i read a shanks x buggy fic for the first time 3 days ago and now its all i can think about. i wake up thinking about them and i cant sleep until they've had another happily ever after. how do i turn this function if my brain off

Buggy had known that his escape from impel down is impossible, but he had enough of torture, humiliation and degradation.

buggy couldn't find any reason to stay alive. He had known that rest of his life will be in this hell. He couldn't just stay and constantly suffer. Buggy wanted quick death, so he get out of his cell.

That’s the last Shanks hears as his first mate expertly distracts the Phoenix, allowing Shanks to proceed unimpeded to where he can sense his doctor, his brat, and his brat’s brother. There a semi-familiar Haki there as well - Deuce, probably, given what Buggy had mentioned earlier - and another he doesn’t know yet. Trafalgar, likely.

They’re getting further away from the beach now, and Shanks’ Haki leads them into a smaller clearing away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Shirohige. He can sense Newgate himself further to the right, probably in another clearing so his doctors can monitor him without the rest of the crew hovering like mother hens - though it certainly seems like at least half of his commanders are sticking close by. No wonder, after the stunt the man had tried to pull two days ago.

But that’s all Shanks allows himself to think about that, because they’ve just reached the clearing and his eyes have landed on his heavily bandaged brat and all thoughts leave his head except for one: his kid is ALIVE.

Headcanon: Shanks collects the treasure maps he finds during his travels so that he can send them as “mystery” gifts to Buggy every year. Buggy knows they’re from Shanks but refuses to voice his thanks out of childish stubbornness/awkwardness. If Shanks’s favorite East Blue liquor happens to always arrive on the Red Force soon after? Shh, its just a happy coincidence!
