Author's Note: I wanted to write a happy prompt for today but it's more bittersweet than anything. I always want to dive a little more into the dynamic between Korkie and Bo, especially after Satine's death, so I'm glad I had the chance with this. Please enjoy!

Life As We Know It AU

"I never had to think for three people before. Hell, I barely had to think for one."

When Bo-Katan Kryze agreed to becoming godparent to her nephew, alongside his other aunt, Ahsoka Tano, she thought it meant sending gifts twice a year and attending a family dinner every so often. Not inheriting a one year old son, still alongside Ahsoka, when her sister and her husband were killed in a fiery crash.

Bo and Ahsoka move in with Korkie, and each other, and slowly but surely, with a lot of stops, starts, tantrums, and tears, become a family, and then a couple.

Bo-Katan Week Sneak Peek #1

since I’m in desperate need of external motivation to finish, here is a snippet from my fill for Day 1 of @bokatanweek: Aunt Bo

Bo-Katan found herself in a sitting room with a long, low couch and two chairs that she recognized from the Kryze Stronghold on Kalevala. Satine stood  between the couch and a coffee table laden with breakfast foods, trapping a small, chunky toddler against her hip with one arm around his waist. With her free hand she was sweeping what appeared to be powdered sugar out of his strawberry-blonde hair, all the while the boy giggled like an adorable criminal.

“Look at you,” Satine sighed. “Pastries are for eating, Korkie, not for wearing.” Giving up, she set Korkie back down and raised her head, looking directly at Bo-Katan, who shrank back instinctively. Satine only smiled.

“There you are,” she said. “Come and have breakfast before the food gets cold.”

Holding her hands anxiously to her chest, Bo-Katan made her way around the couch and sat down in one of the chairs. Korkie was sitting on the couch with his legs in a V, his hands jammed between his thighs. He grinned at her from ear to ear.

“Hi!” he exclaimed. “I’m Corgi!”

“Korkie,” Satine corrected automatically, settling back down.

Bo-Katan’s heart did flips in her chest. “Hi, Korkie,” she said. “I’m Bo.”

Sneak Peek Bo-Katan Week Day 2: Sisters (possibly with a side of Redemption)

I was going to try to wait to share these all in their entirety, but I finished this one today and I am so in love with it that I had to share a teeny bit! So excited for this week and all the heartbreak that is going to come with it.

But Satine, as had always been the case, surprised Bo.

Her features softened. The shock washed away and a small, sad smile graced her face. “I remember a time when we weren’t enemies. Perhaps that time has come again.”

The shock of it made Bo’s body want to freeze and process, but they had no time. She smashed her helmet back on, hoping she did it in time to hide the look of absolute befuddlement that washed over her, and gestured down the corridor. “We need to move.”

As they ran, Bo could not help but think- was it really that simple for Satine? Bo had worked against her for years, yet she saw Bo's face, saw her attempt to help, and all was forgiven? Just like that?

Bo had spent the last nearly two decades with a man who held a grudge like no other. Forgiveness that quick, simple, and pure was baffling.

“I could never stay angry at you, Bo. I promise.”

Satine had said that to her once when they were children. 

And she was keeping her promise to Bo. She could never stay angry at her, no matter what Bo had done, she would not stay angry.

Is it okay to participate on the event some time later? I really liked the prompts but I don't have time to participate on it right now

Yes, of course!! There's never really any official end date to when you're able to submit prompt fills. It's always been my goal to make this event as low pressure as possible, and Bo-Katan appreciation is welcome year-round! 💙

Admittedly, I don't check this blog as often outside of the event itself, but that just means it's best to @bokatanweek so I can be sure to see your post! I certainly wouldn't want to miss anything.

Fenn Rau is one of the survivors of the Great Purge. He returns home to his family, to his wife... and her feelings are no longer what they used to be. Bo-Katan loves someone else...

She knew logically there was nothing to worry about, but she can't calm herself down. Author's Note: I didn't realize how many of my Bo week prompts turned into DinBo until I really looked at it, but it's fine. I think this is one of my favorites that I wrote this time around, because I got to write more of Bo and Satine interacting and being sisters. I hope you all enjoy!
