Meet Pidge! Pidge is a xero inspired by thylacines and blue tailed skinks. Pidge is a devious little gremlin that uses their very small stature for mischief (2'9"). Their large ears are great for eavesdropping and they use their sticky pawpads to cling onto walls and sneak around. They love hosting parties and baking.

Christmas Island Blue-tailed skink (Cryptoblepharus egeriae), ink and oil pastel on coloured cardstock.

These skinks were endemic to Christmas Island, Australia, but are now extinct in the wild due to introduced predators. They are gorgeous little creatures, and from what I understand there exists breeding programs to attempt to reestablish their wild populations.

I'll admit I didn't know of their conservation status when I was drawing this one, I just thought they were a good multi-coloured subject to draw on this nice teal paper.

I have another skink coming your way tomorrow, they're very fun to draw all contorted and slithery :D
