Reposted from @unitedbusinesscommunity - @therealremyredd: #Blackmen we must take back our communities. We need to #leadbyexample . The next generation needs us to teach them that the current narrative is wrong. If we don’t get in the street and teach them tv music and the media will. When they control the narrative our people only get lies. • Follow me also @therealremyredd #therealremyredd #BotherVex (BACKUP PAGE) • DONATION CAN BE GIVEN AT 💵 CashApp 💸 • Please turns ON your POST NOTIFICATIONS • $TheRealRemyRedd #ControlTheNarrative ____________________________ #FollowAndSupport @UnitedBlackCommunity / @UnitedBusinessCommunity #UBCHub #UnitedBlackNetwork #SupportBlackBusiness #BlackEconomicsMatters https://www.instagram.com/p/BvjUv4OnYV-EWHi--HyK7gfTu1HprbUuD16HIo0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=12zzdvj9hf1i1

Reposted from @unitedbusinesscommunity - @atlblackstar: A Houston grandmother is now hotter by one degree after achieving her lifelong dream of graduating college. Beatrice Lillie, 80, earned her associate’s degree in business management from Houston Community College’s Business Center of Excellence, KHOU 11 reported. The seasoned scholar walked the stage at NRG Stadium last week as friends, family and classmates cheered her on from their seats. ____________________________ #Follow @UnitedBlackCommunity / @UnitedBusinessCommunity / @UnitedMelaninQueens / @UnitedBlackLibrary #UBCHub #UnitedBlackNetwork #BuyBackTheBlock #BlackEconomicsMatters(💕💚#4evahaka2 #FAMU1908 #CreditToOwner) - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/Bynbt5fnoJ_/?igshid=19we9xqioyyjs

Quote
Now the other thing we'll have to do is this: Always anchor our external direct action with the power of economic withdrawal. Now, we are poor people. Individually, we are poor when you compare us with white society in America. We are poor. Never stop and forget that collectively -- that means all of us together -- collectively we are richer than all the nations in the world, with the exception of nine. Did you ever think about that? After you leave the United States, Soviet Russia, Great Britain, West Germany, France, and I could name the others, the American Negro collectively is richer than most nations of the world. We have an annual income of more than thirty billion dollars a year, which is more than all of the exports of the United States, and more than the national budget of Canada. Did you know that? That's power right there, if we know how to pool it. We don't have to argue with anybody. We don't have to curse and go around acting bad with our words. We don't need any bricks and bottles. We don't need any Molotov cocktails. We just need to go around to these stores, and to these massive industries in our country, and say, "God sent us by here, to say to you that you're not treating his children right. And we've come by here to ask you to make the first item on your agenda fair treatment, where God's children are concerned. Now, if you are not prepared to do that, we do have an agenda that we must follow. And our agenda calls for withdrawing economic support from you."

We're fast approaching the holidays. Many of us are preparing to shop hard. Now more than ever with all of the resources and the information that we have access to, there's no reason to not put Black businesses at the top of your shopping list. Support Black businesses with your dollars. After you support them, share the information with someone and keep this going. This is how we gain economic power. #supportblackownedbusinesses #shopblackforchristmas #blackeconomicsmatter #buyblack #blackdollarsmatter #dontjustlikeitbuyit #dontjustbuyitshareit

August 11, 1965 was a scary time in South Los Angeles. Unyielding poverty, racial discrimination by law enforcement and growing inequality built up for years in the Watts community until anger and frustration boiled over that hot summer night. riots daily reports of injuries and death. When it was all over, 34 people had lost their lives, more than 1000 were injured, and 200 buildings were destroyed A community destroyed. Watts was seriously damaged, and it would take years, even decades, to recover. The impact was felt far beyond South LA as Watts came to symbolize the problems that many urban areas have experienced. Reports published after the riots pointed to brutality by a largely white police force, extensive poverty, and a pitiful school system that only fed into a "dull devastating spiral of failure." 50 years later we still witness the existence of police terrorism and poverty. #watts #wattsriot #blackeconomicsmatter #1965 #facts #losangeles #95thsttacos #onetacoonelove
