So I’m playing in a mini D&D campaign as a bootleg Goro Akechi (Persona 5), and one of my party members is playing as the 4th Doctor from Doctor Who, which has led to quite possibly the FUNNIEST friendships to have ever come out of any D&D games I’ve played in @blueoatmeal​

A lot has happened lately to put it lightly! Scribbles, T.O.C., Nebula and the Professor have had their own troubles and its hard to keep everyone on the same page. Especially since this family has gotten so much bigger than any one of them can manage. So it's probably best to start having meetings to keep everyone up to date, and even maybe forming their own little network.

Character has amnesia. Thankfully they have a friend who can fill them in on stuff they forgot about themselves. But while their friend is genuine and means well, everything they know is from lies that the character told them. Lies which, of course, the character has no reason to disbelieve

what were the underfrogs like as tadpoles? like not even froglets yet, just lil' baby polliwogs?

Ooooo I haven’t thought much of the tadpoles of the Mod Frogs.

I imagine since they’re all confined to the pond they don’t interact with the frogs all that much. They really got to defend themselves against the elements and occasional predator and if they get hurt, tough shit. There are thousands of eggs laid in a season, no frog could afford the time to make sure each and every one makes it.

For the most part they kinda behave like their nonmute counterpart. Focus on eating, not dying, and sleeping. There’s not a whole lot of socialization besides “get out the way” “don’t eat me” and “oooo look pretty shiny object”

Their job during that stage of life is to simply survive. The most Mod Frogs will do for them is defend them if a major threat is coming to the pond. Like a mega mute or a coordinated attack on them. Otherwise, frogs drop by to just see how the numbers are doing and if any have gotten their legs yet. Maybe kick a beached tadpole in it they’re feeling generous. Once they get their legs they are slowly educated and introduced into the Mod Frogs proper.

As for our underfrogs in particular, they survived because they had good instincts and were sharp. Harris especially was quick to nope out of any situation where he could’ve been eaten. Jamack was a hider and was almost always hiding in the cattails or under lily pads, hardly ever to be seen. and Kwat would just straight up eat anything trying attack. She did not fuck around even as a wee bab.

I just looked it up and it seems that most tadpoles look pretty similar to each other but bullfrog tadpoles are huge which makes their coloring differences a helluva lot more noticeable. So Kwat was actually singled out first as probably not the same species as everyone else when she was young, it took until Harris got to land and really develop his eyes and body for the frogs to realize he’s definitely not one of theirs.

I loved designing Ellie she was a delightful challenge i tell you what. idk if anyone would have interest in seeing the design concepts i drew up (she is the first pokesona i've had to draw one up for and oof it was a process!)
