Embaa [Fire type] Species: Fire Lamb Pokemon Height: 0.4 m (1′04’’) Weight: 9.4 kg (20.7 lbs) Ability: Blaze Hidden Ability: Magic Guard
Embaa stats HP- 50 ATK- 40 DEF- 50 SP ATK- 70 SP DEF- 50 SPD- 50 Total: 310
Embaa dex entry For a Fire-type, it’s very timid and sheepish. Due to the wool that grows over their eyes, they have poor eyesight, but make up for it with their other senses. It’s said when they get excited, they might accidentally let off little flames towards their hooves.
Blatxa [Fire/Fairy type] Species: Fire Sheep Pokemon Height: 0.7 m (2′04’’) Weight: 28.0 kg (61.7 lbs) Ability: Blaze Hidden Ability: Magic Guard
Blatxa stats HP- 70 ATK- 50 DEF- 70 SP ATK- 85 SP DEF- 70 SPD- 60 Total: 405
Blatxa dex entry In the wild, they’re observed to regulate the length of their wool themselves by setting their wool alight. In the past, they’ve been used as heaters for homes during the winter, and as a source of fuel since their wool is rather flammable. They’re still rather shy, and don’t want to be seen after their wool’s been sheared.
Fllama [Fire/Fairy type] Species: Fire Alpaca Pokemon Height: 1.8 m (5′11’’) Weight: 81.9 kg (180.6 lbs) Ability: Blaze Hidden Ability: Magic Guard
Fllama stats HP- 100 ATK- 85 DEF- 90 SP ATK- 110 SP DEF- 90 SPD- 60 Total: 535
Fllama dex entry This Pokemon has grown out of its shell, and is now a graceful and benevolent wielder of flames. They’re very gentle, and there’s a popular brand of clothing that makes all of their products entirely out of Fllama wool. It’s said their wool is the coziest and warmest of all other Pokemon’s.
Embaa comes from ‘ember’ and ‘baa’.
Blatxa comes from ‘blaze’ and ‘latxa’, a Basque breed of sheep that I kinda based it off of, apparently California has a lot of Basque people so I wanted to at least hint at that somehow.
Fllama comes from ‘flame’ and ‘llama’ even though Fllama might be more of an alpaca, I don’t know anymore, I’ve spent a while on the whole height thing, but technically its design is more influenced by an alpaca? But it’s height is more closer to a llama’s, sooo.... shhh-
I did what Game Freak refuses to do, I made a quadruped Fire-starter. How do y’all like me now?
Also, I know, it’s weird to have a llama in a region inspired by California, Oregon, and Washington. But apparently Oregon has the most llamas out of any other US state. Which, is weird, yes, but I’m not going to question it. I saw this and said ‘aw sweet I can work with this’ and I did.
As you can see, I might’ve taken a lot of heavy influence from Chilean clothing made out of llama wool. Particularly with the chullo hat (yes it has a name aside from ‘pom pom hat’, I was stunned too) on Fllama and the poncho-quilt-esque thing I tried to do with its back?
Since Fllama looks cozy I wanted Blatxa to look cozy too and I gave it a scarf made of its own wool wrapped around them.
All of them have their eyes covered to hint at the ‘wool pulled over your eyes’ saying, but they have more of their eyes reveal as they evolve. Fllama has both eyes visible, it’s just they’re kinda covered by the chullo.
I also always wanted, I dunno... a not-outgoing Fire-type starter, and Embaa was the perfect opportunity to make a shy Fire-type that slowly grows out of its shell and becomes confident- like Sobble, in a way. But more significant because Fire-types are supposed to be rambunctious and stuff, not shy and skittish.
Which is also why Embaa and Blatxa have more of their eyes covered up, to show that they’re scared to expose themselves and everything, so their eyes are obscured to reflect their sheepish (haha GET IT) nature.
