About Me

Hi, I go by Blakesley online. I'm a 29 year old female trainer who specializes in Dark types, and is trying to apply to become a gym leader in my local region, since a lot of our gym leaders are retiring.

Here's a makeshift trainer card I used because I don't feel comfortable posting my real trainer card with my real name on it online. I'll probably edit this with an actual picture, later.

I majored in Dark Type studies in Pokemon Academy, and raised ALMOST every dark type at least once. (Dark Types only make up 8% of currently discovered Pokemon). I also do occasional field research for professors to make a little extra dough.

Let me introduce my main team I'm applying for the gym leader position with.

Pokemon

Kain is my starter (misspelled it on the ID). No, I'm not from Alola, but my Mom grew up there, so she was able to pull some strings and get me and my sister Alolan starters as gifts once each of us were old enough to start training Pokemon. It was tough choosing between Litten and Popplio. It was funny seeing my Dad's reaction when he saw what Cain evolved into. He just thought he was gonna be a bigger cat!

Kyoshi was the hardest to get fully evolved. Like, frick, her evolution item is extremely rare to the point you can only get it in a few regions, plus she had to beat a bunch of other Bisharp while holding it. Like, holy crap. She's strong, though, and definitely worth the effort.

Mikey is a good boy. He likes belly rubs and is friendly with most other Pokemon. He did have some trouble with Camonte since both Mabosstiffs and Honchkrows are highly territorial. There's a local Meowth that gets on his nerves, but he gets along with my Mom's Alolan Meowths and Purrloin we recently adopted.

Wrath, despite no longer being an Impidimp, is still a prankster (not the ability prankster) and likes to mess with me. Being part fairy type makes him excellent for dealing with fighting type users.

Ghidorah is strong af. Enough said. She's a bit of a glutton. I kinda miss when she was a Deino, sometimes.

I technically had Camonte before becoming a trainer, I just wasn't able to formally catch him until after I started my journey. Camonte is the one I have to keep my eye on the most. Even if a Honchkrow has a trainer, they will often take control of a flock of Murkrow and essentially establish a crime syndicate. I have had to return so many Pokeballs and wallets ever since I evolved him. Still love him to death, though.

I have other Pokemon, too, including a Blissey, and Alolan Muk that might get used on my team if I qualify to run my own gym (to deal with the pesky fairies), a Crobat, and a ton of others that would take forever to list.

Context: Damien's Dad and his ex-wife were, well, a couple at one point, and had Xiuying together. They got divorced, and later, Damien's dad met Damien's mom, they had him. So Damien and Xiuying are half siblings. Not sure by how much, but I always imagined her in the vigilante/bounty hunting sphere.

( also his dad's name isn't Liu or his mom's isn't Blakesley - I need actual names for them, but I used their surnames for the chart).

Wound, secret, break for whoever you want

I already did two of these for Bailey, so we'll go with Gavin for this.

wound: How does your OC handle being wounded? Are their wounds mostly physical? Mental? Emotional? What's the worst wound your OC has ever experienced?

Gavin's reaction to small physical wounds would give you the impression he's a crybaby and a drama queen. He's the type to fuss over a stubbed toe or papercut, but when shit really goes down -- and it does, the man lives in Gotham -- he's surprisingly quiet. He'll try to leave the worst injuries up to his lycanthropic healing, withdrawing and tending to the wound himself.

As for nonphysical wounds, well. Gavin considers himself a pretty carefree dude. He lives in the moment, going with the flow. The horrors can't touch him if he never acknowledges them, right?

...Right?

As for severe wounds: Gavin came out to his parents when he was in college, telling them he wasn't a straight woman, but a gay man. He knew they wouldn't take it well, but... He still wasn't prepared for them to react that badly. It hurt, and he hasn't seen or spoken to them since.

secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?

I'm not sure. Gavin's a pretty open book. He's careful who he tells about being trans, obviously, and who knows about his deal with Neron. But for the most part? He doesn't care a whole lot about what people think. He has very few people he lets in, but those people get his full and complete trust and loyalty. No secrets from them.

If there is anything he's hiding from everyone, he's hiding it from me too, at least for now.

break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?

Gavin is difficult to visibly upset. He's the sort to laugh and quip his way through a fight, instead of yell and bear his teeth. And he tries hard to avoid the kind of deeper connections that leave him vulnerable -- if he keeps people at a distance, they can't put a knife in his ribs. The man keeps his emotions buried under several layers of masks and locks and mazes. He's got a soft nougat center in there, but it's under, like, a jawbreaker.

It would take a clear betrayal from someone he trusts to really hurt him. Realizing that he let someone in, and he shouldn't have.

The expression on his face starts as confusion -- head tilted, sure he's misunderstood something. And then realization dawns, turning to disbelief. Then, for a moment, agonized heartbreak.

And then the mask falls in place again. Gavin smiles, his canines already long and sharp. "...Of course. I should have expected this. Ah well, can't be helped."

He'd rather drown the emotions that result than process them. But when the distractions stop working, he'll vanish into the woods or some pocket dimension or something. Scream and howl for a bit. Just until it stops hurting. And then he'll head back home, and pretend nothing ever went wrong.

Wenclair: the Wolf and the Raven: Chapter 6

Introducing my OC to the story, some of you already know her, most of you don’t.

The weekend passed by and Enid’s heat seemed to have somewhat settled enough for the young werewolf to function properly. At least when Wednesday was close, if she didn’t see her she would look around anxiously and find out she’d been standing behind her all along. Damn her and her tiny posture.

Classes were the same as always, notes were taken, homework was given and the promise of a test or two in the future that earned the teachers a whine from the class.

Enid’s heat was as good as gone when they set foot in Monster Anatomy and Bio class for the first time this semester and the first thing Wednesday noticed that there was already a student there.

They were sitting at the front and far left of the room which she thought was odd, most students wanted to sit at the back. She and Enid sat right behind the person whose face was mostly covered by the hoody of their traditional Nevermore uniform. She eyed them up and down and came to the conclusion that the newbie was a male, probably transferred here due to unknown reasons.

Neither she nor Enid paid much attention to the newcomer and pulled out their books, opening them to where they had stopped last semester.

Mr. Blakesley sat behind his desk, waiting for his students to settle at designated places before starting class.
