I think personally that the award shows have a lot more to do with who the person is or who they are linked to then how good the actual song is. For example bad things was such a huge hit bc of also how popular Camilas is and also her fan base and they beat bad things to the ground with the interviews, photoshoots, pap pics, pop up shows, talk shows ect like there was so much effort put into making bad things such a big hit, if u look up Camila and mgk there will be hundreds of things that pop up same for my exs bestfriend it’s a really easy song to vibe to but again it’s linked to another big star Blackbear and his fan base and it was constantly promoted and then we have him winning awards for ttmdf and ms and look at who those albums are linked to (Megan) that was also around the time they was doing 5 pap walks a week, constant couple interviews and photoshoots and Colson saying in the interviews that the albums happened bc of Megan and her influence and then look at lonely road, it’s a decent song but he’s done better but look at who’s it’s linked to another big celeb. Colson 100% deserves awards and he has put so much work into so many of his albums and songs especially hotel Diablo but I hate to say this but a lot of these awards that he’s winning is bc of the other person that’s on the songs or the other person he’s linked to. But I have also noticed he doesn’t promote his rap as much as he does any other pop punk or country song, not even close to the same amount promo and I think it’s bc if he starts promoting his rap again, starts getting people to take notice in that category again then he will have to actually go back in that category and hang with them and put on the rap version of mgk. And it’s not a bad thing but he does put on a persona for the rap music (a very confident fuckboy perosna😭) just like he did for pop punk (a very shy good boy perosna) but I don’t think he’s mentally ready to even compete in rap right now especially with the diddy stuff going on let alone him having any type of self confidence in that genre. Like even now when he decides to randomly rap some of his newer songs u can just tell his confidence isint at where it used to be, it pops up every now and then but he needs to get that back before he goes back into rap. But the music industry is all about who u know and who u are linked to and I think Colson finally figured that out and is just riding that wave untill he gets enough self confidence to go back into doing rap again or doing something on his own again. Like he’s at a point he’s really trying to find hisself but at the same time finding easy ways to stay relevant enough to stay on peoples radar

You bring up a lot of good points and I agree with you about him maybe not wanting to do a lot of rap atm because of the Diddy stuff. And also that all his recognition did come from other people being attached to his name, so that's definitely something I actually never thought about.

"Well music kinda runs in my family, so it's been a part of my life forever. I mean my mom literally was pregnant on tour. But uh, when I was about 13 I started to really take it seriously. It's around this time when I begged my older cousin to be in my band and well, that's how this kinda all started."

"It's definitely indie rock. A little bit of pop, a touch of singer- songwriter vibes."

who are some of your biggest musical influences?

"Well obviously my mom was a huge influence on me, considering how amazing she really is. And many of her influences too, for obvious reasons, but I really draw from like blackbear, Jeremy Zucker, Jon Bellion, the 1975, Wombats, you know very alt artists that are just extremely talented and lyrical geniuses. Sighs yeah you can really see the Thai bl influence on my playlist. I found this through MSP Prom Night Live, and I really like it! The way the chorus is sung is so fun to me, and I love to play it on the guitar.

the armani's are stupid rich. their dad's wealth and influence is tainted in blood / crime but it has fed the family's reputation and given them a power over certain things.

growing up, gunner + his twin were cared for by nannies. not many nannies were able to endure the torture that gunner and his brother would place on them. be it pranks, genuinely terrorizing them, or setting them up to get fired.

eventually, they did get a nanny that could handle the boys but as much as they adored her as time went on, they also were emotionally lacking a relationship with their parents.

spoiled beyond belief, this mix of lack of attention and total gift bombing the twins had an unsatisfactory effect on gunner. he started to lash out in self destructive and violent ways: from instigating fights with strangers to drinking until he couldn't remember the night. ( no worries, there was always a tabloid invading his privacy to recap the details with. )

from messy exes to soured friendships, the paps have always been focused on the armani family. it's made gunner's life all the more difficult in his perspective.

it never mattered what gunner did, however, because mr. armani always erased the evidence.

Thanks so much! I mean I definitely would but who I write about really just depends on my current hyperfixation and I’m highly influenced by my dreams. Few weeks ago I had a mod sex dream and immediately wrote a mod fic. Last week I had a Jaden sex dream and I’m currently super fixated on him and I’m 1,700 words into a Jaden fic. HE/HIM / have you ever heard of ALONE IN A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE by blackbear, well, it describes DENVER ‘DENNY’ TREMAINE to a tee! the twenty five year old, and VLOGGER/CONTENT CREATOR was spotted browsing through the stalls at portobello road market last sunday, do you know them? would you say HE is more immature or more DELIGHTFUL instead? anyway, they remind me of constant bed head, untied shoelaces, freckles and dark eye bags and an unmanageable tangle of cords, maybe you’ll bump into them soon!

time in notting hill: twelve years

Being born one of two, Denny had a built in best friend from the get go.  His parents had wanted to have more kids, but the Tremaine twins were a handful, and it was all they could do to keep up with Denny and Wendy.  Denny was always taught to express himself creatively, in whatever way he felt, as long as it wasn’t putting himself or other in danger - which meant that even from a young age, he had fairly unrestricted internet access.

Growing up with the giant spike in commentary channels and YouTube personalities, Denny aspired even from a young age to be in front of his own camera, commenting on that weeks’ hottest new music video, or even just rambling on about his own life.  While his parents didn’t spoil him, it was hard to say no to his excited eyes and wide grin.  For his seventh birthday, he was gifted a second hand camcorder, and from that moment on, Denny spent too much time documenting his life.

Despite his parents best intentions of telling him not to overshare, Denny’s favorite past time became something akin to a video dairy.  He would just ramble on about his day at school, or take his camera out in his back yard or to the local park to talk about nothing and everything, and somehow his channel kept growing.  Maybe it was because people were interested in his life - YouTube had a lot of different little niches, and daily video bloggers was one of them.  Maybe it was because he was a cute boy with soft freckles and curly hair.  Either way, the slowly growing follower count encouraged him.

Shortly after Denny and his twin sister turned twelve, both of their parents got new job opportunities overseas, and that’s what took the Tremaine family to Notting Hill.  Suddenly in a completely new environment, Denny had a bunch of new content to film, and it was here that he really blossomed.  Somehow, the UK influencer scene seemed more inviting and open, and he started collaborating with other vloggers, causing his own viewership to rise.

He couldn’t tell you how he fell in with Astrid Thorsen; maybe they had a mutual friend, maybe he liked one too many of her photos and she took the time to look at his Instagram profile.  Either way, their friendship caused his followers to explode even more, and slowly Denny felt himself putting on a mask when he filmed, turning into a caricature of himself.  As his popularity rose, so did the fake friends, and Denny was starting to lose himself in it all.

Throughout everything, at least he had Wendy.  When he felt like he was completely alone or like everyone just acted like they liked him because of his viewer count, Wendy was there to remind him that he had lots of good qualities that people liked him for outside of his social media career.  After a particularly nasty relationship and breakup, he decided to take a brief hiatus, trying to figure out where to go from there, as well as deciding that moving forward, he needed a manager to stay sane.

Denny is sweet, and outgoing, and if you listen hard enough you can tell that he’s absolutely putting on a heavier accent than he has since he spent half his life in Notting Hill, but he is also deeply insecure and is convinced that most of his friends secretly hate him and only want to hang out with him because it’s better for all of their views.  He relies heavily on Wendy for support and reassurance, and tends to feature her in most of his vlogs, as well as popping into her streams when he isn’t busy.
