OUAT Thoughts Pt.75--Episodes 21-22
I have watched through S7E22; there are no spoilers to be had. Spoiler warning for anyone further behind than I am, though.
Kinda satisfying that I got an even 75 on that.
—I have been ugly-crying for about twenty minutes.
—Rumple dying because he gave his heart to Hook is the most poetic, beautiful culmination of their stories I ever couldve hoped for and it’s got me wrecked. And the fact that he did it expecting to never see Belle again makes it even more lovely of him....And the fact that Hook is going to spend the rest of his life walking around with Rumple’s heart inside of him...that’s beyond words for me.
—I’m never going to love like this again. This show is the single best story I have ever consumed and I loved every minute of it, even the parts *looking at you, finale* that emotionally destroyed me. Also, Rumple is the most stunning tragic character I’ve ever met and it is impossible for anyone to ever take his place in my heart.
—That scene where Rumple was fully prepared to kill Rumplestiltskin, to keep any realm from ever having to have him in it, was a pretty poignant personification of self-hatred and it was a really weird, dark kind of beautiful.
—Look at my funky lil lesbians going off to save the world!
—Alice was looking lovely at Regina’s coronation. That blue dress was so pretty.
—I cannot stress enough how much I adore the fact that in the last two episodes of the show, I got to see Rumple and Hook adventuring together as friends.
—Rumple calling Rumplestiltskin “crocodile” was fun.
—I’m rather glad I picked up CaptainCroc as my new hobby, because I think this stuff would’ve hurt me even worse if I wasn’t trying to pick up the little bits of happiness and inspiration between them, and starting to come up with how it goes down in my AU even while it was unfolding in canon. CaptainCroc may be my comfort ship.
—It’s great that the last time we saw Emma, she was wearing her red leather jacket and a full-length dress. V cool.
—Seriously, did they have to make the last shot of the entire show the “Leaving Storybrooke” sign? That is exactly the opposite of what I want to do. I want to live in Storybrooke for the rest of my life and never have to think about being without it again. I want Storybrooke to be a constant presence in my brain and a weighted blanket for my heart and I want to imagine it happy and full of life and with all the characters I adore in it.
—Moving all the realms to one place so nobody can ever be separated again was kind of fun.
—In case you hadn’t guessed, I think I lost a couple more marbles watching those two episodes. I’m also reinforcing my belief that fanfic, headcanons, and fan-life in general is the ultimate form of escapism and comfort and I can’t imagine not turning to it at the end of something great.
—Seeing Henry dark and angry was weird. I’m glad he got out of that without actually killing Regina, because I think would’ve been the end of me. And now he gets an entire family to help him get back on the right path. (Which he appears to be doing, as he’s wearing a sheriff’s badge. Nice to see that’s still in the family.)
—It’s nice that Tiana and Naveen appear to have ended up together.
—In similar news, I also kinda like that wish realm Hook didn’t end up in a romantic relationship. It was his bond with Alice that was important, and even if the writers maybe strayed from that a bit every now and then, it was both nice to see and also, and a parent and child thing, very OUAT.
—It’s great that we got to see Robin ask for Hook’s blessing to marry Alice. I want my girl to have the happiest ending possible, and it looks like she gets it.
—I suddenly realized that the entire time Rumple was in Hyperion Heights, he didn’t seem to have a single problem with his leg, and that’s maybe a little disappointing. Hook had a false hand. Without magic, Rumple still should’ve had a limp, even if made it a bit harder to do detective action sequences.
—Hook and Alice kinda have the same cute ear shape. Iykyk, and if you don’t I’m sad for you.
—Still crying, and it’s taken me about fifteen minutes to write this much. Mostly because I’m crying.
—I like how Hook’s alcoholism is taken seriously in this last season, and in a pretty subtle way. At Flynn’s Barcade, Nick and Henry had beers while Hook had a lemon water (warding off scurvy, I’m sure). In episode 21, Regina and Rumple had a drink and Hook had what I’m assuming is water, but in a mug. (I drink cool/warm temperature beverages in mugs to annoy my kid sister, and let me tell you it’s a fun little way to mess with people. Hook should do it more often.) Also, when Hook and Rumple went to Hook’s old home in the wish realm, the booze there was specifically mentioned in connection with the fact that Hook basically went there to die a slow death. I would give a round of applause for the writers, but the writers have upset me, so I’m withholding the applause. So there.
—As sad as I am, I do love that now nobody has to choose between Storybrooke, their magical realm of origin, or Hyperion Heights *snort*
—I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet, but Killian is such the beautiful name. I love it. I know what I’m naming one of my next two plushies.
—Yes, I hate, despise, and loathe the fact that Rumple is dead, but it really was the perfect ending to his story. And his story was the most amazing one to come out of this show, which is saying a lot. I’m glad he’s with Belle again, because my head knows that’s how he gets his happy ending, even if my heart doesn’t want him to be gone.
—It was nice to see Snow and Charming again. Especially in such pretty clothes.
—Their little round table was the start of my crying. Three generations of heroes, how does it get better?
—Okay, I hated seeing him again, but good on Rumplestiltskin to have Peter Pan in the stocks. He had it coming.
—Very nice that original Hook had a bit of rubber on his hook so he could hold the baby safely.
—Also, very nice to actually see Hook and Emma’s happy ending. And Hope is the best possible name for their baby.
—I don’t stan wish realm Rumplestiltskin, because I already have the Rumple I love, but hearing him say “dearie” again sure was nice.
—Henry was a bit of an arse. He hit Hook over the head to sneak off and do inadvisable things. He basically told Rumple that he didn’t deserve a happy ending. And you know, that was a particularly arse move with his mother, also an ex-villain, standing right behind him. *shakes head*
—As you’re probably tired of hearing, this show is now my favorite story that I’ve ever experienced. One of the things I love most about it is the theme of hope. That’s hard to find sometimes, in our world, but I find that a lot of what these characters say, and what they go through, especially some of the stuff between Regina and Henry in recent episodes, resonates. It makes sense. And it does exactly what Regina wanted to do for wish realm Henry: it shows that if these people can survive, and hold onto hope, despite the bad things that go on in their lives, so can we. And I love that. Realism has its place, but that place is far away from me. I live in reality, and a dose of fantasy and joy and hope is exactly what I need in my stories, and I’ve found it nowhere better than here. The villains redeemed themselves, because the heroes gave them a second chance. Regina and Rumple and Hook got happy endings just like Emma and the Charmings did. Full marks.
—In other news, I have other stuff I have to do tomorrow night, but on Thursday I will be starting the series over. Which means I get to see Rumple A) alive, and 2) with his suit and long hair. Quite dapper. V dashing. Also, he’s gonna say “dearie” a whole lot.

DS9 Garashir SOULMATES AU
An old AU I found in my drafts--a collaboration between me and @spider-transman (just like our DS9 Karaoke AU)
Our story begins with Garak’s exile--ever since Garak first got his soulmate mark at age 18, he’s been trying to hide it from Tain and has taken to wrapping it up in fabric
For context: soul marks in this AU are just the name of your soulmate
At first, Tain just assumed Garak was doing it as a sign of his devotion to Cardassia and apathy towards any other loves, but after Tain presses Garak on it, Tain realises that Garak is trying to hide the mark
Anyways, this all leads to Tain forcefully exposing the mark, only to see it is not a Cardassian name--this means that Garak is inherently disloyal to Cardassia and has betrayed the state
Having essentially committed treason, Tain orders Garak’s execution and Garak escapes to Terok Nor, beginning his exile
Fast forward a few years, Terok Nor is now Deep Space Nine, and Garak spots a hot twink across the station and makes a beeline over there to go squeeze those padded shoulders
The twink tells Garak is name is Dr Bashir, then proceeds to spend the rest of the conversation stuttering awkwardly and batting a plant
Garak doesn’t really think much of the interaction until he gets back to his quarters and realises that the twink that he just flirted outrageously with is his soulmate
Garak doesn’t really want to get involved due to all the emotional baggage he has surrounding his mark, which he still covers up, but decides that since this doctor is his soulmate, he’d probably make a good contact during his exile
This arrangement quickly devolves into lunches in the replimat and intense debates over literature, which leaves Garak frustrated as, from a Cardassian perspective, this is an intense flirtation, but from a human perspective it’s just a friendly chat over lunch--however, he decides not to do much about clarifying this as he isn’t even sure what he wants from Julian anyway
The soul mark begins to flare up from agitation when around Julian, due to Garak having known Julian for so long but not getting any closer--this pain is part of the reason Garak activates the wire, and after the wire breaks Garak just learns to live with it
Eventually Garak finds himself head over heels for this smart, naïve, handsome and altogether irritating doctor, but still decides not to do anything--he feels that Julian deserves better than an ex-Obsidian Order agent who committed atrocities, that Julian would be repulsed by the advances of a middle-aged Cardassian man and that Julian could never love him
Anyways, one day during lunch with Julian in the replimat, a Bajoran visitor on the station comes up and stabs Garak in the arm--he is taken away before he can do any further damage, but the blade has gone straight through Garak’s soul mark
Julian tries to unwrap the fabric to get a better look at the wound, but Garak insists he does not and begins to lash out--however, this physical exertion and the blood loss from the wound means that Garak eventually passes out, and Julian carries him to the infirmary
Julian finally unwraps the fabric and immediately goes on medical autopilot mode--he doesn’t even notice the fact that Garak seems to have his name tattooed on his arm until after the treatment is over
Julian tries to question Garak about it after he wakes up, but Garak, in the midst of an internal meltdown, calmly insists it was just a trick of the light brought on by emotional stress and flees the infirmary
Despite extensive scouring of the station’s limited medical records on Cardassians, Julian comes up empty--seeing as soulmates would be one’s greatest weakness, Cardassia has gone to great care to make sure that no other civilisation ever knew
Exhausted, Julian relates the whole affair to Jadzia over drinks in Quark’s that evening
Jadzia, thinking she’s stumbled across a hilarious bit of gossip about a drunken mistake Garak made one night, immediately goes off and tells Kira, who absolutely freaks out--Kira knows about Cardassian soul marks from her time with the resistance and sprints off to tell Julian
Despite Kira’s best efforts, Julian is passed out stone cold on his bed and won’t wake up--however, Kira decides to camp out outside Julian’s quarters to make sure she can inform him first thing next morning
Anyways, Julian gets the fright of his life almost tripping over Major Kira’s sleeping body on his way to sickbay--this wakes Kira up, who immediately grabs Julian’s ankles and refuses to let go until Julian understands the severity of what is going on
Julian blanches and immediately begins running down the hallway; Kira, satisfied, goes to report back to Dax
Garak catches sight of Julian barrelling in his direction like a madman and Garak just takes off--an epic chase throughout the promenade ensues until Julian eventually corners Garak in Garak’s own shop
Garak tries to speak but Julian cuts him off and tells him that they are having this conversation here and now, but first--Julian quickly grabs Garak before he can make a break for it and just kisses him, right there in the middle of Garak’s shop; their noses bump and it’s all awkward but undeniably right
However, when Garak doesn’t respond Julian hesitantly pulls back, beginning to worry that maybe Kira was fed false information
Meanwhile Garak is there desperately trying to process the events of the past few minutes in his mind without having a complete breakdown
Eventually, Garak’s brain finally kicks in and he pulls Julian back in
After a while Julian breaks the kiss off to let Garak know that they definitely still need to talk about what happened, but Garak just hums in acknowledgement, wrapped up in Bashir’s arms and finally free from the ever-present burn of his neglected soul mark, too content for words

biography
Two young ladies born and raised in Cardiff, Wales, find each other and fall madly in love. They’re both eccentrics, but typically seen in a quirky, delightful way. It’s the 1980s and the world is much bigger than little Wales, and Siân Evans and Efa Llewelyn are both spontaneous, and they decide to move to the United States together, content enough in their love for one another that they don’t foresee finding anyone else.
It’s the 1980s and they can’t get married, but they live as blissfully wed wife and wife regardless, falling into step with the LGBT scene in the Salem-Portland area, finding fast friends in a community that is hurting and desperately needs support during the ongoing AIDS pandemic. They open their doors to those in need of family and visit lonely patients in the hospitals when they can; and they attend funerals when friends’ and community members’ families won’t.
Siân and Efa want to become parents, which isn’t exactly easy for two lesbians in the 1980s; but the plan becomes smoother when a friend, a gay man by the name of Jon Geller, volunteers to help. He’s lost his own partner to the pandemic but has found some comfort in his friends and community in the past few years since. He is not expecting custodial rights, but would like to be in the child’s life in some capacity. When an agreement is reached, the old “turkey baster” method is used so that Siân may carry the baby, the little blessing that would become Brynmor Taliesin.
Being born to foreign lesbians who were bound in spirit by a neopagan ceremony and who regularly attend funerals of friends and strangers alike mean that Brynmor isn’t really expected to be a totally normal kid. He’s happy and spirited and social, and very very brave. The small baby, who grows to be a small child, is a light in many people’s lives who have spent so much time mourning lives lost. He has many aunts and uncles, including his “Uncle” Jon who can’t be prouder of him. His moms also emphasize the importance of culture and keeping it alive, speaking Welsh in the home and peppering in some beliefs of Celtic neopaganism.
The dust settles around the pandemic by the mid-to-late 1990s, and that’s when Siân and Efa decide to pack up their little family and move elsewhere in the United States. Having always been eccentrics, they are charmed by the idea around Roswell; and Bryn is 9 when they move in. He’s already always been one of the weird kids just for having two moms and no dad in a time when it isn’t very common; but he’s also just kind of weird in his own ways. He has a strong stomach and is willing to complete dares without much cajoling, and is always happy to share his answers and ideas in class. He’s seen as strange, but his sense of humor is enough to prevent many kids from drawing away.
In middle school, Bryn adopts a darker, gothic style that’s becoming more popular around the time. He doesn’t go so far as to wear makeup, but he begins to favor wearing lots of dark clothes. His small stature is further diminished by him wearing so much black, a color that people wear to look slimmer, a color people avoid painting rooms because it makes the room looks smaller. In spite of his obvious style, he’s never particularly anti-social or sullen; he maintains a great sense of humor, even if it is a bit dark at times, and doesn’t really shy away from social situations. Teenagers are mean and he’s called creepy many times to his face, among a slew of other harsh names; but he takes them in stride, even enjoying some of the epithets he hears. He’ll always have his sense of humor.
During high school, the ‘what do you want to do with your life?’ deadline approaches quicker than Bryn would like, as he’s never put much thought into it. His moms have been stable pillars in the community, working with charities and non-profits, and he doesn’t know if he necessarily wants a part of that. He applies to the Eastern New Mexico University campus in Roswell, the local community college, just to do something until he knows what to do with his adult life. When he begins the Associate of Arts in Business Administration program at ENMUR, he picks up a job at Eternal Rest Funeral Home. He thinks it’s just a job, but it turns out to save his life. It’s also around the time that he graduates high school, that his non-biological mom, Efa, is permitted to adopt her son as the second parent. In celebration, Bryn changes his name legally to reflect it, tacking on Llewellyn onto the formerly lonely Evans
Initially, only being a high school graduate at the time, there isn’t much Bryn can do; but he is involved with transporting bodies, being a gofer around the home, and other tasks like being a stand-in pallbearer. Quickly he becomes interested in the death industry. He’s always had a strong stomach, and being around the deceased--in many stages of decomp--doesn’t particularly bother him. The owner, Harvey Goodwin, takes the young man under his wing after Bryn proves himself to be a reliable employee; and old Harv shows him the ins and outs of the actual planning, and even gets him involved in the embalming process where possible. Also important is seeing the balance between the decedent’s wishes for their rites, versus what the decedent’s family insisted upon. Bryn’s moms still attend the funerals of gay and trans decedents--some don’t have families around, others have families that don’t respect them--so some of the conflicts in the meeting rooms at the funeral home hit him somewhere deep.
By the time he’s done with his business admin degree, Bryn is thinking about going to mortuary school himself. His moms are initially a little surprised, but then they remember how close the young man has been to death his entire life. Mr. Goodwin is extremely encouraging, seeing Bryn as his new protegee. When the decision is made that he’ll go, Bryn has to make the temporary move to Orange County, California, to go to the school of his choice--it’s known in the industry that no mortuary school is really “better” than another, that they all simply prepare you to pass a test to get yourself licensed. He passes GO, collects $200 in the form of another associate’s degree, and eventually finds himself with a bachelor’s degree, hoping to be duly prepared to impress.
Mr. Harvey Goodwin is very proud to see his protegee return for good with the right kind of training done, and gives the 25-year-old Bryn plenty of responsibility with an actual funeral director role at the funeral home. It’s initially overwhelming, but not for very long. Bryn has learned to reel in his sense of humor with guests and families and be respectful at the right times. In a small town there aren’t many options when you are looking to memorialize a loved one who has passed away, but regardless it’s still important to offer exceptional service to make the grieving process go a little smoother.
The old boss, Mr. Goodwin, becomes extremely ill, placing many duties in the hands of Bryn, whom he deeply trusts, while he’s busy being treated for his illness. In the process, the old man decides to update his will. His own living family have never been extremely invested in keeping the funeral home afloat as a family business, as it seems they would sell it to a large corporation. The only ones who seem to care about keeping it in the family aren’t equipped to run the place. The next best thing--or really, the best option--is very clearly Bryn. And so, at age 32, ownership of the establishment is given to Bryn, which is extremely bothersome to much of Mr. Goodwin’s family. The kid isn’t one of us! they say; and the old man, staying steadfast even through his weakness says, He isn’t a kid, he’s family to me and my best asset.
That little associate’s degree in business admin turns out to be a little helpful. Harvey Goodwin soon passes away, and Brynmor T. Evans-Llewellyn becomes the big boss in full capacity, beginning with embalming his late boss himself and making sure the funeral goes smoothly--even if old Harv’s family doesn’t want him there. As the boss, and as a funeral director in his own right, Bryn remains firm in respecting the wishes and identity of decedents. Gay decedents must have their spouses identified as such; trans decedents must be presented as their true gender; and every service must be welcoming towards decedents’ found families.
The stoic and respectful figure present to plan and direct funerals becomes the embalmer in the very back room, decked in scrubs--usually black--as he sings along to tunes by Depeche Mode, The Smiths, The Cure, Tears For Fears, and more, often singing directly to the body he’s preparing, and talking to them like they’re just a person listening. He likes to drink--he has a high tolerance--and is known to make an appearance at Planet 7 on occasion, as he can be real fun at parties. There’s an apartment above the funeral home; and though Bryn lives in his own house, the apartment is handy sometimes when he’s been ‘on call’ and busy through the night. He often smells somewhat strongly of cologne, and burns candles and incense all the time at home, to help get the ‘smells’ out of his nose. His occupation is frightening and/or morbid to many so it’s been difficult to settle down with a long-term partner like his moms want him to do.

Top 10 Badass Female Characters in Fire Emblem Fates (in my opinion)
10- Reina/Peri
Okay so the reason why there's two people in this slot is because they're literally the same archetype. They love blood and killing and violence and blah blah blah, BUT ALSO they have at least some levels of depth and complexity to their character to keep them from being boring one note death machines. Problem is Reina doesn't have any supports with anyone so you don't get to know much more about her, but she protected your mom. Peri protects your older brother. Anyone who keeps your family safe is definitely badass.
9- Kagero
Ah Kagero. You get captured all the freakin time but that's not your fault. You're still the best dread fighter hands down, and definitely my favorite ninja (Kaze is too fragile and Saizo is too slow and Soleil is unavailable to a path). Plus she's an artist and while she may not be the best painter she still loves it and enjoys her hobby. She's a loyal servant and an even more loyal friend, and would put her own life on the line to protect your brother.
8- Anna
Can't fault a girl for war profiteering. Strong independent woman don't need no man, been around the block for centuries and across kingdoms, crack shot with a bow, gold farmer, feisty redhead, runs circles around the L crew, I could go on. She's always on my team and is supported by MC for dem stats and the unity ability in pretty sure procs make a killing but idk. Regardless she's still gr9.
7- Arete
She gets killed like four times before finally going down, and that first time was fairly heroic honestly. Definitely one of the most important people in regards to lore.
6- Camilla
What list would be complete without the best sister??? No not because of her giant tiddies (awesome to look at they may be) or the giant ass window (also awesome to look at) or even the weird incest thing going on (I guess from a Japanese lens that's awesome too but eeehhh) but because she's actually a great combat unit especially if she spends a couple levels as a hero getting those skills. Axes AND magic AND an attack buff means she should always be out on the field. She may be insane and has a lust for blood rivaling Peri, but she's a good sister, a good ruler, and a good unit.
5- Soleil
Oh yes. FUCKING SUPERB YOU FUNKY LITTLE LESBIAN! She's a big glass cannon so I always make her a master ninja and god is she a good ninja. She never gives up even in the face of innumerable odds, she's got great stats all depending on who her mom is, she's SUPER FUCKING GAY FOR GIRLS, oh yeah and she's a teenager leading a band of mercenaries; how fucking cool is that?
4- Rinkah
Stomp on me like you stomp on enemies. Oni savages are like fighters with better stats and both blacksmiths and chieftains have some top notch skills and she's the only one in the game who can do that naturally. She's an adamantly staunch advocate for her people, and makes leaps and bounds of character development through her supports. She's also clearly the most visibly sculpted lady sans for maybe Effie and anyone packing that much solid muscle has got to be pretty fucking awesome.
3- Hinoka
Real talk tho Hinoka is the actual best sister slash mom. Proof? Setsuna and Azama are both still alive somehow. The providence that protects them from traps and getting choked to death has got to be the pegasus knight. She's the second best female offensive lance user in the game (excluding knight/cavalier/merchant/basara/etc who have different roles than pure adjacent physical lance-based dps), especially if she A+'s either Camilla or Setsuna and S's either Xander or Silas. She's got enough variety to her that I feel the Lucina seal would simply be wasted on her. My only complaint is that without reclassify she kinda sucks but hey, just buy a freakin heart seal.
2- Scarlet
VIVA LA REVOLUCION! Tragic you can only use her in one path. I romanced her in my very first playthrough to give stats to my Kana (and also because I knew it would be my only chance to really use her). She deserves so much better than to just be fridge stuffing to give Ryoma that manpain. Dammit Japan. At least she's got the coolest armor design.
HONORABLE MENTIONS TIME!
Azura: the fucking queen of Valla who carries the plot on her shoulders. literally the most important person in canon. deserves better.
Felicia: accidental badassery still counts, right? slap on a flame shuriken and watch heads roll.
Hana: best samurai. like lon'qu but actually with personality. rough and abrasive but has a heart of gold.
Beruka: cold blooded contract killer trying to learn how to feel. similar to Reina/Peri but she doesn't kill for fun, she kills to survive. she's just really good at it.
Lilith: f
Cassita: she bakes you cookies. SHE. BAKES. YOU. COOKIES. okay. when will your fave ever? except for camilla, she baked you cookies too, but camilla has crippling depression, mommy issues, a whole lotta weird borderline incest stuff going on (even though you're adopted so it's okay according to japan... oh, who am I kidding, I fucked leo to have dragon forrest and because FOLGERS COFFEE COMMERCIAL). anyway. cassita only knows that you're armed, dangerous, here to kill the king, and once knew her darling elise, but she shelters your entire fucking army and then BAKES. YOU. NICE HOT FRESH CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. bless her big beautiful heart. you can be badass without kicking someone's ass.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
1- Oboro
fuck, man, she is just the best. best outfit, best stats, best combat ability, best class, and has a personality and hobbies and interests and likes and dislikes and flaws... I literally cried a little bit when I had to kill her in conquest. she is my favorite character in the whole game and she just kicks so much ass. I can't adequately put it into words, it's just... agh, she's great. 10/10

2. Favourite protagonist?
i’m gunna be real, i like playing as hajime a lot plus theres some moments where he’s being ridiculous and you’re powerless to stop it so you’re just there, face in your hands, losing your shit snickering.
3. Favourite antagonistic character?
points at my url gently...i know i’m an izuru kinnie but i think he has a lot of nuance espec cause he can fit an antagonist role while still being generally neutral on the havoc he wreaks
4. Favourite character?
i’m very bad at choosing but taka was my first fave and the first character i ever grew attached to that was ripped from me so i’m gonna say taka
5. Best girl?
hina, sakura, ibuki, peko, miu!!! i think my “type” is the girls who are either super stoic or super energetic pffft
6. Best boy?
i already talked abt taka earlier so kazuichi and leon are my beloved weenies
7. Favourite class trial from all the games?
the last class trial in the first game where you as makoto get to earn the title ultimate hope and the mastermind is finally revealed after the 20+ hours of grief and struggle you’ve just been put through and you get that satisfying ending of the mastermind paying for their crimes and everyone getting to go free is just...so good and so climactic i adore it
8. Least favourite character?
if i was in a room and my choices were to delete hifumi yamada from existence and die or survive while having hifumi yamada remain in this world i would choose to sacrifice myself
9. Least favourite class trial?
probably the second one in the first game, because it had all the things i was upset with. the way the genocide jack/jill and toko situation was handled was awful even with it taken in consideration that the game usually uses very trope-y characters, and the whooole thing with chihiro is uncomfortable for the entire trial, and then it all ends with an execution where if you think about it too much it makes your stomach whirl
10. What would be your Ultimate Title?
hmmm something like ultimate tarot card reader or ultimate divination/psychic maybe!!!
15. Your absolute OTP?
oh god i ship everything...i like komahina a lot though even tho i have another handful of ships for hajime
16. Your absolute BROTP?
fuyuhiko and nagito obviously
17. Do you have an OT3? Which one?
none that i can think of rn even tho i’m definitely open to a lot of them...i support gundham dating both sonia and kazuichi while sonia and kazuichi are best friends tho
18. Favourite rare ship?
i’m rly fond of fuyuhiko/nekomaru [hikomaru???] and kamuegi
19. Who do you think is an underrated character?
i feel like toko doesn’t get nearly enough love oh my gosh...i see her dismissed as an accessory to byakuya or “the girl w the serial killer” so often and it makes me so upset...also mukuro generally gets outright ignored even though there’s a lot to her
20.  Who do you think is an overrated character?
i feel like i see a lot of stuff for mikan everywhere??? but i...don’t like her that much. her personality kinda feels like the same thing all the time, under the despair disease she feels like junko 2 electric boogaloo or tsumugi the squeakquel, and her execution was underwhelming. and she also killed ibuki, the best gal :(
26. Favourite execution?
oh god definitely leon’s. the first execution of the first game and it goes hard as hell. it’s one of the few if only times you see red blood in the game, he goes out kicking and screaming in a way that you have to feel sorry for him. it’s an unbelievable way to start off the game and really encapsulates all of the wild ride danganronpa is gonna put you in for.
27. Least favourite execution?
as i said before, mikan’s was...underwhelming. as the ultimate nurse who spent her life being a doormat only to kill out of love, there’s an amazing amount of executions and ideas that would have been full of nuance and really interesting but instead she just gets blasted into fucking orbit
28. Favourite unused execution?
oh god i love byakuya’s unused execution because it’s one of those executions that focuses less on the character’s talent and more on the character’s fear. when you realize what byakuya’s future could have been, pretty much complete estrangement from the family and having to build up everything on his own with the fear of poverty constantly looming.
plus the fact that he fights because he could have condemned his half-siblings to that fate only for he, himself, to lose in a killing game and die thinking he was a disgrace is so painful. not to mention the execution itself is a slow and painful death.
it’s so brutal, so focused on breaking every fear and effort of the character, that i think it’s one of those executions that would come to mind whenever you wanted a picture definition for “despair”.
29. Which character should survived in your opinion?
leon kuwata should have lived...he was talented but he was still a normal-ish boy who couldve kept everyone at their wits in the killing game by reminding them what was waiting for them out there. lots of others but i’ve been thinking of baseball husband lately
31. Is there a character you think who shouldn’t have survived but did?
i love yasuhiro that weed smoking boy but he was too dumb to live
32. Least favourite protagonist?
uhhh hmmm i like all of them but kaede had the least screentime so she’s a protagonist where her personality isn’t 100% crystal-clear so. i GUESS
33. Character with the best clothing?
i want chiaki’s hoodie and backpack and LOOK more than i want to breathe oxygen. junko also has a fucking aesthetic
37. Favourite minor character?
taichi fujisaki i guess??? programmer dad
45. Unpopular opinion?
i dunno what other people think of this because i haven’t heard anything about it, but the closing argument minigame was better in sdr1
46. Unpopular headcanon?
i think genocide jack/jill is nonbinary but i’ve never seen anybody else who has the same headcanon
47. A headcanon you have about a character?
one of my long-time headcanons is that makoto is trans...yeet
48. Favourite OST?
danganronpa 2 has bop after bop. miss monomi’s practice lesson? bop. all the execution themes? bops. ikoroshia and ekoroshia? bops. i am constantly jamming the fuck out in this game
51. Character you thought you were gonna dislike but loved in the end?
i thought i was always gonna hate hiyoko and yeah she does have flaws but i actually like her a lot more than i used to
52. Character you thought you would like but disliked in the end?
thought korekiyo was gonna be a cool dude who was a lil weird and emo but still fun. boy was i wrong. im stealing him from spiky chunky until they learn to stop it
59. Favourite moment?
again, the final trial in the first game is fucking amazing, but also the final trial in the second game with hajime and chiaki plus all the izuru stuff and all the messages there r just. good as hell aaah
60. Saddest moment?
all of chapter 2 in sdr2 was painful. mahiru, who was a force of good, dies, the trial is difficult, the twilight syndrome murder case is terrifying, hiyoko is mourning and you have to spit it right back in her face for awhile that she’s the prime suspect...
and then the only reward you get for finding the real killer is feeling guilty as the tears run and then your final reward is getting to watch as one of your friends dies while the other gets mortally injured and barely survives and then only a bit of gametime later attempts suicide in front of you. it is blow after blow w/o breaks
63. Describe Kyoko Kirigiri in 3 words!
lovely detective lady
67. Which character would you never want to meet in real life?
hifumi because i would be wearing an anime tshirt cause im a fucking weeb and then he’d be an incel while i suffered just trying to buy a lifetime supply of panda candy from hot topic
68. Which character would you like to meet in real life?
kazuichi cause he seems p chill and like the type of person you could just hang out with or have a chat with casually and not have to worry about first impressions and stuff like that
69. Choose one character which you would take with you on a trip.
70. Character you would have a sleepover with?
chiaki because we’re both super sleepy but we could also play a bunch of games together and then pass out together with a bunch of snacks
71. Character you can relate to?
sorry to be kinnie on main but izuru, i relate to that feeling of always excelling at everything you do and as a result being constantly bored, so whether what happens is good or bad doesn’t matter so long as it’s interesting
72. Character you can relate to but you dislike them?
kokichi, again being kinnie on main but while i relate i dislike it because it’s a reminder of my tendency to lie to others and to myself for any number of purposes
73. Character who deserved better?
[sniffles softly] taka. also keebo. toko too tbh
81. Could you be the Ultimate Lucky Student?
probably??? my luck varies from being unbelievably good and unbelievably bad so hey
97. Overrated ship which is your NOTP?
toko/byakuya for sure. i don’t like the it(tm)
99. Your absolute NOTP?
junko being shipped with anyone but especially with the sdr2 cast because it is gross. let the sdr2 cast do the right thing and get to pull a knife on junko instead
100. Opinion on all the Protagonists!
makoto: a boy who has a mouth and must scream. he’s not having a good time but hes trying his best
hajime: a good, refined boy. he knows how to say and spell big words like antidisestablishmentarianism, or however that goddamn word is spelled. the most paranoid boy
komaru: a good gal, a lil anxious but very strong and ready to kick ass. a funky little lesbian
toko: a blessed gal who needs more appreciation. her time as a protagonist is extremely gay, meaning she is also a funky little lesbian.
kaede: she doesn’t have much screen time but i appreciate her. she’s nice to people and confident whereas everyone else in this series is nervous
shuichi: nervous and emo, shuichi truly represents teenage america in the years 2007-2012, possibly 2013. i adore him

2. Favourite Protagonist? id die for both makoto and shuichi. fuck you
3. Favourite antagonistic character? does mukuro count??? idk which characters would count but both junko and tsumugi can perish so im gonna say mukuro counts. tho aesthetic wise junko is fucking rocking it but that goes without saying
4. Favourite character? MNGHHHHHHHHHGHHGHG
5. Best girl? FUCK i cant pick so im going one from each game and you cant stop me. dr1: kyoko. dr2: chiaki (wow who could have seen that one coming huh). drv3: tenko
6. Best boy? once again one from each, dr1: makoto. dr2: fuck. nagito but gundham is a close second. drv3: FUCK. threeway tie between kaito kiibo and gonta
9. Least favourite class trial? assuming were talking just abt trials and not executions... gontas fucking SUCKED and i HATED IT spike chunsoft can PERISH for making that happen
15. Your absolute OTP? GHGHHGHG I CANT JUST PICK ONE. komahina is EXTREMELY good but im just yknow. slightly biased on that. sakura/hina is also blessed as fuck and i also secretly love chihiro/chiaki. and ofc toko/komaru is also very good. i also really like peko/ibuki and nekomaru/akane (my one straight ship in like, the entire series lmao) and id fucking die for tenko/himiko and kaito/shuichi. also dont @ me for homestuck on sideblog but kaito maki and shuichi kaede are canon and theres nothing anyone can do about it. i have other ships but this is already long enough as is so those are my faves. yeet
26. Favourite execution? can i say junkos? if not hers tho then uhhhh probably celestes just bc it was aesthetic as fuck. also kirumis made me feel a LOT of things and cry a lot but goddamn if it wasnt well put together
39. Smartest murder plan? man there were, a fucking LOT of really smart ones idk if i can just pick one. i guess im probably gonna go with kaito and kokichis? since im p sure that was the only one where monokuma himself didnt even know who the culprit was
45. Unpopular opinion? chihiro trans girl and spike chunsoft handled that whole thing in literally the worst possible way ESPECIALLY her being forcibly outed after her fucking death (IDC IF IT WAS NECESSARY TO FIND THE KILLER) and also the whole thing with monokuma being ‘ah yes i knew the whole time!!! thats why i gave [her] a guys handbook and the room without the locked bathroom door etc etc etc’
47. A headcanon you have about a character? me with my many autistic headcanons scrolling through the list of characters trying to pick just one (1) to list for this ask:
51. Character you thought you were gonna dislike but loved in the end? HONESTLY??? OUMA. also byakuya to a lesser degree
59. Favourite moment? HGHGHHGHGHGHH PERISH FOR MAKIN G ME CHOOSE. okay. okay i love the like, moment in dr1 and 2 where u have to like. build up hope and then shoot everyone with it its legitimately GREAT and makes me super emotional. i also loved in despair girls when they gave komaru a whole line JUST so she could say ‘NO THATS WRONG’ and also when her and toko fuckin. attacked together and LITERALLY said they found hope to go on in each other
60. Saddest moment? can i uhhhhhh count dr3 in this bc if so, hoo boy howdy do i sure have one that made me cry for like an hour, take one guess what that was,
99. Your absolute NOTP? mmmmmm toko/byakuya. 1. its terrible and unhealthy on both sides 2. theyre gay/lesbian solidarity. you fools. you utter imbeciles
100. Opinion on all the Protagonists!
-makoto: baby boy. baby. would die for without hesitation.
-hajime: thats me!
-kaede: would die for her too and i wish shed gotten more screentime but i guess it really do be like that sometimes. at least she had her free time events in salmon mode
-shuichi: also would die for, needs to have more confidence in himself and his abilities
-counting komaru in this bc i love her: i love her. fucking superb you funky little lesbian
