it's no wonder you both would curl up on a large comfy chair together and read Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

Miranda's favourite Christmas drink is Vișinată, a Romanian sour cherry brandy. Miranda makes sure you drink it slowly so that you don't get too drunk.

-You’d be lying if you said you didn’t enjoy it though, you could always count on him to be there for you.

-Her favorite pass time with you was staring at and tracing your freckles. Especially when they were glowing. No matter how many times you’d say she has them too, she’s claim that yours were prettier.

-You couldn’t lie, it made you a bit giddy, you appreciated all of the small compliments.

- She had many questions for you, and only you. No matter how difficult she knew it was for you to answer. She only felt comfortable bombardino you with them you assumed.

-She always praised you. Sometimes, you were a little embarrassed by how she’d notice exactly when you needed to hear it. Her observation skills were a 10/10, but then again, so was everything to you about her.

-She was honestly your rock, if you had a bad day, she’d go find something to make you feel better, if you were having a good day, she’d make it even better, her #1 priority was keeping you smiling.

Lopez *the short king with no shirt on*

-He often struggled with the Na’vi language, but he loved to hear you speak it.

-He’d ask you to say a lot of things in Na’vi, regardless if he understood it or not, which led to a lot of repetitive conversation.

-You didn’t mind though, you sometimes did the same to him with his Spanish.

-He liked to tell you about the traditions his family would follow that were similar to yours, it made both of you feel more understanding of each other.

-His love language was gift giving, be it something to eat, or something to wear, he rewarded you daily with objects.

-Oh, and your hands tracing his tattoos at night was like a gift from Eywa. He melts like putty every time, growing more thankful for them every night.

-Speaking of tattoos, he low key wasn’t good in the jungle alone yet, every once in a while he’d get into an altercation with an animal that’s never seen a tatted Na’vi and wants him dead.

Ja

- Ja was an interesting guy, very quiet and to himself. You would’ve never payed him any kind had he been pure Na’vi.

-You were glad he stuck out though with his short hair and extra finger. Because he was amazing.

-Anyone that didn’t know him, would think he was some rude douche bag. But he had the kindest spirit.

-He made sure to keep you comfortable at all times, giving you space, or a boost when he knows you need it.

-He always did things the hard way however, didn’t ask for help, always let the help literally have to ask for him.

-Life or death? It didn’t matter. He was your sweetheart, and your prideful mate.

Miles

-Honestly, he just loved to look at you.

-Sometimes the way he’d watch you from afar was unsettling, but hey, to each his own.

-Flying with you before bed was his daily routine. Catching you the second before you closed your eyes to go with him.

-Sometimes you’d ride yours, most times you’d just ride with him. Even falling asleep on the back a couple of times.

-And he wouldn’t dare to wake you, making sure things were going as smooth as possible.

WHAT'S A GOOD PLACE TO WATCH PIRATED MOVIES AND SHOWS THAT WON'T GIVE ME A VIRUS PLEASE HELP

I use soap2day though it can be very risky with all the ads. It allows you to go through all the way to the episode you want to watch but then at that point it’ll throw at least three ads at you in a row. So not exactly ideal.

There’s a lot of other sites just like it that could be somewhat better, but I find that it’s somewhere in between not so great and pretty decent.

I would recommend going on Reddit and searching best places to watch movies free online or something. Look for posts within the last 6 months or so. That’s what I end up doing every few years when my go to site gets taken down.

Otherwise most of my screenshots I get from the show are from Netflix itself. I use a chrome extension that allows you to screenshot while watching. So if the goal isn’t necessarily pirating but really just looking to capture images from the show in better quality, that is an option for desktop!

Otherwise, pirating wise, I would recommend even searching more specifically for ones with the least ads too? Reddit will have the answers or maybe quora? I used to also search on Twitter with those keywords for sites more recently referred to as the go to for others. That’s also an option! It takes a lot of digging but if you can find something posted recently about a good source, and with others ideally agreeing in the comments, it could be a good option.

Fair warning, most if not all do have ads bombardino you. So that is a risk that you’d be taking doing this sort of thing. Unless you have adblockers or are using a VPN or something. I have neither I just go with it and hope for the best each time 🤣

El compositor Dubois interpretó una de sus obras al piano, pero nadie la comprendió, ni siquiera él mismo. Como no había críticos presentes para explicarla, la sala quedó en un incómodo silencio. Para romper la tensión, el marqués Huberto comentó que el piano era el mejor instrumento del mundo, lo que dio inicio a una absurda conversación sobre instrumentos musicales.

Un señor de luto, torpe en cuestiones sociales, preguntó cuál era el segundo mejor instrumento, a lo que un hombre apoplético respondió que el clarinete pequeño, aclarando que el grande se llamaba oboe. Esto llevó al marqués a comentar, con aire de sabiduría, que "oboe" parecía una palabra polaca.

El silencio amenazaba con volver cuando una señorita con trenzas, en un arranque de histeria, gritó "¡Ricardo, Ricardo!" para evocar a Wagner, pero el señor de luto, sin entender, creyó que se dirigía a él. La conversación derivó en un absurdo debate sobre el color del cabello de los genios, que el marqués zanjó diciendo que el talento no tiene color.

Justo cuando Dubois se disponía a tocar otra pieza, descubrió que el piano estaba cerrado con llave y, frustrado, exclamó su maldición. Una señorita intentó hacer un chiste sobre la "llave de sol", pero el compositor, irritado, aclaró que era una llave de hierro. Como era festivo y las cerrajerías estaban cerradas, no había forma de abrirlo.

Ante la imposibilidad de continuar el concierto, un hombre ofreció tocar el bombardino, pero nadie tenía uno. Para salvar la velada, una señora comenzó a cantar una habanera, y todos la acompañaron con palmas. Como la canción era corta, la repitieron varias veces hasta que un comentario excesivamente cursi de la señorita de las trenzas puso fin a la reunión, que se disolvió apresuradamente.

"Las interpretaciones son modas"

[El clarinetista Diego Montes (Córdoba, Argentina, 1958) / JOSÉ LUIS MONTERO]

Diego Montes presenta simultáneamente un par de discos en dúo, uno con la soprano Sachika Ito y otro con la violagambista Johanna Rose

En mayo de 2022 Diego Montes (Córdoba, Argentina, 1958) tuvo un serio problema de salud. “Se me reventó la aorta. Yo que nunca tuve que pasar por un hospital... Me operaron de urgencia y me pusieron un trozo de plástico. Siempre quise tener una aorta de plástico y al fin la tengo”, bromea. Los médicos le dijeron que se salvó por una serie de casualidades. “Coincidió que en el hospital estaba de guardia un chico alto, una eminencia en este tema.” Él a esas coincidencias les pone nombre: Dios. “Eso fue en mayo. Yo quería seguir tocando. En diciembre pude dar mi primer concierto. Pude seguir soplando, pero aquello cambió muchas cosas”.

Argentino de Córdoba, Montes hizo una extraordinaria carrera en Alemania junto a muchos de los mejores conjuntos de instrumentos de época hasta que decidió venirse a Sevilla. Vive en Salteras, “uno de los pueblos con más músicos por metro cuadrado de toda España”. Las bandas son allí muy importantes. “Son muy buenas. Yo me quedé impresionado porque son esas cosas que te llenan... Una vez, recuerdo, estaba una bandita tocando en la calle, lo hacía muy bien, estábamos comiendo, y la gente se divertía. Y de golpe el trompetista deja la trompeta y se para y dice, a ver, ¿quién baila conmigo? Y se pusieron a bailar. Eso es cultura. Yo toco todo tipo de música, he vivido la música barroca, hago contemporánea, electrónica... Pero eso es la cultura. Las bandas... Las bandas privadas que hacen que la cultura pulule. A principio del siglo pasado, la gente del pueblo se iba a trabajar al campo y se llevaba los instrumentos. Está el filósofo [Emilio] Lledó, que nació ahí, y yo una vez fui a la biblioteca, y había una foto y un tipo me dice, este es el padre de Lledó, y estaba con un bombardino, y me cuentan que muchos iban allí, al campo, volvían y ensayaban. Eso es maravilloso”.

Diego vincula todo eso con la política: “Me gusta el trabajo colectivo, entre todos. Porque en la música clásica está esa tiranía del compositor. Esta es mi música y la tocas así. Pero las interpretaciones son modas. Yo he hecho mucha música antigua, es la más temprana de todas las modas, comenzó en los años 60-70. Y están tocando sin vibrato y tal; son modas, pero fue tan fuerte la moda que empezó a influenciar a los demás. Y ahora eso se está volcando ya en otras cosas. A mí me encanta, por ejemplo, trabajar con Johanna Rose en la música contemporánea, porque es completamente otra forma de tocar”.

Con la violagambista alemana-sevillana acaba justo de publicar un disco con música de Gerardo Dirié –un argentino que trabaja en Australia–, un programa que hicieron en el Teatro Central. “Grabamos las piezas breves en dúo de aquel concierto, piezas para viola da gamba y clarinete bajo, que no se habían hecho nunca, pero luego Gerardo nos escribió obras para que las tocásemos como solistas.” En aquel concierto de marzo de 2019 hubo también música de Hilda Paredes, Ramón Gorigoitía y Bach. “Entre la pandemia y mi patatús no tuvimos ocasión de volver a hacerlo. Ahora quizás haya oportunidad. Lo quieren en Argentina. El disco lo publicó un sello americano hace cuatro días [el 12 de julio]. Está sólo en formato digital, y ya tenemos 700.000 oyentes. Nunca me había pasado algo así.”

Paralelamente, Montes ha publicado, también en digital, un trabajo autoproducido junto a la soprano Sachika Ito (Distantes / Cercanías), que residió durante años en Sevilla. “La conocí haciendo Berio con Zahir Ensemble. Y me encantó, porque ella además cantaba ópera. Me interesó muchísimo, esta mujer tiene esa expresión, esa cosa teatral de la ópera y el resultado fue fantástico, formidable”. El álbum incluye tres obras de tres compositores argentinos, “todas centradas en la palabra. En la Biblia dice que al principio era el Verbo. Pero para mí, y esto lo estaba hablando con el compositor Biffarella, al principio fue el ruido, el sonido. Cuando un chico empieza a hablar emite sonidos. El concepto viene después, porque nosotros se lo proporcionamos: esto es una taza. Y en estas obras hay mucho de eso, el concepto está, pero muchas veces diluido, disperso, intencionadamente”. Las obras nacieron de las propuestas de los compositores, pero pasaron también por los dos, “tratando de evitar esa tiranía del compositor de la que le hablaba”.

Tejiendo memorias está formado por dos ciclos de canciones de Gonzalo Biffarella a partir de cuatro tancas de Akiko Yosano y cuatro haikus de Basho, Issa y Buson; estos últimos son también recitados en español por Yolanda Martos. Es música que incluye componente electrónico, como Boca di Piedra de Jorge Sad Levi, una obra sobre versos en ladino de Clarisse Nicoïdsky, la gran poetisa sefardita del siglo XX. Finalmente, Esperando a Perséfone de Analía Llugdar parte de un poema de la cordobesa Esther Ramondelli. Las tres obras están por estrenarse en concierto. “Queremos hacerlo en Argentina y en España, aunque aquí queremos incluir obras de compositores españoles”. Diego Montes piensa que la tecnología de la IA está trayendo un mundo nuevo. “Con Biffarella grabamos cada uno desde un sitio y la calidad era increíble. Y esto ya no se puede parar. Y no quiero pararlo, claro.”
