Okay, I know technically October was black cat awareness month, but I could not get a good picture of this cat the entire month! So here he is now, telling you to adopt black cats because they are just as sweet and awesome as other colored cats. . I first saw Binx on the shelter’s Facebook page. They posted a video of him at his foster home, playing on the bed. I fell in love immediately and went down to the shelter to meet him. It turns out that they had placed him in a foster home for a while because he wasn't thriving well at the shelter. Most kittens his age cling to whatever human is holding them, play with anyone who has a toy, and like getting out of their cage and exploring. That's what people love about them. . Binx, however, did not like being held, did not like strangers, and wanted nothing more than to hide in the back of his cage. I knew, though, that there was more to him than that. The video from his foster home proved that. I knew that as a black cat and with his strange behavior, he had little chance of being adopted, so I went with my gut and brought him home. . What I got was a sweet, loving companion who probably just missed his mama (he still kneads and sucks on his favorite blanket). He is our tsundere kitty, a mighty hunter, and a brave facer of dogs. Today’s post is a triple header! For #BlackCatAwarenessMonth we are sharing a rare image of Empress Alexandra Von CatsCliff when she was Duchess of the Royal Court of King Marin. In the image she wears the stunning #AlexandraDiadem which was made for her to represent the King at state occasions. The first of which was attending the Japanese Imperial Court. So it is no surprise that Alexandra’s great-granddaughter chose to wear the same tiara to the Enthronement Ceremony of Emperor Naruhito, today! Which makes this post a #TossbackTuesday as well! Today Japan's Emperor Naruhito has officially proclaimed his enthronement, in a ritual-bound, centuries-old ceremony attended by more than a hundred dignitaries from around the world. The head of state began his reign in May, after his father, Akihito, became the first emperor to abdicate in 200 years. But on Tuesday, Naruhito, 59, announced his change in status to the world, in an elaborate series of rituals known as "Sokui no Rei" at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. A number of high-profile guests were in attendance, including Britain's Prince Charles, Colquaet’s Crown Princess Allonwyn, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, the King and Crown Princess of Sweden, the Crown Prince of Norway and the Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark. The enthronement ceremony was followed by an imperial banquet on Tuesday night where HRH the Prince of Wales escorted HRH Crown Princess Allonwyn.
