5.       5 tv shows that cheer you up

Well, I’m currently going through the original Sailor Moon (1992) TV show right now, and its cheering me up quite a bit. Or making me really nostalgic. Its like a really happy sadness. It’s like I’m going to the mall when I was five, which was awesome cuz it was big and pretty, but I look back and remember “oh yeah, this is the reason the world sucks now.” This is bad metaphor. But, YAY Gay Villains!

Let’s see, other shows that make me happy….

Level E makes me happy, but it is a deeply deeply flawed show. Like, I hate just about every ending, yet, I love that main character, WHO WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING YET THE SHOW PUNISHES.

Thunderbolt Fantasy makes me EXTREMELY happy. In the age of streaming, I watched that show week to week and then watched it all over again, and then watch it again to prep for the new season. GODDAMN I love that show.

The new Harley Quinn show made me pretty happy. Too much blood for my taste, but the writing was so good. Gotta look at it with a critical eye though, it does not treat its Jewish characters that well, but there are multiple Jewish writers on the show itself. So, idk.

Versailles made me happy, because I used to watch it with my friend. But then they cut the gay subplot with Phillippe and turned him into a cop so I’m like ????? You just got rid of the best thing in this show.

The Netflix Castlevania series makes me SO HAPPY!! Again, so much blood, but I guess that just comes with the territory when dealing with vampires. But the treatment of Alucard makes me unhappy.

That’s more than five, and I could still keep going. I love talking about cartoons. (though Versailles isn’t a cartoon)

 18.       a book series you can always escape in

Hmm, I don’t read a lot of books. Well, I don’t read a lot of fiction books. My room is so full of books, they are taking over. But they are mostly non-fiction. I also don’t read series, like at all. If a story is more than one book, I just can’t. Though there was a series that I quite enjoyed ‘Blood and Feathers” by Lou Morgan. This was about the time Twilight just came out, so this is kind of a young adult romance, except with angels and demons. Though, the main protagonist does not romance a demon or an angel. (I did read another book where the protag did though). Idk, I liked it. but the series never finished, so there’s just two books. I highly doubt the story will ever finish.

But, if you’re talking about single books, Alice in Wonderland is really my go to. I love it to pieces. I don’t know, I seem to always read it when a death happens. When this whole pandemic mess started, I watched the Disney movie like five times.

25.      a game you’re playing that takes your mind off things

I was playing Animal Crossing, but I got a little bored of it, so I’m not playing it anymore. I might pick it up later, but who knows. Unfortunately, Breath of the Wild is on my Wii U and not my switch, and I don’t have my Wii U set up at the moment, otherwise I would probably be playing that.

Hi! I really love your headcanons, and your Chrom/Robin FEH fics on AO3? SO GOOD. Question: What pet names do you think Chrom and Robin have for each other? Because I'm writing my first Chrom/Robin fic and I can't help but imagine Chrom calls Robin 'sweetheart' after they get together and it sorta makes me swoon.

Hello!! :D I’m so glad you like the headcanons and I’m especially glad you enjoy the fics on AO3!  I’m really proud of them, so it means a lot to know that other people like them, too ;v; 

But that is a really good question and I like to think that the answer depends on whether we’re talking about a canon situation (where Robin is an amnesiac and more likely to use Ylissean standards for endearments) or an AU (where Robin has all their memories and likely a connection to their Plegian heritage).  I like exploring Plegian traditions, and I think that the heart has great cultural importance to them – I actually headcanon that their engagement customs involve metaphorically giving their heart to the person they love – so if Robin has any connection to their culture, their preferred pet names would Chrom would likely be things like ‘my Heart’ or ‘dear Heart.’  Ylisseans, meanwhile, give different weights to their affections, and their endearments change accordingly; for example, though Chrom doesn’t use those kinds of terms often, he considers the Shepherds his dear friends, but Robin would be ‘Dearest’ because of that deep affection.  And, of course, when he’s feeling exceptionally sappy, Chrom will call Robin ‘my Love,’ which is basically an Ylissean declaration of romance in two words. 

Of course, learning about the other’s culture would have a major impact on the terms they both use.  As they get more familiar with Ylissean culture, Robin would start slipping things like ‘my Dear’ and ‘Darling’ into the mix, especially for spontaneous endearments (since, while they tend to be more guarded about their affections, they will occasionally use pet names in public, if shyly), using more Plegian endearments or ‘my Love’ privately and in very affectionate, romantic moments.  Chrom, meanwhile, once he figures out the cultural significance of the heart in Plegia, would absolutely take up ‘Sweetheart’ as his preferred pet name for Robin publicly and privately (which would absolutely make Robin melt every damn time).

OMG, I read the tags on on one post about how you're so good at plotting a story and then nothing? I'M THAT WAY TOO! So glad to know I'm not the only one...

!! oh i’m wonderful at plotting stories and at starting them. like -- the words i’ve written to summarize and plot out these stories and to start them is easily in the 100,000 range just for 2018 alone. but i don’t like to post stuff until i feel like i’ve got a good flow to keep myself going and i just. lose everything somewhere. a lot of the time it’s a perfectionism issue. but yeah. i’m never at a loss for story ideas, never at a loss for anything remotely related to that. it’s just that when the plot starts to thicken at all i’m worried i’m doing it justice and it turns into a bunch of empty pages that end up forgotten sometimes :/ so yes! you’re most definitely not alone! never alone, and especially on that

On the matter of Chrom and Robin and their drunken states, I absolutely think context matters. If Chrom's getting drunk because it's a party, then he absolutely becomes the person with a Single Braincell and stupid shit is bound to happen. Robin's still a lightweight but a drink or two wouldn't be a problem for a celebration. On the other hand, when they're alone? Then yes, the underlying fears come out, hard.

This is extremely true but at the same time, I still think it plays into the amount they’re drinking.  If it’s a party, Chrom’s not going to go all-out: he’s going to drink a comfortable amount with probably a decent space between each one, and he’s going to be eating along with it.  Both the timing and the meal help to mitigate the effects of the alcohol, so he’s not going to get into a really deeply inebriated state that leaves him morose in a party/celebratory context.  

Robin doesn’t like to drink in the first place, and wouldn’t feel a need to drink in a party situation: the rest of the Shepherds have figured this out and completely respect that decision, so they don’t pressure Robin to drink, instead providing something like spiced cider.  Anything they drink at a party would have minimal to absent alcohol content, and no one would mind – in fact, if someone did try to either spike Robin’s drink or pressure them into drinking when they don’t like it, the Shepherds would kick them out.

The only time Chrom or Robin would get really drunk is when they’re in a bad state – like the aforementioned conflict between Validar and the Exalt that they’re having to moderate.  Chrom tends to get drunk when he’s depressed.  Robin, again, doesn’t drink, so when they do, it’s kind of a big deal and means that something is wrong.  Chrom knows this extremely well, so if he were to find Robin trying to get drunk, that would be a huge red flag and he would drop everything to try and figure out what’s going on.

I kind of had a feeling considering Fallen Takumi in Heroes (aka the Takumi I have put the most work and love into and the only one who’s maxed his HM because I used him and Young Azura together in the Dream Tempest Trials). ;v; I love Takumi a lot I want the best for him and Conquest is not the best.

I mean yeah there are some valid criticisms about what IntSys does sometimes, but it really is fantastic advertisement for other mainline games.  Fans of certain games are going to be interested in specific units and vying for their inclusion, but it’s actually really cool to me that we can get to know these characters without needing to know where they came from, get to know them and like them and want to know more.  I’d played only bits and pieces of games before Heroes, plus all of Awakening, but Heroes really does make me want to go back and play as many other entries as I can.
