I have a few :>

1. Do you plan to reference Hisui in any way? The events before or after Ingo disappearing or perhaps even foreshadowing?

2. The question probably on everyone's Minds: will you be able to marry/date both of the twins? Will there be special heart events for both of them as well?

3. Will the other townies make reference to the twins in their dialogue or will we have special events with one or more characters with the twins in them? (e.i: the joja cola commercial with Shane, Clint and Emily).

4. Will he be able to go inside the train station?

5. will we see Emmet's giant horde of joltiks?!

6. Will other people be allowed to make portraits of the twins?

i've played over 600 hours of stardew valley and I also adore Ingo and Emmet

Thank you for the ask!! This is quite long so I'm putting them under a readmore.... I hope I answered your questions well enough!!

1. Just a bit of foreshadowing! We do intend on making a Hisui expansion later down the line, but we are currently focusing on just making their pre-Hisui storyline for now!

2. Of course the twins will be datable! I started making the mod because I couldn't wait for Pokemon Masters EX to add them in and decided to just make the submas dating simulator myself haha... Stardew's base game doesn't allow for marrying more than one character at a time and currently there are no references to dating both at the same time (we still have a Lot of dialogue to write in general...). I do know that there are mods that allow you to marry multiple characters but I personally have not tried them myself (I read that your spouses would kiss each other and and quickly departed.... please do not try to make them do that. This is a no blankshipping zone. If anyone deliberately tries to use the mod for incest purposes, you will be tied to the tracks and promptly ran over). For now, the heart progression will assume that you are only going to date/marry one of the twins. If there is enough demand (or if someone else wants to write it....) another "route" could be made later on that has them acknowledging you dating each other? It would be difficult to implement since daily dialogue is tied to individual heart levels and there's not much I can do about having them acknowledge you dating the other in the base mod.

Up until you officially date them, they will simply just be very good friends with you (and a bit obsessive... they're quite lonely in Pelican Town and you're one of the few people who don't turn them away! Can you blame them for becoming so attached?). Emmet's heart progression will consist of him not quite knowing how he feels other than that you are verrrry important to him and will be verrrry similar to Nemona's friendship in scar/vio (if you know... you know) until you decide to date him. Ingo will suffer from his repressed feelings of love and write secret admirer letters to you to cope, all while ensuring that you can he is very much grateful for your friendship... he is a gentleman and wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable with his feelings so directly!

3. The other townspeople will acknowledge their existences! We are still working on specifics, but they will interact with them. Most characters are wary of them and their pokemon, so it will take time for them to warm up, but they are liked by Jas, Vincent, and Granny Evelyn (who will mention having a Bellossom long ago...).

4. The train station will be enterable! Still working out the details for that too, but we intend to make it sort of like the Community Center... We do also want to add quests to improve the exterior of the train station too (there's so much.... dirt.... it's so ugly....)

5. Most likely?? I still have a lot of spriting to do!! There will be joltiks though!

6. You are more than welcome to make your own portraits! The portraits that I drew up are too big to fit inside the vanilla game dimensions (64x64 pixels... tiny...) so I have to use portraiture to load them in (otherwise it loads the resized versions I have implemented... which are quite blurry ^^;). If anyone wants to make vanilla sized portraits to be added into the base mod then then please let me know! If you also make your own portrait mod, I would be happy to link to it when I release the mod. Though... do be aware that the portrait sheets this mod has the dialogue coded for are quite long. @tsumisan6v9 said my first Kudari was friend shaped! Here is a Kudari that is threat-shaped to balance out! He has been placed upon The Cube tm for maximum gargoyle lurking.

I have come to the conclusion that it's the collar that makes for the threat. It creates a great threat display.

I bet Ingo sometimes has some questionable coping mechanisms over in Hisui too. On some days he wakes up and sets the table for two people like it's a habit and if that happens he already knows the day is gonna be hell because he will find himself compelled to do certain things that don't make sense. He holds doors open for people who aren't there, insists on making two cups of tea and all in all his behavior becomes a bit reminiscent of someone being compulsive because he INSISTS he has to do this, he doesn't know why, he has too. It culminates with Akari finding him standing outside his house at night, next to the lantern and just all but staring in the distance. "I can't go to sleep before he comes home." He starts before she can even ask the question. "I always wait until he gets home and leave the light on, he gets worried when he can't see the light from the window, so I always leave it on until he gets home.... I know he's not but-" He stops himself and stays silent until he feels her nudging his shoulder. "... Would it help if I keep watch for a while?" The look on his face tells her that he isn't too keen on the idea, but he nods before heading inside for a night of uneasy rest. Hikari spends about an hour keeping watch , lost in thought, before she finally kills the light when she is sure that Ingo has fallen asleep by now.

Over a hundred years later and a thousand miles away from Hisui , Emmet always keeps the light on before he leaves home.

He's more than once handed something to empty air, letting go without a second thought, only to stare blankly at whatever it was as it drops to the ground. Some of his pokémon have taken to catching the items or picking them up for him, but even then he still has to take a moment to process the dissonance ricocheting through him.

Anytime someone gives him food, he just smiles softly as he splits it in half, explaining that the last time he didn't share, he was given the cold shoulder for hours. Most people assume he's talking about one of his more sensitive pokémon, but he's never seen giving it to any of them.

Him standing outside as he waits for the someone whose identity he doesn't even fully recall is so sad :(( He tried waiting inside, full of nervous energy as time passed and no one came through the door. He couldn't stop bouncing his foot as he waited, waited, waited. It slowly turned into waiting outside for them at night, so as to relieve the worry of this person who floats at the periphery of his memory. If he went to sleep, would they recognize the house as theirs? How would they know he was there, waiting for them? Akari was reliable, though! She would certainly recognize the person he was waiting for, because he had told her of the smile he remembered. If he could trust anyone for the evening shift, it would be her...

One day, each of them think, the light they leave on will be seen.

I love the headcannon that Ingo has really expressive eyes but a non expressive mouth/face while Emmet has a really expressive face and emotes a lot but his eyes don't really show much or any emotion. So what if something like the pandemic happens and they have to wear masks and people keep confusing them for each other whenever they're not wearing their hats/coats cuz "oh. The one that never smiles is Ingo so obviously the one with the sparkle in their eyes is Emmet" BUT NO! It was Ingo all along! Idk just a random thought I got at work

Let's not forget that even though Unova is supposed to be based on New York City, they are still very very much 'Japanese Train Men.' Which means, they are likely to wear face masks whenever they are not feeling well, so we can have this kind of confusion whenever we'd like! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

After a while of wearing the masks, the Twins just forget they have them on. When someone calls Ingo "Emmet," he switches tracks instantly, addressing them the way his younger brother would. He doesn't point out their mistake, even though it just confuses the person even more when later the same day, Emmet is seen wearing a completely different outfit.

Emmet, on the other hand, just tilts his head at the person, with a confused "I am Emmet?" Where Ingo seems to understand the easy mistake -they *are* identical after all- Emmet is surprised every time. To him, it's obvious which one of them is which! His eyes don't light up as wonderfully as Ingo's do when they see something they like. Ingo is so so handsome even with the mask obscuring most of his features.

They get a selection of face masks they wear, which are supposed to be specific to each of them so that people can tell. They each get a bunch of different ones related to their pokémon, one for each with their respective triangles. Ingo gets one with a purrloin mouth on it, because they both think it's cute. Emmet gets one with sharpedo teeth on it for the same reason.

But, sometimes, they'll still grab the wrong mask, and confuse people all over again.

One of the channels I watch on youtube, Dancing Bacons, will pour the entire line of fountain sodas into his cup. Ingo would literally die watching him. _(:з)∠)_

Also syrup on bacon/sausage is the bomb. Emmet knows where it's at! But I'm also on Ingo's side for the fruit. The cheesecake can be easily shared because while Ingo has a nice blackberry compote to accompany his, Emmet can pour flaming hot cheetos on his.

Ohhh, but poor post-Hisui Ingo ~(>_<。) I wonder if Emmet looks for stronger flavored versions of the things that Ingo used to love. If he can't, maybe he tries experimenting to make it himself. "Nii-san, I made this cheesecake just for you. I upped the flavors so let me know if it's strong enough!"

This one is a little complicated!

I think they both love sweets. They just like different kinds!

Emmet loves combinations of flavor. Sweet-and-sour, putting syrup on his bacon, other weirder ways of mixing sweet tastes. He once put chocolate syrup on a pizza and horrified poor Ingo. Sweet and spicy are his favorite combination, though! He also enjoys hard candies, especially the tart ones. Ingo keeps some in his pockets for him.

Ingo is more sensitive to sensory input and prefers less processed food. He really likes fruit. He likes less complex tastes like vanilla, too. He's also got a softspot for NYC-style cheesecake and it's something he can easily share with Emmet.

After PLA, Ingo's brain damage messes with his sense of taste. It never fully heals. He can't taste a lot of the simpler things he enjoys, so Emmet makes it his life mission to find things Ingo will like. He still likes cheesecake, though! It's a good texture even when he can't taste it. So post-PLA Ingo cares way more about texture than taste!

Ingo, bless his heart, really likes documentaries. Emmet always falls asleep during the first watching, because that was when Ingo was learning. It would, however, allow for really nice cuddles, so Emmet enthusiastically agreed to it every time, even when Ingo was like "But you aren't learning anything." The trick, for Emmet, was when Ingo found ones he *really* liked, Ingo wanted to watch them more than once; during subsequent viewings, Ingo would provide a running commentary, keeping Emmet's attention.

Emmet, for his part, loves rhythm games. He plays all sorts, and they've gotten him so many different style controllers. They've already had to soundproof their apartment, so he can be as loud as he wants. I refuse to believe they don't have arcades with dance pads hooked up to large screen tvs on some of the buildings in the busier parts of the city. Emmet can sometimes be found at them, dancing with anyone who wants to challenge him, though Ingo gets cajoled into dancing with him on many occasions.

Oh man, this is exceptionally tough! I have a few playlists for when I write for them, but unlike the super nice people who've sent me music recommendations, basically none of the music can be directly linked to the twins. It is literally just "Music that makes me write the Twins tm"

Hi @twicespicedskitty! Got the confession so now you're here for the commitment, eh? ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

They absolutely, one hundred percent get wedding rings. They wear them under their gloves and fiddle with them more and more the longer they aren't able to hold each others' hands. I've actually made a couple of posts about it, including a list of potential explanations as for why Ingo does not have a ring in Hisui.

I don't think they get any kind of official paperwork, because they both know it wouldn't be officiated. It's okay, though, because they go through all the other steps, and a piece of paper won't change that. Emmet is the one that proposes, even though he waited quite a while for Ingo to do it.

I was trying to think about when they would have set up their anniversary. I'm gonna be weird, and assume Ingo would be weirder - their anniversary is February 21st, the date the first official steam locomotive was put into service. It wasn't a passenger train, just used for hauling coal, but most pictures you see of that time were of just the engine and one cart behind it. It's sort of like having a two-car train, and he considers it to be like them. It started simply, with them being born together, and it grew into something so amazing and complex, just like trains today.

They are a two car train, and the rings are extra proof of their coupling. They always make sure to take that day off work, and the senior staff always give them congratulations. The entirety of the staff doesn't know, but there is a close inner circle that does.

Ingo is probably the more sentimental one, tending to show it with keeping important objects.

They don't really think to take many pictures, at least not above the average person's amount. After all, they're identical twins, they always have their memories of their most precious twin to know how they used to look. Of course, they do have some photos that mark particularly important days - the days they got their first partner Pokémon, graduations, the first day of their first job. There's a few candid photos here and there around their apartment, but they are not absolutely swimming in them.

Ingo likes to keep mementos, and Emmet completely supports him in this. It's part of why they give people trophies when they defeat them at Gear Station. Ingo, even before losing his memories, just finds intense value in little treasures that can bring such wonderful feelings long after the event has passed. When they go places, he's the one that wants souvenirs, the one who keeps fancy containers or outer, decorative wraps of local specialties when he can. I wouldn't go so far as to say he scrapbooks, or anything, at least not until he returns from Hisui.

Speaking of!! It's actually a blessing that he kept so many things, because it's a huge support for when he comes back from Hisui. Emmet worked so hard to keep the Station running, but it was mostly Elesa's efforts that saved their apartment. It was a struggle for Emmet to see the apartment without Ingo; in Gear Station, there were plenty of times where he didn't see Ingo for long stretches of time, so it was easier to be there.

It's really difficult to imagine they can pick a favorite thing, so I will name one major thing they like.

Emmet really looks up to Ingo as his older brother; he thinks he is responsible, smart, and knows what to do. So, in that way, Ingo's "older brother-ness" is a key part of what makes Ingo so cool. He would probably feel extremely awkward if Ingo did not also lean into the older brother angle.

Ingo finds Emmet's adaptability extremely respectable. Emmet is so well versed in pokemon and their abilities that he can completely weave around Ingo's complex battle ideas and strategies. It doesn't go unnoticed that Emmet leaps to accomplish anything Ingo wants, and it doesn't matter what he tries, he will work to the situation.

accumula: what is their favorite form of non-sexual intimacy?

Emmet absolutely loves to put his head in Ingo's lap for pets. It doesn't lead to anything sexual itself, and helps Emmet relax. His reason for liking it is two-fold, because he likes the sensation, but it's also his twin, who knows him so well that he knows exactly where to pet or scritch or ruffle without being directed.

Although they are both fond of it, the fact that Emmet mirrors him so closely is Ingo's favorite. It feels like they are one, and showcases to everyone how close they are. It's acceptable for them to show their closeness in this way, and Ingo adores how easily Emmet can participate. It's something that can't be taken away from them, nor replicated by anyone else.

lentimas: what are some smaller ways they show each other their love?

Emmet gives things as a love language. He brings Ingo drinks when he's working (and no, not so he can get up from his desk and walk around >:| ! really!), or makes Ingo put his hand out and puts a wrapped candy into it. Bringing home treats for them is a regular occurrence, and not just so he can steal the recipe to make it himself for his brother.

Ingo knows how Emmet thinks, so he's able to package things in just the perfect way for Emmet to get maximum enjoyment. Whether it's combining interests or framing things relevant to Emmet's personal likes, he's very quick to include Emmet in everything.
