So, for a continious while I found myself too shy to post certain topics here. They are usually not particularly morally controversial or offencive. In fact quite often the topics are really popular in tags, which was kinda the problem.

Let's face it - I'm embarassed to show my thoughts on mainstream-faved characters exactly because they are mainstream and I fear being reduced to a fangirl stereotype in the eyes of the people who know me.

(Also it sorta seems unfair that in the fandoms there are always so many underappreciated themes and characters that I kind of enjoy too and yet instead of drawing obscure fanarts I am mulling on the topics that never have shortage of loving fans.)

Well, that fear is probably irrational, isn't it?

One: my social circle does not include the kind of someones who would significantly drop their opinion on a fellow human being which they knew for years just because of some guilty pleasures. In fact, a lot of them had one obsession that I'm personally not interested in or another and still my overall opinion on them remains unchanged (be it hours of talking about developing relationships with their girlfriend or hours of talking about their crush on William Afton). Why wouldn't it work the other way? ...If worst comes to worst, I will at least have blackmail material too, lol

Two: I recently found myself watching Borat (2006) with geniune interest. In this film a britain-born jew pretending to be a kazakh journalist wrecks chaos in usa to the sound of balkan music bangers (and I'm impressed that to fuck up cyrillic letters on 'kazakhstan worldmaps' so badly the moviemakers felt the need to take a normal cyrillic worldmap, clear half of the words and then fill the wacant space with keyboardsmash-gibberish. That's purposeful.)

That being said: this movie made me remember all of that shit of various levels of insanity that I call 'leisure activities'. I baked off-Paskha-scheduled unholy kulichs with spiced meal crickets instead of dried apricots in them. I catched peacocks on a tourist farm to check on their heart and respiration rate. I cleaned a shrew's skull no bigger than my thumbnail with a single needle at night in a vegetarian yoga-sanatorium. I gladly received an invitation to my friend's house to tea, homemade cake and lamprey dissection. I carved from linden a removable palisman staff tip in the memory of the kingfisher that I gave a lift to rehab center last summer. I played mouth harp and exchanged folktales at Samhain night. I hunted for vipers and grass snakes waking up from their anabiosis in spring and defined their sex with the help of a button probe and a tube of vaseline creme.

The point is, maybe I do need a mainstreamed-fav-character. You know, for some balance.

Reminder to all that it's very bad fandom etiquette to repost someone else's fanart. Unless you have the artist's permission and you are giving them proper credit (naming the artist and linking back to the original art), you should not do this.

Why? Because when you do this, you're receiving likes, comments, and reblogs for art that isn't yours. Meanwhile, the artist, who spent time and effort on their art in hopes people would like it and share their love for it, won't see any of the love that your repost is receiving. This is extremely discouraging for artists, and does often drive them to stop wanting to make fanart at all. I've seen it happen countless times in other fandoms. And honestly, who wouldn't feel discouraged if their art got 5 likes on their page, but 2k likes on someone else's?

And if you see fanart and notice it's reposted (eg. if the handle of the person who posted it isn't the same as the handle in the art's watermark), don't reblog it. Speak up. Let the OP know you don't support reposts of other people's fanart without their consent and knowledge.

Don't forget about fandom etiquette, folks. Don't forget that other fans aren't fanwork machines—they're real people, just like you and me. If you wouldn't like it if someone took your personal creation that you spent time on and reposted it where you can't see it and received tons of attention for it, don't do it to others.

can we talk about how extremely cliquish tumblr used to be around like 2013-2016? like how if you wanted to join a fandom club you would have to apply with a whole ass resume and survey just to be accepted into a certain club? or how we created a whole social hierarchy in different fandoms based on who was the most talented editors? or how people would “grade” each others blogs based on their themes or posts and say if it was a ~good blog~ or not? or whole ass fights that would break out if some users weren’t included in other users follow forever??

TO ANY WRITERS WHO HAVE RECIEVED AN ANON IN THEIR ASKS TALKING ABOUT ME.

i wanted to actually post one final time about this since i’m feeling a lot better, unfortunately this anon just happened to crop up at a bad time.

as a lot of my moots already know, there’s been an anon on my blog and forcing themselves into other peoples safe spaces to spread rumours about me. not only are these rumours absolutely not true, but i also want to apologise to anyone who has been made uncomfortable by those allegations and has been roped into this drama.

this anon in particular has been following me on this app for around a year and a half. one of the points they have made is that i apparently was “chased off of my last blog” which again, is not true. the reason i left / deactivated my last blog was due to being one of the blogs who was doxxed in the hq doxxing discourse last year, that was the only reason because this same anon, was posting my personal information aswell as my ‘nudes’ and face reveals into my moots inboxes.

before the doxxing had taken place, i had 2 hate blogs made around that time [which again i believe to be the same anon / person who doxxed me considering they were made consecutively and seemed to pop up whenever i stopped answering their asks] one of which had began because they felt i wasn’t being inclusive with skin tone in my visuals, which is valid and completely understandable.

when i had received the first ask about it, i made a post about how i wouldn’t be doing anymore [n]sfw visuals until i was able to properly represent everyone and make them feel included, that’s always been the forefront of my blog and i want everyone to be able to enjoy my work. this was at around 7am before i left for work, i never heard again from that anon before my shift. [im not too sure if the anon who raised the issue first was the same one who then went on to make the blogs or if they simply used the ask for their own game, considering they’d already been harassing me in my asks for months]

since i couldn’t check my phone during work i then came back into tumblr after my shift to the anon, who now had a blog, doing the exact same thing as they’re doing now — they said i hadn’t been answering their asks so they took it to dash to tell people that i didn’t care and that i had no intention of changing [not true considering i had addressed it in my post prior to my shift] i then showed screenshots showing that i was at work with timestamps to when their asks were sent compared to when my shift started, but i still apologised and took accountability for it ever being an issue in the first place.

that blog was then deactivated suddenly, before another one came around 2 days later with the same issue, doing the exact same thing — forcing themselves into other people’s safe spaces to spread rumours about me. that blog deactivated and the next day, my personal details, full name + ‘nudes’ were in my moots asks, the blog who ended up exposing these people then was in my asks to offer me help and i deactivated for my own safety.

that is the reason i deactivated, it wasn’t to “start over” or “rebrand” like they’re claiming because i’ve always been emmie on my nsfw blogs, my aesthetic has remained the same as has my writing style. this anon has continued to harass me for almost two years and has been on every blog i have ever had, even before i came to this blog — i wrote tokyo rev sfw hcs for around a month, but they found me on that blog also.

again i apologise for anyone who’s been unfortunate enough to have this anon in their asks, my blog being inclusive is always my top priority when writing and putting out content and will remain one of the most important things to me while i’m here. so i apologise about issues like these being forced into spaces, i won’t be commenting on this again as i’ve already made around 4 posts concerning this anon before, but if anyone has any questions feel free to come into my dm’s.

Thank you all so much for your kind replies to that post where I told I was afraid to make new friends and/or mutuals in the natm fandom! I'm so happy to see firsthand how nice and welcoming people here can be. I hope all these positive experiences I've gotten here will help me heal from all that crap I had to go trough and I don't have to be afraid anymore.
