Hey, Marta! I noticed that your interest in manga and anime has grown since you discovered Demon Slayer. I even saw you sharing two manga titles that you own. Mind if I ask what other manga series you have, and could you recommend some titles for me (and perhaps others)?

Thank you for sharing such an interesting question! I have a deep fondness for several mangas. I wanted to share three manga titles with you that have deeply resonated with me.

Among the mangas I like, one that stands out is "Therapy Game" (yaoi). Unfortunately, it's not visible in the picture as the Polish printed version has not been released yet, and I'm eagerly awaiting my copy 🥺 The captivating art and the heartfelt story of boys falling in love have truly captured my heart, it's wholesome!

"Blue Phobia", another manga that truly captivated my heart, holds a special place for me as a doctor. The impeccable plot introduced a new disease that transformed human bones into a mineral with potential energy applications, resembling a power plant. The stunning artwork accompanied a captivating storyline that left me gasping and shedding tears by the story's end. Witnessing the sweet interactions between Kai and Meer added an extra layer of sweetness to the manga's charm ❤️

I have also developed a deep affection for "My Dearest Self With Malice Aforethought", a captivating crime/thriller manga. The story revolves around a young man grappling with a split personality. He is left unaware of the actions taken by the alternate personality that assumes control of his body. The manga enthralls readers as they join Eiji on his journey to uncover the truth, particularly after he becomes implicated in a prostitute's murder and becomes entangled with a dangerous gang. The intricate plot and Eiji's quest for answers make for an engrossing and thought-provoking read!

1) I've made this known before but I'll put it in a post, I'm 6'2!

2) I have 3 really big phobias; trypophobia, thalassophobia (specifically the deep ocean, trenches, stuff like that), and idk if theres a term for it but it's literally just anything with more than 4 legs; the idea of seeing something move with more than 4 legs breaks me.

5) My favorite genre of games is RPGs, all kinds of RPGS; JRPGs, CRPGs, Tactics RPGs, Open-World RPGs, I'm just addicted. My current favorite game is actually a 2-way tie between Dragon Quest V and Pokemon Black 2!

6) I really like anime and manga, my favorite genre is slice of life and romcoms! My current favorite anime is called "Say, 'I Love You'" and my favorite manga is Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles.

7) I think I have a sleep problem? Regardless of when I try to sleep, I physically cannot sleep for longer than 5hrs.

Horror of Witches

So one of Soul Eater's more halfbaked concept is the conflict between Death and Witches, and what it actually means.

Sure, we have Witch antagonists, but we're never really given a full look into the history of this conflict. We are instead just shown normal people's hatred and distrust, and while the manga acknowledges that this kind of phobia is wrong, it at the same time its kinda afraid to really explore the other side of the coin. To show us WHY people in universe have VERY good reasons to be utterly terrified of witches.

However, there is one moment that nails this idea. Where it uses Soul Eater's delving into horror tones, to tell the story of a single witch destroying an entire family. Namely Medusa's possession of Rachel.

In the Manga, this is a very creepy moment, but it's not anythign special.

The anime though, took this very basic possession scene, and made it a showcase of exactly why witches are FEARED in this universe.

It begins the same in both versions, with young rachel running off from her mother to chase a dog(currently possessed by Medusa) because she, a young child wants to pet the doggo.

And as any good old european fairy tale, the young child is punished for doing what she is not supposed to, by supernatural means, namely Medusa body hopping from the dog to her.

Her Mom then takes her home, oblivious that something horrible has happened.

What i love about the way the anime does this, as opposed to the manga, is that this isnt as simple as Medusa just erasing Rachel's will and taking over. That's what happens in the Manga, but here there is something much, much more disturbing going on.

Namely a battle of the mind, not too disimilar to the fight Tsubaki had with her brother.

Medusa's fight with Rachel is showcased on the Tv, where instead of the tv program Rachel's mom thinks her daughter is watching, Rachel's eyes are instead glued to something else, which we the audience gets to see.

We get to see Rachel's mind scape shown on the tv, as the same scene plays over again, and again, with the same words repeated ad nausea.

An apple, an apple, an apple, an apple, an apple-

I love how if you have payed attention to how this world works, you will pick up on the fact that this creepy scene isnt just some random TV scene that RAchel happened to watch, as it first appears.

No this is something deeply personal to her. Her soul. Just as Tsubaki's soulscape is a blue sky and the surface of an ocean, this orchard of apples is Rachel's.

It's just her, and the apples, her soul represented by the golden ribbon, and the red by what she wants, the things that make her happy, her mom, her dad, her love for her mom's cocking, her dog.

then it flashes to something else. suddenly the random girl is gone, replaced fully with Rachel herself, and in the tree, a snake. A black Snake with Golden arrow markings.

the scene repeats itself as the girl climbs up the tree, until suddenly, the snake sliters over, and into the girls face, dissapearing from sight as it enters into Rachel.

The symbolism here is very clear too. Medusa is the snake in Rachel's garden of Eden, but what is most important here, is that it's not the apple that is portrayed as the bad thing here, no that is Medusa. The orchard and the little girl was doing just fine, until Medusa FORCED herself into it withouth the girl being able to do anything about it.

Even if the watcher has completely forgotten about the fight between the two siblings from so long ago, it's still a very disturbing scene, but what i find the most interesting is how this section of the fight between Rachel and Medusa ends.

Because rather than coming to a decisive conclusion, it's instead interrupted by Rachel's mom telling her daughter to turn off the TV, which is so strong in Rachel's mind, that it forces Medusa to instead fall back to telling rachel to be a good girl, and listen to her mother, because Medusa isnt strong enough to just break Rachel's will.

She needs time, and in the end, it's rachel's mom who buys her that time.

Then, after the sun has gone down, and the parents have gone to sleep, Rachel and Medusa are still battling it out in Rachel's mind, the worries that something seems... Off about Rachel today being the last words before they fall asleep.

But of course, Medusa IS surely going to win this contest. There was no questions about that. Her, and ancient and powerful witch, against a what, 6-8 year old girl? With no particular training to thriumph in such a contest to begin with.

There was no way this was going to end with Rachel expelling Medusa with her own strenght of will.

And so, after having achieved what she determines is a sufficient level of control, Medusa goes to the parents bedroom, very, very clearly planning to murder both of them...

Only for Rachel, upon seeing her parents, to completely regain control, and throw herself on her parents bed crying, about a scary snake that was gobbling her up whole

This is a surprising moment, but also very much in line with Soul Eater's themes.

Alone, Rachel stood no chance... But with her parents at her side, even she was able to draw out the strength to keep Medusa at bay.

Against all odds, Rachel managed to stave off Medusa, winning back complete control over her body, and she is rewarded for that by her parents tucking her in at night, thinking she had a bad dream, and in response giving her their unconditional love.

So long as she has that, she will win.

So having suffered a surprising defeat, Medusa pulls back and looks for another strategy... and she finds it during breakfast next morning.

She confronts Rachel with the reality that her mom's coocking, which the little girl adores because she loves her mom, is simple and bland.

It's really not much, but it immediatly sows seeds of doubt in Rachel's young heart, allowing Medusa to once more gain control, if not fully.

However, she then finds herself being forced to put her current battle with Rachel on hold, as she realises her big sis Arachne is spying on her through a spider in the kitchen, which she kills by grabbing it, and then squishing it in a fist...

An action which completely freaks out Rachel's mom.

Medusa then decides to leave, not because she wants to, or feels ready, but because of necessity. she has to leave before her sister makes another move while she is still weak.

It's a very precarious position, as as it is, Rachel could break her control at any moment, which for obvious reasons makes it precarious to use this body for combat.

However, Rachel's mom then grabs her before she can leave, and terrified of her daughter's actions and weird, weird behavior asks her a logical question... That in Rachel's young mind, currently balancing on a knife's edge no doubt sounds like her mom is questioning her love for her, the same love she used to take back control the previous night.

And just like that, Medusa wins.

With that decisive moment of doubt in Rachel's heart, She takes full control over Rachel's body, and using her own voice now coming out of Rachel's mouth, mocks her mom by telling her that her little girl was easy to manipulate as she, something unnatural has come into her home, and taken her baby from her.

She has broken this woman's entire life, and is so happy about it. This is what "The pull of Magic", Every Witch's natural inclination for causing destruction actually looks like to most people in this universe.

It's a great scene, showcasing How even at her weakest, Medusa is still a great villain, but this moment also illustrates so, SO well why the average population of Soul Eater FEARS Witches.

Withes are capable of terrifying magic in this universe... But this isnt that.

This is a witch, using low level magic, at her weakest, DESTROYING a family, out of nowhere with no problems. This could happen Anywhere in the world, at any time, but the fact that this is happening here, in Death City, in the heart of the world order that exists speciffically to kill witches so this very thing doesnt happen, and Death was unable to do anything about it, really showcases the kind of horror witches are actually capable of inflicting upon the world.

You are not safe. anywhere. your protectors cannot sense us. we can infiltrate anywhere as we please, and you cannot do anything to stop it.

I really wish we got more of it, becuase this scene fleshes out just how terrifying Witches actually are.

ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1128 SPOILERS

I was going to say that I don't know why I particularly feel like talking about this chapter because it's pretty normal, but I DO know and it's because it's centered around my East Blue five, huge day for og fans. I'm sure the dynamic of this particular group is enjoyed by many people regardless of when they started reading the story, but the nostalgia hit for those of us who have been here for, dare I say, decades is immense.

And this time I want to start with the color spread, bitch I LOVE THEM THIS IS SUCH A TREAT FOR ME. Nami and Franky have had some lovely moments in recent years in the manga and to me he's her real big brother (and not Zoro, as The Most Annoying People in the World often come to my channel to say).

Before I go on, I want to say that I'm not going to go pointing them out because other people analyze these things better than me but, despite the fact that it looks like they are indeed all together and that the boys are not Nami's hallucination, something still seems off to me. There's some dialogue and attitudes that seem odd to me and I'm very interested to know what's really going on.

Now, this reminded me so much of when they first arrived at Whiskey Peak because back then Luffy, Usopp and Sanji were inmediately drawn by the ambience of the island and only Zoro and Nami remained impassive. Sanji here is not drawn by the island, but by Nami, but my point still stands because it's just the energy the panel gives.

This whole chapter is a nostalgic trip for me because this next panel reminded me of that scene in Jaya where the group goes in search of a southbird and Nami and Sanji almost have a heart attack in that forest because they both have a terrible phobia of bugs. Usopp looked great that night.

AND THIS JSJSJSJSJS Zoro, Nami and Sanji with the same expression, I love them so much.

It's difficult to have one favorite panel in this chapter but these two are up there. Sanji is so fucking right and I love the detail of Nami running after them right after charming that man so that he does not suspect that they have done something bad already and that Luffy is probably about to do something worse.

Nami looks so pretty this chapter, it's actually insane. She is going to serve in Elbaf like never before.

I was right the first time! Chopper was nowhere to be seen! And once again, Nami will never beat the funniest mugiwara allegations.

And finally, this reminded me of the Arabasta desert trip on the giant crab. I don't now if this parallels are made on purpose or not but oh how I enjoyed this.

And if they are made on purpose, I wonder if creating parallels to older arcs will be a recurring theme in this arc. This will probably be our last adventure arc, after this we'll face the big villains and go for the One Piece almost certainly (it made me dizzy to write this), so it seems to me the perfect time to remember how far we've come.

Kazuki Shimizu is the half-blooded son of the technology consultant that travels the world, Hayato Shimizu, and his mother Angelica Campbell. His parents had met in America, where Mr. Shimizu had stayed for a slightly extended business trip due to complications in the office. Hey everyone! I just had to share my latest obsession with you all. I've been completely captivated by a manga called Blue Phobia. Let me tell you, it's absolutely incredible!

First and foremost, the plot is simply mesmerizing. It's filled with twists, turns, and unexpected revelations that keep you on the edge of your seat. The story unfolds in such a captivating way, drawing you deeper into its world with every chapter. I find myself completely engrossed, eagerly turning the pages to uncover the mysteries that lie within. But that's not all! The art style in Blue Phobia is nothing short of breathtaking. I plan on writing sanji with a chubby partner head cannons cause he is my favorite character. But when writing for him it's hard knowing that Oda the creator is fat phobic.

It's no secret that one piece is known for its beautiful women. How they are all drawn with the same skinny body type. Basically saying goodbye to their rib cage. How all the "attractive" women look the same except for a different hair color/style.

But when it's a plus size women. Oda makes them look fucking disgusting.

I just finished the thriller bark arc. Ik that's not far in but their was 2 characters that have caught my attention so far that didn't sit well with me how they were treated.

Granny kokoro from water 7 and Lola from thriller bark.

Both of these characters were disrespected when they were such a big part in helping. He made them basically a tool.

Kokoro is a fuckin queen. I love her. When she was shown to be a mermaid sanji got all sad and shit she wasn't his/oda's definition of beautiful. Cause she was plus size. And looking at how he drawn her is so unrealistic. He made her a circle with a head on it. Literally. Didn't do any details like how he does on the "attractive" women's breast. He full on disrespected her when they wouldn't be alive without her. Not only that hut they couldn't of got there in the first place. And they repay her by making fun of her. Do you know how fucked up that is. They used her for nothing but a tool. And Franky. That Lady raised him. Checked in on him all the time even though he was considered a villain in water 7. And he called her hag and stuff. Treated her so disrespectfully. Always yelling at her. Oh but when it was a skinny girl he would be all excited.

And Lola? HE LITERALLY MADE HER A FUCKIN PIG??? HOW CAN IT BE MORE OBVIOUS BRO. Once again Lola helped nami. And she was a ally! She supported nami when she lied saying she was trans. We stan her for that!! And they made Lola's character so desperate for Male validation. When her soul returned she helped luffy get all that power. They all would have died with out her. And he made her real body both ugly and unrealistic. She looked like a sucking muppet character that was in a private academy school. And not only that but once again being "desperate" and asking them to marry her? And even says. She's been rejected 4,444 times. Her men then patched up the straw Hats.

The disrefuckingspect is crazy. It really is. And I've heard people bringing this up with big momma, that blue fish guy, and that one pirate lady that was fast then suddenly became skinny cause of a fruit.

Oh yeah and one more fuckin thing. ODA ISN'T EVEN SKINNY. HE'S A GOOD MID SIZE AT LEAST. HOW YOU GONNA DIS YOUR OWN KIND???
