The 2018 Halloween Seasons kicks off the Weekend of Oct 5th as the Doors of BLOOD MANOR Open.

The weekend of Oct 5th New York’s premier haunted attraction opens for frights for the 2018 Halloween season. But don’t go looking for all the monsters, madmen, and murders on 7th Avenue. They’ve relocated the asylum to Tribeca, now at 359 Broadway between Leonard and Franklin Streets. With a fresh coat of paint and a new layout to the maze of scares, Blood Manor offer Halloween thriller seekers a fresh take.

Be advised, the street level entrance to the Manor is dampened by so intense construction going on in front of the building, but there are enough of the residents roaming Broadway so all you need to do is follow the screams.

The new location built in 1853 has been featured as one of NYC’s haunts with Civil War Soldiers ghost sightings that frequent there.  The building also is the former home of one of the earliest photographers in American history Matthew Brady. Known most prominently for his legendary Civil War battlefield photos Matthew’s were displayed to create awareness of Americans killing Americans. The thankful soldiers to Brady have been seen on many occasions on site at the 359 Broadway building.

Brady also photographed multiple well-known people including Abraham Lincoln.  He shot the photo of Lincoln that is displayed on the $5 bill which was taken days before Abe’s assassination. For fifteen successful seasons, BLOOD MANOR has made facing your darkest fears part of NYC’S Halloween season and will be all more real at this new location.

The new designs begins as you descend into the bowls of the Manor, with each step dread mounts as you hear the terrifying sounds of the manor. As you enter, your expectations are useless because there is a new layout to this lair of madness.

The corridors and rooms are laid out skillfully to add a level of disorientation to the experience. When I walked out I briefly forgot how I had gotten back to the street level.

There are several new rooms, while the classic rooms are reconfigured and re-imagined to offer the die-hard fans fresh chills. The horrifying atmosphere is enhanced by a talented cast. Their costumes and makeup run the gambit of completely horrifying to artistically scary. All the costumes and makeup are brought to life as each cast member takes their roles to heart to bring to life unique personalities that fit their environments.  

2018 will introduce their revised timed ticket entry system that will offer attendees more flexibility and shorter lines and wait times. Now you can pick the date you want to visit and the time – one hour time slot. Now you can arrive anytime during your one hour slot, offering you more flexibility and less waiting. For the last two hours of each night, general admission will be on a first come basis. And, if you want to buy tickets ahead of time, on their site the last time slot for each night will be 2 hours in length.

Back by popularity is the “TRADITION R.I.P. EXPRESS ENTRY TICKET”. This year all RIP EXPRESS ENTRY tickets will be valid all night long for the date purchased. Show up anytime you want and have little or no wait! There are a few ways to experience to terror of the Manor. “LIGHTS OUT NIGHTS”, Friday Nov. 2nd and Saturday, Nov. 3rd. Experience Blood Manor with just a glow stick for your journey and minimal lighting as the waiting undead, demons, werewolves and numerous creatures of the night lurk in the darkness. Your travel through the 5,000 square feet of corridors, chambers and hidden places, where the smell of rotting flesh and death permeates the air, the evil that dwells and sustains the Manor can smell your fear, giving him the strength to steal your soul!

In addition to the Manor, the mad scientists in charge, Mike Rodriguez and Jim Lorenzo, have taken their unique brand of mayhem to the Crypts of the Coliseum, located in the depths of the Nassau Coliseum, comprised of approximately 10,000 square feet of themed rooms, corridors, and a labyrinth. After you experience the Crypts, Blood Manor created a Fear Garden located outside on the plaza at NYCB LIVE. This beer garden features a variety of food, drink, and entertainment options complete with a decorative bar, food trucks, Blood Manor character appearances, and live bands and DJ sets.

With all these fear filled Halloween haunts, just make sure you don’t make any horror friends that could follow you home.
