“Please tell me you’re joking,” Aegis said. Part of him knew that he probably should have left it well enough alone. Vicious did like to fight, so was it really so surprising that he’d be doing something relevant to security? Even with that being the case, Aegis still felt like he’d needed to ask.

Oh, sure. He could very easily have just gone back to enjoying the festival and acting like nothing was amiss. The former knight would have been happy to do so under normal circumstances. Still, he couldn’t imagine himself doing so.

Just the look on Vicious's face was kind of work it. Aegis did have to stop himself from laughing at his misfortune, though. Everyone knew he'd already had his own fair share of misfortune laughed at, and honestly? It wouldn't have been right to turn that right back on Vicious.

"Perhaps you found a sour one it's because the strawberries in that patch aren't ripe enough," Aegis suggested. Now, Aegis was no expert on strawberries. He'd only really familiarized himself with crops back in Wigaseya. Still, he wanted to try and help.

"We could try one a bit further down. See if we have any better luck."
