Prime war fan fic?

Ok so, for those who don't know, the Prime War is a post-OblivAeon conflict where these teams of heroes and villains were brought together by entities called Prime Aspects to hop across alternate universes, each in support of an ideal espoused by their prime aspect sponsor.

And the basis of my fanfiction is telling stories from this largely unexplored era, with them hoping between disparate realities, recruiting new teammates and fighting each other.

Some highlights of this fanfiction:

-As mentioned in the aforementioned tag, Windwalker has been let go from the Bloodsworn (The team fighting for glory), and has been replaced with what I call the Fuse Operative. Fuse Operative basically has Zhu Long bound into a magical tattoo that lets her use his powers, but every time she does, the tattoo grows shorter, and if it ever dissapears completely, she'll die. But she can extend the tattoo by defeating powerful opponents.

-A major PoV character is a Unity variant who ends up studying both magic and robotics

-There is an alternate universe where the Freedom Five and Vengeance Five go to highschool together, while the normally teen and younger heroes are now the experts and long time heroes. Wraith and Ermine are step sisters

-Black Ice of the Wardens(team of Preservation) is a lovely, friendly, funny guy, who beneath it all is a completely remorseless killer

-The Vanguard(team of Conquest) work very hard to recover Iron Legacy

-Prism and Apostate fuck

-Despite the Mavericks(team of Progress) having a Laser powered Spec Ops soldier, a giant plant monster, magitech using Unity, and the version of Wraith that killed the chairman in cold blood, Parse is the scary one

-Possible arbitrary crossovers with other franchises

-Alternate Expatriette who uses Harpy's mask.

-Other things?

i'm just collecting bits and pieces of information here but i like that even though there's one (1) father everyone kinda knows/assumes is ashe's biological father it doesn't matter because what matters is all 5 of them (for my own reference, they're called yrael, grimshall, logren, ereen and rorn) swore themselves to her mom and to raise and protect ashe and they did and they're all her dads and i just think it's neat

6. The Foundling

The Foundling, abandoned to his fate,

The sixth character in my silly poem series is Pipin Tarupin of @bloodsworn-marshal - not technically an OC perhaps, but one of the best roleplay realisations of a canon lore figure I've ever come across on Tumblr or elsewhere.

Pipin is one of my favourite FFXIV characters and this blog truly does him justice, with fantastic writing, incredibly creative gposing (see above) and its very own gold spangled New Year's Eve tradition...

Definitely worth a follow if you're not already!

🌈 - Do you associate any colors with them?

Dark blue is what I consider Val's heraldic color! I think I originally imagined her more often in reds and golds, but one of the first magical items she was gifted was a cloak that our bard/cleric Sarula had magically dyed for her. When asked the color, they said it was blue, and I think my brain accepted that with the same grace that Val would, which is; well, my friends think this suits me, so it does.

Sarula's taste has ALWAYS been exquisite, anyway.

Which is really just to say:

Don't get Val drunk unless you want to listen to the same stupid pun or the same besotted story about her girlfriend over and over.

Don't fucking touch her family.

💔 - Does forgiveness come easily or with difficulty to this oc? Can they forgive others? What about themselves?

Obviously there's a lot of nuance here since of COURSE there are things for which Val cannot and will not forgive, but on the whole, Val forgives others relatively easily. The twin NPCs in our game, Bren and Cavvery, are deep within our good graces now, but early in the game were set up to be...somewhat antagonistic for our party. It was for their own survival, but they had guided us multiple time into danger at the behest of their (abusive, dangerous and unbelievably shitty) parents. Val was hesitant to fully throw her trust behind them after that revelation, but her reticence was gone barely a few weeks later. One of Val's big flaws is her gullibility, and she is willing to believe that most people have a good reason for doing whatever it is they do. Prove her right just once or twice, and you can win her over for a good long haul.

She gives...less grace to herself, naturally.

My favorite example is from what I think is like 2018??? in real time and at least several months in-game time. Our monk Amon had gotten his appearance snatched by our Big Bad, who had used it in the course of torturing and killing several of the local townsfolk that we had to go track down and rescue. Val suggested that he speak to one of the girls that we had rescued because she thought it would be good for both of them. Amon expressed pretty strong reticence about how much good that would do, but Val pushed him to try anyway. It ended just as badly as you might expect, and for a tiefling whose whole life had been one bad reaction to his appearance after the other, Amon was pretty upset about the whole thing. He told Val off and then stormed away to get some air.

She has...still not forgiven herself for this, and still handles Amon with a sort of cringing half-flinch when conversations get dicey. Not because he needs the kid gloves, but because she just can't seem to let herself get away with a fuckup. She doesn't feel like she deserves his good regard again, not yet.
