Digital Portfolio Entry #2 - Bokuto Kotaro
Tumblr media
Furudate created a character that nobody would be able to forget or dislike, and this character’s name is Bokuto Kotaro. Bokuto is a 3rd year student who goes to Fukurodani Academy, and is the volleyball team captain as well as their ace. Bokuto is a bundle of joy, celebrating every good spike he hits, and cheering for his team mates. In season 2 of Haikyuu, Takeda, the coach of Karasuno, even states that despite Bokuto being on the opposite team, that they all couldn’t help cheer for him. Most side characters that aren’t following the protagonist every step of the way can be sometimes forgotten, but Bokuto isn’t one of them.
Bokuto is able to stand out from the crowd, not because of his looks, but because of his personality. He is able to be distinct from the 100 different characters Furudate has given us because of something he goes through, titled an “emo mode” which his teammates had given it. This basically means that Bokuto gets pretty dejected during the game, and isn’t able to participate with spiking, receiving, blocking. How does one get into such mode, it’s usually because of something small, such as getting blocked, or the game not going as he planned.
Even though it may be as small as not being able to compete in the main arena, this means a lot to Bokuto and in order to get him back up and running, Akaashi, the 2nd year vice-captain, does his magic and manages to get him up again.
Despite being the captain, and also one of the top 5 aces in Japan, his team isn’t a one man show, in fact, it's much the opposite. His teammates are the ones to guide him along. I enjoyed how Furudate wrote a character such as Bokuto, as it’s very easy to fall into the troupe of a “one man team” for someone who is as talented as Bokuto is. Fukurodani itself was a powerful and skillful team without Bokuto, being able to compete against the top schools, but with Bokuto, they are able to beat them.
Bokuto’s character is so pure, wanting the best for everybody. His relationship with Akaashi just makes it even better. Akaashi, despite being a year younger than him, took up the task of keeping Bokuto in check. The dynamic of the friendship is something that everybody remembers, because there isn’t a functioning Bokuto without Akaashi.

Haikyuu boys being jealous
(pt 3.)
Characters: Bokuto, Hinata, Yamaguchi
Warnings: fluff :)
Tumblr media
Bokuto Kotaro:
Tumblr media
-Ok, so you were at a training camp because you’re Fukurōdani’s third manager.
-(Bokuto BEGGED them to let you be on the team-)
-You had strayed away from your team to lean on the wall.
-Kuroo spotted you during one of the breaks and went over to talk flirt with you.
-So here’s what happened: he walks up to you, says a few dumb pickup lines and jokes, they make you laugh a bit and he continues on talking to you.
-Now Bokuto is also on break so he’s walking around chatting.
-He scans the room to find you. Akaashi helps him by pointing in yours and Kuroo’s direction.
-He sees you talking with one of his close friends and he starts to go into his emo mode, where he just sulks in a corner.
-So, Akaashi has to go up to you and tell you that he refuses to play now.
-“Y/N, I need your help. Do you have a moment?”
-“Oh! Yeah sure, I’ll talk to you later Kuroo-san.”
-You go with Akaashi to see what’s going on.
-“So what do you need me for?”
-“Bokuto’s in his emo mode again..” he sighed.
-“Alright, I’ll go see what’s up.”
-You see Bokuto in the corner, looking dejected.
-“Baby? What’s wrong?” You say.
-“I thought you like Kuroo now..”
-“HUH?-“
-“You seemed to be having sooo much fun with him.”
-“Bokuto, you know I only love you. He was just telling me cheesy jokes, nothing more.”
-His hair spikes back up.
-“Really?” He looks up to you.
-“Of course. Now, I wanna see my strong owl playing out there!” You kiss his cheek.
-He stands up tall.
-“Hey hey hey! Anything for my baby owl!”
Hinata Shoyo:
Tumblr media
-Def a very jealous boy indeed.
-Okay so one time Kageyama was asking you about something in class.
-And that caught Hinata’s attention.
-I mean, Kageyama was his best friend and rival, and you’re his gf
-He is immediately upset and stomps over like a little kid to you.
-“Y/NNN come with me to lunch!” He says, dragging you with him.
-You chuckle. “Bye Kageyama, I guess”
-Once you guys get to your destination, he turns back to you.
-“Why were you with Bakayama and not me??” He pouts.
-“He was asking about an assignment silly! I was going to go straight to you after I explained it-“
-“…Oh-“
-“I wouldn’t want my sunshine to go to lunch alone, now would I?”
-“You’re right! Let’s go eat now then!” He gives his winning smile as he leads you to go order.
Yamaguchi Tadashi:
Tumblr media
-Probably sulks tbh.
-You were at the park.
-When he went off to go to the nearest restroom, someone familiar came up to you.
-“Y/N? Is that you?” He says.
-“Oh my god, C/N!” (C/N means cousin’s name)
-“It’s been too long. How have you been?”
-“Amazing, and you?”
-“I’m doing well myself!”
-Yamaguchi comes out the bathroom and immediately looks for you only to see you with an unknown guy.
-He has an internal argument with himself about whether or not to go over there or stay back.
-He ultimately decides to stay where he’s at because he doesn’t want to interrupt you.
-So when you get done talking with your cousin, you see Yamaguchi and run to him.
-“Hey..” He has a visible frown on his face.
-“Hm? What’s wrong?”
-“That person you were talking with.. who was that?” He asks, not looking you in the eye.
-“Oh, him? That’s my cousin. I haven’t seen in in years.”
-He goes silent, finally looking at your e/c eyes.
-“Baby, were you.. jealous?” You smirk.
-“I- uhh.. well yeah I guess I was.”
-“You’re so cute!” You giggle.
-You pepper small kisses on his freckled face. “I love you and only you, don’t forget that.”
-“I won’t.” He laughs with you blushing a lot in the process.

iwaizumi ushijima bokuto hc to their s/o wearing someone else’s hoodie or jacket like iwa’s s/o is wearing oikawas?
JEALOUS IWA? JEALOUS IWA.
Tumblr media
-`,✎ Iwaizumi, Ushijima, and Bokuto’s reaction to you wearing someone else’s jacket
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iwaizumi Hajime
Iwa is possessive as hell
Don’t get me wrong, he trusts you completely, he just doesn't like it when other guys try to make a move on you
This is especially obvious when it comes to a certain brunette
Oikawa is Iwaizumi’s best friend so it was only natural that you two would be close after some time as well
So you didn’t really think much of it when you put on Oikawa’s school jacket one day during their practice
It was just lying there so you just put it on seeing as Iwaizumi’s was nowhere to be found for some reason
The Seijoh jackets were all identical to one another and the two boys wore the same size so everybody just assumed that it was your boyfriend’s jacket you were wearing
But not Iwa
He knew his jacket was at home, still drying after washing it the day before
He’d freeze mid-serve as he stared at you, his eyes dark with a scary aura radiating off of him in waves
Oikawa knew what was happening but he still acted clueless because he’s a prick like that
“Something the matter, Iwa-chan~?”
He’d just glare at the male so ferociously it was honestly a miracle that he didn’t burst into flames right then and there
Iwa would drop the ball and approach you, his fists clenching as the smell of Oikawa’s cologne met his nose
“Take it off.”
“Wha—what?”
He was practically growling, his voice dangerously low
You’d just stare horrified at him, confusion evident on your face and he’d just point at the jacket you were wearing and it would click
You’d let out this cheeky little grin but follow obediently nonetheless and slip the jacket off, throwing it off somewhere (Oikawa: okay, rude?)
He’d be so rough and aggressive (I CAN SEE WHAT YOU’RE THINKING OF 👀👀👀 DRINK SOME HOLY WATER MY DUDE THIS IS A CHRISTIAN MINECRAFT SERVER) during the rest of practice, letting off his jealous steam through his spikes and serves, it’s a miracle that the rest of the team’s arms didn’t snap off Kunimi just gave up and resorted to dodging his spikes
After practice, he’d head straight towards you snake his arm around your waist, pulling you close towards him, letting everyone know, particularly Oikawa that you were his
“Don’t just wear some other guy’s jackets.” He’d grumble as he avoided your knowing looks
“Is someone jealous?”
“What? I’m not jealous!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Tendou has a lot of hoodies, a ridiculous number of them actually
He loves wearing them around the dorms so some of them are always littered around the team’s dorm rooms
Two of them are at Semi’s dorm, three are at Goshiki’s for some reason and one is at a disgruntled Shirabu’s room, tucked away at the corner of the room far away from him
The one left forgotten at Ushijima’s dorm was a particularly warm and cozy one
Ushijima loves to put the AC up really high in his room so you were always cold when you stay there
The closest jacket you could grab was Tendou’s, though you didn’t know that it was his and just threw it on thinking it was your boyfriend’s
Ushijima isn’t one to get jealous, he doesn’t see the point to it and doesn’t want to waste his time with such an ugly emotion
But when he walked out of the bathroom to the sight of you all cozied up in his best friend’s jacket, he just froze, blinking blankly at you
“Toshi? Is something the matter?”
“Erm—no, nothing at all.”
He wouldn’t say anything actually
It isn’t that big of a deal, it shouldn’t bother him but in the end, it does
As you two are seated at his desk, studying for your final, Ushijima’s eyes kept tearing away from his textbook and onto you fiddling with the sleeves of the gray sweatshirt
He feels so ridiculous for being so bothered over this but in the end, he gives in to his jealously and suddenly stand up, startling you in the process
He’d just walk up to his closet and rummage through it till he finds a good sweatshirt, just as cozy and oversized as Tendou’s and hand it over to you without a word
When you start asking questions though he’d just say “Please just change, (Y/N). I don’t particularly enjoy your wearing another man’s clothes.”
jEALOUS USHI IS REALLY RARE SO PLEASE CHERISH THIS MOMENT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bokuto Koutarou
Oh boy…my precious little owl baby…
He’s gonna throw such a fit
When he gets jealous it’s either he explodes with possessiveness or deflates like a balloon
This time, he does the latter
You were waiting for Bokuto around the end of the team’s practice so that you two could walk home together like usual
This time, however, their practice was running longer than normal but you still stayed outside, waiting for Bokuto despite him telling you to go home on your own that day
Akaashi was refilling his water bottle when he saw you rubbing your hands together from the brisk autumn wind, your school blazer doing nothing to warm you up
Akaashi is a friggin gentleman so he wasn’t going to just leave you like that, he’d rush over to you, handing you his coat with a respective little bow asking you to put it on while you wait which you gladly did
The two of you wouldn’t think much of it, it was just a kind gesture from Akaashi but when Bokuto saw you wearing an all too familiar coat, he immediately crumbled into his emo mode
“Why—why are you wearing…Akaashi’s coat?”
You didn’t even need to look up from your phone to see that he was pouting as he tugged on the long sleeves that hung off your wrists
He would be so distraught, waves of possessiveness and sorrow washing over him
Who knew his best friend and his s/o would do such a thing to him
You would immediately slip off the coat, return it to the disgruntled second year and rush over to your dejected boyfriend
He would be so clingy on the way home, his arms practically glued around your own as he kept seeking reassurance and affection from you
He’d only start perking up after you shower him with kisses as you slip on his own coat, telling him how you only had eyes from one person and that was him
Basically, Bokuto is baby and please protect him

↷ SUMMARY ↶
A new special move!
The third day of summer training camp and the temperature was still rising. Under the cool shade of the tree upon the hill, you, Shimizu, and Yachi were preparing cool electrolyte drinks for the team. Usually, you three done it in the gym but experiencing how hot the weather was, you three decided brought the bottles uphill so the team could drink immediately in order to avoid dehydration.
“That’s a different type of brand you use, [Name]-chan.” Shimizu commented, seeing a different colored package of electrolyte drink in your hand.
“Oh, Kageyama-kun usually used this particular brand,” you replied, pouring the powder into the bottle and turn the lid close, then you shook the bottle so it would mix thoroughly. Your upperclassman hummed in understanding from your answer.
While it was the third day of training, it’s also marked the three weeks of Kageyama and Hinata not talking to each other even though it didn’t hinder their practice. It worried you a bit, but you knew the two of them would talk eventually.
“Great work,” you said, offering the bottle to Kageyama when he and the rest of the boys arrived uphill. He rasped out a thank you before immediately downing the drink.
“Hinata-kun, this is yours!”
“Thank you!”
You purposely be the one to delivered the bottle straight to the person–Hinata was keeping a quite distance from Kageyama and you didn’t want to force the orange-haired boy to get closer with the raven-haired setter.
“Wuaah, it’s nice and cool,” Hinata sighed in content, placing the bottle upon his cheek–enjoying the coolness radiating from it. After satisfied in cooling down his face, he soon downed the drink. Now that you think, you rarely talk to Hinata these days with him busy with his practice.
“[Name]-san, is your arm okay?” ah, he must be referring to the long cut on your arm.
“It’s already a month, Hinata-kun, it’s healed but it does leave a scar,” you lifted your arm, showing a faint lighter line present on your skin where your wound previously at.
“Oh, sorry,” frowns don’t suit Hinata at all–he’s a bright ball of beaming energy, a warm figure who could lit your day in an instant. It’s his nature, and seeing him becoming dejected from the start of the day was worrying.
“It’s fine, Hinata-kun, it’s not your fault anyway. It was an accident,” you dismissed his apology. “And if you need anything, just call out for me, okay? I’ll do my best to help you.”
You didn’t know what force that made you say those words, but you know you couldn’t take it back–you didn’t intend too anyway. Hinata always worked hard by himself, so you want to support him as much as possible. The orange haired boy looked taken a back before a giving you that infamous wide, sunny grin.
“Okay! And call me Shoyo, then! I call you by your first name so it’s fair if you call me like that too!”
“Alright, then, Shoyo-kun.”
.
.
The temperature was still rising–the burning hot atmosphere exhausted your boys even further than before. It would get rough, both for their body and mind eventually. You could feel your skin prickling–the tension was rising faster than before, tiredness building up, and sooner or later it would get to them.
“Damn it!” you gripped on your hand a little tighter after hearing Hinata’s scream of frustration. He failed to get the ball over the net because he lost in terms of strength with Lev. For the past three days, he couldn’t hit any ball comfortably, and with the battle of height always looming over him he had nothing to fight it with.
The match continued–Nishinoya tossed the ball perfectly, and then Kageyama went up to made a toss. Hinata, noticing there was a chance for a quick immediately jumped. Even though the ball barely being hit, it still got over the net and fell on the opposite court.
“You held back, didn’t you!?” his upperclassmen’s praises went over his head as Hinata yelled in anger at Kageyama.
“Held back?” the raven-haired setter also didn’t like the approach, glaring back menacingly. “Me? With volleyball?”
Thankfully before a fight could break, Takeda-sensei already asked for a time-out–with that, at least the two could cool down for a bit and not causing ruckus on the court in the middle of a match.
“That wasn’t the falling toss!” Hinata’s next words, caught you off guard. He noticed something’s different with the toss? It looked the same to you.
“It wasn’t?” Takeda-sensei questioned.
“I mean, looking back, it technically may not have been.” Coach Ukai answered, a thumb under his chin. “I think what just happened is that the toss right now wasn’t like the falling tosses he’s been getting, but more of a parabola.”
It clicked in your mind–the abrupt change suddenly made sense. “Does that mean Kageyama-kun is trying to get Shoyo-kun to hit the ball no matter what?”
“It’s on purpose?” Yachi turned to look at you.
“But what for?” Shimizu’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“Hinata hasn’t hit a spike comfortably for a while now,” Coach Ukai was the one who answered to their question. “That’s pretty stressful for a spiker. Kageyama might have subconsciously been worried that Hinata’s might not play as well because of that.”
You frowned in worry, seeing how Hinata still rooted on his spot despite Tanaka’s attempt to dragged him off the court. And it also worried you that Kageyama was looking utterly dejected–maybe he realized for a moment that he pulled his punches. Thankfully it was only a moment–everything was resolved rather quickly and practice resumed.
.
.
After practice at night, you found yourself helping Bokuto, Kuroo, and Akaashi in the third gym. The owl captain immediately dragged you away as soon as the last practice was over (you swore you could hear Tanaka and Nishinoya’s screams of fury), so here you were, throwing balls to Akaashi so he could toss it to Bokuto. Surprisingly, Tsukishima was present as well–now, he’s learning to block with Kuroo’s guidance.
“Oh? Tsukki, [Name]-chan, did you bring a friend today?” Bokuto suddenly asked, which confused the two of you.
“Pardon?” Tsukishima questioned.
When you threw a look over your shoulder, you immediately took a notice of an extremely familiar figure with orange hair by the door. Calling out, you gave him a smile. “Shoyo-kun!”
“[N-Name]-san!”
“What happened to your partner?” Tsukishima asked.
“Kageyama’s practicing on his own again,” Hinata answered. “I was trying to get Kenma to throw me tosses, but he ran away after the fifth one.”
“It’s amazing that you got Kenma to even give you five during practice,” Kuroo remarked.
“So, please let me practice with you!” another surprised for you because Lev showed up and asking the same thing.
“Lev!”
“Oh, Hinata,” the silver-haired boy then noticed you and immediately waved his hands enthusiastically. “Otohaku-chan!! You’re here too!!”
“Lev, quit flirting with the manager and I thought you were practicing receives with Yaku.” Kuroo said and of course, the mention of Nekoma’s libero, Lev stiffened.
“He said I was doing well today, so he let me go!”
From the looks of it, it was no doubt he ran away while Yaku was having a bathroom break or something else that required him for leaving the gym. But Kuroo, being the lenient and laid-back captain he is, dismissed it.
“Well, whatever,” he sighed. “Then, we have the right number of people, so let’s play three-on-three. [Name], you’re in charge of the score.”
Nodding in understanding, you pushed the score board closer and changed the names above–cats and owl, it reminded you of the two captain’s characteristics. You were fine in looking over the match, but this match was quite ridiculous. Thankfully, you’re not the only to think so.
“Um, isn’t this just a bit unbalanced?” Akaashi questioned. He was in the same team with Bokuto and Hinata, whereas the opposite team was clearly having more advantage in height–Kuroo, Lev, and Tsukishima are all above 185cm. Still with the disadvantage he got, Hinata was excited for sure.
The match was interesting to watch–even with the lack of extra height for Hinata’s team, they were still on par with Tsukishima’s team. But soon it was stopped by Yukie and Kaori’s appearance.
“If you don’t wrap soon, the cafeteria will close and you won’t get any dinner.” Yukie informed. “Oh? [Name]-chan, you’re here too? That explains why you don’t show up for dinner.”
Frustration was clear to Hinata because he clearly enjoyed the match and he didn’t want it to end, however, with Kuroo’s reassurance that they would continue this tomorrow, he was back bouncing on his feet. You couldn’t help but smile at the captain’s attentiveness.
“Thank you for cheering Shoyo-kun up,” you said, as the seven of you walked towards the cafeteria. Yukie and Kaori said they had to handle other things first so they couldn’t accompany you (it was hard for them to let you go with the boys). “Today’s not a good day for him so this match definitely cheers him up.”
“It’s nothing, and we probably have to apologize to you too,” Kuroo remarked. “Bokuto’s dragging you here, you stuck with us, and missed dinner. Bokuto, you have an apology to make!”
“That’s right, Bokuto-san, you made Otohaku-san missed dinner.” Akaashi piped up. “Tomorrow she has to wake up early to prepare breakfast, too.”
As if struck by lightning, Bokuto froze and turned stiffly to look at you before he went on a full apology-mode–as far as dropping on his knees, taking your hands in his, and begging for apology. You laughed nervously, but you knew he was sincere with it.
“I’m sorry, [Name]-chan!! I’ll make it up to you!! Do I need to replace you handling breakfast tomorrow!?”
“N-no, it’s alright, I will be fine and you don’t have to apologize, Bokuto-san. I don’t mind helping you practice.”
“Bokuto-san, you’re making Otohaku-san uncomfortable.”
“Have my back for once, Akaashi!!”
.
.
Now that you think of it, your after-practice time was automatically reserved for the third gym. Bokuto would bound towards you, asking for your help as soon as you’re done with your managerial duties. With your nod, he then reached out for your hand and pulled you to ran towards the third gym.
Akaashi already informed you to just dismissed his captain, but you found yourself couldn’t possibly rejected Bokuto’s invitation–especially when his eyes practically shining, you didn’t have a heart to ruin it. That goes for Daichi also, he even offered to talk to Bokuto about it if it bothers you. You were grateful for the two’s offer, still if you could help, you want to be helpful as possible.
It’s probably the third time you helped them practice by throwing balls and keeping an eye on the score board. Well you did your usual managerial duties as well–refilling the water bottles, giving them towels, sometimes wiping the floor when it became too slippery. Kuroo mentioned that you didn’t have to do it since your work hour was over and him, Bokuto, Akaashi, and Lev weren’t from your team.
Again, you dismissed it–it’s not a heavy duty, anyway. In between water break, Tsukishima asked about why on earth Kuroo wanted to help them when they would end up being rival in the end.
The captain cleared his throat. “I want to make the Battle at the Garbage Dump a reality. It’s what our coach wants more than anything. But who knows how much longer our coach is going to continue coaching? So, because of that, we need you guys to keep winning too.”
Overall, you understood Kuroo’s reason, but there was something that piqued your curiosity.
“Uhm, I know this question might sound strange, but, what is Battle at the Garbage Dump?” you asked.
“Oh, that’s right, we haven’t explained anything to Yachi-san and [Name]-san!” Hinata said.
“To put it simple, it’s like destined match between Karasuno and Nekoma.” Tsukishima explained. “It’s been going since the previous Coach Ukai’s time.”
“Karasuno and Nekoma will climb up until they could go to nationals and then will meet up on the orange court.” Kuroo grinned, reaching up to ruffle your hair lightly.
“That’s… so cool,” you muttered. You couldn’t find the exact words to express the awe you’re feeling. A match in the orange court between destined rivals, it’s almost like straight up from a manga or a movie. Other teams could research but playing against a team that knows you really well is going to be an absolute thrill–probably the best match Karasuno could get.
“Right, right!?” Hinata went up to you and asked excitedly.
“Come on. Let’s get back to practice!” Kuroo informed and all of you immediately went to your assigned place.
Practice went on–still between the Owl and Cat group. When Bokuto had to score against someone tall like Lev and Tsukishima, he didn’t kill the ball instead he hit it purposely against the block–returning it to the team for a more proper toss. Knowing how Hinata was hungry for development, surely he wouldn’t miss this.
After Bokuto managed to kill the ball with an intense straight towards the back line, he instantly approached him to ask about it. Soon, the game continued. This time, it was Lev who went for the score but managed to be soft-blocked by Akaashi. The last ball went to Hinata and you witnessed an absolutely underhanded way of blocking.
“Ah! Hey!” Bokuto screeched, also feeling the unfairness. “You guys are playing dirty!”
Hinata had to face three blockers above 185 cm with not a good toss.
“Nowhere to aim,” you muttered, narrowing your eyes in slight annoyance.
However, Hinata intended to face them–he hit the ball to Lev’s fingertips and it flew over before dropping to the inner-side of the opposite court. He jumped high enough and landed on his back instead.
“Shoyo-kun, you’re amazing!” running and kneeling beside him, you praised. Technically, you’re supposed to check on him but it flew over your mind for a second. “It’s an amazing block-out!”
“Did…you actually aim for that?” Kuroo questioned in disbelief. “That was an amazing wipe!”
“Well, I did aim for Lev’s fingertips.”
“What!?” Lev took a full offense in this.
Still, Bokuto was impressed by the lack of fear the younger had. The owl captain was showering him with praises as the rest of you watched from the sidelines. It went well until Bokuto proposed a ‘special move’which made almost everyone dropped their beliefs, Hinata seemed to be excited by it though.

I am so not shameless in simping for haikyuu boys but still, leave me alone and do not judge my single ass  ㅠ_ㅠ

Atsumu and Hinata shared looks again and again as they kept whispering to themselves about how Sakusa really allowed you to take the front sit whilst Bokuto went into his dejected mode. Seeing this, Atsumu quickly texted the group, and nudged Bokuto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was a fun afternoon with the team, and you got to know everyone through brief introduction. Contrary to Hinata’s initial belief, you actually got along with Adriah and Oliver the most amongst the older men, with you speaking fluent English.
Once lunch was over, the team had to head back to gym for their practice match with VC Kanagawa, where Atsumu introduced you to Riseki, his junior back in High School. You remembered him being the poor guy getting boo-ed and jeered at by his own cheering team, but you didn’t bring it up.
You also greet Chigaya, having a quick greeting with him as well.
“Broccoli…” You stared at his hair, causing the Shinzen alumni to step back in concern.
“What are you staring at…??”
“Hoh… Your hair,” you said innocently, “broccoli #2.” You reiterated your brother’s words, catching everyone off guard, and burst out into laughter. Even Sakusa had to look away to not let anyone see the tiny smile on his lips, but his shaking shoulders were quite obvious.
“You Kageyamas...!” Chigaya sobbed jokingly, and you chuckled. Soon, the team gathered for proper warm-ups and the match started.
Coach Foster asked for you to sit next to him, asking for you to keep track of his players’ performance, and so you did. Pulling out your laptop, you begin to type away at lightning speed at relevant details that you think the coach might appreciate.
The matches continued all the way until they played up to six matches, with MSBY winning 4 out of 6. The other team soon left after cleaning and warming up, whilst you waited by the bench. “Coach Foster, I’ve recorded down the scoring rally, and the top scorers for each match. Would you like me to have it sent over to you?”
“We have a printer in the back office, dear. Could you print it out for me?” Foster asked before looking over to Sakusa, requesting for the guy to show you the way.
“Why me, coach?” Sakusa asked as he folded the towel.
“Why not?” The older man smiled, but you said you just needed the direction. With a knowing smirk, Foster looked away from his player and told you how to get to his office. Once you got some sense of directions, you promised to get the printouts within minutes and jogged off.
“Is Sakusa too shy to get close to such a cute girl?” Meian joked, which Sakusa quickly denied. He saw no reason to follow you, especially when he was covered in sweat. He excused himself to refill his water once more, avoiding the crazy staring his team was giving him.
“Sakusa-san is still as difficult to figure out as before…” Chigaya commented, and Hinata perked up.
“Oh yeah, you two met back then, right? But wouldn’t you agree, him constantly staring at [y/n], kinda give off his secret?” The ginger laughed. Everyone in that gym was so sure of Sakusa’s crush, and it seemed he still hasn’t realized he was staring at you the entire time.
Sakusa was never one to look at anyone for more than a few seconds if they weren’t speaking or anything, and liked to keep to himself or stand away, but around you, he tends to linger.
As you were printing your notes, you received multiple notification from your personal email. Believing it was something important, you went to check it out, only to see it was sent from an odd looking email. The sender’s email provider was what got you worrying, though. It looked to be from a disposable email provider.
Subject: Hello <3 From: [email protected] To: [email protected]
(Attached 10 files)
You forwarded this email to your private email, and opened the attached files to see the person had sent you multiple images of your “Dakki” merch. Did this person figure out your identity? You bit your lips as you tried to think back if you might have been careless? Everyone should already know you’re Japanese, but not residing in Tokyo, but that was about it. The only people that knew your true identity were your family, the Haiba siblings, Asahi, Yachi, Hinata, Atsumu, Bokuto, Akaashi, Kozume, and Kuroo.
You knew none of them were dumb enough to leak your identity, but you also didn’t want to worry yourself over nothing. The dilemma was gnawing at you as you picked up the warm stack of papers.
Figuring it was the worst timing to think about it, you quickly made your way out of the office and came across Sakusa. “Hello Sakusa-san, were you refilling your bottle?”
“Yes. Are those the notes that you typed out? May I take a look?” Sakusa asked, eying at the stack of white in your hand. You blushed at the thought of Sakusa looking at your notes. What if he thought it was messy? Or it was too much?
Seeing how you showed signs of hesitancy, Sakusa retracted his question, apologizing for being straightforward about it.
“N-No! Erm, I was just worried you might not like how I took my notes but... Here you go,” you shyly held out your notes and Sakusa nodded, stating that he would never judge someone else’s note-taking since everyone has their own way.
Scanning through, he could say he was rather impressed at how well you recorded down everything with accuracy. He let out a small “heh” the moment he saw that he was the service ace for the day. Looked like he could rub this in Atsumu’s face again.
“You have great notes. Very neat, concise but detailed enough,” Sakusa complimented. You expected him to return the notes, however he held onto it, walking back to the gym.
“Sakusa-san?”
“You’re going to give them to Coach Foster, right? What difference does it make if I pass it to him?” Sakusa asked, opening the door.
“Right…” You murmured, keeping a loose lock of hair behind your ears and followed back. Your heart was beating slightly faster; was it because Sakusa praised you, or were you just happy that he didn’t find your notes too much? Or were you seriously letting the tiniest of admiration now festering into a crush?
No, it’s too soon since your last relationship, you shouldn’t get into one so soon!
“Oh, Sakusa, you went to check on y/n after all, huh?” Foster held an evil smirk, whilst Sakusa narrowed his eyes in a scowl, whilst the teams chuckled and pointed.
“I just wanted to look at what I was lacking before someone else touches the papers,” Sakusa explained, and took a sip out of his bottle.
“I hope it’s of help to you. Since I intruded in your practice, I figured the least I could do was make the best possible note! Oh, I listed VC Kanagawa’s players by names too, so it should be easier to identify!”
“You did a wonderful job! It’s a shame our manager position is not open, else I would have love for you to take on that role.”
“And I would have declined,” you laughed and began to pack up your stuff, “my hands are full, and I have an impromptu travelling tendency, so having a normal job is out of the question.”
“Impromptu travelling tendency?” Atsumu questioned.
“Aha, she attended Kingston University on a whim!” Hinata remembered, “she suddenly said she wanted to fly to England one day to Kageyama, and it took him, Tsukishima, Yachi, Yamaguchi, Sugawara-senpai and all of our juniors to convince her to rethink about her decision!”
“I- Hey! I wanted to study in Kingston, okay! I just didn’t...tell anyone back then...” You defended, albeit rather unconvincingly, with how your words trailed off. “...Fine! I’ll inform you guys earlier if I were to take off again, okay?”
“But why do you like travelling so much?” Bokuto asked with his head tilted.
“What’s not to like? You like to go overseas too, no?” You asked brightly as you remembered the last time you suddenly took off and landed in the middle of South America during your school term break.
“Yeah, I do, but you just up and go at times. Akaashi said you need to be put on a leash!”
“A leash? I never knew that Fukurodani setter of yours is so kinky with (y/n)~” Atsumu winked, but Sakusa clicked his tongue at the sudden turn of conversation. He was rather intrigued about your oddity for a second before the word ‘kinky’ was mentioned.
“Disgusting as always, Miya. Can’t you be mindful of your words around a lady, or do you lack the decency to?” Sakusa chided. Hinata and Bokuto both looked at each other, and another imaginary lightbulb went off.
“It’s fine, Sakusa-san, I’ve heard worse things,” you ascertained nonchalantly, but Sakusa still glowered at Atsumu. He was not sure as to why he reacted this way, but he didn’t like how he used that word with you in
“Still doesn’t make it any better,” Meian cut in, pulling Atsumu’s collar back as he smiled menacingly, knowing his player needed to stop saying stupid things at times before another unneeded problem arise.
Particularly Sakusa possibly murdering Atsumu.
Hinata and Bokuto insisted that you waited for them to get you home.
When night fell, you began your regular streaming and just as usual, your three VIPs, Bokuto, Atsumu and Hinata joined your stream. It was a very comfortable stream for the night; no games, just chatting. Maybe it was just to ease the nerve of what happened earlier in the day, but being able to just ramble about random topics helped with your rising anxiety.
Tumblr media
About an hour into your stream, a certain follower’s username caught your attention. Even though you have been thanking every single new followers, gifters, cheer bits and subscribers, this particular one got you wondering for a while. It was a twitch username 'Sakuomi' and your mind drifted to Sakusa Kiyoomi.
"No... Can't be him, nah..."
“Holy- Thank you for the follow and the Tier 3 sub for three-months in advance, Sakuomi. Welcoming to the family!” You smiled, and let your Vtuber model waved.
Sakuomi: It is no problem. I appreciate your energy, and have been putting you as my background noise whilst cleaning.
“Well, I’m glad my streams keep you company while you do so,” you laughed softly.
Sakuomi: It's no big deal. My cousin highly recommended me to watch you, and I just gave it a try. I look forward to your chill stream from now on.
"That’s nice! Then I hope I won't disappoint you," you replied.
Sakuomi: You haven't. And I don't think you will.
A smile stretched across your face. For the first time in a month, you were finally smiling from the bottom of your heart.
"You have no idea how much those words mean to me. Well, enough with such sappy moments..." You then looked at the notes you have next to you, one which you prepared to help you go through the topics you wished to go through for today. You spoke about the schedule for the following weeks, updates on new video games that you had already planned on playing by the year end.
You also spoke about volleyball, just a tad bit. It wasn’t unusual, even though you were known to be a gamer streamer, since you and Kozume, an ex setter, were friends. You always managed to speak about how amazing a certain team were. You jumped around a lot, and try not to speak about the Japanese teams too much, since your brother would always text you and say “could you not compliment Sakusa and Hoshiumi so much? I exist too, you know?!?”
But you couldn’t help yourself whenever you watched Schweiden or MSBY on your spare time; Tobio had always been amazing so you never paid him any mind after junior high.
Just as you were about to close off your stream on the 3rd hour, you took a deep breath and became serious. You really wanted to get it off your chest, and you knew it was better to say it now than later.
"It has come to my attention that a few people were getting too overboard with intruding on my privacy. Just a small reminder to please be mindful of VTuber's private life. We hope you guys understand that we are VTubers for a lot of reason, with mine being privacy and safety as my prioty. I really hope I don’t have to keep reminding people of this. I understand wanting to get to know people you like, but at times you have to remember that it might get uncomfortable. It happened during the coop after the chasm archon quest, but I hope it doesn’t occur again.”
Your chat was spammed with support and love for you, scolding those that even tried to pry into your private life. You were glad that your community understood, and your moderators also pinned your message in your discord server as a “kind” reminder.
That was when you received a whisper from Sakuomi. You normally wouldn’t really want to read them but for some reason, your instinct told you to open them.
“I suggest you reach out to the police if you do feel like your life in in danger.”
You typed back a quick reply.
“Thank you very much Sakuomi. I will definitely reach out to the proper authorities.”
~~~~
“...Why did I even send her a private message.” Sakusa closed Dakki’s stream and sighed. He was lucky that Dakki was kind enough to even reply him.
He stared at the hoodie that was delivered to him with the words “Darken Sun” embroided on the cuff in black. It wasn’t very visible if you were just walking pass but Sakusa noticed it well. The material was of high quality, one which even shocked Sakusa when he first felt it. He honestly believed that it was going to be of a cheaper quality but instead, he actually pleasantly surprised at how well it suit his wardrobe.
Trust his cousin to know him a little bit, he guessed. But he still wondered why Komori was so insistent about him buying from this VTuber.
Haikyuu boys when they have a match!
I have been watching the volleyball tokyo olympics and was inspired!
Kuroo | Bokuto | Oikawa x f! reader
Kuroo Tetsuro
Before game, he'll text you all about the game later on. His opponent and how good they were, and whether it would be a challenging match. How he'd be worried about Lev's blocking or whether Kenma would be able to handle the long game.
The Nekoma captain might look all cool and suave but he still gets a little nervous especially before big games and talking to you all about it calms his nerves. I
t'll be bonus for him if he could see you before his game and he gets to envelope you into a big hug and take in the scent of your shampoo. It just calms his nerves.
After he comes out to the court and briefs the team, he'll scan the audiences and find you. He's a sucker if you wear anything related to his team. Red or white or with the number 1 on it. Hell, he'll almost lose himself if you wear his old jerseys.
He'll give you one of his trademark smirk and you could see the pride in his eyes knowing that you're here.
When he scores a satisfying point, he would glance at you for the 0.1 second and he will swell with pride seeing you standing and cheering loudly and proudly for him.
If he wins, after the game and his team debriefing, he'll look for you and he'll tease you to no ends, "someone looks great cheering in my jersey~"
If he loses, he'll be a little more clingy and ask you for kisses and cuddles to make him feel better.
Bokuto Koutaro
He'll beg you to come to every of his game. "Please please please baby!!!" he'll give you his best puppy eyes. Hey, being the girlfriend of Bokuto, you'll have to take out time to attend his games.
If you really couldn't make it, he'll be pouty for at least half a day and also the night before the game, but you'll have to sweet talk him out of it. ALL THE TIME.
The first thing he does is scan for you when he comes out to the court and gives you that big grin.
If you're wearing his jersey or anything of his, he'll be super elated and aggressive in his serves and spikes, this boy just wants to do you proud so bad.
This boy is nothing but subtle so whenever he gets hyped up and wins a point he looks in your direction with sparkles in his eyes and smiles with glee as he sees you cheering and clapping.
When he gets dejected and goes into emo mode in game, Akaashi ALWAYS uses you as an excuse. "look, y/n is cheering for you!"
You'll have to shout from the stands sometimes, "Don't mind don't mind Bokuto!!" and the moment he hears it, it'll perk up his energy, "Akaashi! Give me the next one, I can't let my baby owl down!!"
If he wins, he'll hug you so tightly and spin you around, "it's all cause you're here, my lucky charm!!"
If he loses, he'll definitely go into his emo-mode but no worries, you'll be able to cheer him up easily, because it's you, his baby owl.
Oikawa Tooru
He'll be a little dramatic if you didn't come to one of his games, "my dear girlfriend has forsaken me~"
He has SOOOOO many fan girls, sometimes you get stressed going to his game and you seldom wore his jerseys because it'll make the other girls give you that stare.
But your man loves it when you come to his game. He'll search the stands for you and give you a little soft smile. He'll also have those little codes for you; tapping his nose twice, means "I love you"
After the game, he'd come to the stands and all the girls would be squealing and he'd envelope you into a hug in front of all of them. He'll take your hands and bring you back stage and would ask you to wait outside the locker rooms for them to finish their briefing and cool downs.
He'll be all proud and hell of a show off if he wins the game, "did you watch me y/n-chan~ Isn't your boyfriend so sexy~" If Iwaizumi was in a good mood, he'd get off with just a grunt. But on some days he'll get beaten on the head.
If he happened to lose the game, he'll be all sulky and more clingy to you, wanting you to hold him and hug him or even pat his head.
Some days when he's a little more quiet, you'll know that it's because he's in pain, probably because of his old knee injury so you'll just bring him a pack of ice when you get home and his face would light up, "oh my sweet lil chibi-chan~"
Control Freak Tendencies
With: Bokuto Genre: angst to fluff Warnings: bokuto is unconsciously manipulative in this WC: 1.2k
Tumblr media
You’ve got a nice ball of energy for a boyfriend and it’s everything that’s been making you sleep nicer at night
He is also someone who is especially adept with emotions so he knows when something is off with you. He sends you hugs and showers you with lots of kisses. But of course, life is not a fairy tale and Bokuto comes with his own imperfections.
Being sensitive with emotions also brings him knowledge on how to use them best
It wasn’t intentional but he unconsciously manipulates you into doing things he wants. When you realized it, there was nothing but a rotten feeling growing in your chest.
The warm sun against your face was the first thing you felt as your senses awakened on a lazy Sunday morning. The second thing was the heavy arm against your stomach restraining your breathing. You looked to your right and found your boyfriend still deep in slumber. It was a nice view to see everyday.
But as much as you wanted to stay, you promised your friends lunch today so you slowly crept out of bed. Knowing your boyfriend, you know waking him up is the least of your concerns since he sleeps like a bear in hibernation. You dashed to the bathroom and got ready to go.
Just when you were about to finish your shower, a gentle series of knocks disturbed the silence in the bathroom. “Baby?” you hear Koutarou’s raspy morning voice seep through the door. You grabbed your robe and hastily wrapped it around you, “Yes, baby?” Your half-awake boyfriend stood before the door, head covered under the blanket he is still clutching. Upon seeing you freshly showered, he rubbed his eyes, “Going somewhere?”
You nodded, walking past him and got to the closet, yanking pieces of clothing out. “Can I go with you?” he asks. You frown, “It’s a lunch with the girls, baby.”
“Can’t I go?” his eyes turn glassy as he pouts behind you, towering your small stature. This is exactly what you were wary of, his clinginess.
“Baby, you know the girls don’t like it when a partner comes in at our lunch dates,” you sigh.
“But it’s lonely here without you,” he reasons, almost breaking your walls. But this lunch is something you’ve promised with your friends that you wouldn’t miss unless you are on the brink of death, that is. And it’s something that keeps you, you.
You face your boyfriend, hands coming up to cradle his face. He instantly slouches to feel your warmth better. “Baby,” you start, “This is one thing I can’t skip so please behave, okay? I’ll just get you a treat once I’m back.”
He sniffs, tears starting to break out, “But you can always attend your next lunch dates! Would you rather me be lonely?”
You huff, now angry. Here he goes again, using emotions to battle everything with you. He somehow always manages to guilt-trip you over small things you wanted to do for yourself and it’s taking a toll on you. He follows you when you go to the bathroom to get dressed but you slammed the door to his face.
“Are you angry now?” he sobs behind the door.
You don’t answer him because you can’t take his possessive antics. You ignored his ramblings, drowning him with the sound of music from your phone. By the time you were done, you dashed to the door out with Koutarou trailing behind you, calling out your name.
“Come on now, baby. Listen to me,” he says and you halt, turning to him with a glare.
“You can’t lock me up in here just because it makes you lonely, ‘Tarou! I’m also a person with a life aside from the one I live with you so I’m going whether you like it or not!” you storm out, making sure the door closes with a loud bang behind you. You didn’t spare him a glance because you know it will also hurt to see him so dejected but that habit of his has to go.
And now here you are, headed home with a heavy feeling in your gut. All throughout the lunch date, you were bugged by the confrontation you had with Bokuto. And it did not help when everyone talked about each other’s relationship. You didn’t open up the fight, you don’t want to dampen the lighthearted atmosphere. You kept it all in until the very moment you had to enter your apartment to be welcomed by an eerily still home.
Not even the television was on, and you have a gut feeling your boyfriend is not home either. Your heart skipped a beat, anxiety creeping up in your veins. You called out his name to make sure but there were no responses. A lot of negative thoughts were running through your mind as you scampered to the bedroom, to the bathroom, to every nook and canny in your house just to make sure Koutarou isn’t hiding there, depressed. But your big buff boyfriend is nowhere to be found.
You pulled out your phone to dial his number when the door opened, revealing none other than Koutarou. He stood there – dumbfounded.
“It’s only two,” he murmurs as if he had been found out. Well, you think he is at least, as you take in the box he before him, roses peeking out of it. You have an inkling of what he plans to do with them.
“Yeah, two,” your voice was shaking when you spoke. Chest heaving up and down as you stop yourself from breaking down. You were so close to weeping your heart out in the thoughts of your boyfriend leaving but now that he is here, you don’t know how to approach him. Are you supposed to be mad again? But your heart says it needs a warm, tight hug from him.
Bokuto deflates before you – emo mode. His eyes were on the ground as he mumbles, “I’m sorry I messed up I didn’t mean to be so clingy, annoying, and possessive, and I don’t want you missing out on events because you don’t ever do that to me. And I know how important your friends are to you – ”
“Tarou,” you attempt to stop him but he completely ignores you, lost in his trance.
“ – and it doesn’t help that I could get so childish sometimes. And I know I can get so annoying and unbearable and I’m lucky to have you and I don’t know – ”
“Koutarou, stop!” you lunge at him, throwing your arms around his neck, clinging ever so tightly.
“Don’t do that again,” you say against his neck. You feel his arms creeping around your waist, the box on the floor long forgotten. “It also pains me to think I’ll have to leave you.”
“I know baby,” he kisses your cheek, “Why were you early though? I was supposed to throw rose petals everywhere! The plan is now wasted.” He groans loudly as he carries you to the living room, settling on the couch with you on his lap.
“I’m here to stop you so I don’t have to clean your mess.” You answer, booping his nose with your index finger.
He gasps dramatically, hand slapping his mouth, “Babe it was a surprise, you know. That hurts.”
You just laugh at him before you were silenced by a sweet kiss from him, “That was actually one of the five boxes. Can you help me pick them up from the car?”
Reassuring Them When They’re Feeling Insecure
A/n: ITS SEMI-FLUFF TIME though I was tempted to write more pure angst, but like,,, the desire for fluff won out!
*G/n reader*
Sakusa Kiyoomi
He’s really not the kind of person to overthink, Omi’s learned not to sweat the little stuff. He knows he’s a good player and person, and if he ever gets down over something, he has your support🥺 So it’s never too bad when he’s upset. People can be pretty judgmental over his habits sometimes, and that can be a bit discouraging if he lets their words effect him. But once there’s a bond formed with a person, any misconceptions are gone. At least they usually are. Sakusa let’s himself be open with other people only after he feels he can trust them. You can imagine his surprise when he hears a relatively close teammate talk about his clean “freak” habits like it was plaguing the whole team. It hurts more than he wants to admit. He tries to ignore the betrayal and focus on volleyball, but he’s feeling guilty over the slight possibility he could be disrupting his team. Getting home that day, he’ll continue to push down his worries. Within a minute you can tell something must’ve happened. Gently pulling him away from his brooding to sit on your bed, you cup his face and ask him what’s wrong. He’s finally breaking down over what his teammate said. You’re quick to reassure him his habits could in NO WAY hurt others😤😡 Sakusa has pulled you on top of him at this point and has buried his face into the crook of your neck. You’re both there for the rest of the night. Quiet reassurances of how his habits are his and how he’s always going to be perfect to you, pull pouts smiles out of your boyfriend.
Bokuto Koutaro
Well, he’s always had lots of moments where he felt he wasn’t good enough. Bokuto’s a rollercoaster of ups and down, his feelings constantly changing. You already know how to help him feel better when he goes into his emo modes. Honestly, just your presence alone will boost his mood.
You: *exists*
Bokuto: It’s free serotonin, baby😎
Ya, his bummed moments never last long when he has you. People will joke about the face he makes when you show up during his emo modes. The instant change from dejection to happy relief is both adorable and hilarious. However, his mood not changing with you by his side, is a dead giveaway that something is seriously wrong. Bokuto’s sitting on your guy’s couch when he bursts into tears over overhearing that you would be better with someone more mature. And then he’s feeling even worse over crying over it. Isn’t he just proving their point? He’s turning away when he hears the door open, your cheery voice calling out. “Kou! I’m sorry I’m late, love! It was crazy at work today, we didn’t have any- You stop when you realize he hasn’t come to give you a hug like usual. Calling his name, you walk into the living room to find him hunched and facing away from you. Jogging over to him and asking if he’s alright, worry fills your gut at the lack of response and tear tracks on his face. You wrap your arms around him hoping for a response. Slight relief runs through you as he puts his own arms around you. He’s crying harder now and he can’t help the rambled confession of him not being good enough when he’s always so immature. He hates when “you need someone better” slips out. He hates the possibility of you agreeing. But he loves when you automatically tell him he’s the best for you, that no one else could fit by your side as well as him. You also assure him you’re just as immature and childish at times, and that the only one who’s truly mature is Akaashi. That gets a laugh out of him. Once his tears have stopped and he’s smiling, you pull him up to start dinner with him. It’s full of laughter and jokes... and also nearly starting a fire. Y’all shouldn’t be in the kitchen alone together lmao
Atsumu Miya
He’s learned over time not to take comments about him being rude or the worse twin to heart. Atsumu’s always had to deal with insecurities, and he’s developed a thick skin to most things. Yet, the third time he screws up his serve in practice, old comments about him start flowing into his mind. He doesn’t want to think they’re true. He’s more off today then he’s been in years though. Then the intrusive thought that his brother would be doing better if he was hear came. He decides to stay a little longer to keep practicing after that. A little longer turns into two hours. He’s not responding to your texts and he’s always quick to answer you, even at odd times of the day. Walking into the gym, you wanna be mad, but the look on his face is of pure frustration. Waiting for the ball to leave his hands so you can avoid being hit, you make your way over to grab his callused hands and look them over. He’s panting, obviously exhausted. Tightening the hold on his hands the moment he tries to tug them away, mumbling he still needs to work and that you should head back home since he’ll be here awhile. “Hey, Tsumu, come on.. did something happen? I’ll listen if that’s what you need or I can try to help, but please talk to me.” His face is contorting and it looks like he trying to hold back tears. Which doesn’t work very well considering the next second they’re rolling down his face. “I just need to be a better player.” Frowning you assure he’s already an incredible volleyball player. He’s shaking his head, choking over his words as he rehashes that he has to be better unless he really is the inferior twin. Giving his hands a squeeze, you chuckle, earning a testy eyed glare from your boyfriend. You tell him all the ways he is most certainly not inferior to his brother. You also make sure to bring up how him and Osamu are completely different and so neither can be inferior to the other. But you do tell him this twin is your favorite. “I would hope so, you are dating this one.” He smiles a little, and you wipe a stray tear off his cheek. Walking out of the gym hand in hand, you ask Atsumu if he’s hungry, smiling when he nods. “Maybe we can get onigiri from that Miya place.” Laughing at his scowl, you than suggest making some onigiri yourself’s. It turns out a little lumpy and it’s obvious somethings off, but you know you’d take this over Osamu’s professional food any day. Atsumu wraps you in a hug when you tell him so. He’s not gonna let go for a long time, he loves you too much :,)
