Someone I once considered a close friend and confidant is now my manager at my job. I've come to hate their guts in a very short amount of time.

It's not just how they treat me now. It's made me finally see a pattern that I was always able to ignore when I could still argue with them. Before, there was a chance I could win the argument. Or at least I could fight against the way they spoke about people.

Now it isn't just disagreement. It's questioning authority. Now, they can punish me for disagreeing.

They never respected me. They don't respect anyone. They respect authority, almost regardless of who is wielding it and how. I'm completely disgusted with them.
