So now that I’ve finally got this sidebar image done, it’s time to officially announce that we’ve started a Bofur/Nori ship blog called fyeahstolenhats!  The mods are myself, bofursbooty, donytello, and goldberry-in-the-rushes.  We will be reblogging any art, fic, edits, meta, and whatever else we can find for this ship, and followers are welcome to send in headcanons or just chat about them as well.  Basically this pairing needs more love, but we know there are more fans out there, so we wanted to make a place for everybody who likes them. :) If you’re a fan of this lovely ship, come on over and say hi!

i have a drabble for my fem!kili universe involving stolen hats: 

Nori just gets back to the Ered Luin just in time to find out that the mines have collapsed.

He starts to run to the mine entrance, forgetting that Dwalin might be there.

Only to be caught by Kíli and her dragging him to the royal’s house, making him stay there while she gets Bofur.

And it basically ends like:

Kíli: Did you shag on my table? Nori: *flatly* No Kíli: I will find out if you did, and I will have my revenge… Nori: How? Kíli: *smirks* Does Dori know about him yet? Nori: …That’ s just cruel

Technically Nori stole that scarf from his brother, so it still counts as part of his craft. Meanwhile Bofur totally just slapped some mettalic paint onto a string of wooden beads and called it an evening. Best last minute gift exchange ever.

Bofur is a nonsense dwarf. One only has to look at his ridiculous fashion sense and cheerful grin to see that he's hardly the type of person to take things seriously. But no, he's not really looking for a relationship. Why would he? They're busy trying to slay a dragon, he doesn't have time to mess around with romance! Until a very handsome dwarf walks by, and he's instantly smitten. And also very stupid. He's well aware.

(Or, that one where Bofur and Nori are both idiots [again], Bofur makes some friends in odd places, and Bifur might start cracking heads together if his cousin and Nori don't sit down and talk to each other)

Bofur/Nori

Fake dating - Nori and Bofur go out on a fake date in order to either help Bofur get over a failed relationship, or to give Nori a cover so that the cops don’t come after him? I’ve never really gotten into the “fake dating” idea for fic? But I could be wrong. Derp.

Bodyswap - They’re not really all that fussed about it. Nori laments that Bofur doesn’t keep up his meticulous ‘do, and Bofur feels intensely weird not wearing his hat, but it’s not the end of the world? Dori and Ori keep getting confused, and Dori accidentally gets into an argument with Bofur, thinking he’s Nori, before he remembers, oops. Bombur ends up clamming up around Bofur in Nori’s body by accident because, well, shy. Bifur is probably the one who adjusts the quickest. :D

Sexpollen/fuck or die/aliens made them do it - Bofur is bothered by it because they’re not In Love, but Nori figures, hey, they at least care about each other, and that’s more than some couples do, especially when the passion has died. Afterwards, Nori ends up isolating himself to process it while Bofur is hurt at the seeming rejection, but at the same time hovers near his family, because he does better around people when he’s trying to recover from something.

Dark!fic - Gah, I hate dark!fic. Um, either Nori blackmails Bofur into having sex with him, or Bofur uses brute force to get a piece of dat ass. *headdesk*

Secret kinks - I like to think that Nori either has a bit of a sadist kink, or is into knifeplay (not necessarily bloodplay). Bofur could be an autoerotic asphyxiator, though I’m not sure why that came to mind?

Their first kiss - They get pretty hammered at a bar in Lake-Town, and it was one of those kisses where it’s more slobber than kiss. They wake up half-clothed in bed with each other, stare at each other, and try the kiss again. (Though maybe after they’ve brushed their teeth, or whatever dental care there is in Middle-Earth.)

Meeting the parents - This is kind of funny because the closest thing to parents Bofur has is most likely Bifur, given their relative ages, and Bifur’s got the head injury, so Bifur might or might not be concerned about tradition. Or Bifur may just go, “Fuck, have fun!”Dori would be an interesting case (yeah, I’m uninteresting in that I figure the Ri parents are dead, sorry) because Dori and Nori have this antagonistic relationship, and yet Nori’s the one who seems to be getting serious. Dori wants to go into mother-hen mode and worry about propriety and making sure it’s an equitable trade between families and all the courtship rituals go smoothly, but it’s also Nori. So, Dori’s quite polite to Bofur, but he’s sort of half keeping an eye on him, and half throwing his hands up in the air in frustration because ARGH, NORI.

Moving in together - Nori moves in with Bofur, because he’s never had a place to call his own. He spent so many years out in the wilderness as a poacher that there were shelters that he stayed in when convenient, but there was never a “home” he could come back to, especially since he and Dori were always at each other’s throats. I figure that Bofur makes the offer, but Nori acts like a suspicious cat who deigns to show up, and when he doesn’t get actively attacked, yelled at, or thrown out, he awkwardly moves in.

A crossover of my choice - (Multi-Fandom Hunger Games) Bofur’s reaped for the Hunger Games, and Nori’s his mentor (and before the games, his lover). Nori survived his Games because he just flat-out ran out of fucks to give, and he tries to save Bofur. Bofur does everything he can to keep the other Middle-Earth tribute safe, which makes Nori tear out his hair. Nori wheels and deals hard with sponsors because he uses the parachutes to send Bofur messages, pleading with him to not throw his life away for the other tribute. Bofur ends up cursing Nori when, the very first time Nori tells him that he loves him is in a note with a parachute with soup that Bofur shares with his fellow tribute.

Bofur wins the Games that year, he and Nori reunite, and they start the planning for a rebellion against the Games.

An au of my choice - (Modern, reincarnation, all humans) Bofur runs himself ragged taking care of his disabled cousin, younger brother, going to school, working two part-time jobs.

And, oh yeah, having a relationship with an internationally famous criminal mastermind.

If you like, another trope/scenario of your choice - Geez. Um. *thinks* The American Wild West, but with magic.

Nori is a traveling con artist who can whistle up the wind. Bofur can convince solid rock to reshape itself into whatever form he wants. The Dust Bowl is coming, and they learn that there’s a malevolent force that’s controlling the dust storms, and they’re the only ones who can stop it.

DUN DUN DUN.
