I haven't seen anyone say this but what if Blur is Jensis older brother Fernan Babblos.

Fernan is first mentioned on book 5 when Jensi said it hurt when his brother manifested because his leg fell through the floor. So we know he's a Phaser and that he probably looks similar to Jensi (bc genetics yk).

Sophie goes to Ravagog with Keefe, Lady Cadence, and Blur in Nightfall. When they're riding Riverdrift and water is spraying them, Sophie thinks that Blur looks familiar. I'm pretty sure he's described as having brown hair and a soft/round face, which is how Jensi is described.

Given Shannon's like for making people in the Black Swan be people that Sophie knows or has heard of, I think it's very probable that Fernan will be Blur.

i thought it would be a neat idea for this set of prompts because 1. obviously this was a huge change in the elvin world (as well as the human world), and 2. even though pyrokinesis has been banned for a while now the city still uses fintan’s balefire as its main light source (the ‘constant’)

(also bronte is there. because i couldn’t resist making it slightly gay. he’s doing his emo longing or whatever)

i hope in book 10 shannon introduces a guy named warith who is conveniently a vanisher and constantly has to leave for increasingly strange reasons. seems like the easiest way to resolve that particular mystery

blur’s secret identity is jensi’s older brother

so here’s my reasoning:

blur and jensi’s older brother are both phasers.

we dont know much about jensi’s older brother’s age, only that he wasn’t at foxfire when sophie got there (he has a talent, so he probably went to the elite levels) making him at least eighteen at the start of the book, and that jensi was old enough to remember him manifesting for the first time. since elves can kinda remember since birth (this is an assumption, but c’mon, this is elves we’re talking about) that makes him at most twenty four at the start of the book. his youngness id honestly the biggest case i have against this theory

and here’s for the big piece of evidence (in book): that time that sophie went on a boat ride with him. she said she definitely didn’t know who he was, but he looked familiar, which would make sense if he has similar but not exact bone & facial whatever structure to jensi

plot wise, the evidence i have is it’s probably not going to be someone we’ve never heard of, because that would be boring and pointless, and the only other phaser we know of (not counting unlocked & please correct me if i’m wrong) is councillor alina, and alina has been way too mean to sophie to be a member of the black swan (she’s also a woman, but i would totally be down if one of the collective’s secret identities was another gender, even though its unlikely)

so yeah thats my theory let me know if you have any evidence for or against
