i am terrified to start reading "place your bets on winning hats" because it sounds. Very Painful. so i'm appreciating it from afar and i want to say i love your art. and your writing. and your aus. maybe one day i will even be brave enough to read pybowh /silly

I will say that while it does get intense in chapter 7, it's otherwise not that worse than canon's level of horror and unease. I ensured there was a good amount of levity throughout the fic.

(you can also skip chapter 7 as i put a summary at the end of the chapter)

Also, as a side note, while Siffirn is Dead they're haunting Loop in a semi-supportive manner. The fic hasn't dived too deeply into how Siffrin feels about Loop yet but the general vibe is "I'm not happy it happened, but it did, and I want you to be happy in place of me" which is tragic but Siffrin is still very much around. in a way, I kinda view it as a switch in roles from canon. One has to be a ghost.

(The word "stardust" is censored and replaces the name Siffrin; it's Loop's way of coping with taking Siffirn's place early on in the story.)

So like, its a slow burn but there's good comedic moments like these. Granted, with how intense ch 7 is, those moments are rare atm but I'm sure once Loop (eventually) recovers more the comedy will return

Comedy is important in stories! I can't stand a 24/7 suffering story. Levity is needed!

That said, I totally understand if someone can't stomach the fic. I really am not kidding about chapter 7's content, but it's probably the worst the fic will ever get content-wise.

Opinion: This fic is a classic. My first UlquiHime fic actually. It’s what got me into UlquiHime and while it might be nostalgia talking I think it’s amazing. The characterization feels real you know. It makes sense for the circumstances. It’s kinda a popcorn fic but it does have some plot that works via canon plot for the Aizen Villain Arc but with the All Human AU twist.
