Is antisemitism among black Americans ever going to get addressed? Not accusing you or anyone specific, but I’ve never once seen it being acknowledged in leftist spaces. I didn’t even know it was a problem until I heard about Whoopi Goldberg and Nick Cannon apologizing for it. I was thinking Kanye’s antisemitism was some kind of a fluke and not a trend.

Then I looked up statistics and turns out black people are far, far more likely to ve antisemitic than other races in America. (here’s a source but there’s plenty of articles on it: https://www.inss.org.il/publication/black-antisemitism/). I can also anecdotally say it was rampant on the subreddit r/blackpeopletwitter.

And I agree 100% that marginalized communities need to be aware of their own prejudices, but it has apply to everyone equally and it hasn’t been.

I think I t’s the unfortunate intersection of cultural Christianity and a lack of intersectionality that allows the antisemitism to slip through the cracks among Black activists. I’ve seen it justified usually by pointing to the perceived cultural whiteness of Jews (as most American Jews are Ashkenazi) or by pointing to Israel and the Depo Provera scandal. I do remember there being a small movement online to point out that this was Model Minority in action but that has largely been thrown to the wayside in recent months for obvious reasons

After I posted this eleven  days ago. today on the news I heard they got a prisoner exchange for the American journalist that is in Russia. How about that?  I also heard that the Wall Street Journal is involved with that too and exchange for all of the Americans that is in Russia. it’s a very good thing. The Wall Street Journal needs to think twice about sending American journalist over there in the future to get some piece story. Because the price for their freedom if they get caught doing something wrong or maybe not doing anything wrong the price for the Freedom is way too much. That’s the end of the lesson.

Like you can go anywhere in the world to be a journalist to report on certain conditions in any country in the world and come back to the United States and write about it. BS! The Wall Street Journal you have a journalist over there in Russia being held in custody and sentenced to 16 years in prison just to get a few stories about something that is happening over there in Russia and come back and write about it. Wall Street Journal are you naïve for sending Americans over there to write about what’s happening in their country. Obviously they got a hold of the journalists now charged with espionage. Time has changed before they used to let the press report things about their country. But not now. Now it’s another prisoner exchange? The Wall Street Journal knew that this would be possible. This could happen to one of the journalists. Now we have to let a Russian go in exchange for an American. I wonder who is making the money in the deal? You best believe someone is getting paid. The Wall Street Journal is making a profit out of the exchange after the government switched both parties. The Wall Street Journal you are not squeaky clean. you have people inside your organization that are doing some undermined stuff and it has to stop - stop sending Americans over there to get some stories knowing full well that they might not come back home. This is not acceptable. Now it’s gonna take the government to get these people back home.

It didn’t hit me until recently that people genuinely think Kamala Harris was a police officer because of all the people who call her a cop online.

Like I think maybe it’s important people should know she was a prosecutor. She was once a district attorney and later an attorney general for the state of California. And we can discuss how related that is to police work and how tied she is to the carceral system etc etc (but for fairness would have to include her record of pushing for lowering incarceration rates through programs helping former prisoners + her office refusing to jail folks for low level weed offense). But she was never a police officer. Like people should get that clear. Kamala Harris was never a police officer. She was a district attorney. She was never a police officer.
