Our first Bollywood star! Amitabh Bachchan, 82, actually preformed in 12 flop movies before the 13th movie made it big. He was rejected from Indian radio when he was younger but is now known for his distinct baritone

The unmade PUSS IN BOOTS sequel...
In an alternate timeline, the 2nd PUSS IN BOOTS movie would've been released during the holiday season of 2018... It would've been a significantly different movie, too.
It would not have been directed by Joel Crawford, but rather Chris Miller, who directed the first PUSS IN BOOTS movie, and SHREK THE THIRD as well. He's not *that* Chris Miller of the Phil Lord-Chris Miller duo, but a long-time DreamWorks Animation veteran whose work goes all the way back to their debut feature ANTZ.
The title was PUSS IN BOOTS: NINE LIVES & 40 THIEVES.
It had, you may have guessed it, a 1001 Arabian Nights setting.
The concept art for this picture suggested something pretty damn cool. I absolutely love PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH, in fact it is my favorite film in the entire SHREK franchise and just a new favorite movie of mine, period.
But... I'm not gonna lie, I would really love to see what *this* movie would've been like. I'm sure it would've had a tone and directing style similar to that of the first PUSS IN BOOTS, and the visual style for it would've been about the same: Much more hyper-detailed with ornate textures everywhere (look at Puss' sword in that movie and the other SHREKs, and look at his much simplified sword in THE LAST WISH), no framerate fluctuations, etc.
The SHREK series had often covered European fairy tales, and the first PUSS IN BOOTS movie married such fairy tales like Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Golden Goose, to a more old-school adventure genre: Think Zorro, Three Musketeers, etc. Threw in spaghetti westerns for good measure. It was a sandier side of the SHREK world, deserts, and Spanish and Latin American-inspired towns. THE LAST WISH retains all of that, the magical "Dark Forest" being not too far removed from the European fairy tale aesthetic. That whole storybook-inspired look they were going for put it firmly in the European fairy tale, I feel. Again, best of both worlds... But there's other worlds, right?
NINE LIVES & 40 THIEVES would've taken us more East, and I'd really love to see that in the fairy tale universe of SHREK. Who's to say they can't... take that idea off the shelf again? After all, THE LAST WISH ends with a direct lead-in to a fifth SHREK movie. Perhaps SHREK 5 can incorporate the Arabian Nights setting? Or a third PUSS IN BOOTS movie where we only follow "Team Friendship" on a new adventure?
About that... Very few Western animated movies spawn ongoing spin-off feature film series. DESPICABLE ME scored with the MINIONS movie in 2015, and that got an equally ginormous sequel this past summer. That was the inverse of LIGHTYEAR to the TOY STORY franchise, LIGHTYEAR could've been a big hit and could've spawned more space adventures with the human/actual space ranger Buzz... But alas, no cigar. (I'm honestly bummed about that, I was ready for more!) THE LEGO MOVIE tried to do this, but I feel Warner Bros. made the mistake of having the studio make two spin-off movies - unrelated to one another, LEGO BATMAN and LEGO NINJAGO - *before* THE LEGO MOVIE 2 proper. Maybe if LEGO MOVIE 2 opened in 2017 as originally planned, with BATMAN and NINJAGO afterwards, we could've had plenty of different theatrical LEGO stories to choose from. DreamWorks' own MADAGASCAR franchise couldn't have a side series of PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR movies, the first one - released back in 2014 - was deemed a box office disappointment. Its "flopping" actually lead to a big restructuring month at DreamWorks, which took NINE LIVES & 40 THIEVES off their schedule...
It was very possible that the movie was no more, much like other DreamWorks pictures that got the axe at the time: BOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR MONKEY, B.O.O.: BUREAU OF OTHERWORLDLY OPERATIONS, etc. Thankfully, PUSS Dos remained in limbo rather than being outright cancelled.
But NINE LIVES & 40 THIEVES didn't make it, we got THE LAST WISH instead.
But now... THE LAST WISH has been a leggy box office success, a record-breaking one at that, too. It's actually the first post-1999 wide-release animated movie since THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE to make more than 10x its opening weekend gross... EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE came out in 2000... So that makes **two**, **two** animated movies released in the domestic market since 1999 that scored 10x their opening weekend grosses... WOW!
So yes, I'd imagine the PUSS IN BOOTS train won't be stopping. I think it's a strong possibility that we get *both* new SHREK sequels *and* new PUSS IN BOOTS sequels. Puss showed with both movies that he can more than hold his own and have his own long-form adventures w/ Kitty Softpaws and Perrito. The original made over $500m worldwide back in 2011/12, and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars much like this film, which looks to finish up with over $450m worldwide. Hey, is it possible somebody else gets a new movie, too? I feel there's a lot of ground to cover in Shrek's fairy tale world that goes beyond Shrek's swamp, Far Far Away, San Ricardo, Del Mar, the lands inbetween, etc.... A magic carpet that's reminiscent of the one in most ALADDIN interpretations appears in THE LAST WISH as part of Big Jack Horner's collection, so maybe that Arabian Nights-style world is still out there and might be featured in a future SHREK/PUSS IN BOOTS movie?
I'd love to see that, honestly. Since the world of SHREK is back in business, I say go explore and expand that world!

HEY GIRL
Watched / read anything good recently?
was watching dungeon meshi but then that gay ahh bath scene came on and my moms in the room w me so like 💀💀💀💀 reading 1984 rn bcs assignment, im ten pages in bcs i keep fawking playing honkai star rail 😭😭😭 omg, but i was in the midst of watching dil se before i realised i was getting distracted too easily and it was keeping me from enjoying it properly. was only watching it bcs i couldnt find bombay (1995, not the city 💀💀) anywhere. probs bcs nobody gaf abt archiving desi movies 😭😭😭😭 its tough out here, but like for dil se honestly i rlly liked the screenplay and the way it was directed even tho like . i literally only got to the first song of the film 💀💀 even then. also oh my god srk has not a SINGLE dancing bone in his body like ive bitched abt it before but oml hrithik roshan and tiger shroff are actually carrying the reputation of bollywood's male actor's dancing abilities on their back....now if only theyd stop FAWKING taking up propaganda films 😭😭😭
i actually kinda need to leave a separate paragraph for how bad srk dances like its not just when he was young...in chaiyya chaiyya literally EVERYBODY is on beat except him....and it KEELS me because ure telling me u cant keep tempo ??? brother 😭😭😭😭😭 but ok even in the present like, he stays on beat (barely) but hes SO STIFF?? i like saw some clip of him dancing with an actress, it mightve been deepika padukone in happy new year ??? oh my god it was SO bad. he was SO stiff. it KILLED me. bollywood actress go through HELL but sanjay dutt srk and a bunch of other male actors get away with not being able to dance well 😭😭😭😭 my queen kareena kapoor took dance classes before filming k3g yet srk and amitabh bacchan got away w shava shava....Sick and Twisted world we live in like....anyway i actually dk if thalapthy vijay is a bhakt but this is y he solos even tho i have verithanam trauma....sings n dances well etc, this is y bollywood flops consistently actually
pls take that paragraph lightheartedly if ure desi 💔 ok anyway
the god of small things by arundhati roy is good....i only read like 20 pages tho but ik plot 💀💀💀💀 i think the seven moons of maali almeida might also b good, its by shehan karunatilaka
ok last unfinished thing im gna recommend....Hot Tkae but....i liked saltburn...i still have the 2nd half of the movie to finish (stopped some time after the reveal) but again, ik the plot 😭 i still have some problems w it tho but its not rlly abt the hypersexuality. cinematography fucked. 4:3 aspect ratio choice? ATE. SO BADD. but ill also need to finish the film. but tbh its obsessed boy x rich boy trope wasnt rlly handled well in my opinion, micah nemerever's these violent delights solos in that area. and i think the story is flawed
ok NOW. i liked fleabag. actually i LOVED fleabag. think its a masterpiece. both seasons but esp the 2nd one (felt more refined but compared to other shows, s1 SOLOS). the boys s4 is dropping!! invincible s2 was alr i bet the animation studio suffered hard tho bcs wtf was that style change mid season 😭😭😭. and i don't rlly think the direction in which Nolan's character arc is gna go to will turn out that great? also, i loved gerta gerwig's ladybug! its actually crazy how she made ladybug and barbie both . one is amazing. the other is well uhm.
oh also i liked inglourious basterds and pulp fiction . quentin tarantino kinda looks like a walking talking serial killer mugshot tho i saw an interview where he was asked why kill bill had so much violence and was honestly surprised by how girlypop he was. not forgetting him choking diane kruger on set tho !
watched batman begins. it was aight 😭 rewatched matt reeves' batman right after. liked it betterr. i LOVEDDD heartbreak high, s1 and s2 !! usually with shows i only like s1 best, but w heartbreak high i literally ADOREDDD s2, the finale was so good !!! im also watching the gentlemen (the show) rn, and i rllyyy like it hehe. tried watching tick tick boom again bcs I'd actually dropped it midway when it had first released bcs that one scene where she was like "you're thinking of a song rn aren't you" was so stress inducing that I had 2 click away 💀💀 n then i forgot abt it. picked it up again and omg it's actually so good how did I miss it the first time 😭😭😭
oh yeah I also liked the fall of the house of usher . also ! another incompleted thing but im also in the midst of watching the three of us (film). its so good !! i loved the atmosphere and cast performances can't wait 2 see how it turns out :))

RE-RELEASED FLOP MOVIES....
These days old movies which are iconic, cult classic should be re-released instead of the movie which have created a crazy record are released again in theaters, specially tollywood movies.
I am not against such movie's release but my problem is if those movies which were declared average or flop at the box office at that time but are genuinely good to watch should be re-released for sure so that people can appreciate it atleast now.
For example, Orange a telugu movie which was good but was a flop during it's release was re-released and had theaters full with people even though this movie is there in YouTube, in a good quality to watch.
I am just saying in all languages this re-release trend should be followed with those movie which have a good story. There are many such movies in telugu like Tanu Nanu, Nanu Meku Telusa?, Khaleja...many more and in bollywood we have Guzaarish, Shamshera, Runway 34, Jhund, Nishbad...many more so there will be such in other languages as well which should be re-released as in the past they were maybe released in a wrong time or a were maybe ahead of their time or were not marked well...or may have may reasons for it's failure in the box office.
I just want another chance for such movies!
#deserved appreciation is important to give!
#good content should spread for sure!

Old Superhit Bollywood Movies' Inflation Adjusted Box Office Collection Equivalent To 2023-24
Old Superhit Bollywood Movies' Inflation Adjusted Box Office Collection Equivalent To 2023-24: In 2023, almost every movie set a new record at the box office and raised the bar of competition to a new height. Some of the top grossers of Bollywood in 2023 are Pathaan, Jawaan, Gadar 2, Animal, Tiger 3, Fukrey 3, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Satya Prem Ki Katha, Dunki, and Salaar. In the ever-evolving landscape of Bollywood, the most common measure to verdict if a film is a hit or flop, it has to be the box office collection. Did you ever think about what would be the box office collection of Bollywood old superhit movies if they were released in 2023 or 2024?
List of 10 Superhit Bollywood Films' Inflation Adjusted Box Office Collection
It is intriguing to think or imagine the colossal success that some of your favorite superstar's old superhit films would achieve if they were released in the current cinematic era of 2023-24. There is no doubt that the timeless classical movies which once captivated audiences with their compelling narratives and iconic performances, still have the potential to redefine success at the box office. Imagine what would be the fate of legendary films like "Sholay," "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," or "Maine Pyar Kiya" if they were released in theaters now? You may also like: Did You Notice Spelling Mistakes In Bollywood Movies Titles As time has changed and the taste of the audience also altered it is a little bit debatable would these films attract the audience to the ticket counters in 2023. Thus, we have discussed Bollywood Old Superhit Movies box office collections equivalent to their box office collections in 2023. We took 10 old blockbuster films to discuss their hypothetical or inflation adjusted box office collection. 1. Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)
Maine Pyar Kiya was released on December 29, 1989, with limited screen counts. Eventually, it became Salman Khan's illustrious career's first blockbuster film which racked up INR 23 Crore in India and INR 27.5 Crore worldwide, to become an all-time blockbuster. Maine Pyar Kiya's INR 28 crore box office collection in 1998 is equivalent to Rs 500 crore in 2023. 2. Sholay (1975)
It is one of the most iconic films of Bollywood. Sholay was released in 1975. However, Sholay has been re-released multiple times as Sholay 3D. The 1975-released film collected INR 15 Crore in its lifetime box office collection in India and INR 30 Crore worldwide. Speaking of its inflation-adjusted or equivalent box office collection in 2023, Sholay would have collected nearly INR 1884 crore. 3. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ) (1995)
This film was released on October 20, 1995, and it not only became the highest-grossing Hindi film that year but also the most memorable film of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's careers. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge added a feather to Shah Rukh Khan's hat, collecting INR 53.31 Crore net in India and INR 102.02 Crore gross worldwide. If we adjust inflation the film definitely had crossed INR 800 Crore net in 2023. 4. Khalnayak (1993)
This Sanjay Dutt starer came as a game changer in his career, released on June 15, 1993. The film also stars Jackie Shroff in the lead role. This action-crime film racked up INR 12.5 Crore net in India and INR 21.5 Crore gross worldwide, creating mayhem at the box office. If Khalnayak were released in 2023 it would have collected INR 210 Crore net. 5. Baazigar (1993)
The iconic duo Shah Rukh Khan and Kajor appeared in Abbas-Mustan's Baazigar which was an unofficial remake of the Hollywood film A Kiss Before Dying, released on November 12, 1993. The film received a blockbuster verdict for its commercial success, collecting INR 14 Crore net in India and INR 32 Crore gross worldwide. Baazigar's equivalent box office collection in 2023 is INR 230 Crore. 6. Raja Hindustani (1996)
Raja Hindustani was a romantic drama film released on November 15, 1996, starring Aamir Khan and Karishma Kapoor. If we talk about Raja Hindustani's verdict at the box office, it was an out-n-out success story because the film was made on a budget of INR 5.75 crore and it collected INR 43.15 Crore net in India and INR 76.34 Crore worldwide to become the highest-grossing film of that year and the third most successful Hindi film of the 1990s. If we adjust inflation Raja Hindustani would collect INR 800 Crore net in 2023. 7. Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994)
Main Khiladi Tu Anari was released in 1994, starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. This comedy-action film was a sure-shot blockbuster of the year and one of the top 5 highest-grossing films of that year. In India, Main Khiladi Tu Anari collected INR 7.88 Crore net and INR 13.84 Crore worldwide. The inflation-adjusted box office collection of Main Khiladi Tu Anari in 2023 should be INR 200 Crore. 8. Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001)
An Anil Sharma film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, released on June 15, 2001, was a tsunami at the box office, collecting INR 76.88 Crore Net in India and INR 111.73 Crore Gross worldwide. Over 5 crore people watched the film in theaters. It would be 2023 instead of 2001, and the equivalent box office collection of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha would rack over INR 500 Crore 9. Amar Akbar Anthony (1977)
This film starring top actors of the Hindi Film Industry, Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, and Vinod Khanna, in the lead roles, was released on May 27, 1977, and is regarded as one of the most iconic films of Bollywood. Amar Akbar Anthony was the highest-grossing film of that year, collecting INR 7.5 Crore net in India and INR 15.5 Crore gross worldwide. Inflation adjusted box office collection of Amar Akbar Anthony is INR 450 Crore. 10. Dilwale (1994)
It was a romantic-action film, featuring Ajay Devgn and Sunil Shetty in lead roles. Dilwale was released in theaters on February 4, 1994. The film made on a budget of INR 2 Crore, did a business of INR 8.5 Crore net in India and INR 12 Crore gross worldwide, proven to be a Superhit film in Ajay Devgn's early career. If Dilwale were released in 2023, its box office collection would be INR 300 Crore instead.

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol reuniting at The Archies premiere will make you want to relive all the hits of the DDLJ couple
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are one of the few onscreen couples who have never given a flop together.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol is known to be one of the most iconic couples on the big screen and have managed to win hearts every time they come together. From Baazigar to Dilwale, as they continue to entertain audiences with their intense chemistry, the couple made their fans relive their movies as they reunited for a recent event. The star-studded premiere of The Archies, which marks the film debut of SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan was held at the NMACC in Mumbai wherein we saw the duo have a gala time.
Amid several beautiful and candid photos which were posted from the premiere, one of them that caught the attention of Bollywood buffs was this one where we can see both Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in their elements. SRK is seen holding his onscreen ladylove whereas Kajol is seen sharing a hearty laugh at the premiere.
Despite the fact that the photo dump of the premiere evening was released with the post also featuring many other stars, fans of the superstars couldn’t help but gush about the duo’s chemistry. Many of them posted heart emojis and dropped comments like “SRK AND KAJOL FOREVER” and “OMG SRKajol”. One of the users said, “Omg omg Netflix this means a lot...srkajol pic ...????????of the year..finally we got...” whereas another one pleaded for a onscreen reunion, “yess!! an SRKAJOL reunion??, this was definitely needed!! i’m so happy rn” . One of the fans also commented, “SRK Kajol omg! Can they do a movie PLEASE”.
For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have played an onscreen couple in films Baazigar (1993), Karan Arjun (1995), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), My Name Is Khan (2010), and Dilwale (2015).

The Heartbreaking Story of Bollywood’s Biggest Flop: The Fall of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja
Bollywood has seen its share of iconic movies, but there have also been costly failures. One such film was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, a big-budget Bollywood film that ended up as one of the industry’s most famous flops. Released in 1993 and starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi, this movie left a lasting impact on producer Boney Kapoor and director Satish Kaushik, who both faced tremendous…

Mubarakan (2017) directed by Anees Bazmee
English title: Congratulations age rating: 13+ genre: comedy, family, romance duration: 2h 36m country: India language: Hindi screenplay: Rupinder Chahal, Balwinder Singh Janjua
major cast: Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Athiya Shetty, Ileana D'Cruz, Ratna Pathak Shah, Neha Sharma
plot summary: twin brothers Karan and Charan (both played by Arjun Kapoor) lose their parents when they were babies and end up being raised by different relatives. Karan grows up in London with his aunt, turning into a smooth-talking, confident flirt, while Charan is raised in Punjab by their uncle, becoming the mild-mannered, traditional one of the two. when it’s finally time for these two to settle down, a whirlwind of mix-ups and misunderstandings kick off, creating a chaotic yet heartwarming rom-com. their eccentric Uncle Kartar (Anil Kapoor) steps in as the unlikely hero, masterminding a hilariously twisted plan to juggle his nephews’ love lives and keep peace between both families.
I don't know why this movie is hated by many and considered flop because this movie had me laughing from the first scene right to the last! Mubarakan has that perfect blend of chaotic family drama, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and just the right dose of emotion. imagine the quirkiest family you know, add a ton of misunderstandings, and sprinkle in some dramatic match-making moves, and that’s exactly what this film delivers. the plot is ridiculously over-the-top, full of mishaps, misunderstandings, and impossible situations, and honestly, that’s what makes it so much fun. who knew a family could have this level of complex miscommunication? every twist just builds on the previous one, leading to an absolute comedy roller-coaster that had my stomach aching from laughter! Arjun Kapoor deserves applause for his portrayal of both Karan and Charan, and somehow he makes it feel like I’m watching two completely different people. he’s like the Bollywood version of Lindsay Lohan in The Parent Trap. the visual effects are seamless too; I barely noticed any flaws in the twin scenes. Anil Kapoor, as their eccentric uncle Kartar, is just a powerhouse. he brings this youthful energy that’s honestly mind-blowing—does this man age backward, how does he look younger than he was in the 1990s? Kartar's witty, carefree personality lights up the screen and adds an extra punch to the comedic chaos. then there’s Athiya Shetty, who plays Binkle, Charan’s love interest. I couldn’t take my eyes off her! she’s stunning, with this unique, captivating beauty that really sets her apart. that jawline, those eyes—they’re mesmerising, she kinda reminds of Miranda Kerr, but without the dimples! she doesn’t get nearly enough screen time, but every scene she’s in, she owns. her chemistry with Charan is sweet and endearing; I found myself rooting for her the entire time. Seriously, if I were a guy, I’d happily be Charan’s rival. Ileana D’Cruz as Sweety is also fantastic and brings her own lively charm, perfectly balancing the fiery and confident Karan. yes, the film goes a bit overboard at times—some situations are so far-fetched they could only happen in a Bollywood rom-com. but that’s the charm of it! the absurdity is part of what makes Mubarakan such a blast to watch. there’s an energy here that I don’t find in just any comedy, and despite all the craziness, the film sneaks in a warm family message by the end that ties everything together. this is the movie you put on when you’re in the mood to laugh, relax, and forget about everything else for a couple of hours. Bollywood fans, or anyone up for a feel-good family comedy, will find it a delightful watch.
