Saw your little thing about ask you anything, and I'm sure you've been asked this before but I haven't seen it... HOWEVER, what pieces of media do you think have inspired you the most to make your ocs and the comics that go with them?
A though question. I don't think I have anyone as a direct inspiration as "I want to draw like this artist" or "I want to create stories like this author". I'm certain that the majority of my inspiration is subconscious or runs around certain favorite tropes or themes, like punk and cyperbunk, as well as lots of music, too.
If I narrow this down to media which has really inspired me when I have encountered it the first time, then the inspiration list will be the following:
Tumblr media
Comics by Petri Hiltunen. Some of his works have been translated to English, like Anabasis. I can't remember anymore what happened in the comic Asfaltitasanko (An Asphalt Field) but I remember that it really hit me the right way when I was 13.
Tumblr media
Sláine series by Simon Bisley. It's still running and I read every new book. This is actually a feminist barbarian comic, which is a great combination and you will see echoes of that in Alrick.
Tumblr media
Hob Gandling's story in The Sandman series. Oh I wish I could experience again the time when I read the story for the first time. I was mind opening for a 13 year old.
Tumblr media
Vintage manga from 70's and 80's, as well as anime from 90's and early 2000 (like Slayers Next below). Expressions were very prominent back then and I do generously use that whenever possible. I was SUPER happy when I started watching Jujutsu Kaisen and it had those really big expressions!
Tumblr media
I think that from anime, I should perhaps mention Bleach, because Grimm is inspired by Bleach series Grimmjow. Who is, by the way, also a cat (a panther).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alrick, the whole premise of Death-Head Organization and the generous use of black, solid masses gets all its inspiration from a manga Sun-Ken Rock. Especially from the protagonist Ken Kitano, who is the best positive masculine example in any media I have ever encountered. Also, Algoth looks is inspired by Ken's right hand man, Benito Armani:
Tumblr media
For the animals and animal parts of the characters in DHD, I LOVE kemonomimi! For other series, inspiration comes from game series Bloody Roar and from a comic series Blacksad. Rena is inspired by Bloody Roar's Mitsuko the Wild Boar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We simply can't forget fashion! Metal, punk, cyberpunk, kinksters, and other dark dressed underground people. I'm asked at times why everyone seems to dress up the same and my answer is that since the comic is black and white, with black outfits I get to add some contrast to it. Alexander McQueen is awesome!
Tumblr media
Other mentions to practice keeping mind open, which allows stories to be formed without judgment or thinking that I have no base for this: - Jeffrey Burton Russell's books about the Devil and religious history - Conspiracy theories (as what kinds of things people believe in and how they find evidence for it to support their views, including opposing conspiracy theories like Moon landing was fake VS Moon landing did happen but we haven't gone back because of aliens on the Moon) - Quantum physics
I'm certain you can pick up more things which have inspired me from my stories and drawings. But, if we speak ONLY about Death-Head's Deal, then underground fashion, Sun-Ken Rock, 80's and 90's vintage manga&anime, and Blacksad are the ones.

The Final Fight
Tumblr media
Summary: It´s the final battle, and Luna has a message to deliver
Pairing: Todoroki Shoto x Luna Aizawa (OFC)
Author note: this is just epic in so many way,
Warning: mention of war, spoilers of season 7/ the manga
Word count: 1128
Series masterlist
Part 1 Part 2
Part 3: The Final Fight
The battlefield was a storm of chaos, destruction, and desperation. Dust and debris from shattered buildings filled the air, mixing with the distant cries of civilians and the violent symphony of explosions and Quirk-fueled clashes. In the center of it all, Bakugo was locked in a relentless battle with All For One, every blast pushing the villain further to the edge, but still not enough to take him down.
Dynamight’s explosive speed was terrifying to witness. He moved like a human missile, each detonation pushing him forward with a force that could tear through steel, but All For One was stubborn, his body barely hanging together from the accumulation of damage, yet his will remained unbroken. Every step Dynamight took was a promise: I will finish this.
But amidst the chaos, Luna stood on a distant rooftop, her sniper rifle poised with deadly precision. Her fingers trembled slightly, not from fear, but from the sheer weight of the moment. Her body ached—pushing herself past her limits in the earlier part of the battle had taken its toll. She was on the verge of collapse, but this... this was her moment. The moment she had been preparing for.
Luna inhaled deeply, steeling herself as she aimed through the scope, her target locked. All For One, distracted by Bakugo's ferocity, had not yet noticed her presence.
“Now…” she whispered to herself.
“All For One!” she shouted, her voice cutting through the thunderous din of combat.
For a split second, the battlefield seemed to freeze. All For One, bloodied and bruised, turned toward her voice, his eyes narrowing as he traced its source. He spotted Luna standing confidently, her sniper rifle aimed at him. Something in her presence stopped him—perhaps it was the calm in her demeanor, or the determination in her eyes—but then his gaze landed on her earrings. A jolt of recognition flashed in his expression, and memories from a distant past began to flood his mind. Those earrings—he knew them.
But before he could react, a sharp crack pierced the air as Luna squeezed the trigger. The bullet flew with unerring precision, hitting its mark—right in the side of All For One's neck. His hand instinctively went to the wound, expecting blood, but what he felt instead sent a wave of confusion rippling through him.
The bullet had lodged itself into his neck, but it wasn’t a normal bullet. As he staggered back, disoriented, everyone around him noticed the object embedded in his flesh—it looked like a syringe.
All For One’s eyes went wide. He pulled the syringe out with trembling hands, staring at it in disbelief. There was a sudden change in the atmosphere as everyone realized this was no ordinary attack.
Luna lowered her sniper, her gaze meeting his across the battlefield. “The dead have a message for you,” she said softly, but her voice carried through the wind, heavy with meaning.
A gust of wind swept across the battlefield, lifting her hair and causing her earrings to sway gently. All For One’s heart skipped a beat. Those earrings—he knew them from long ago. Memories of a life he thought he had eradicated, faces he thought he had erased, came flooding back. The ghosts of the past seemed to whisper in his ears.
But before he could fully process what was happening, Bakugo’s roar broke through the air, and another explosion rocked the ground. Dynamight launched himself back into the fray, his relentless assault forcing All For One’s attention away from Luna.
Hawks barely had time to catch Luna before she collapsed. As he held her, cradling her limp form, his wide eyes darted toward the battlefield. All For One staggered, his hand still gripping the syringe-like object lodged in his neck. The syringe glinted under the eerie light of the burning city, a twisted promise of something far worse than death.
"What the hell was that?" Hawks whispered, his voice laced with urgency.
Luna gave a weak smile, barely able to keep her eyes open, but her words carried an edge of triumph. “A serum… it attacks Quirks at the very core.”
Hawks blinked, processing. “You mean…?”
“It erases Quirks. On a chromosomal level. There’s no coming back from this.” Her voice was soft, but the weight of the revelation hung in the air like thunder.
All For One, now fully aware of what had happened, looked down at his hands, panic flashing in his eyes. He tried to activate one of his stolen Quirks, any of them—but nothing happened. He stumbled back, the realization dawning on him. His Quirks... they were gone.
Hawks, still holding Luna, turned to All For One with a smirk. “Looks like that bullet of hers messed with your DNA. No more Quirks, old man.”
All For One’s panic turned into rage. With a feral growl, he raised a trembling hand, aiming to strike down Hawks and the unconscious Luna in one desperate, final act. But before he could even move, Bakugo was there, a blur of motion and fury.
“Don’t you dare,” Bakugo snarled, his body crackling with explosive energy.
In a heartbeat, Bakugo unleashed the full force of his Howitzer Impact. The explosion collided with All For One’s body at point-blank range, shattering the remnants of All Might’s gauntlet in the process. The sheer power of the blast was enough to send All For One flying backward, crashing into the ground with a force that cracked the earth beneath him.
Bakugo stood over the fallen villain, his breathing ragged, sweat and blood dripping from his face, but his eyes burned with unyielding determination. “This is our story,” he growled, “and you’re not the one telling it.”
He unleashed one final, devastating blast directly into All For One’s face. The impact sent shockwaves across the battlefield, and when the dust finally settled, All For One lay motionless, his body shattered, his reign of terror ended.
Silence fell over the battlefield as the realization sank in.
All Might and Katsuki’s parents watched from a distance, their hearts swelling with pride and relief. The battle, the pain, and the sacrifices had finally paid off. Dynamight, bloodied and bruised, had delivered the final blow.
Bakugo, his energy spent, turned and began to walk toward Luna. His legs were shaky, his vision blurry, but he pushed himself forward. Step by step, he closed the distance between them.
But just as he reached her, his body gave out. Bakugo collapsed, falling to the ground beside Luna, unconscious but victorious.

UNITED EMCEEZ -Enter The Hexagon- (Otaku Corps & Oculus Ver.)
Lyrics done by @uenodivision!
Bring the Beat!
[Keiko:]
Hey, yo!
This is the United Emceez!
We are here now!
So, let's kick it!
(Enter the hexagon!)
Yo, knowledge is power, that's my creed
Manga artist by day, wisdom's what I need
Like a sage in the pages, I draw and learn
Anime dreams, now watch the wisdom burn
From high ranks to back alleys, man, what a fall!
You teamed with the desperate cause you couldn’t stand tall
You were once a scientist, now just a shadow
In this manga world, you're nothing but a cameo!
[Nadya:]
Child, in the grand scheme, you're just a fleeting shadow
Nihilism reigns, your tantrums are but a child's sorrow
Life's a lie, death's the truth, a serpent's hiss
Your cries for attention, like venom, they miss
Running to Chuohku? Oh, how very wise!
Like shed snakeskin, they'll just cast you aside
A child mad at mommy, how foolish you are
In this game of shadows, you will not get far
[Keiko:]
Kihabara's Otaku Corps, we have made our stand!
[Nadya:]
Minato's Oculus, we will leave you for dead!
[Keiko:]
I promise you; victory will be ours this day!
[Keiko & Nadya:]
I'm not stopping now, I'm still on my way!
[All:]
Go louder, UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Keiko:]
We do our best and get through every day
Who's gonna go and show the results tonight?
[All:]
We are UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Nadya:]
All eyes on me, you’ll forget to blink
Raise your hands higher and higher!
[Keiko:]
Enter the hexagon!
[Criss:]
We'll build the greatest that is now!
[Meari:]
I won't wait; I'll create my own miracle!
[Nikki:]
Get ready! Our time is now!
[Aika:]
We're reaching for the rap game's pinnacle!
[Criss:]
Exploring the unknown, the other side of life
Seeking out the truth, through darkness and strife!
Call me weird or silly, I don’t care what they say
Paranormal paths, I will walk them every day!
‘Bloody Mary,’ what a joke, you're no witch of lore
Say your name three times, will you disappear, not roar?
Legends and myths, sorry, you don't even compare
In this haunted game, you're just a fleeting scare!
[Meari:]
Did I just hear a whisper? Was it a ghost or a spirit?
Why should I care; they can't even haunt or spit it!
Bitch, I'm a heavy metal queen, spreading my legacy
Nihilist views, self-reliance is my decree
Clamoring for attention, chasing shadows in the dark
When you fade away, girlie, your grave will be unmarked!
Like your precious haunted stories, you won't even exist
And like your dear, old parents, you won't be mourned or missed!
[Criss:]
Not much by myself, but I'm with Otaku Corps!
[Meari:]
Fuck with Oculus, and they won't even find your corpse!
[Criss:]
I'll keep progressing with my friends to see a brand-new day!
[Criss & Meari:]
I'm not stopping now, I'm still on my way!
[All:]
Go louder, UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Criss:]
We do our best and get through every day
Who's gonna go and show the results tonight?
[All:]
We are UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Meari:]
All eyes on me, you'll forget to blink
Raise your hands higher and higher!
[Nikki:]
Rapping's just a tool, another game that I play
Building worlds in my mind, where I choose to stay
Reality's a bore, imagination's my domain
In this virtual realm, I reign supreme, no pain
Family drama? Not my quest, I really don't care
VeeXn, you're an NPC that's barely worth a stare
In my game, you're nothing more than just a glitch on the shelf
Stick to what you do best. And that's selling yourself
[Aika:]
What a rude little child, I won't go easy on you
Small and reclusive, so I'll easily break through
Rapping to indulge my hedonistic delight
Life's meant for pleasure, new sensations in sight
What am I doing? Wasting my breath on a screen-bound girl
In your make-believe world, you can barely twirl
It's a wonder you have friends, be grateful that you're seen
Even in your daydreams, the Fox still reigns supreme
[Nikki:]
Opposing Otaku Corps? Prepare to get deleted!
[Aika:]
Think to defeat Oculus? How very conceited!
[Nikki:]
You're just a footnote that we'll crush at the end of the day!
[Nikki & Aika:]
I'm not stopping now, I'm still on my way!
[All:]
Go louder, UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Nikki:]
We do our best and get through every day
Who's gonna go and show the results tonight?
[All:]
We are UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Aika:]
All eyes on me, you'll forget to blink
Raise your hands higher and higher!
[Keiko & Nadya:]
Look up at this hexagon in the night sky
[Criss & Meari:]
Always go where the light leads you to
[Nikki & Aika:]
Our future can be changed in the blink of an eye
[Keiko:]
Now welcome to the new world
Mangaka!
[Criss:]
Paradox!
[Nikki:]
1-Up!
[Otaku Corps:]
Otaku Corps!
[Nadya:]
Vipera!
[Meari:]
Bloody Mary!
[Aika:]
VeeXn!
[Oculus:]
Oculus!
[All:]
Go louder, UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Nadya:]
We do our best and get through every day
Who's gonna go and show the results tonight?
[All:]
We are UNITED EMCEEZ!
The words that were scattered will link up into breakbeats!
[Meari:]
All eyes on me, you'll forget to blink
Raise your hands higher and higher!

I'm rereading Guyver as I do every few years. For those unfamiliar, the jist is, a young man inadvertenly finds and is forcibly bonded to an alien high-tech suit of armor with fantastic destructive capabilities. The unit was excavated by the evil corporation/organization Cronos, which seeks to take over the world by messing around with biotechnology, genetic manipulation, etc. The main characters are then on the run from Cronos, and battle all sorts of shape-changing monsters called zoanoids.
In Guyver, it's implied that mythological beings are inspired by sightings of ancient zoanoids -- in fact, way later in the manga, the characters end up on an ancient "lost world" island full of "mythological" beings. There's a similar plot point in Bloody Roar -- many mythical beasts were just ancient zoanthropes.
Guyver has sort of been forgotten but it's still very influential; I'm not listing every sci-fi thing that takes cues from it but just know that's there's a lot lol. You can def see its influence in Bloody Roar -- Tylon is pretty much Cronos, zoanoids/zoanthropes, plus Xion's beast form's resemblance to the armor

Rusalka part 2: After the storm
Another part of Rusalka!
Maybe not fluff but i wouldn't call it angst. A bit of blood but nothing compared to manga/anime. I hope you will find the ending funny.
~ 1 000 words
Enjoy!
"Stop it!" [Y/N] nudged the spotted goat, stubbornly wandering under her feet. The bells attached to its horns jingled irritatingly, demanding a drink. The woman adjusted her grip on the handle of the ax and took a sharp breath. The icy air of Karafuto stung her throat, but it was nothing compared to anger bubbling inside her. Bubbling with irritation, cold and, what's worse, lack of sleep. Pushed by the sudden strength, she once again took a swing and split the ice cover in two. The joyful animals rushed towards her, pressing their snouts into the icy water even before she could fish out the thick ice and throw it aside.
Pushed by furry rumps, she gave way and sat on a nearby fence. She put her feet on the lower board, as if the very contact with the ground was sucking all the warmth out of her, and glanced around the monotonous landscape, tucking her cracked hands under her armpits.
There was snow as far as the eye could see. On the roof, on the road, sometimes even on animals. Drifts blew by the wind cut her off from the village, whose tall columns of smoke rose toward the gray clouds. When she squinted, she could see small figures already digging paths between the houses. Soon they will reach her house.
The brown horse made its presence felt by nuzzling her pockets. He had to make sure she wasn't hiding any treats from him.
“Your owner scared the life out of me last night” she admitted, pushing away the steaming muzzle. The animal, disinterested, moved away into the pasture, leaving her alone.
She rubbed her tired face, feeling the sudden surge of strength give way to righteous fatigue. The pauses between breaths became longer, the icy air stung her throat, and fingers began to stiffen. A sleepless night hung over her thoughts like a hail cloud. Her strained back was unable to keep her straight. Not after she half-dragged the man across the courtyard to the doorstep. Finding a foreign soldier wounded and eaten alive by fever in the shed was certainly not part of her plans for this season. Nor for any other. Nevertheless, she couldn't leave him on his own.
She looked through her fingers again towards the village. Maybe it was a good thing that the storm cut her off from the rest of the villagers. No one will be able to see what a stupid idea she came up with this time.
She should check on her unexpected quest soon. His body needs food to fight the infection, even if it requires waking him up. She placed her hands on the fence, suddenly unsure whether she would have the strength to reach the door if she jumped off it. She glanced towards the building, gauging the distance just in time to see the door slide open.
He crossed the threshold with surprisingly steady steps for someone who had been unable to get up on his own just a few hours earlier. Even more surprising was his coat, unbuttoned despite the icy weather. And worst of all was the gun pointed straight at her.
The world froze and ashed. All she could hear was the rushing sound of the Sanzu River, which she was about to cross. For a second lasting a century, she looked back at all the mistakes she had made in her life, ending with the pale Russian pointing at her from the doorway of her own house. She let him in there herself.
The gunshot shattered the frozen reality, throwing her to the ground. She felt no pain, didn't really feel anything. All she could hear was buzzing, drowning out everything else. From the distant world of the living, she could hear the panicked roars of startled animals, and much closer there was a high-pitched clamor. Maybe it's her own scream? She wasn't sure. She could already see her own body lying limp in the snow and a bloody stain growing around it. The first crimson drops had already started to caress her cheek.
She closed her eyes, feeling sudden helplessness. All she could think were her poor goats, suddenly deprived of a loving owner. They were so mean and annoying that their new owner will immediately turn them into sausages.
At least until a shadow passed over her eyelids and stray snow splashed onto her face. The man jumped over her, striking something out of her sight with the butt of his rifle. The clamoring sounded again, further this time, followed by another gunshot. Much less drastic than the first one.
She felt more than heard the crunch of snow caving in under his shoes. Blue eyes appeared above her, just below worried eyebrows and slightly over scarred cheeks, marked with fresh blood. He fell into the snow at her side and yanked her to a sitting position. He stretched her arm, scanning it quickly, forcing her to turn her face to look at her cheek. Until she pushed him away.
He gave her an irritated look, reigniting her anger. He just tried to shoot her. She should be the annoyed one. Worse. She should be dead.
She looked at herself, but her coat bore no trace of blood. Just a few larger drops on the sleeve. She rubbed her hands over her torso, neck, everywhere. She didn't even find a bullet scratch anywhere. Then whose blood was it?
She looked up at the man with lost gaze. Without a word, he raised his hand, pointing to a red shape surrounded by a bloody, steaming halo. Bared teeth still gleamed in a dead smile, the dark muzzle still marked with white foam, and the ruffled fur smoothed by the wind. A rabid dog.
She looked back at the sharpshooter, still kneeling in the bloody snow marking the spot of the first shoot. Less than a meter from the place where she had just been sitting carelessly.
He was aiming at the rabid dog.
She drew a thin stream of breath through pursed lips and then punched him straight in the ribs, through a gap in his unbuttoned coat.
This man will be the death of her.

Annon-Guy: Fighting Climax - Your close, but everyone except Akira and Selvaria originated from Light Novels, a "cousin" of sorts to Manga. The Anime shows didn't happen until later after the Novels (and manga sometimes). Sometimes Anime Adaptations get flack for either not following the story (which in Dengeki's case is not the case and they stay close to the original story) or flanderizing certain characters (Taiga is much MORE physically aggressive to Ryyuji in the anime then in the novel).
I'm vaguely familiar with a lot of shows having originated as Light Novels, but I find myself reading Manga versions more often these days, so I'm less familiar with the Light Novel versions.
And yes, I'm aware of the Virtua Fighter and Valkyria Chronicles guests, though I'm also aware that Virtua Fighter characters have also been guest characters in the Dead or Alive games as well.
I'm not entirely familiar with Valkyrie Chronicles, though I have heard of it (military simulation tactical games don't interest me as much as other genres do, like Valkyrie Profile/Valkyrie Elysium for example or the Disgaea games).
I've played anime styled fighting games like Jump All-Stars before, and even the Tales of Versus game, among others... heck, I even covered Shining Blade Arcus recently...
But, I find, in terms of my own personal interests with fighting games in particular, that I prefer a very specific style of anime game.
That style of game started with games like Battle Arena Toshinden and Soul Blade (Soul Edge/Soul Calibur) and even obscure 2D fighting games like Gundam Battle Assault and The Rumble Fish... it was that "sharp art style" of very pronounced characters with a unique intensity that really drew me in.
Next of course would be Samurai Shodown (Samurai Spirits) and even Bloody Roar... but unfortunately I never had as much time to play those games or the funds.
Nope... try as I might... both as a fan of anime and a fan of games... I could never shake my feelings for one game alone.
And even if that game spawned offshoots (like BlazBlue, Skullgirls, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Dragonball FighterZ, and even DNF Duel)... I still wouldn't stop being a FAN of that one singular game and its unique style of visuals, music, and pacing as a fighting game.
You DO realize... I'm talking about Guilty Gear, don't you?

Do you have any inspirations while creating Sanguinary? Movies, games, manga, etc?
I love literally every character so far btw.
YES i was gonna answer this earlier but i knocked out (also i’m like. so happy u love every character that makes me so UGH that’s amazing THANK U)
the biggest inspirations i thiiiink have probably been vampire: the masquerade (specifically the 2004 game but the whole thing in general 100%, literally stolen concept), bloody roar (games 1 and 2 specifically but the manga too omg i loved the manga), saints row (DEFINITELY 2, maybe 3 and 4), and jim hardiman comics (probably shouldn’t have been reading those at age 13)
the entire comic is really just a combobulation of all the media and outside input ive ingested in my life so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly. a lot of music inspires me too idk, i feel like i’ve unconsciously made like a million references to random stuff, like i accidentally almost copied an entire scene from the boondocks saints (1999) bc that movie unfortunately shaped my child brain permanently. i wanna say maybe a lot of old fan servicey anime i watched growing up too? rosario vampire comes to mind (i personally liked the manga better i read it in middle school hehehehher)

Bloody Roar Fanzine Q&A
As our Interest Check continues, we'll answer questions!
This one's a double whammy, as the two questions are related.
Q: I'm new to Bloody Roar. Can I still participate?
A: Part of keeping this series alive is finding new people who can love it just the same, so if you find anything that appeals to you here then please jump in on the fun!
Q: Where do I start as a newcomer to the series?
A: There's a few places, really. Since this is an older series, if you want to play the games yourself you'll most likely have to emulate them. The BR FGC Server on Discord has detailed instructions for how to do this. If you want to jumpstart learning about the characters, story, and setting, then the BR Wiki is a good springboard, but Mod Snoof has been working on compiling canon information from the games for the past few years which can be found in this document here. There is also SCXCR's Bloody Roar Retrospective series on YouTube, which continues to be the most thorough and accurate to date.
If you have any questions you'd like answered or comments you want to share, our askbox is open or you can email us at [email protected]!

‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ Chapter 5 ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙
The neon lights of Shinjuku flickered through the dense fog, casting an eerie glow on the rain-slicked streets below. Shadows shifted and twisted, morphing into grotesque figures that clawed and writhed with malevolent hunger. Amidst this chaos, two figures moved with deadly grace and unerring purpose.
Boe, her eyes as bright as the neon lights around her, stood in the center of a deserted intersection. With a swift motion, she slit her palm, and from the wound, daggers of crimson blood formed, gleaming with a sinister light. She twirled them effortlessly, a crimson dance of death in her hands.
Beside her, Sarah stood tall, her expression cold and resolute. She raised her arms and brushed them along her scar, and with a crack of bones echoing through the air, she pulled a spear from within. The marrow of life twisted into a weapon of death. Her eyes, burning with intensity, scanned the shadows for their next target.
The curses, twisted amalgamations of human and nightmare, surged forward. Boe leaped into the fray, her daggers slashing through the air with terrifying precision. Each strike was a blur, the curses falling apart as her blood-dripped blades carved through them. Beside her, Sarah swung her bone spear, impaling and shattering the creatures with brutal efficiency.
They moved as one, an unstoppable force against the encroaching darkness. The streets echoed with the guttural cries of the cursed and the savage symphony of battle. As they fought, the fog thickened, the buildings around them looming like silent sentinels.
Without a word, Boe and Sarah raced towards a towering skyscraper, its upper floors shrouded in a pulsing, malevolent energy. They scaled the walls with the agility of predators, their weapons leaving trails of blood and cursed energy in their wake. The cursed beings clung to the walls, screeching as they were torn apart, their dark essence dissipating into the night.
Reaching the rooftop, they were met with a horrific sight. A massive creature, its form shifting and writhing, loomed over the city. Its eyes, voids of endless darkness, locked onto them. Boe and Sarah exchanged a glance, their unspoken bond strengthening their resolve.
Boe surged forward, her blood daggers morphing into a whip that lashed out, wrapping around the creature's limbs and tearing through its flesh. Sarah followed, swapping her bone spear for a glaive, each swing severing the monster's sinewy tendrils.
The battle raged, the rooftop a maelstrom of blood and bone, darkness and light. The creature roared, its form unraveling under their relentless assault. Boe, her strength waning but her determination unbroken, lunged at its core, driving her blood dagger deep into its heart. With a final, piercing scream, the creature exploded into a shower of dark mist, the cursed energy dissipating into the night. Boe collapsed to her knees, breathless and bloodied, while Sarah stood guard, her bone weapon still poised for any lingering threats.
"You good?" Sarah asked, her eyes still scanning the area, "Did one get you?"
Boe shook her head as she stood again, "Nah, I'm good. Too much booze last night."
Sarah smirked and swatted at Boe's arm, "Told ya you party too much."
Boe smiled sheepishly, "Yeh, well you don't party enough."
Sarah shrugged, "Fair enough."
The two of them approached the edge of the skyscraper, peering down towards the streets below. The night was silent once more, the neon lights flickering back to life as the fog began to lift. Both of their weapons dissipated in a flash of cursed energy, and Sarah looked up at Boe beside her.
"Well, shit. Let's drink tonight or something, yeah?" Sarah said with a smirk, "Get pissed on top of the world and then vomit on whales or whatever it is you do."
"You wanna wait until tonight?" Boe grinned, leaning with her arm on Sarah's shoulder, "That's such a long time! Day drinking is cool too, ya know."
"True, but I gotta go deal with the slut today." Sarah sighed, "Something about the information from that compound I wrecked the other day with Nanami."
"Why can't he just talk to Nanami?" Boe grumbled, "They've been relying on us an awful lot lately."
"They really have." Sarah said, her jaw setting before she shook her head, "Too reliant. I don't like it."
"Well, whatever." Boe chuckled, "It's good money anyway."
Sarah turned, looking up at Boe, "Oh, speaking of." She reached into her pocket and handed over a printed out note, "Stop fucking the crack head in our office. The cleaning crew had a fit about the coke and jizz."
Boe cackled, "Oh shit that's right! Well I couldn't clean it while you and him-"
"Don't." Sarah growled, "I don't want to talk about him."
"Fine, fine." Boe said, her voice softening, "I'm sorry. I get it."
"Anyway," Sarah said, visibly relaxing, "Knock that shit off. Do it in another room or something."
Boe gave her a half-assed two finger salute, "'Kay!"
Descending the building, the pair shared a high-five. The morning sun dispersed the fog, making the neon lights flicker off. Shinjuku was stirring awake as they headed home after a night of thankless work. Their efforts went unnoticed, with no evidence of the dangers they faced for a society that would not understand.
"Tsk." Sarah voiced her frustration as she remembered to tie her mask around her neck.
It was stupid. The stupid masks. The stupid rules about which curses were allowed to be exorcized. The stupid handbook they gave to sorcerers. The stupid rules about when they could legally use their techniques. All of it was stupid.
As she walked down the street, a group of men quickly moved aside, giving her plenty of space. She clenched her jaw, resisting the urge to scowl at them. However, she knew that showing her frustration wouldn't bring her any solace. Lately, everything seemed to be getting on her nerves. There was definitely something brewing, and it had her feeling both agitated and on edge.
Opening the grand doors into Tenjiku, she strode past the hostess with a small wave only for the blonde woman to call her back.
"Ma'am, I'm sorry. I know you're tired but we have an issue." The woman said hesitantly.
"Alright." Sarah said, her expression even, "No, its fine. What's up Nitta?"
"Mako." Nitta replied, and both of the women exchanged an exasperated look.
"Again?" Sarah huffed, "This bitch is more trouble than she's worth."
"Well, she's very popular with our older clientele." Nitta said with a sheepish smile, "And she-"
"I know." Sarah cut her off, "What's she upset about today."
"Apparently her sheets weren't washed properly. Too much incense was also used in her room." Nitta explained, "She's refusing customers until the problem is resolved."
Sarah let her head tip back with a big long sigh. Straightening again she nodded to Nitta, "Alright. I'll go talk to her."
It was like a never-ending chain of problems. First, there was the issue with Mako that needed to be resolved. But as soon as that was sorted out, another problem emerged - the laundry detail. And then, in order to address the complaints, she had to approach the managers responsible for supplies. And before she knew it, all these events had led her to stand right outside Utahime and Shoko's bedroom...
Leaning against the wall, she let out a groan while resting her head on her arm. With a gentle tap on the door, she closed her eyes, eagerly anticipating someone to approach her for a conversation. In a hushed voice, she muttered to herself, desperately longing for this to be the final stop before she could finally drift off to sleep.
"What is it?" Utahime said, cracking the door.
Sarah reached into her pocket, fishing out a long handwritten list of complaints. "Here." She sighed, "I did what I could. I know you're off today but Mako immediately went off."
Utahime snatched the note, her eyes narrowed, "Are you serious? I just-"
Sarah waved her hand as she stood up, "Yeah whatever... I'm gonna go lay down. Just text me what you want me to do about... all of that."
She made her way to her room, nudging the door open. The peaceful silence enveloped her as she removed her sneakers. The cozy bed beckoned her, but right before she could collapse into it, a faint scent caught her attention. As she peeled off her clothes, she peered around the room to find the source. It was so familiar...
There. It was a tiny clear vase on the end table, holding a single lotus bloom positioned carefully on the rim to dangle with the stem submerged in water. She gazed at it, extending her hand to softly brush the petals of the flower. Clenching her teeth, she pushed it off the end table with a swift motion of her hand before sinking into bed.
Nothing was more infuriating than reminders of her past, especially when it was coming from the one person she hated the very most.

"Oh, there she is!" Geto said, that signature cat-like smile resting on his face, "How was the night patrolling?"
Sarah looked at him incredulously, the dark circles still under her eyes from her pathetic attempt to sleep during the day. "It was fine I guess." She sighed, "Boring. Nothing over grade two."
Once she entered the building, he closed the door behind her as she slipped off her shoes. She waited for him, then walked next to him as they made their way to the meeting room together. The building was quite noisy today, probably because a lot of the younger guys were in their home base. She couldn't help but notice that Geto seemed a bit on edge as well.
"What's going on?" She asked quietly, "Something on your mind?"
Geto blinked, waking from whatever thoughts were gnawing at him. He turned to look down at her and smiled, "Oh? Are you worried about me?"
"Tsk," she looked away, "Not anymore."
He chuckled, putting his arm around her shoulders, "How sweet! You never worry about me anymore."
She picked his arm up by the wrist as if she was peeling trash off her skin, "Yes, well. That's because I never can tell if you're being serious or if you're just trying to get me to fuck you out of sympathy."
"Can't it be both?" He leaned closer to purr only for her to shove at his face while he laughed.
"Knock that shit off." She growled, "That's not funny."
"Alright, alright I apologize." Geto said, "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
"Whatever." She huffed, "Just be serious, alright? I'm not in the mood."
"You're never in the mood." He said, attempting to hide his smirk.
"Geto I swear if you--"
"Good afternoon Sarah. Geto." Nanami said, meeting them in the hall.
"Afternoon Nanami." Geto said, Sarah echoing the statement.
The three of them walked into the meeting room and settled down on the cozy black leather couches. Right away, Geto took out a pack of cigarettes and offered one to Sarah. She politely refused and took out a small bag of hard candies, placing them on the table instead. Nanami lit his own cigarette using the flame from Geto's lighter.
After a moment, Sarah spoke first. "So, you wanted to discuss your findings from the compound?" She asked, looking at Nanami.
The blond man nodded, "Yes. Normally I wouldn't bother you for such a loose connection, but it's something that may be of interest to you."
"Go on." Sarah said, leaning back in her seat with a hard candy between her teeth.
Nanami exhaled a plume of smoke from the corner of his mouth before he pulled out a small notepad. He flipped through it before he slid it over on the table towards Sarah. She picked it up, her eyes scanning over the meticulous notes before she looked back up at him.
"Exactly." He said, noting her expression, "This location was run by the Hayashida couple, as you know, but it was funded by someone under that moniker again."
"Q.N." Sarah said, tossing the notepad back into the table, "Any information on where the money is coming from?"
Nanami took another drag, leaning down to tap his ashes into a tray, "I'm afraid not much. From the information Muta was able to give us, we may be able to track more about this person from the emails."
"Interesting." Sarah said, crossing her legs, "So it was laundered first?"
Nanami nodded, "Yes. It seems it was passed through at least one source before being sent to the Hayashidas as a donation. Through a large art auction, apparently."
"Art auction?" Sarah snorted, "How old school. Do y'all even still do that here?"
Geto scoffed, "No, of course not. I'm sure that the Kamo or Zen'in group still go about it that way though."
"Alright, so," Sarah pointed over at Nanami, "Any chance you have the list of the artists or venue or anything?"
Nanami shook his head, "Not yet. I just came across the information and wanted to alert you as soon as possible."
With a sigh, Sarah sat up in her seat again, "Thanks Nanami. Appreciate you looking out."
"Of course." He replied, "I assume you are interested in helping me with this matter?"
"Oh fuck yes." She grinned, "Whoever that mother fucker is, we have a score to settle. I'm definitely in."
"This sounds interesting!" Geto said with a curious smile, "Any chance you want to share?"
"No." The other two said simultaneously.
Geto pursed his lips, "Why? Aren't you interested in what I might know? Perhaps I can help?"
"Or you'll tell that shit-head shit that he doesn't need to know." Sarah said, rolling her eyes, "And the coke doesn't let him keep his damn mouth shut."
"He can be discreet when needed." Geto said with a laugh, "C'mon. I won't tell him."
"No." Sarah said curtly, "Is that it, or do you need something else?"
"Oh, well you could stay for a moment longer." Geto said, "We also needed to discuss what we learned from Red."
"Red?" Sarah asked, cocking her eyebrow up, "Who the hell is that?"
"Oh? I thought you'd-"
"If it doesn't directly affect me or Tenjiku I don't care." Sarah said with a huff, "Stop including me in your bullshit automatically. I'm not loyal to the Yaga group specifically." She stood up, "Call me if you need something or someone killed, otherwise I don't give a shit."
She dumped a few of the candies onto the table before scooping up the bag. Tucking it into her pocket she thanked Nanami one more time before heading back out the door.
"And she's gone as fast as she arrived." Geto said with a chuckle, picking up one of the candies, "Always in a hurry, that one."
"I understand her drive." Nanami said calmly, "She has something she wants to accomplish."
"What do you know about it?" Geto asked, "Did she give you any hints?"
"From what I know," Nanami said calmly, "Q.N. has been someone she's been seeking for years. It has something to do with the scar on her back and Gojo seems to be involved somehow."
"Satoru?" Geto said, rubbing his cigarette out in the ashtray as he peeled the wrapping off the candy, "Is he aware?"
"I would assume so." Nanami said, "But it's best not to bring it up around either of them. I made that mistake once before." He scowled, pushing his yellow sunglasses up with two fingers, "Sarah only gets agitated and angry and Gojo won't talk about it at all."
"Something even he won't talk about?" Geto pondered, "Now that is something interesting."
"Aside from that, though," Nanami continued, "Whatever it is, it's something that is deeply concealed and bigger than just our normal affairs. I can only assume that at some point we may be involved."
Yaga opened the door and both Nanami and Geto rose to their feet. With a wave of his hand, Yaga moved past them to sit in the armchair beside the couches. With a small smile, he picked up one of the candies off the table before sitting back.
"Sarah was here, I see." He said, popping the red treat into his mouth, "I'm assuming you informed her about her target?"
"Yes, sir." Nanami answered, "She is going to assist us in this matter, as you had correctly guessed."
Yaga let out a single chuckle, "Well, it wasn't much of a guess. That girl will do anything to find that person."
Geto smiled, "Well, shall we move onto our other topic?"
"Yes." Yaga nodded, "Tell me. What did Fade learn?"
"Well, after about two hours of attempts, Fade successfully broke through the binding vow on Red," Geto explained, "The cocaine was being brought to Shinjuku by boat, as we expected, but Red's employers insisted he start slipping in the odd curse drug with each amount sold."
"But for what purpose?" Yaga asked, biting down on the candy in his mouth.
"Outwardly it appears just to be a way for curses to spread and spawn faster, especially through non-sorcerers," Geto continued, "But as for who wants that to be the case we only have a hint that Kamo is involved somehow."
"How?" Nanami asked, and Geto smiled.
"Well, it's made of curse blood specifically. And we all know of course that the Kamo clan specializes in the blood manipulation arts." Geto said.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't their blood manipulation only able to affect their own blood?" Yaga asked, crossing his arms.
"For the average Kamo clan member, I would say yes." Geto agreed, "But, it's certainly within the realm of possibility that they have a secret sorcerer or two with a technique that we've never seen."
"Did Fade get a name?" Yaga asked, "Location?"
"Yes, we have the names of a few Kamo and Zen'in that I intend to speak with. We also have a location in Niigata that seems to have connections to the Kamo clan." Geto said, "That was all Fade was capable of before Red was rendered useless."
"Useless?" Yaga scoffed, "Shame. I liked his technique."
Geto sighed, "I did as well. It was quite useful."
"Any chance he's got a relative? Maybe a girlfriend he conveniently knocked up?" Yaga asked, raising his eyebrow.
"I can certainly find out for you, sir." Geto chuckled.
Nanami stood up suddenly, sliding his phone back into his pocket. He bowed to Yaga before he said, "My apologies, sir. I have a call I need to be on. Pardon my exit."
Yaga dismissed him, but Geto couldn't help but catch on to the trend. Lately, Nanami had been frequently absent during important meetings. It was happening more often than usual. Considering Nanami's usual dedication, it was strange to see him leave so abruptly.
"Have you spoken to Kojiro about the curses?" Yaga asked.
"Yes, sir." Geto said, "It's quite interesting, actually. He's determined that they are indeed a new breed as I suspected. Instead of being created at their full size they are essentially born at that small size and quickly grow by consuming negativity."
"So instead of being formed with negativity they consume it to grow." Yaga clarified aloud, "Does this mean they don't attempt to hurt humans?"
"No, they're still just as dangerous unfortunately." Geto answered, "They do seem harmless at first but once they're large enough to attack they will do so on sight."
"What a pain." Yaga sighed, "We'll need to be on the lookout then. We can't allow this new breed to mingle with what we already have to deal with."
"I'll send out a message, sir." Geto said with a nod, "Is there anything else I can help you with?"
Yaga shook his head, "No. That's good for now. Good work."
"Thank you, sir." Geto said with a smile.
After leaving the room, Geto strolled down the hallway, lost in his thoughts. It was quite an exhilarating experience for him. Firstly, he couldn't help but wonder about Gojo's hidden secret. Secondly, there was the whole Kamo and Zen'in clan situation to deal with. And lastly, he had to figure out a way to get rid of Red and send a strong message to everyone involved. With Gojo's reaction being that dangerous, it was crucial for everyone in the drug ring to witness the consequences of getting tangled up with that substance.
Around the corner he turned when something caught his attention. Geto's body stiffened, his senses tuned in as he caught a faint, rhythmic thumping sound emanating from Nanami's office. A mischievous grin spread across his face, a realization dawning upon him. He had a solid hunch about what was happening there in that office. It couldn't be anything else.
It was something he never expected to witness. Kento Nanami, the epitome of professionalism and directness, had someone else in his office privately with the door shut. As he neared the door, the sound of a woman's voice and muffled breaths reached his ears. He had no intention of prying or lingering more than that, but then he heard it...
"Rin." Nanami breathed her name like a prayer, the intensity of his emotions sounded impossible to be contained any longer. "And I want to be yours."
Geto covered his mouth with his hand and stepped back, feeling dizzy and his jaw clenching. Rin?! With Nanami?!
Surely it wasn't that Rin, right? She wouldn't be so brazen, so foolish. He had to know. Had to straighten it out in his mind. His hand gently grasped the doorknob, careful not to move it too much. Slowly he turned it, pushing it in just enough to peer inside
His breath hitched.
Rin sat on his lap, their foreheads touching as Nanami leaned in closer. Their lips hovered just a hair's breadth apart, their mouths slightly parted as they exchanged heavy breaths. Her kimono was slightly undone, and his palms rested on her breasts. With each deliberate and deep movement, Nanami let out a contented sigh, his eyes fluttering. Rin stifled a soft whimper as their lips locked in a passionate but brief embrace.
"Kento." She sighed, her head tilting back as his nose dragged up her neck. His lips were stained with her lipstick, the color dragging onto her skin as he nipped and kissed softly.
Geto stepped back, shaking his head. His expression darkened, his eyes full of hatred. How dare they! How dare she!
"Come here," Nanami whispered, and Geto's stomach turned as Rin let out a soft whimper.
Geto suppressed his anger, his hands tightly balled up. Carefully shutting the door once more, he gradually let go of the handle and stepped back. Stuffing his hands into his pockets, he glared ahead. Now wasn't the moment to spoil this chance. He had stumbled upon something valuable, even if it fueled his fury.
━─┉┈◈❖◈┈┉─━
In the cold, still air of the mountain night, three young men trudged along a narrow, rocky path, their breath visible in the moonlight. Itadori, Inumaki, and Hakari moved in tense silence, each lost in his own thoughts. The only sound was the crunch of their boots on the gravel and the occasional creak from the large wooden crate they were struggling to carry.
Itadori’s hands were numb from the cold, and his mind raced with anxiety. "Do you think we’re far enough yet?" he asked, glancing nervously over his shoulder as if expecting someone to appear out of the darkness.
Inumaki, walking beside him, nodded curtly. His usually talkative nature was subdued tonight, his face set in a grim expression. "shake," he muttered under his breath, with a nod.
Hakari, at the front, leading the way with a flashlight in one hand, seemed completely unbothered. He glanced back, his face lit up by the yellow glow, and grinned. "Relax, you two. We’re almost there. No one’s following us."
Itadori tried to take comfort in Hakari’s confidence, but it was difficult. The crate they carried held a dark secret, something they all wished they could forget. He shivered, more from fear than the cold. "What if someone finds out? What if they already know?"
Hakari shrugged, his nonchalance unwavering. "Then we deal with it. Worrying won’t help us now."
Inumaki’s grip tightened on the crate. "takana," he muttered, a sign of his growing unease. Despite his efforts to remain composed, the gravity of their situation was getting to him.
They continued their climb, the terrain growing steeper and more treacherous. The moonlight cast long shadows, turning every tree and rock into a potential threat. The weight of the crate seemed to increase with each step, pressing down on them like the guilt they all felt.
After what felt like an eternity, they reached a small clearing near the summit. The ground was softer here, a layer of loose soil perfect for their grim task. Hakari set down his end of the crate and stretched his arms, looking around with a satisfied nod. "This is the spot."
Itadori and Inumaki lowered their end of the crate with a mixture of relief and dread. They stood in a tight circle around it, the reality of what they were about to do sinking in. Inumaki pulled out a shovel from his backpack and handed another to Itadori.
For a moment, they all stood in silence, staring at the ground where they would soon bury their secret. Then, with a deep breath, Hakari broke the stillness. "Let’s get to work."
The shovels bit into the earth, the sound of digging mingling with the whispers of the wind. As the hole grew deeper, the weight of their actions pressed heavier on Itadori’s mind. He stole a glance at Hakari, who remained composed and focused, and then at Inumaki, whose face was drawn with worry.
Hours passed, and finally, the hole was deep enough. With a sense of finality, they lowered the crate into the earth. Itadori felt a pang of guilt and regret as they covered it up, the soil swallowing their secret.
When they finished, they stood around the freshly turned earth, their breathing heavy, their bodies aching. Hakari wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at his friends. "It’s done. Let’s get out of here."
They began their descent in silence, each lost in their thoughts. The night seemed darker now, the weight of their deed casting a shadow over their spirits. Itadori’s heart still raced, and Inumaki’s mutterings were quieter than usual. Only Hakari seemed unchanged, his steps steady and sure.
As they reached the foot of the mountain, the first light of dawn began to creep over the horizon. Itadori looked back one last time, the mountain now a silent witness to their crime. He turned to his friends, hoping that this would be the end of their nightmare.
But deep down, he knew that some secrets never stayed buried.
