Okay so I wanted to draw more of The Dark Piper/ The Viceroy from The Fabled Legend: The Dark Piper. This are some of my sketches on him.

While redrawing The Dark Piper, I also wanted to draw my version of the Fabled Inspector from the same game. I chose male because when I heard the character being called “inspector” in the game I thought the character being played is male. Of course the detective in the game can be anything what the player prefers to be, I’m just drawing my own thoughts and version on this character. 😅

Just wondering, how would you rank the Dark Parables games from least favorite to most favorite?

Ooooo okay so these are going to be ranked by story, mechanics, designs and just how much I love them!

Least Favorite- Most Favorite

15. The Little Mermaid and the Purple Tide: I feel like this is not a surprise given my rants. Bad story. Bad mechanics.

14. The Thief and the Tinderbox: Again I feel like this isn't a surprise. Bad story. Bad continuity. Bad designs.... but! The mechanics were not bad.

13. Queen of Sands: it felt off in a way. Like it didn't belong in the series. Mechanics okay. Designs/art decent. Bad story.

12. Return of the Salt Princess: nothing wrong with the mechanics or designs or anything. I liked the story somewhat, it just overall isn't a favorite.

11. Portrait of the Stained Princess: it was alright, I liked the art and such. I just felt like it could have been more. Story wise, I mean. I don't know. It didn't engage me as much as others.

10. The Swan Princess and the Dire Tree: it's sad because I'm a sucker for swan princess things whether it be the Swan Lake ballet, the barbie movie or the Don bluth ones (only the first and second ones though) and I was excited for this game but it ultimately hadn't been something I expected but I did enjoy it a bit. Though again, continuity threw me off since there was barely any.

9. The Red Riding Hood Sisters: I do like this one, but not as much as others. I liked the concept, the designs, the mechanics, and the story somewhat. I just wish I could have been more engaged in it.

8. Exiled Prince: Look, I like it a lot, it is arguably one of the most iconic games in the series but the mechanics are what put it here. It had a wonderful story and everything it was just those mechanics that hung me up.

7. Curse of Briar Rose: another one I really love, but those mechanics just hurt. If they remade it it would definitely ranked higher.

6. The Match Girl's Lost Paradise: such a fun story!! It was so interesting and I really liked it and was very engaged!

5. Goldilocks and the Fallen Star: fun game! Engaging! Also, bonus for Jack, just not a top five fav.

4. Rise of the Snow Queen: Snow White is one of my favorite fairy tales, and the fact they merged it with the Snow Queen story had me elated! I loved it! I was so engaged!

3. Jack and the Sky Kingdom: Has some of my favorite characters of the series! Had an engaging storyline! The mechanics were great! And the puzzles were fun.

2. Ballad of Rapunzel: SO fun! So interesting! So much lore given, and I love lore! It was unique with its endings. Overall a very great game!

1. The Final Cinderella: I am biased. Very biased. Cinderella is my favorite fairy tale. I have so many different versions of it. I have watched everything Cinderella or so I'm convinced. The story was so fun and engaging and the art! Oh man the art! And I cared for all the characters!

I'm a bit sad. I have been a long time fan of the Dark Parables games that were developed by Blue Tea Games and Eipix Entertainment and released by Big Fish Games and I just found out that there probably won't be any more. The reason for this is that Blue Tea Games has been inactive since sometime in 2019, which was the year of the release of the 16th, and probably final, game in the series; Dark Parables: Portrait of the Stained Princess. So I checked Eipix Entertainment, ya know, just in case, and it turns out Eipix Entertainment was acquired by Playrix Entertainment that same year and has not released any new games on its own since so now I'm sad. On the bright side, I do have all 16 games and can play them anytime I want but I'm still sad that there probably won't be any new ones because they're so good!!!

Definitely the Red Riding Hood Sisters for the favorite!

Truth be told though, I haven’t actually played any of the other games in the series, so i don’t have a least favorite - but it’s on my to-do-list I swear!

Dark Parables: The Rise of the Snow Queen

Few people have not heard of the DP series of games. The third part of the series is a game based on the Snow Queen. In the story, we must find all the missing children and deal with the Snow Queen herself.

The game is saturated with a wintry, cold atmosphere, which is saturated with even more pleasant-to-hear soundtracks. Going through this part in winter is one of the best time to spend. because you will enjoy this gloomy but charming atmosphere to the maximum💙

So learning to draw digitally is coming along well, went from training with moderate tracing (first image) to being able to draw characters naturally without reference (second image).

So uh yeah, might be revamping the DP comic soon if this keeps improving at the rate I'm seeing👀👀👀

But for now, enjoy what I've been playing around with so far!

SO!!! I passed the second game in the "Dark Parables" series, it's called "The Exiled Prince"

And, about the expert mode: it's not worth it. I'll explain why, but first let's go over the pros and cons:

Plusside: I've already said that the plots of the line are just fucking great, and in this part the developers have bored so that our KERMIT (actually it's a bum from rublevka, you should have seen how overgrown he is, and he lives in a ruined hovel, atas ig) IS DAMNED TWO TIMES. That is, it would seem, everything was okay, there is a princess, there is a frog, there is a smack and a happy ending? NO! No happy ending, the prince goes through a frog-transformation-death-of-lover cycle. How the fuck he didn't go so fucking crazy, and he turns out of desperation. And then BAM! all of a sudden he is cursed again, but now he has suffered the fate of King Midas: turning all living/dead things into frogs (pity it's not gold). Interesting stuff! Very fresh; saving works; YOU HAVE A MAP OF THE AREA AT YOUR FINGERTIPS THAT TELLS YOU WHERE TO GO, so you get less braindeadness and it's very cool; the puzzles are also good, really cool, there are some that break your brain, but that's okay; there are a lot of items to find, but the main cimis of collecting is vessels with frogs, flowers, crowns and… something else, I forget what

Downside: EXPERT MODE. Why? Because the whole point of it is that as soon as you get the key to the bonus room you get to an empty but cool place, you find another key there, you think it opens, and what's your surprise when this key leads not to an additional quest, but TO A ROOM WITH CONCEPT-ARTS! Like, expert mode for the sake of a room with pictures, are you serious??? No, on the one hand it's a cool feature, but, THIS IS KILLING. For starters, the entire game is downloaded along with all the game file folders, which contains EVERYTHING, INCLUDING BACKGROUNDS AND CONCEPT-ARTS. You can just go into the game folder at any time and browse through all the content folders. So guys Expert mode for the sake of concept-arts is not worth the candle :^)

If you noticed: DP games under Blue Tea Games have stories that are interconnected and are written very well, and a majority of the characters are friendly to the Detective. But the DP Games under Eipix, the stories don't connect well or are poorly written, and a majority of characters are hostile to the Detective and refuse to tell the Detective what's going on. Huh...

Yeah! Exactly, and that's probably why I disliked so many of the newer games. They had no heart anymore. Blue Tea Games put so much love and heart into their games, and when they couldn't continue, it was very obvious. I just feel bad for them not being able to continue because I guarantee you, the way the series went, they did not want it to go.
