Dear All,

I wanted to wish You an Amazing Year 2025, full of love, joy and prosperity!

The 2024 was an intense year for me: I had 2 solo exhibitions (one with over 70 guests in @volvocarwarszawa ) and over 26: group exhibitions, art auctions, art residencies, expos, art fairs etc.

My artworks travelled and were exhibited in Canada, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Switzerland and Paris, plus multiple cities in Poland.

I myself went to Greece for 10 days, which was awesome, but I’ve spent the majority of my year exploring new and fascinating places in Poland.

I worked hard, did many commissioned works, sold a lot of graphics, paintings, one female mannequin plus a number of animal figures. My plan is to continue painting more animal statues and I already have a new one waiting for me at home 🤩

I also had multiple interviews, both in the press, radio and on television, I collaborated with @alonazozulia @artursochancaravaggio and @paulgavlic_official on an amazing video performance project ONA/SHE (this was my first time ever doing something that extraordinary).

Furthermore, I finally got to witness my illustrations being published in a physical book 📖 “Mara and the Bad Wolf” by @kekampeasrittenhouse which was an unforgettable experience. It’s been 15 years since a physical book with my images was published, “The Wind in the Willows” was sadly never published and all the other commissioned illustrations were published online as e-books.

I also created 3 very large, hand painted textiles (3x1 metres each) which was a new record for me in terms of size. One can see them till mid February at @dokursynow in Warsaw, 12b Kajakowa St.

With all the successes in 2024, it was also a challenging year. I had many health issues which had to be overcome, and I realised that my body has its limitations, therefore I had to become more aware of the consequences of not taking care of myself.

Thank goodness I have a supportive, loving family, who were willing to help me out when needed.

I’m hoping that 2025 will provide me with more travelling possibilities, and that I’ll be physically capable of doing the things I want to do, such as hiking, swimming etc.

Sandeep Marwah Addresses the 10th India International MSME Expo, Highlights the Vital Role of MSMEs in India’s Growth

New Delhi, September 2024: Dr. Sandeep Marwah, founder of Marwah Studios and President of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), delivered an impactful address at the 10th India International MSME Expo, held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. In recognition of his significant contributions, Dr. Marwah was also recently inducted into the national board of the MSME Development Forum by its Chairman, Rajnish Goenka.

With over 60 million MSMEs operating in India, they provide employment to more than 120 million people, contributing significantly to India’s GDP. Dr. Marwah further elaborated on how the media and entertainment industry, being largely composed of MSMEs, plays a crucial role in influencing culture, generating content, and providing services on both domestic and international platforms. Supporting these MSMEs, he noted, is essential for ensuring the growth of not just the industry but the nation’s economy as a whole.

Dr. Marwah encouraged stakeholders, including government bodies, private organizations, and individuals, to come together to empower MSMEs by offering them the necessary resources, tools, and platforms for expansion. “If we are truly committed to achieving rapid economic growth for India, we must focus on nurturing our MSMEs. By providing them with access to finance, technology, and a supportive ecosystem, we can help them scale their operations and reach new heights,” he said.

In addition to highlighting the media and entertainment sector, Dr. Marwah also discussed the importance of innovation and technology adoption in MSMEs across all sectors, including manufacturing, services, and agriculture. He lauded the initiatives taken by the government and urged for a continued focus on strengthening this sector, which is essential for India’s goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy.

The 10th India International MSME Expo, a key platform for stakeholders across various industries, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by MSMEs. Dr. Marwah’s presence and address were met with resounding applause, recognizing his continued efforts to support MSMEs and promote innovation within the media and entertainment industry.

A dog may be preliminary screened at a younger age, but will not receive a certification unless the dog is at least 24 months old. OFA is also now doing certifications for other canine health concerns such as normal thyroid levels, check with OFA for accurate data and rules concerning these. Manuel Cargaleiro (16 de março de 1927 – 30 de junho de 2024) foi um artista português com uma obra variada maioritariamente caracterizada pelo Expressionismo Abstrato, pintor e ceramista, mas também desenhador, gravador e escultor.

Cargaleiro aprendeu como um autodidata. Apaixonado pelas cores deixa um legado com inspiração no azulejo tradicional português, arte que ainda mantém importância em Portugal, e que foi trazida pelos árabes para a Península Ibérica.

Não por acaso, o arquitecto Siza Vieira chamou-o para escolher a cor dos azulejos do Pavilhão de Portugal na Expo 98. Cargaleiro acabou por levar a cerâmica produzida em Portugal a outros países, nomeadamente França e Itália.

Estabeleceu-se em França em 1957, país que se tornou a sua casa. Foi influenciado por artistas da École de Paris, como Robert Delaunay, Max Ernst, Victor Vasarely e Paul Klee. As suas composições baseiam-se em módulos geométricos e cores primárias, sugerindo movimento no espaço.

Tribute to Manuel Cargaleiro (1927 - 2024) - Coded Dialogues

Manuel Cargaleiro (16 March 1927 – 30 June 2024) was a Portuguese artist with a varied body of work mostly characterized by Abstract Expressionism, painter and ceramist , but also draftsman, engraver and sculptor.

Cargaleiro learned as a self-taught person. Passionate about colors, he leaves a legacy inspired by traditional Portuguese tiles, an art that still maintains importance in Portugal, and which was brought by the Arabs to the Iberian Peninsula.

Not by chance, the architect Siza Vieira called him to choose the color of the tiles for the Portuguese Pavilion at Expo 98. Cargaleiro ended up taking the ceramics produced in Portugal to other countries, namely France and Italy.

He settled in France in 1957, a country which became his home. He was influenced by artists from the École de Paris, such as Robert Delaunay, Max Ernst, Victor Vasarely, and Paul Klee. His compositions are based on geometrical modules and primary colors, suggesting movement in space.

Deb JJ Lee (she/they) is an illustrator and graphic novelist based in Brooklyn, New York, who began their dive into independent illustration in 2020 after leaving Silicon Valley as a full-time product designer/illustrator. This was barely two years after their graduation from Carnegie Mellon University School of Design, where Deb, by their final year, decided they needed to become an illustrator. A maximalist first and human second, Deb has a penchant for making sense of clutter, detail, and body language into lush unique compositions, patterns, and bold color palettes to communicate the right emotion to the viewer, whether it is through a book cover, poster, or an entire graphic novel. Their first graphic novel titled IN LIMBO, a YA memoir that explores the intersection of mental illness, Korean-American diaspora, family conflict, publishes in 2023 with First Second Books. Following the debut is THE OTHER SIDE OF TOMORROW by Tina Cho where Deb illustrates a tale of children escaping North Korea, which will land on bookshelves in 2024 with Harper Collins. While they particularly enjoy working with emotional storytelling involving AAPI topics, Deb is adamant about having an evergreen breadth of projects that expands beyond Asian America that allows them to make a meticulous illustration each better than the last.
