Despite knowing a lot of information about the various resorts around Walt Disney World and many of the restaurants at these resorts, I’ll admit that until recently I knew very little about Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. The warm California sun welcomed Charles Leclerc and his entourage as they stepped off the plane at Los Angeles International Airport. The city's vibrant energy and palm-lined streets signaled the beginning of a much-needed break for the Formula 1 driver and his companions.

"Ah, Los Angeles! It's good to be here," Charles exclaimed, stretching his arms wide.

Andrea, Charles’ trainer, nodded in agreement. "Sì, Los Angeles è sempre bello. È il momento di divertirsi" ( Los Angeles is always beautifuI) (t's time to have fun)

Joris, Charles's best friend and Yn's boyfriend, grinned. "Time for some fun, my friends!"

As they settled into their luxurious villa, Charles couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. "This is exactly what I needed, guys. A break from the racing world and some time to unwind," he said, a genuine smile on his face.

The group, which included Charles, Andrea, Joris, Charles's girlfriend Alexandra, Riccardo, and his wife Marta, as well as Antoine, Charles's photographer and videographer, headed to their hotel to drop off their bags. Charles couldn't help but glance at Yn, his twin sister, who was engaged in lively conversation with Alex.

"Hey, Yn, ready for some LA adventures?" Charles teased, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

Yn rolled her eyes. "Always ready, Charles. As long as you don't embarrass me too much, big brother"

The group's first activity was a friendly basketball game at a nearby court. Charles, not known for his basketball skills, tried his best to dribble and shoot hoops.

"Mon dieu, Charles, maybe stick to racing, tu es vraiment nul au basket!" Yn teased him, earning a laugh from the others.

Alexandra chuckled, also teasing him, "Yea, mon cher, maybe stick to the racetrack. Your skills on the court are... how do you say... not impressive."

Charles smirked, replying in kind, "Eh bien, at least I'm a world-class driver, not a basketball player. And Yn you think you’re very funny, Yn. Let's see you try" Charles replied, passing the ball to her.

After a few failed attempts, Yn admitted defeat. "Okay, maybe basketball is not my forte either, it's a twins thing"

The group decided to cool off with some ice cream, sharing laughs and stories. Charles couldn't help but admire the way Joris and Yn interacted—the subtle glances, the shared jokes. It was a reminder of the strong bond they all shared.

The following day, the group rented bikes and explored the iconic Venice Beach boardwalk. Charles and Alex shared a tandem e-scooter, while Yn sat on Joris's lap and with Andrea on another.

"Vous avez l'air tellement mignons ensemble!" Alexandra grinned. (You two look so cute together!)

Yn couldn't help but giggle as Joris wrapped his arms around her waist. "Looks like you guys are having fun," Charles shouted from behind them, causing them all to burst out laughing.

Yn blushed, playfully swatting her brother's arm. "Ignorez-lui, il est juste jaloux" Joris calms her before the two siblings start bickering (Ignore him, he’s just jealous)

"Bon, let the race begin!" Charles declared, revving the e-scooter engine.

Andrea struggled to keep up, and Yn couldn't stop giggling at his attempts. The Venice Beach adventure ended with a mini-race, with everyone enjoying the wind in their hair.

Next on the itinerary was a trip from Malibu to Universal Studios. Yn couldn't contain her excitement, especially when they entered The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

"Charles, we need to buy wands!" Yn exclaimed, practically dragging him into Ollivanders.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good," Yn whispered, holding her wand and exploring the magical surroundings and Charles chuckled, indulging his sister's enthusiasm "You really are a fan, aren't you?"

Yn winked. "Always."

"Charles, you have to try the butterbeer! It's amazing!" she exclaimed, dragging him toward the Three Broomsticks.

"Alright, alright, I'll give it a go," Charles chuckled, letting Yn lead the way.

Meanwhile, Joris and Alexandra rushed behind them, especially behind Yn. "I can't believe we're here," Joris whispered

"Me neither, but it's magical and they seem so excited," she replied, high fiving him.

"Look at her, she's like a kid in a candy store," Alexandra remarked, her arm intertwined with Charles'’ when they finally reached the twins in a merchandise shop.

The group also spent another day at Six Flags, where Charles, Alex, and Yn attempted to persuade Andrea and Joris to go on some thrilling rides.

"I prefer the safety of solid ground," Joris insisted, while Andrea nodded in agreement.

Charles, not one to be deterred, grabbed Joris and Andrea by their arms and playfully dragged them towards the rides.

"Come on, guys! Live a little!" Charles exclaimed.

"Non, non, pas question," Andrea protested (No, no, out of the question)

Joris nodded in agreement. "We'll pass, thanks"

"Come on, Andrea, we'll hold your hand the whole time," Yn said with a grin.

Yn, ever the persuader, looked at Joris with puppy-dog eyes, "Allez, mon amour, just one ride!"

"Yeah, come on, guys! It's all in good fun," Alexandra urged, exchanging a glance with Yn.

Joris resisted, but Yn's persistence paid off. Andrea, on the other hand, was tougher to crack. Charles, feigning violence, grabbed Andrea and Joris by the collars, threatening with a smile, "You're coming with us, whether you like it or not!"

Andrea finally relented, and the four of them headed to the ride. As they waited in line, Charles couldn't resist teasing Andrea about his fear.

"Don't worry, Andrea, I'll protect you," he joked, wrapping an arm around his trainer.

Andrea rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the smile on his face.

The group's day ended with a whimsical game at the carnival section of Six Flags. A victorious throw won them two enormous plushie bananas. Gleefully, they engaged in a playful banana battle, filling the air with laughter and the occasional thud of soft impacts.

"Attention! Incoming banana attack!" Charles shouted unexpectedly.

Laughter echoed as bananas flew through the air, hitting targets with precision. Alexandra threatened Charles, "If you hit me one more time, you're sleeping on the couch tonight!"

"Banana warfare!" Charles laughed, dodging plushie projectiles.

And they engaged in a hilarious banana fight, Joris and Andrea being the main targets.

The evening continued with board games and ping pong. Charles and Andrea engaged in fierce ping pong battles, while Yn and Alexandra shared laughter and girly moments.

"Hey, Yn, let's go shopping tomorrow before we leave," Alexandra said, breaking Yn out of her thoughts.

Yn grinned. "I would love that"

The following morning, Alexandra and Yn set out for their much-anticipated shopping trip in the heart of Los Angeles. The city's famed boutiques and exclusive shops awaited their exploration. The sunlit streets beckoned them as they strolled, laughter and excitement filling the air.

Their first stop was a trendy boutique showcasing the latest in Los Angeles fashion. Racks adorned with colorful dresses, stylish accessories, and unique pieces lined the walls. Alexandra and Yn eagerly sifted through the racks, exchanging opinions and approving nods.

"I can't believe how different the styles are here," Yn remarked, holding up a vibrant sundress.

Alexandra nodded in agreement. "It's a whole new world of fashion. I love it!"

After finding some stylish additions to their wardrobes, the duo headed to Shepora, that promised exclusive and makeup brands that are not available in Europe.

Yn's eyes widened as she discovered the vibrant array of products, including makeup from House Glass, and other niche brands that had yet to make their way across the Atlantic.

"Alex, look at this! I've heard so much about this and now we can finally try it" Yn exclaimed, her excitement contagious.

Alexandra, equally thrilled, added a few items to her basket. "And House Glass! I've been dying to get my hands on their products. This is like a beauty paradise."

The duo then ventured into clothing stores that were exclusive to the United States. American Vintage, Brandy Melville, and Forever 21 were on their list, promising a unique shopping experience with styles not commonly found in their European wardrobes.

As they explored the racks of clothes and tried on various outfits, the two friends couldn't contain their joy. Yn found a bohemian-style dress at American Vintage that perfectly suited her taste, while Alexandra discovered a trendy jacket at Brandy Melville that she couldn't resist.

With bags full of fashionable finds and exclusive makeup and after a successful shopping spree, the duo met with the rest of the group for a leisurely lunch. They chose a charming outdoor cafe with a relaxed atmosphere, where the California sun cast a warm glow over the scene.The vibrant energy of Los Angeles seemed to follow them, making the meal even more enjoyable.

Charles, Joris, Andrea, Riccardo, Marta, and Antoine were eager to hear about the shopping escapades of the two ladies.

"So, how was the shopping spree, ladies?" Charles asked with a grin.

Yn laughed, "We may have gone a little overboard, but it's all worth it."

Yn and Alexandra couldn't stop sharing their excitement, showcasing their newfound treasures and makeup finds. The group laughed and exchanged stories, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie.

Charles, Joris, Andrea, and the others eagerly greeted Yn and Alexandra, curious about their shopping spoils. The table quickly became a showcase of vibrant fabrics and makeup palettes.

"Wow, those dresses are stunning!" Joris exclaimed, eyeing the bags.

"And look at these makeup goodies! You two are going to turn heads," Charles added with a grin.

"Looks like the shopping trip was a success," Joris remarked, his eyes twinkling.

As they settled into lunch, the conversation flowed seamlessly between bites of delicious California cuisine. Yn and Alexandra recounted their shopping adventures, sharing anecdotes about the unique styles and products they discovered.

"Next time, we're all going shopping together!" exclaimed Marta, glancing at the fashionable purchases.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the city of angels, the group bid farewell to the vibrant streets of Los Angeles. Early the next morning, they would embark on the next leg of their journey, heading to the Vegas Grand Prix.

The excitement in the air was palpable as they boarded the plane, their hearts still buzzing with the memories of the Californian adventure. Ahead lay the glittering lights of Las Vegas, where the roar of engines would once again take center stage in the world of Formula 1.

thinking about clem x shy gf who’s not into like clubbing and raves and whatnot so when they go to Ibiza, clem goes to all his clubs and his parties and his raves and she goes to the cultural spots, taking in the crafters markets and the beaches and the little bookstores and they get together at breakfast the next mornin and they just tell each other about their days and nights like they did when they were first dating and clem just loves seeing her face light up when she talks about the little bookstores 🥺🥺 these morning debriefs quickly become one of his favourite parts of the trip

clement and his girlfriend have always been a bit of an odd couple when it comes to their interests; his heart danced to the pulsating beats of clubbing and raves, while his girlfriend found her heart longing for the more quiet, cultural experiences. therefore, their trip to ibiza would easily be one filled with contrasts.

on the night of their arrival to the island, clem was itching to dive head first into the vibrant nightlife. his girlfriend smiled as he kissed her cheek goodbye, leaving her cuddled up on the sofa in the cozy villa with a good book as he headed off to the neon-lit streets.

she, on the other hand, set out to explore the ibiza's more serene side. her eyes twinkled at the sight of the artworks and trinkets in the crafters' markets, and she gladly lost herself in the scent of old books and the thousands of stories kept in the little bookstores. the beautiful beaches beckoned to her and as she strolled along the ocean, she stuffed her pockets with little seashells that she would later gift to her lover.

in the mornings, she and clem would reconvene over breakfast on the sun-drenched terrace. clem's eyes sparkled with excitement as he recounted stories of the wild parties he'd attended and the colorful characters he had met. he loved the way she listened with genuine interest and laughed at his antics, despite the fact that clubbing wasn't her scene.

but his heart only truly fluttered when it was her turn to share her stories. he adored the way her face lit up and her eyes danced with enthusiasm as she told him about the hidden bookstores she had discovered, the tales she had been told by locals, and the still moments she had spent on the boardwalks.

their morning debriefs would instantly become one of clem's favorite things about the trip. in the moments when they shared their experiences from their different worlds, he would feel nostalgic, being transported back to the early days of their relationship when every shared story felt like a precious gift. he cherished every moment with her, just like when they first started dating, and his love for her grew stronger with each passing day.

clem soon came to the realization that ibiza isn't just a party destination – it's a place to celebrate their differences and how they complete each other. it's a place to re-discover their love.

Irwin had an absolutely AMAZING time at Disney this weekend! We were on our feet all day, meeting with friends and checking out places like Disney Springs and the Disney Character Warehouse, so it was important we started our day off with some strong coffee and snacks!

Irwin also tried to help me find a nice Mickey shirt, but nothing was very interesting in my size! At least we got him some nice Mickey ears before we made our way to the Disney parks!

But before we went to Hollywood Studios to meet someone VERY special indeed, Irwin asked us if we could check out the Christmas display at one of the Disney hotels, and BoardWalk Villas had some super cute stuff!

And when the time came, Irwin was a bit nervous waiting in line, so ShellieMay came along for moral support! She also wanted to finally collect her very first Disney pin, and we found her a sweet one with Winnie the Pooh! A special Duffy-themed snack also pleased everyone!

And then the big moment arrived! We were all very nervous, but Irwin was the bravest and told Santa Duffy exactly what he wanted for Christmas. It might be to come back, but he wouldn't say later.

Irwin was soooo sleepy by the time we finished everything close to midnight, but he already wants to go back! If you'd like me to take Irwin on more adventures at the Disney Parks, let me know!!

I'll have to share my plush haul from this weekend next, so look for that perhaps tomorrow!

Synopsis:

Y/n and Gojo are called out on a mission where they have to camp out in a beach house and wait for a Sea Serpent Curse. Being in forced proximity like that...secrets are spilled and walls are broken down.

Y/n was tasked to be a helper teacher of sorts in Jujutsu Tech. She didn’t really have a place there, she just floated around. The elder’s reasoning was that she wasn’t a teacher because there were no spots available, but she was too powerful to not be employed at the school. She made best friends with Shoko, was on friendly terms with the students and managed to get on the elder’s good side.

On the third week after her arrival, Gojo and Y/n were called to the Elder’s office room to discuss a mission. They were tasked with exorcising a special grade sea serpent curse off of a beach south of Jujutsu Tech, and to exorcise a group of grade 1 curses on a nearby boardwalk as they were passing through. “What a drag,” Gojo said as he and Y/n left the room. “Grade 1s are boring.”

Y/n assumed Gojo looked at her because he smiled. “At least I can go to the beach with you!”

In those three weeks, Y/n got to know more about Gojo, and she wasn’t…as fond of him as he was of her. She didn’t hate him - there were just qualities in him that she had qualms with. Sometimes, he would purposely leave details out of a situation to tease her. He told her that Panda only ate bamboo, so she gifted him a bamboo tree upon meeting him.

She also wasn’t overly fond of Gojo’s obsession with her. It seemed to multiply and double with each passing day. Gojo would find small habits of Y/n’s and find them cute until every last detail of Y/n made him positively neck deep in affection. The prolonged teasing and flirting were also getting a bit much for Y/n.

Going back to the purposeful lack of detail - Gojo didn’t tell Y/n that he was bringing his first years to the beach trip with them. It was an overnight stay - they were supposed to stay in a beach house so they could monitor the curse and kill it when it popped up. The original beach house would be too cramped with everyone, so Gojo, with his seemingly infinite bank balance, rented out the entire beach as well as a huge villa.

Y/n was pissed at Gojo. A heads-up would’ve been nice. So she ignored him on the train ride there. She turned down his offer to go canoeing (“but Y/n! It’ll be just like The Notebook!”). She avoided him when everyone had a beach day as well. That was the icing on the cake.

“Y/n sensei, why are you ignoring Gojo?” Itadori asked. He was playing beach volley-ball with his classmates and Gojo while Y/n was sitting in the shade reading a book. When the ball bounced over to Y/n, he took the chance to ask her. “He got on my nerves.” Was Y/n’s simple answer. Itadori nodded, deep in thought. “He seems sad.” Itadori observed. “he keeps looking over at you with these gross puppy dog eyes.”

Y/n glanced over at Gojo and shivered. He was glaring dangerously at Itadori and made a slicing motion with his thumb to his neck. Itadori gulped. “I-Imma go now.”

Part of the job was that the curse could spring up any time, so while the students were sleeping Gojo and Y/n were awake on the veranda facing the beach, ready to spring up and fight. Gojo was seriously miserable. He missed Y/n, and she was right there! He missed the way her mouth would twitch upward unwillingly whenever he cracked a joke. He missed the way she blushed whenever he flirted with her. He missed staring into her deep red eyes and her staring back. He missed the sound of her voice.

He scooted over closer to Y/n. “Why are you ignoring me? Is it because I didn’t tell you about my students tagging along?” Y/n could sense a shift in the air. Gojo was being serious. “Please. Talk to me. Even if you’re going to yell. I want to hear your voice.”

Y/n picked nervously on her shirt. “It was that but…your flirting. Its very…excessive.” Gojo smiled, relieved that Y/n was speaking to him and cupped her face in his hands so that she would look at him. “What? You don’t like it?” He asked. His blindfold was off, and it felt like he was searching the inner depths of Y/n’s soul. Y/n was freaking out.

“No. Just-turn it down, ok? We have to be friends first.” Gojo’s face was unreadable. “Is that the way they do it in America?” He asked. Y/n laughed out loud. “God no. But it’s the way things should be.”

He nodded, with a small pout on his lips. “You know I really like you, right?” He let go of Y/n’s face. She nodded slowly. “I’m sorry but-“ He put a finger in a shushing gesture on Y/n’s mouth. His finger was soft, and it shook a little when they made contact. “Shh.”

“knowing that you know how i feel is all i need to know.” A devilish smile spread across his face. “I’ll just keep going until you can say that you like me too.” Begrudgingly, he took his finger off Y/n’s mouth and stretched lazily. “i guess until then I have to put a lid on it then.”

Y/n’s mouth went dry. For some reason, she wasn’t a fan of that idea. She didn’t like it when Gojo was all over her, but…she wouldn’t like it if he wasn’t.

Make up your mind, woman, she thought. She shook her head aggressively, as if dispelling that thought. “Do you want to sit out on the sand and look into the waves? Just as friends?” She asked quietly. A glint returned to Gojo’s eyes. Progress, he thought.

They sat calmly next to each other, and watched as the waves crashed over and receded back. Gojo idly brought his phone out and started playing a song. “Matched the vibe.” He explained.

As the beginning strings filled the beach air around them Y/n shivered. She didn’t think it was going to be that cold at night and she couldn’t afford to go back to the house to grab a coat in case the curse appeared. Gojo, sensing that Y/n was cold, scooted closer to her and put his arm around her shoulders. Y/n stiffened and Gojo rolled his eyes. “As friends. You’re cold.” He said. Y/n nodded. She snuggled into him more, trying to get warm. Secretly, she also enjoyed the closeness. “As friends.” She mumbled into his chest.

He smiled, high on the contact. He also smiled at how undeniable everything was: he was in love with Y/n. Even if she pushed him away he’ll only love her more and more, probably until the sun stops burning and the universe implodes.

He paused his train of thought when he noticed that Y/n was taking heavier breaths. Looking down affectionately he realised that Y/n was sleeping. He pressed a light kiss on her forehead and felt a pang of longing for the day he could kiss her with her kissing back.

Since when did i become such a hopeless romantic? he thought.

y/n was still under the veil of sleep. Y/n’s powers enabled her to be able to read people’s minds, and she accidently turned her powers on. What she was met with was a torrent of love and longing. Pure, unconditional love. She saw Gojo taking hundreds of pictures of her and creating an album on his phone of her. She saw him looking at those photos in his free time and smiling. She saw him day dreaming about her and she actually walked into a daydream Gojo was thinking about in that moment.

Everything was light and rosy. Soft music was playing in the background. Y/n couldn’t believe that she was in Gojo’s mind. She tried to get out, but she somehow was stuck inside. Classic Gojo.

The light dimmed down and she was able to see.

This is a daydream he revisits the most, Y/n thought to herself.

A wedding aisle. She saw herself, dressed in a gorgeous Vera Wang wedding dress. She saw Gojo, dressed and smart. He was smiling happily. She saw the flower arrangements and realised with a start:

My favourite flowers.

As she looked around, she realised that everything was meticulously planned and gone over. Usually, daydreams were a little fuzzy, but everything had vivid detail. The guests. The location. The music.

Y/n was the most detailed. Even Gojo looked less detailed than her.

Her wedding dress gleamed with dozens of gems, small and intricate. Her veil was weaved with tiny lace designs in roses. Her makeup was classy and her eyes gleamed. She looked so pretty.

Gojo daydreamed about their wedding day, she realised with a start. And he daydreamed about her the most.

Y/n and Gojo kissed. Y/n suddenly felt a burst of warmth.

This must be what Gojo feels like right now, she thought.

Afterwards, Gojo replayed the kissing scene. Again and again, this time with a large drop of longing and pain.

She woke up with a start. Space song finished and now ‘Say Yes to Heaven’ by Lana del Rey was on. (recommended that you play it)

Gojo was hugging Y/n and rubbing the small of her back while she slept.

What Gojo feels about me is real, Y/n thought.

Gojo saw that Y/n was awake and stopped rubbing her back. “As friends” he teased. “Don’t go off on me.”

“I won’t.” Y/n said in a small voice. Gojo smiled softly.

Y/n cupped Gojo’s face with her hands. He looked surprised, then he blushed and looked down. “I thought you said we were friends.” He muttered.

“I saw your daydream Gojo. I somehow read your mind while I was asleep.” He looked abruptly up at her then down again, blushing harder than he had ever done in his life.

“That’s an invasion of privacy.” He sulked.

Y/n didn’t know what to say. She didn’t have the words.

“I kind of…liked it.” The words slipped out of her mouth before she could control herself.

He didn’t realise that Gojo was endgame about her. She thought that all of that flirting was all for pretend, and that’s why she got sick of it. But that daydream…it felt right.

Gojo looked at her with a sparkle in his eyes. Then, he leaned in and kissed her.

At first, he was gentle and reverent. He thought about this moment for so long, he wanted to enjoy it. But his self control ran out and he kissed her with a passion, a hunger that he desperately needed to be quenched.

Y/n kissed back.

Gojo wondered if heaven was a woman.

As you lovelies might have seen on other posts, depending on how the shuffled queue puts these out, I spread the Disney love from the Disney day of the event around to all my various fandoms! For The Outsiders, I loved thinking about and then writing about what Disney World hotels each Greaser would love the most, if they ever became rich enough to go to modern day Disney World! I hope you wonderful people enjoy!

I really do strongly headcanon Darry as being someone who is into architecture. He might not know all the technical terms and all the different styles and such, but he appreciates them all and does want to learn more about architecture. He went to work helping build houses, so houses and architecture and buildings became an interest of his that spun into a passion. Because of his love for architecture, his favourite Disney hotel is one that has some unique architectural features. He really loves the Animal Kingdom Villas, even if he can’t afford to stay in them. He’s especially a fan of Kidani Village.

Sodapop just can’t relax and feel right if the hotel’s too fancy-smancy, unlike his brothers. He prefers simple and comfortable and a less fancy atmosphere suits him best. Not only are the cabins at Fort Wilderness simple and rustic, but the resort also allows him to go trail riding and to really be around and interact with horses in a very rustic, nature-filled setting. It’s not something he really gets much of but it’s something he truly loves, so that has to be his favourite by far.

Ponyboy actually does have a taste for the elegant and fancy of bygone ages. There’s just something that really hits him, emotionally and mentally, about that architectural style and those kinds of surroundings. Because of that, he definitely would prefer a statelier hotel. I think the Grand Floridian really attracts Ponyboy’s attention and he would be really pulled to everything about that hotel. The others might tease him about it, but everything about it just hits him perfectly.

Steve cares more about a hotel’s amenities than what the hotel itself looks like. He isn’t going to be someone who spends a lot of time just lazing around in the room and only cares about whether he’ll have fun and interesting things to do. Because he is someone who really loves sports and being physical, it’s no surprise that his favourite Disney World hotel ended up being the All-Star Sports Resort. He really likes the arcade at that one, but also the theming and the jogging trails there. He and the boys also definitely goof around at the playground and get told off by at least a handful of parents.

Dally honestly doesn’t give too much of a shit about the hotel he stays at. He really doesn’t. He’ll be fine in any of them, especially since he’s mostly using them as a place to lay his head and has plans on stealing everything he can from them anyway. What matters the most to Dally is the parks since that’s what he’s there for. His favourite land in Disney World is Hollywood Studios so he does prefer the hotels that are within walking distance of that land. Out of those, I think he has a mild preference for the Boardwalk Inn, mostly for its pool. He really enjoys that waterslide and definitely races with the other boys to see who has the fastest time going down it.

Johnny is a lot like Soda in that he can’t really get comfortable in a lot of the hotels. They’re just a little too fancy for him and he’d enjoy roughing it just a bit more. He’s also like Soda in that he loves Fort Wilderness, but Johnny, who is used to sleeping on the ground, actually prefers the campsites at Fort Wilderness. He finds camping fun and it’s made all the better by the lush forest and all the interesting things that the resort has going on. He’d also be a big fan of the recreation options at the resort as well, especially the trails, the nightly bonfires, and he’d actually turn out to enjoy and be fairly good at archery.

Two-Bit really enjoys the novelty and fun of the really heavily themed resorts. He doesn’t want fancy luxury but instead would opt for smaller rooms but more fun surroundings. Because of this, he’s really fond of Disney’s ‘All-Star’ resorts. However, his absolute favourite has to be the Pop Century Resort, for it’s bright colours and whimsical theming. Plus, it has the Skyliner, which Two-Bit really does enjoy just a tad too much as he rides it every day they’re there.

Masseria’s seemingly supernatural bullet dodging powers had given the hard noised, but superstitious, Valenti second thoughts. Second thoughts that had him suing for peace and walking into an ambush in one of New York’s most storied Italian restaurants, John’s of 12th Street, on August 11, 1922, a restaurant that has been used as a set on Boardwalk Empire and the Sopranos.

Now the Karma....

He was also killed inside a restaurant, by his own men.

Masseria was himself shot down by his own men while sitting in a Coney Island restaurant called Scarpato's Nuova Villa Tammaro. The assassins were Vito Genovese, Albert Anastasia, Joe Adonis, and Bugsy Siegel, led by Lucky Luciano.

According to The New York Times, "[A]fter that, the police have been unable to learn definitely [what happened]". Reputedly Masseria was "seated at a table playing cards with two or three unknown men" when he was fired upon from behind. He died from gunshot wounds to his head, back, and chest. Masseria's autopsy report shows that he died on an empty stomach. No witnesses came forward, though "two or three" men were observed leaving the restaurant and getting into a stolen car. No one was convicted in Masseria's murder as there were no witnesses and Luciano had an alibi.

Let's Stroll Along the Boardwalk of Disney's Boardwalk Resort! Part 1

Come along as we take a little stroll along the Boardwalk of Disney's Boardwalk Resort. This is a 2-part series, so enjoy the first half!

Originally I was going to break this into two articles: the left side and the right side. But then to what perspective would be the left side? Looking at it from across Crescent Lake? Looking at it from the Boardwalk lobby? So I consulted Google Maps. Perhaps I should do West side/East side? Better yet, I’ll flip a coin to determine which side to start on, and then we’ll get strolling along…

May 28 - Day 1 - Backroads - Vitorino De Piaes - Torre de Gomariz Hotel -

We met our Backroads leaders and other guests (20 total) and boarded a bus for the drive to the countryside of Vitorino dos Piaes for the beginning of our 9 mile walk along the Camino de Santiago. The Camino is a well known pilgrimage route through either France, Spain or Portugal. The day was perfect for walking and the terrain was mostly level on hard surfaces. At mid-day we stopped for a picnic lunch at a private villa that was built in the middle of the 18th Century and overlooking the valley below. The villa has been in the family since it was built and now has many modern amenities along with the charm of the past. After lunch we continued our walk along narrow streets lined with a variety of homes, stone walls built without mortar, grape vine trellises, a variety of vegetable gardens along with an occasional sheep. Due to the rain in Northern Portugal the area sustains an agricultural abundance.

We ended the day at Torre de Gomariz, a hotel that has a modern elegance along with historical references. Part of the building dates from the 15th Century, however, the rooms and amenities are very 21st Century. The hotel has 24 rooms all facing the surrounding fountains, grape vines, fruit trees and tall pines. Our first dinner and reception was at the hotel and it was nice way to end the first day of walking.

May 29 - Day 2 - Backroads - Camino Portugues - Torre de Gomariz Hotel -

This day we walked a stage of the Camino Portugues through the town of Ponte de Lima and across its eponymous bridge that was first built in 1125 and strengthened in the 15th Century. We walked past vineyards, through tree-lined paths with views of streams. The weather was perfect and the lunch spot was a welcome sight with its seating overlooking a large stream all shaded with many plants. After a delightful lunch we walked the final segment with a stop and beverage after our 7.5 mile day. We returned to our hotel retreat for a rest before our evening feast of selected salads, a variety of meat and fish along with a medley of vegetable choices. The evening was highlighted with a fado a music ensemble. Fado music is Portuguese folk music that developed in the early 19th Century.

May 30 - Day 3 - Backroads - Minho Estuary - Parador de Baiona, Spain -

We began the day with a drive over the Minho River and into Spain to begin our climb of the Monte Santa Tecla. The climb is steep with a stunning view of the river and towns in the distance. After a brief rest we headed down the mountain to the beach for our continued walk on a boardwalk close to the jagged shore. We ended our walk for lunch in the town of Guarda overlooking the bay. We enjoyed a late lunch of salads, roasted vegetables and a variety of shell fish. After lunch we took the van to the town of Baiona and our our next hotel, the Paradores, a medieval looking resort that was built in the middle of the 20th Century. The hotel is surrounded by high fortress walls where the town was first located. The high stone walls, towers and other features were constructed in the 15th and 16th Centuries. The views from the walls were spectacular overlooking the small bay and the many islands in the distance. We ended 7.6 mile day with a well deserved gelato.
