Rereading CPC but now I think about it, even if Maria and Blaine didn't end up together, it's clear that his betrayal really affected a huge part of her regardless.

Like, we understand why Blaine behaved the way he did. But we can't discount that Maria, even with all her faults genuinely did do her best to make the relationship work. She tried to understand him deeper, and accepted his insecurities. She corrected her ways when she realized that she was being too openly perverted towards him. Even if uncomfortable, she tried to appease to his mother, and not tell her sisters about Isolde's aggression. She was willing to get to know him more and catch him if he had fallen. Even if he wasn't the perfect dreamy prince she wanted, she tried.

And part of her hoped that Blaine still had it in him to not go lower when she begged him to stop the invasion at the Pastel Kingdom. It will remain in her memory, that the secret she trusted Blaine with was the key to the Pastel Kingdom's invasion. That because of that trust, Gwen who was in a comatose, became even more in danger. That her sister and their maids had to fight and get hurt to defend their kingdom.

The way she acts now, her becoming more mature. Blaine's fall and his freedom will always haunt a part of her. In a way, she lost her innocence due to Blaine's betrayal.

In the end, she was a cursed princess, and her curse was meeting Blaine.

‘Bridge of Light’ I know there’s been a few times where crap just got a bit too overwhelming for Mari so mama Gwen sings her a song to calm her down.

There are also a few that aren’t technically Mariana related but more so your version of the other characters.

Like ‘We are one’ and ‘Path of Honor’ from Lion King are actually for Brandon and Frederick. I feel like at some point in his life Brandon would question if he really has what it takes to be the next king and Frederick decides to give his son a little pep talk.

Next is Concrete Angel and ‘Because of You’ which is actually more focused on Frederick and his brothers for obvious reasons.

The ‘Broken Girl’ (boy in this case) and Undo are actually about Blaine. Ect..

And even a few where Mariana finally realizes that Lord David truly loves her for her. Of course I know she wouldn’t sing something so ‘sappy’ as she would call it, but it fits.

Let's analyze this monologue a little bit.

"we spent an entire week planning this serenade just for you!" (Except for the fact that I put you in back and shone the main spotlight of the serenade on me)

"but you ran off selfishly-" (except for the fact that if we planned this for you, we'd want you to confess to Gwen however you wanted) "-leaving me with nothing but this unsightly neck burn," (except for the fact that it it was more mine and Lance's fault than yours) "When you KNOW I'm modeling for a showcase of men's statement necklaces next week!" (Except for the fact that, even if you showed interest, which is unlikely at best, you probably wouldn't know every acting gig I had, AND you were unrelated to the neck burn anyway)

"But it's fine. You don't have to follow the path that your older, wiser brothers laid out for you!" (Except for the fact that you were practically for Ed to come here and any attempt to stand up for yourself in any capacity is answered with violence and threats)

"But you don't get to have it both ways and and cherry pick our help only when things don't go your way!" (Except for the fact that that's not only common for people to have such relationships with parents and siblings, but has an actual name, being refered to as a safety net)

"So don't come back here until you've either manned up and talked to Gwen on your own, or unless you're willing to agree to do things our way-- the Plaid Prince way! (Except for the fact that this is a confession in which completely dominating the entirety of it and Frederick just dealing with it would both be worse options than just giving him some advice)

So, let's see.

(note that Frederick nor Blaine's expressions indicated that this was an isolated occurrence) Blaine used a harsh tone to demean Frederick, made Frederick look ungrateful and blamed Frederick for something that he was almost completely unrelated to, all while manipulating the situation to make himself look like the wiser, better brother that Frederick is beneath, and the victim that Frederick is being cruel to.

I think there's a name for the specific type of manipulation involving making someone doubt themself and/or their perception of reality to gain control over them, which Blaine seems to be using here.

Oh right! It's gaslighting.
