Daily MCO Drink #455, MCO Day #457: THE SYMPHONY NO.2, made with 2 parts Bols Genever, 1 part Cinzano 1757 Rosso vermouth, 1 part pink grapefruit juice, 1 teaspoon simple syrup, shaken over ice and strained. Genever is one of those spirits I never liked, but has grown in me in the pastvyear since I started doing these daily drinks. The malty flavour reminds me of a new make whisky, an dther eis enough juniper in there to pass as a gin as well. Daily MCO Drink #384, MCO Day #386: DEATH IN THE GULF STREAM, made with 2 parts Bols Genever, 1 part lime juice, 1/2 part simple syrup, grated lime zest, shaken over ice and strained into a glass filled with crushed ice. This was apparently a favourite of Ernest Hemingway, and I can see why, considering he loves daiquiris and mojitos too.
