I know you've been
Hurt by someone else
I can tell by the way
You carry yourself
But if you let me
Here's what I'll do
I'll take care of you
I, I've loved and lost
The same as you
So you see I know
Just what you've been through
But if you'll let me
Here's what I'll do
I just got to take care of you
You won't ever have to worry
You won't ever have to cry
I'll be there beside you
To dry your weeping eyes

Bobby 'Blue' Bland
Bobby was born in Barretville, Tennessee. He dropped out of school in third grade to work in the cotton fields. He acquired the name "Bland" from his stepfather, Leroy Bridgeforth, who was also called Leroy Bland. He was called Bobby 'Blue' because of his bluesy voice.
He moved to Memphis in 1947, where he started singing with local gospel groups. Eager to expand his interests, he began frequenting the city's famous Beale Street, where he became associated with a circle of aspiring musicians, including B.B. King, Rosco Gordon, Junior Parker and Johnny Ace, who collectively were known as the Beale Streeters. Bobby developed a sound that mixed gospel with the blues and R&B. He has been described as one of the great storytellers of blues and soul music.
Robert Calvin Brooks died on June 23, 20113 in Germantown, Tennessee at the age of 83.

While, clearing up this mess I’ll listen to potential tracks to get me in the mood for this evening. As I get my…

“Soul My Way” (Smash 1967) o cuando Jerry Lee consiguió cristalizar un poderoso LP de rhythm and blues, a conservar junto a “Beat & Soul” de los Everly Brothers. Entre otras cosas, contiene buenas versiones de “Turn On Your Lovelight” de Bobby Bland, “Treat Her Right” de Roy Head y “Hey Baby!” de Bruce Channel. También es el disco de “Just Dropped In” (Mickey Newbury) y de buenos números como “It's A Hang Up Baby” y “He Took It Like A Man“. Cierran con brillantez, y abundantes metales, su LP más negro “I Betcha Gonna Like It” y “Shotgun Man”.
