I don't know how I'm going to be a mom. I have to relearn how to do the most basic of functions and they expect me to take care of a baby? A baby that's been alive for weeks without its mother?
I can never repay Jake for this. But I can try.

I'm just going to say that I'm sorry and I am doing replies. I'm just not posting them until they're all done so nobody feels left out. I'm busy as hell and doing the best that I can and I apologize. I'm not gone, I swear. I know I owe to several of you and a starter to goldenplaywright and if they're not all done by today. It'll be tomorrow at the latest.
It won't be so bad when I don't have to take care of someone else's pets and what not.
also, I don't get why other Clare's follow me. O_O

Take Care || Jimogen
Imogen's due date has finally arrived and things quickly go from bad to worse.
Imogenlaid on the couch, unable to do anything as her contractions rocked through her. This was her fault. If something was wrong with the baby, if something happened, it was her fault. It was astounding to her that she could miraculously be pregnant, carry it to full term, only to have this happen. Was this her punishment for being cruel in high school? Imogen shook her head, trying to remain positive while she waited for Jake to get home. The stress of it all was only making things a thousand times worse, and it wouldn't help anyone.
Jake: ran out of his job and towards his car and headed home. When Imogen told him she was bleeding and had contractions, Jake felt his nerves kick into full gear. This wasn't supposed to happen. It was a miracle itself that Imogen had gotten pregnant in the first place but it wasn't supposed to be this way. Once Jake arrived at their place, he got out of the car and headed inside. Seeing Imogen on the couch and all the blood that was around her made him cringe. ''Come on, let's go. Now.''
Imogen glanced up at the sound of the door opening, breathing a sigh of relief upon seeing Jake walking through the door. He didn't take as long as she thought he would, thankfully. Reaching for his hand, Imogen did her best to stand up, wobbling as she did. "I'm...dizzy," she murmured, leaning against him for support. She took one look at the couch in horror, worried that he would be upset that she ruined their newest piece of furniture. "I got it all dirty." Imogen looked at Jake, her eyes filled to the brim with tears, hoping he knew how to fix her.
Jake: Helped Imogen stand up from the couch and took a hold of her. Rolling his eyes at her, Jake looked at Imogen. ‘’Fuck it. That doesn’t matter now.’’ He said. ‘’Let’s just get you to the hospital, okay?’’ Helping Imogen walk out of their place and towards his truck, Jake quickly drove towards the hospital, hoping for the best but fearing the worst at the sight of the blood he’d seen. Once they arrived, Jake parked by the emergency entrance and looked at Imogen. ‘’You’re going to be fine, okay? Both of you. I promise.’’
Imogen frowned at Jake's bad language, but she was too weak to make a snarky comment back at him. Following him out to the car, Imogen shielded her eyes from the sunlight, feeling nauseated as soon as she was standing directly in it. "Jake, stop," she said, putting her hand up. Imogen hadn't been able to eat since the night before and instead stood there, dry heaving outside of Jake's car, blood staining her pants. She made her way to the truck, grabbing anything she could to sit on as to not get any blood on Jake's seats, sitting in silence as they drove. He sounded so sure of himself, so calm, and she couldn't understand why - Imogen was bleeding profusely, and Jake managed to remain calm. As she was seated in a wheelchair, Imogen tugged on Jake's hand, looking at him. "Are you high?"
Jake: Once Jake had found a nurse and explained to her what had happened with Imogen, he made his way back towards the truck to get Imogen seated in a wheelchair. When Imogen was seated in a wheelchair, Jake could feel her pulling his hand and he looked at her. ‘’No, I’m not.’’ He laughed. ‘’/But I’m going to need a joint and a beer after this./’’ he thought. ‘’One of us has to remain calm for the sake of the other. Trust me, internally I am freaking out but me showing it isn’t going to help so…’’ he trailed off, not finishing his sentence. ‘’Let’s just get you inside so they can help you.’’
Imogen held onto Jake's hand, gripping it as tightly as she could. The doctors and nurses were making a fuss over her, only serving to stress her out even further. They quickly rushed her off to the maternity ward, lifting her from the wheelchair to one of the beds. "She's lost a lot of blood," the doctor noted, making Imogen's nausea return. "Imogen, we need to take action quickly...we're going to do an ultra sound and see where the baby is. Odds are, you are going to need a C-Section." Imogen nodded, her fingers growing clammy with every passing moment. The prognosis didn't seem good, not for her or Grace.
Jake: Everything seemed like a blur to Jake once they were inside the hospital. As soon as they reached the maternity ward and Imogen was hoisted onto one of the beds, Jake could faintly hear the sound of the doctor talking and saying what was happening. He couldn’t register it. No matter how hard Jake tried to, he couldn’t register the doctor’s words. ‘’Fuck.’’ He whispered, as he felt Imogen tightly grip his hand, which somehow snapped him back to reality. Looking down at his girlfriend, Jake faintly smiled at her and looked at the doctor. ‘’Do whatever you need to do. Just make sure they’re both okay.’’
Imogen refused to let go of Jake's hand, needing to feel him beside her to quell her fears. As the doctor poured the freezing cold gel onto her belly, she grimaced underneath it and kept her eyes glued to the screen. "Your placenta is far too low, Imogen. Grace...she's suffering from your blood loss. We don't have a time to waste, we need to get you prepped for surgery immediately." Imogen shot Jake a cautious look, slowly registering what this all meant for them. "Will she be okay?" she asked, no longer caring about her own health.
Jake: ‘’It’s okay, I’m here. I’m not leaving.’’ Jake said as he looked at Imogen. Hearing the doctor speak and saying what was wrong with Grace, Jake glanced down at Imogen and then back at the screen. Hearing Imogen’s words pained him. He knew that this was about Grace but to him, they both needed to be okay. ‘’Will they both be okay?’’ Jake asked not even bothering to look at Imogen, letting his own selfishness shine through.
Imogen didn't bother listening for a response, she felt numb to the whole ordeal. They might lose her. Her miracle. She didn't catch the doctor's grim look at Jake, the doctor silently letting him know that they may not be able to save the both of them. "Jake will...he's going to be there, right? Holding my hands? I want him holding my hand when I wake up," she said weakly, doing her best to stay positive about the whole ordeal. The nurses offered Imogen a small smile and helped her into a hospital gown, getting her body sterile and prepped for surgery. While he prepared himself, the doctor motioned for Jake to join him outside, so he could discuss the details of the operation. "She's going to need a blood transfusion, Imogen. And we're going to have to give her a dose of pentobarbital. It will essentially leave her comatose, anywhere from a few hours to a few days, just to get her blood stabilized. She'll have to be hospitalized for some time, so we can make sure her body isn't rejecting the blood and she heals properly. "
Jake: Caught the doctor’s reaction as Jake asked if both Imogen and Grace were going to be okay. ‘’I’m not going anywhere, Moreno. I’ll be there when you wake up and with our little girl.’’ Jake said as he smiled at her. As Imogen was being taken care of by the nurses and getting ready for the surgery, Jake caught the doctor’s motion to follow him outside for a quick second and followed suit. When the doctor told him everything, Jake sighed heavily and looked back towards the room and Imogen. ‘’You have my permission to do whatever you need to do to save her and Grace. Just don’t tell Imogen anything. But whatever you need to do… Just make sure both my girls are okay, doctor. That’s all I’m asking for.’’
Imogen glanced around the room, needing Jake back before they started putting any needles in her. Outside of the room, the doctor nodded at Jake and walked back towards his office, leaving time for Jake to say goodbye to his wife. Even though Imogen's voice was weakened, she still called out for Jake, needing him to come back. "Imogen, we're going to have you hooked to the IV, okay? And anything we'll administer will go through it, you won't have any extra needles other than the epidural, okay?" the nurse explained to a worried Imogen.
Jake: After talking to the doctor and knowing what was going to happen, Jake took a few seconds to compose himself and made his way back towards Imogen and stood next to her as the nurses set up the IV and anything else that was needed. Grabbing her hand again, Jake pressed his forehead against Imogen’s. ‘’You’re going to be fine, okay? They’re going to make sure you’re both safe and okay.’’ Jake whispered. ‘’I love you, Moreno and I’ll be here when you get back.’’
Imogen did her best to not cry as the nurses hooked her up to the IV, giving her a strong dosage of iron and anxiety medication. Even as they put the tube down her throat, she stayed calm, though she was sure the anxiety medication was more the culprit for that. It wasn't until Jake told her that he loved her that she began to panic. She couldn't speak with the feeding tube in her mouth, so she was unable to let Jake know that she loved him back. 'This is it,' she realized. This may very well be the last time she saw Jake and she wanted to hold on to every minute. As she felt the sedatives take over, Imogen kept her eyes on Jake's, watching until her world faded into darkness.
