i really like rewatching kekkai sensen and having it run in the background while i work because a good majority of the time i will tab back to the episode and it’s just a several second pan of black staring at leonardo. like that.

RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT IT MAKES ME SO INSANE!!!! like i think sooo much about how the thing that kept white going was her being so scared that black couldn't live for himself. she couldn't let go of him until he was able to say that he wanted to live especially because of how much they felt they needed to take care of each other. one of my favorite scenes is where black jumps into the river to save the one thing white has showed any interest in because its the one thing about herself that she feels has worth even if she would never admit it

it's such a good way to sum up their relationship... black is willing to sacrifice himself for white and white just wants him to learn that he as a person has so much worth to her and those around him. my other favorite scene is where black admits that he might as well give up because everything is already horrible and white IMMEDIATELY goes "no!!! theres still a whole world out there even if im not here!!!" and its just. ouhgh it makes me cry so much. black has been doing whatever dangerous things he can to keep white safe and the thing that finally gets him to realize that he needs to live for himself is her letting go. something something despair is forced to leave black because white has given him hope that he can live and grow even if he has to live with grief.

ALSO i could talk about blackleo FOREVER they are SOOO good for each other. black and leo are such good foils because white helps black learn to live while michellas sacrifice gives something leo to work toward. they both get to have actual support systems because of their hope and love for their family theyre just. so well written i really love black and leo so much thank u for this ask it gave me an excuse to talk about them at length

Aquaman 2! I haven't seen the first one but I thought it was really fun. It felt like. It was made for women? Which is a weird thought to have during a film but I noticed the lack of male gaze and was sort of transfixed by that lack. The themes of the movie were fun and it was very eventful with tons of shit happening, which was a blast.

'The Adventures of Superman' the 1942 novel (1995 reprint version). I'm still just in the beginning parts but I really enjoyed its depiction of Krypton. It's wild to be reading the first superhero novel.

I also pulled out the FE Chess zine i have, but I haven't actually cracked it open yet. Both are in my 'active reading pile' on my nightstand :)

Technology is both a boon and a bane, and for one William Macbeth, the new smartphone he suddenly finds in his hands reminds him of exactly that. 

Despair had been tapping away at it previously, it seemed. He and Leo certainly had fun picking out a model and setting it up while he drifted off in exhaustion. While Will didn't appreciate the extra-large font setting (he's nearsighted, not blind), he has no idea how to turn that off. 

It's funny how between the two of them, it's Despair who adapted to modern conveniences faster than him, despite having lived centuries without them. 

The phone suddenly makes a weird noise, causing Will to almost drop it. Fortunately, Leo isn't awakened by it, blissfully snoring away beside him. The camera app is now on, though, for some reason. (He'll read the user guide tomorrow morning, before Despair starts making fun of him.) 

He brings the phone over Leo's scrunched face, the camera focusing on the freckles on his nose. Will lets his thumb hover over the white button; this much is self-explanatory, at least. 

It's a shaky, unfocused picture at best; this much he can tell even without his glasses on. It's okay for now, though; there will be better moments to capture next time. Just the memory of it is enough for tonight.

Will jolts awake, a muffled thud ringing in his ears as he blinks up at the ceiling through the dark. His hand is freezing, knuckles brushing against the weave of the rug underneath the coffee table, and his fingers hit the warmed plastic of the remote before he raises them to the toasty weight wedging him into the cushions.

Just a dream, that's all, he thinks to himself as he presses shaking fingers to the heat of Leo's cheek. Really, probably something from watching those movies and not falling to sleep properly.

1/3 of the way through this chapter and already I’m raising eyebrows at my outline. I love how my outline notes are "a little angst, as a spice" and when I write the full chapter, my brain goes “a lot of spice. a whole nuke’s worth of spice. fuck you and the taste buds you rode in on, we’re turning this place into flavor town.”

this is a cruel and dark power I have been given. thanks my friend, for allowing this opportunity for a teaser of the angst that is to come.
