What is your favorite memory involving this character from their source material and why?
🦊Yuzu - yes me choosing my own OC so the source is my own head fkjdshfks but 100% coming up with the names Yuzu calls everybody and how jealously cute she acts to annoy Clayman
but it's also really important to call out how deeply meaningful she is to my SI and the impact she has on them. When Clayman dies, Wendy doesn't want to live anymore, either. But Yuzu is there, looking after them, and reminding them that there are still people in this world who care about them, and who make it worth living. Yuzu doesn't say so in as many words - but when Wendy finally realizes that Yuzu is still with them, and has been there the entire time, all these realizations come to a head, and they can finally begin to really, truly process their grief and move forward.
What do you do together on a rainy day?
🦊Snuggle up and enjoy tasty treats together!!!
If there is one thing that you want them or others to know about them or how they’ve influenced your life what would that be?
💜Vaati - Vaati is a character I've adored since Minish Cap. He is never going to get new content based on some dumb licensing shit. When I was in elementary school I made my own OC heavily inspired by Vaati and injected her into everything. I ended up injected Vaati into my botw SI's verses too - this was way back when I just got back into self ship, so i can say it was definitely the first time I pulled a character in from one thing to another setting with regards to self ship.
He's a wonderful sibling character to me - and what I've learned from all this is that you can do whatever the hell you want and bring characters in and enjoy them! There's no need to restrict yourself :D

(Don’t) Remember
Prompt
Summary: Wild was completely content going the rest of his life not remembering the past.
-o-o-o-o-
The first time Link has ever gained a memory, he vowed it would be the last. He climbed up to the base of Mount Lanayru and oh so innocently opened his Sheikah Slate to look at the picture, the memory. He remembers being excited. He had nothing back then, nothing but the few days he had gained since waking up at the shrine. There was a odd feeling that took over him as he compared the scenery to the picture, then he blinked and he found himself one hundred years in the past.
The memory was only a minute or two, but the moment he was back to reality, back in his own body, he kneeled over the vomited. He remembers feeling useless and terrified. He was that hero? He was supposed to stop that evil? It made him sick to his stomach, it made him tremble and shake and sob into the the cool dirt beneath him. He panicked and cried and stayed there for a very long time, trying to get ahold of himself. It was by luck the Lynel on the other side of the wall didn't hear him. He wouldn't have been able to defend himself.
He went back to Kakariko when he had finally gotten himself under some sort of control. He marched into Impa's house and told her he will save the princess, he will destroy ganon, but he does not need his memories to do so. Impa looked surprised, shocked even, that Link would refuse to remember any of the past, though she probably knew that there would be no changing his mind, so she simply nodded and told him to go free the Divine Beasts.
That too became difficult for Link to do. He remembers standing at a Zora girls stature and falling unwillingly into a memory about her healing him, about the hope she had that Calamity Ganon would be a simple story to tell to the future generations. Link tumbled back into his body and panicked right there in front of Sidon and that Muzu. He doesn't know if he lost respect that day, but he still was able to go to Vah Ruta and free it.
Then he was looking at a beautiful helmet sitting on the head of Riju and he could feel the memory coming. He couldn't prepare himself for when it smashed into him. He was forced inside the memory, forced to watch Urbosa and Zelda bond as he, the unwanted soldier, stood by. Urbosa had faith in him. She shouldn't have. He was just barely able to control himself when he returned to the present. After agreeing with Riju that they should head over to free Vah Naboris as soon as possible, he stumbled over to a quiet alleyway and let out the contents of his stomach and stayed there a long time, dry heaving and just barely managing to hold back tears.
And it was the same when he went to the Gorons and he saw that statue of Daruk. The same when he visited the Rito and looked at the landing pad. He was dragged into memories and he came out terrified and trembling and wishing he could forget. The memories were all too painful. They weren't worth it. He could swing a sword, the Master Sword even, just fine without them. He avoided the spots where his other memories laid and he continued his journey, his quest to get stronger, and finally he went to defeat Ganon.
He did it just fine without his memories.
"Tell me, do you really remember me?" She asked, and Link replied no, he didn't.
She seemed sad at that, but Link tried to comfort her to the best of his abilities. The old hero from a hundred years ago was dead, but Link now is alive and he would like to get to know her on his own terms.
And he did, and he never regretted it.
But, little did he know, there was another surprise memory waiting to be stumbled upon. The worst one.
The one of how he died.
-o-o-o-o-
They are at the Dueling Peaks Stable. After traveling for so long, the simple stable seems like such a blessing. Wild certainly is relieved to see it. Everyone are in low moods from the large amount of traveling they have just suffered through, most of them are starting to get snappy and full of complaint. Thankfully, just a few minutes of sitting and resting at the stable improves the spirits of the group dramatically.
Wild sits down at the campfire and happily begins to set up for dinner. Wind, Sky, and Hyrule follow after the stable master where he shows them how to care for the sheep. Four is laying in the grass, smiling joyfully as his eyes close contently. Warrior and Legend are enjoying a passive aggressive game of cards. Twilight and Time are inside the stable, setting it up with the second stable master of how to arrange beds and blankets with the sudden amount of guests, or more like trying to discuss how to pay for that. They're being demanded to pay more money because of their excessive amount of numbers. The stable isn't even relenting to Wild being there.
"Did you think you'd get a discount just because you have Link with you! Hah!"
Wild isn't surprised by it at all, in fact, he expected that to happen. Hyrule now is ran by survivors, if they see an opportunity to make a quick rupee, they'll take it. Time and the others aren't used to that. They're used to order, to something having a set value, and Wild will admit that even though they are going to get cheated, he still finds it amusing how much the dirty methods of his Hyrule throw everyone off.
The day passes lazily, yet no one complains about it. Soon enough, Wild has finished a rather large batch of smoked Hyrule bass for everyone in the stable (except for the stable masters of course, they'll have to give them a fair price if they want food). Since there are not enough tables for everyone, Twilight, Time, and Warrior all dragged large pieces of firewood out into the field and set them up around a campfire. The group sat in a circle together as a cool breeze began to blow across the land, as the blue sky began to turn darker and the first stars dare to show.
Wild stuffed a bite of fish in his mouth and sighed in content. It's hard being the cook because you get to smell the food while it's cooking and not get to eat it.
"So, Hyrule and I were walking around," Sky says suddenly and everyone looks up to him except for Hyrule himself; he's a bit busy taking large bites of his fish, so he just nods, "and we saw a herd of wild horses."
"There's a lot of them here," Wild replies. "They're rather tame here too, easy to catch."
"That's why Hyrule and I were thinking we try to catch a few, it would make traveling quicker."
"And easier," Wind mumbled and took a bite of his meal.
"That's a good idea," Time says as he wipes his mouth of the miniscule amount of grease that got on his lip.
"It's going to cost us some more rupees," Wild points out, "the stable can harness the ones we catch."
"We can afford it, you're fish saved us a lot of rupees," Twilight says, grinning. Wild grins back and looks back at the stable where the two stable masters are begrudgingly eating their own meals inside with the rest of the stable dwellers.
They talk a bit more about their plans for the next day and how much time they will need to capture nine horses, Wild says he can catch one per minute and no one believes him. They decide to head to Kakariko Village, it is the closest bit of civilization to them and Kakariko is something most of them have in common. The sun is completely gone now and the moon is beginning to rise as they chat.
They call it a night and gather into the stable. The stable masters have pulled out extra mattresses and every blanket they had so they could make enough sleeping spaces for everyone. Wild lets the stable dwellers get the beds and the group of heroes fall asleep, content, on the absurd amount of blankets on the floor. Well, except Warrior and Wind, they were hoping for beds. Time also is a bit grumbly about it, but that's just because he played the price for nine beds, not nine blanket nests.
-o-o-o-o-
"HYLIA, CURSE IT!" Legend screams as a beautiful blue and white stallion notices him sneaking up on it before running away.
Wild chuckles as he pets the nose of the black mare he had just tamed. In under a minute even. Twilight also managed to tame a horse, though his method was a bit barbaric. He wasn't expecting Twilight to full on wrestle with a horse while wearing iron boots. The mad man. Time at least had the decency to tame his horse normally.
"This place is creepy," Twilight says as he looks around the field around them. His newly captured brown and white spotted horse flicks its ear and he pats it's shoulder.
Wild hums in agreement and glances at their surroundings as well. The field itself is beautiful, it is large and filled with lovely and healthy green grass and hundreds of colorful wildflowers. What made it creepy is the maybe hundreds of lifeless guardian corpses that littered the land. They have no explanation, none of the stable dwellers know how they got there or what has killed them all. Wild didn't really care about it, whatever happened occurred a hundred years ago. Before his time.
The sound of Legend's cursing breaks through the air as Warrior gallops past on a beautiful white steed. He's grinning smugly, as if he's already planning how to rub it in Legend's face that he caught a horse first. Another Horse gallops up and Wild can see Hyrule riding on it with Wind sitting behind him. Wild hopes that their plan to get Wind a horse wasn't to launch Wind off the back of a running one, but judging by their determined looks as they got ever closer to a horse innocently munching on some wild flowers... It is clear that that is their plan exactly.
Four walks up to Wild and sits down next to him breathing hard. "I'm too small," he says, panting. Sky joins them, chest heaving as well.
"They're.… Too fast…." He says between breaths.
Wild rolls his eyes. "You guys aren't doing it right." He walks his horse over to where Time is grooming out the tangles of his horses mane. "I'll show you how it's done," he says.
Time agrees to watch Wild's horse as Wild takes off towards where a beautiful cream colored horse was nipping at the grass. Sky and Four follow along.
Legend swears again and the mare he's been chasing for the past hour streaks further away. "Legend!" Four calls out, "Wild's going to help us! You should come too!"
Legend shoots a glare over to Four and Four wears a satisfied smirk. Wild scoffs at the banter and tries not to laugh.
"Go!" Time calls out, smirking just a little.
Legend looks like he's about to refuse, but then he looks back at his runaway horse and his shoulders sink. Just like that Legend, Four, and Sky are following Wild over to the next hose.
Wild stops a small distance from the horse and crouches down ever so slightly. "Okay, first you have to make sure the horse isn't facing you."
Four elbows Legend in the stomach playfully and Legend mumbles curses under his breath. "Make sure you remember that," Four snarks.
Legend looks like he's about to argue, but then Wild hushes him with a raised eyebrow. Once it was quiet, Wild continues.
"Now, you would sneak slowly up to them, and when you're close enough you jump on. Then, comfort it so it doesn't buck you off. It's easy. Watch-"
He begins to move slowly and silently through the grass, but the horse snaps its neck behind it when Sky accidentally steps on a twig. The horse makes a distressed neigh and sprints off in the opposite direction.
"Sorry," Sky mumbles.
Wild smiles and stands up. "C'mon, let's go find it."
He runs off over to where the horse disappeared to. With the others following behind, he runs over a hill and is about to run down it when he sees the horse still again as it sniffs the flowers, but… something suddenly feels off about the area. More off than normal.
He looks down to where two guardian husks are innocently enough lying toppled on the ground and he finds himself breaking off from the others.
"Wild, the horse is that way," Legend grumbles but Wild is now ignoring them. Something… something was off. Very, very off.
He stops at the bottom of the small hill and looks at the two guardians and his mind starts to go blank. He panics when he realizes what's happening. How has he stumbled upon a memory? He has pictures of them all, and they're all places he had found so he can purposely avoid running into them. This one isn't in there.
He wants out. He wants to scream and scramble backwards because he doesn't want to know what happened here. He doesn't want to know what happened one hundred years ago. He doesn't want to know but his body is stuck, his eyes are staring at the husks and grass is tickling at his shins and Four is asking if he's alright. He would cry no, he's far from okay, if he could find his tongue. The edges of his vision is turning white and he has one final thought of terror before he's plunged into a world of fire.
-o-o-o-o-
He aches. That's the plainest way to say it. His whole body just aches. It aches as he deflects another Guardian from hitting Zelda behind him. It aches as his shield shatters. It aches as a deadly laser explodes along his side and sends him tumbling to the ground.
"Link!" Zelda screams. He can't... He can't fail her now. Not after all they have worked for. "Link, run! Get away from here, I'll be fine…"
He coughs blood into the ground but forces himself to his feet once again with his sword held out. The fire licks at his legs and his whole left side is burning like it's on fire. He can't feel his left ear. He vaguely realizes that it's been melted off.
"Link," Zelda says again, probably through tears, but he can't turn and look because there's another Guardian climbing on top of two dead ones and it's glaring it them.
He can feel his heart jump to his throat and he desperately tries to blink blood out from his eyes as the Guardian rears up and activates it's laser. Link will take this, he will take this blow for Zelda so she can run. She's too important, so important. So, so very important.
The guardian is about to fire and Link is about to close his eyes to accept his fate, but Zelda pushes him out of the way, screaming. The world tips below him and he desperately tries to find his footing. Everything explodes into beautiful golden and Link stares wide eyes at Zelda who has a glowing mark on her hand, who is killing every guardian with each pulse of golden light that erupts from her palm. He sees the guardian flicker sadly before it collapses. Zelda relaxes her posture and looks at her hand like she's surprised.
Link has just a second to think how proud of her he is, how he's not surprised, before he collapses too.
"Link? Link!"
He can feel his body being shaken and it takes all of his strength to keep his eyes open long enough to see her face, begging him not to go. To stay. To help her. "You're going to be okay, Link, we'll get help, we'll-"
Link can only smile a fraction at her before his consciousness is ripped away from him with the sound of her horrified gasp. Everything goes black.
-o-o-o-o-
"Wild?"
He's forced back into the present and he can feel every last scar on his body burn. He stumbles back, looking at the fallen Guardians in a new light that he did not want.
A hand touches his shoulder and he flinches back violently as the realization of what has happened hits him. He's just remembered something, he remembers his death. He bends over and pukes.
"Woah! Wild?!"
He tries to take a deep breath but he can't. His scars are on fire, he can feel each tendril of scarred tissue along his whole body painfully clear. He forgets to stand, and he falls to his knees and bends forward so he's leaning on his elbows, his forehead touching the ground. He's heaving for breaths and everything is so quiet but so loud at the same time.
For a second, he thinks it's like the first time, but then his stomach rebels again and a whimper is forced from his throat as his whole body twinges in agony. The air is too thick, he can't take any in, but he's desperately trying to. He hacks acid from his throat, his breakfast already out of his stomach, and he's about to continue to dry heave until he feels something touch his shoulder.
He flinches. Danger. There's danger. He has to fight- he's always fighting-
He scrambles onto his feet and pulls out his sword, facing the blurry figures in from of him. He blinks and they're Guardians, he blinks again and it's Calamity Ganon, then is Bokoblins and with each breath the enemy shifts and Wild... Link is terrified.
He swings his sword when a figure gets to close, but his weapon is instantly blocked. He can hear yelling through the ringing in his ears and he continues to fight. He has to fight. Protect Zelda. Don't die don't die don't die.
Arms wrap his arms and chest from behind and he's forced to drop his sword. He's locked against the chest of the surprise attacker and it sends his fear through the roof. He screams and kicks his legs back desperately but the restraining hold doesn't relent, it just gets tighter.
Everything is spinning and his body feels so heavy. He unwillingly slumps against his captor. He tries and fails to keep tears at bay. He can feel himself losing consciousness and he wants to fight it, he really does, but… the blackness sounds more comforting than reality.
-o-o-o-o-
Wild wakes up slowly, likes he's trying to swim through mud. Everything hurts, his chest, his head, his arms, and he almost wants to give back into sleep, but there's someone holding onto his hand.
"Wild? Are you awake, cub?"
Wild opens his eyes and blinks at the stable ceiling. He doesn't recall falling asleep here. He groans and lifts his hands to his eyes, rubbing at them until he could see clearly.
"Wild?"
"Hmm?"
He turns his head and sees Twilight sitting at the side of the bed, worry pulling his eyebrows together.
"What happened?" Wild asks. He holds back a hiss of pain as he begins to pull himself up so he's sitting.
"You tell me," Twilight says through a half-hearted chuckle. Wild gives him a look and Twilight clears his throat, sadness overtaking his features. "You… were attacking Legend, Sky, and Wind."
"W-what."
Twilight sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose. "Wild… do you remember what happened at all?"
Wild remains silent for a few seconds, wracking his brain, until he does remember.
He remembers everything.
"Oh," he chokes. "Oh."
"No- cub, don't cry-"
But Wild is. He can feel the tears running down his cheeks as he his whole body loses strength. He slumps back down so he's lying and he brings his hands to his face. He silently let's his tears fall.
"Cub, it's okay, you're okay-" Twilight's hand goes down gently on Wild's shoulder but Wild flinches. He hates that he flinches, especially to a touch from Twilight, but the thought of touch sends nausea bubbling into his stomach. Twilight's hand whips back like he's been burned. Wild doesn't know why that hurts him so much.
"What happened?" Twilight whispers.
Wild shakes his head against the back of the pillow.
"I'm sorry."

Got bored, made a culture.
I was always kind of bugged that the Branwen tribe never really felt like a tribe- there was no sense of family or culture. There weren’t even kids or elderly in the camp. It felt more like a group of thugs than it did a tribe or a family like Raven implied, so I tried to fix that.
I’ve put most of my thought into the clothing so far, but this is probably due to my belief that you can tell quite a bit about a culture from the clothes its people wear.
Inspiration- The Emishi from Princess Mononoke, Kakariko Village from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the real-life cultures of the Ainu, Emishi, Jomon, Japan, and Native Americans.
(Description under the cut)
CLOTHING
Based off of The Ainu Peoples clothing, with lots of geometric patterns and in shades of reds, blues and whites. (Except for the Chief, but that’ll be elaborated on later.)
Men’s clothing is a standard yukata-like top with a sash keeping it closed. Slightly baggy trousers are the pants of choice for men. They wear sandals that cover the top of the foot. Men’s hair tends to be kept short, though some men do grow out their hair. It’s considered very wrong for a man to have hair longer than his shoulders. Men who do so are severely looked down upon, as long hair is a style reserved for women.
Women’s clothing consists of a standard yukata-like top kept closed by a sash, exactly like the men’s. Young women who are not warriors wear skirts that come down to just below the knee, with a pair of cream-colored leggings underneath. These skirts become longer with age, reaching to the woman’s ankles by the time she’s elderly. Warrior women wear baggy trousers just as men do. Sandals that cover the top of the feet are worn in good weather. Long hair is considered customary and proper for women to have, although there are some exceptions, an example being Vernal. The hair is grown out to waist length, and kept up in a bun using several long pins. Some women wear necklaces with red, black, blue, and white beads made from wood.
Both genders wear straw hats when working that keep both sun and rain off their faces. The hats, from the side, look like semicircles, with both edges of the hat drooping down to shield the ears. The edges and center of the hat are painted dark blue. In colder times, both genders wear boots made from leather and furs. They also wear a garment similar to a Japanese fisherman’s coat, which is always dark blue with sashiko stitching. It is often kept together with a red sash, or less often, clasps. This coat is reserved for cold weather or rain.
Children ages 4-12 wear a top that is something of a cross between a tunic and a yukata. The top ends about mid-thigh and is clinched at the waist with a sash. Children wear leggings underneath the top. They, like adults, wear sandals or boots depending on the weather.
Children ages 1-4 wear a dress patterned similarly to older children and adult’s clothing. Children this age tend to go barefoot in the summer, but wear boots in the winter.
Infants are wrapped in swaddling cloth. In the winter, a woolen shawl is wrapped around them.
Chiefs (Edo- Masculine, Edai- Feminine) wear clothes that are in shades red and black. These two colors together are reserved solely for the chief. They wear clothing that’s similar the men’s, although the yukata is a tad longer and comes to slightly above mid-thigh. Most female Chiefs wear leggings under the top, although some opt for the baggy pants. Male Chiefs keep their hair cut short, just like the other men, but female Chiefs wear their long hair down to give off a more intimidating look. The Grimm Helm is passed down from Chief to Chief, and it’s expected for them to wear it only during combat. They also often opt to wear armor on their shoulders and forearms.
(As you can see, I tried to keep as much of Raven’s original design, because damn it it’s a cool design and I wanted to preserve that. Except for the miniskirt. What kinda forty year old war chief wears a miniskirt HONESTLY RAVEN)
~~~
TRIVIA
The people of the Branwen tribe tend to have dark brown or black hair and red eyes. The two traits are unusually dominant, and 75% of all children that have a tribe member and an outsider for parents have one or both of these traits.
Only people born with the Branwen eyes can turn into birds. Yeah, in this universe the shapeshifting thing is due to tribal magic and genetics. Makes more sense in my opinion and saves drama.
It’s a legend in the tribe that the first Branwens descended from the children born to a sky spirit and a mortal woman. The hair and eyes are said to be a trait from him, and the ability to shapeshift was given as a gift from the spirit to his children.
Outsiders who marry into the tribe are expected to take their spouse’s name regardless of gender, or at the very least have their children take their spouse’s name.
All people born to the tribe are named after types of birds, or are given names that mean “bird” or the name of a bird in another language. It’s considered bad luck to not name your child after a bird.
A common way to say goodbye is “Watch your path.” It comes from the days they were hunters and memorized the paths of the forests so they could safely come home. Qrow says it a lot.
If someone leaves the tribe, it’s considered a severing of ties and they won’t be welcome back. The wellbeing of the tribe is the highest priority to them, and anyone who chooses their needs over the tribe is seen as someone who is not needed.
~~~
CULTURE
Their religion, like most religions in Mistral, is heavily based off of East Asian beliefs, however there’s a touch of Native American beliefs as well.. People pray to ancestors and spirits for guidance and blessings. Incense, candles, flowers, and coins are left at graves and shrines. Branwens tend to very religious, celebrating holidays often and give a small weekly offering (in the form of a bit of food, candles, or a coin) to the local shrine. Spirits are very often prayed to, and example being if they have to cross a river, they pray to the spirit of the river for safe passage. Spirits are considered beings to be respected and feared.
Farming is the main source of food/supplies in the tribe. A few small stretches of rice fields lie just outside the village walls. Near the entrance to the village small fields of wheat, barley, tomatoes, cucumbers, and beans grow. The crops are rotated every year, so that barley is in what was tomato’s plot, cucumber in bean’s, etc. A select few farmers raise goats, sheep, and chickens.
If the tribe begins running short on supplies or need money, they’ll organize bandit raids on other settlements. The items they steal during raids are either taken back to the tribe, or taken to markets to be sold or traded for supplies or weapons. The tribe doesn’t have a big enough forge for the creation of any sort of advanced, Huntsman-level weaponry. This is why they have to buy weapons from outside sources.
Qrow and Raven’s weapons were built at Beacon because of this.
The tribe is rather small, consisting of about 100 people, and 20 families overall. The oldest Branwen within the family is considered the head of the family. They’ll meet together with the Chief every three weeks, discussing problems and how to fix them, or ways to improve upon situations already in their favor. What the Chief says is deeply respected, however, the Chief must respect their people’s words as well. Votes are taken on issues and the majority vote wins.
Anyone who is elderly is considered someone to be revered, as they were able to survive well into old age. Advice from an Elder is almost always followed, due to their age and wisdom.
~~~
As you can see, it’s just random stuff for now. And I know that this couldn’t all make it in, but at least a bit of it could be shown through background characters in the tribe (clothing), little things Qrow and Raven say and do (traditions/religion/cultural attitudes), establishing shots (the farming), etc. It’d make the tribe feel like a group of real people and families rather than a plot point.
This stuff ain’t perfect, obviously. I was bored and tired when I wrote this, so I don’t expect it to be. However, I just wish we had seen something similar to this in the show. They had a really good chance to show the sort of life that Qrow and Raven had growing up, and they didn’t take it. Which made me sad.
7 + 8 with Yuzu and Vaati!
How do you handle conflicts? Do you stop talking and take days to reconcile or are you pretty good about talking your problems out?
🦊Yuzu struggles with expressing emotions since she doesn't really have the words to describe them, so things come out very explosively. As her parent, I really have to make sure I'm reading between the lines and not what she's literally saying, which is hard when she says things that make me upset! But I do my best!!! Our conflicts do not go on for days but are resolved within a pretty quick timeframe.
💜Vaati! With Wendy, he tends to be willing to talk and discuss conflicts and they both handle that pretty well. With Crystalline? No fucking way flkjdsahf those two will have conflicts that go on for MONTHS...it is so bad. Wendy might intervene to help some of the time if possible. This is very much not helped by Crystalline's tendency to go fuck off to be alone in an entire 'nother part of the world when mad.
Have they given you any nicknames? If so do you love or hate them and why?
🦊I'm Mom to Yuzu :D Yuzu gives just about everyone else nicknames but I am Mom and she likes it that way. Clayman is Clayfather, Laplace is Laplacle, Tear is Auntear, and Footman is Footle fdkjsahfkjds
💜Vaati with Wendy would only be affectionate things, perhaps even just "sis" affectionately or "little sis" even though their triplets. Wendy likes that. Crystalline...not so much XD "brat" is more likely and Crystalline resents that naturally-
any 3 of the sibling asks for anyone :o
thanks @kittyandco!! for my totk SIs
🎂 How are you two with food? Do you share food freely or do you try and steal food from the other person?
Wendy and Vaati share pretty freely. Crystalline is quite possessive but can be persuaded to make a trade fdsahkjfdhsakj
♥️ Does either of you ever tease the other about crushes/romantic partners? How does that go?
Crystalline is the easiest to tease. There's a brief period after everything before both Mipha and Urbosa make their moves on their respective future partners, and in that time Crystalline is quite a mess about Mipha. Though, honestly, Wendy is really only trying to be encouraging, Crystalline takes it as brutal teasing and retaliates.
And so Wendy must bear the brunt of excessive teasing about Urbosa XD so we end up with both of them flustered out of their minds over Women.
If/when Vaati gets a crush, he's going to get teased by both Wendy and Crystalline. Crystalline is trying to fluster him to death while Wendy is interested in the slightly gentle version of that and of wingmanning for him- HEWKJHFKJEW
🎳What is your favorite activity to do together?
Crystalline and Vaati do enjoy sparring together quite a bit, even if it looks competitive and aggressive. It's a way that they can connect (and no one else can really keep up except perhaps Link) without words.
Wendy and Vaati like to sit in scenic locations and chat, maybe while having a picnic! Just relaxing and catching up!!!
Wendy and Crystalline...why is this the hardest one KJFHEKJWHF they have such disparate interests. Cooking (Kakariko recipes especially), even if they fight the entire time. Any Sheikah rituals (like prayer) that they grew up doing together. I think they enjoy engaging with Sheikah culture and Kakariko together. Habit in many ways.
now thinking about Urbosa and Mipha again and my two SIs and my AUing Vaati into all that as well-
kisses strong pretty handsome women
I have a Resurrection AU for the Champions where they were basically also put in resurrection chambers like Link. I think now I'd like to have the two SIs exist as siblings (Crystalline who embodies the image of a strong Sheikah ninja with their own special barrier ability, and Wendy who inherits none of the Sheikah appearance markers and is very knowledgable in ancient tech) along with Vaati as their adopted brother (black sheep of the village). Crystalline and Wendy were prophesized as helping to usher in the return of Link and the Champions to aid Zelda in defeating Calamity Ganon.
There's a whole slew of complex relationships here which I won't get into now cause I am going to sleep but in the end Crystalline and Mipha end up together and Wendy and Urbosa end up together :3c
(if you're interested feel free to ask me about this, I have it very well fleshed out despite having posted almost no fic even if you go way back...)
🌈 💐 🥕 ~ rebeccaselfships
Spring Asks! Thanks @rebeccaselfships! I will do these for Vaati (my bro!!) re Wendy and Crystalline
🌈Spring is in the air! What most excites you about spring?
The warmer weather is definitely pleasant. When I was with the Yiga Clan, I spent so much time in the Gerudo Desert, where the changing of the seasons hardly means anything. In Kakariko and Central Hyrule, it does make a more substantial difference.
...seeing the flowers bloom sounds nice.
💐Are you knowledgeable about flowers/flower language? Regardless, design a bouquet for SI! It can be based on color, meaning, or whatever you like!
Not in the slightest. I never paid attention to things like that. I, uh, wouldn't know where to start with designing something like a bouquet. Wendy's favorites are the nightshades, so I'd probably give them a bouquet of those...?
Heh, for Crystalline though I'll give them voltfruit. It comes from a cactus, which is a plant that's almost as prickly as Crystalline is. If I'm lucky maybe they'll accidentally zap themself.
🥕Do you or SI do any gardening? If not, do you keep any houseplants?
I don't. I mean, ugh, I learned how to grow bananas, but that's something I'd rather forget...damn Yiga. I don't keep any houseplants either. Until the Upheaval, I was helping Wendy look after her Kakariko garden plot while she was away in Gerudo Town with Urbosa. That thing was a mess. I tidied it up and got everything into neat, organized rows. I wonder if anyone is watching over it now...
@singingdeepinme you said in the tags of your post you were curious about my botw Champions lived AU so!!! I am tagging you :)
Basically, my AU is that there were far more Sheikah agents and 4 additional Resurrection Chambers. It was foreseen (though not spoken about amongst the Sheikah) that the plan might fail - so they were somewhat prepared for that. The Resurrection Chambers already existed and they were scouted out by the Sheikah ahead of time as well. It turned out that there was one in each region...too good to be a coincidence.
So, everything goes wrong, and instead of the Champions dying with their souls trapped in the Divine Beasts, they are brought to the Resurrection Chambers close to their lands. The chambers are hidden, and outside of the Sheikah, no one knows about them.
Now, we have some divergence based on which SI of mine is involved. Continued under the cut.
My original si (botw!SI) is not a Sheikah, but was raised in Kakariko. She is meant to find the Champions ahead of Link’s resurrection (she was never told this explicitly). There are challenges involved to resurrect them and puzzles to find them. They should not be resurrected too soon. Of course, botw!SI runs off from the village to investigate ruins, visit her brother Vaati who joined the Yiga Clan but still doesn’t want her to get hurt, and conveniently finds and resurrects Urbosa (and falls in love fkjsahsjk). They quest around to awaken the remaining Champions, and then when they hear rumors of Link awakening, they head back to their domains, keeping their identities a secret. Wendy goes to Kakariko, where she meets Link when he comes to speak to Impa for something (he’s been awake for some time).
Each Champion helps Link out to defeat the Blights! And then man’s their Divine Beast while Link goes to fight Ganon. Against better judgement botw!SI might follow Link...but I haven’t figured that out yet ;)
Sheikah!SI is a Sheikah, but she and Impa aren’t actually aware that the Champions were successfully put into Resurrection Chambers. It was assumed to be a failure at that time, because no one was able to report back. Sheikah!SI is told she has a role to play in helping the Champion. She’s been trained for it extensively. But she’s often running off to chase after her adopted brother (Vaati) who joined the Yiga Clan, or going off to do what she wants when she and Impa continue to not get along. She wants to help people (like Zora’s Domain who is flooding) even though she knows she couldn’t take down the Divine Beasts and their associated Blights. After a particularly bad argument, she goes to Zora’s Domain, and finds Mipha’s Resurrection Chamber (and falls in love KJFWHE).
Impa is incensed that I did this when she finds out, of course. Even though it’s good, resurrecting the Champions was always meant to be for Link to do. Oops.
Much as like as the other situation, we go and resurrect everyone, and formulate a plan for when Link wakes up. Little do we know he’s already woken up. I learn this when I return to Kakariko with everyone back at their domains. While we’ve been planning and getting the Champions back in shape, Link has been...also doing that, ish. So again they help him out, take control of their Divine Beasts, Ganon time.
Sheikah!SI definitely goes along to provide support for Link as he fights Ganon, which is good, because Vaati chooses this time to make his move to try and beat Vaati and assert himself as the strongest. He overestimated his own strength badly and Sheikah!SI rescues him. (something like this happens in the other arc too but still sorting it out) Link defeats Ganon and all is well!
Anyway hope that was interesting! It’s very self indulgent (and as such has a few plot holes) but I’m happy with it anyway :) I love my two Champion girlfriends uwu
#botw si#sheikah si#modern history#wash over me#to be like you#black sheep of kakariko#we didn't touch on these two but#rainfall in the ruins#bared teeth and hearts#fic#ish#yours feels a lot more COHESIVE to me but mine is self indulgent for self inserting so it doesn't surprise me!#also I would love to discuss my SIs meeting Bazz and Kenton eyes emoji
2, 4, 7 and 11 for anyone you'd like? :3
Going to do these with Vaati and my botw si! Thank you friend
2. do you live together/have you lived together before?
When we were growing up, we lived together in Kakariko! For a bit we lived in Impa’s place with Paya, but as we got older and could take care of ourselves Vaati and I moved to a separate home. Eventually he left (and then I left) and we haven’t lived together since.
4. how do they comfort and support you?
He’s my younger brother - seeing me sad always upset him a great deal. He would take me to see my favorite places, like the shrine at the top of the hill, or to find the Blupee to cheer me up. And, of course, hugs and snuggles.
Once we grew up, he got a bit rougher, and the way he tends to support me tends to be less touchy feely. It tends to be more like threatening to fight people (or monsters) and actually doing it to protect me, and making sure to always listen carefully when I tell him about things that interest me.
7. what is your favorite holiday to celebrate together, and what do you do on said holiday?
Ah hm I’m not sure what holidays they have in Hyrule! However, if there is a costume based holiday like Halloween, we loved that one as children. It was a chance for both of us to be someone else for a bit - not to be the orphan black sheep of the village, but to be heroes of our own making (our villains, depending on the year).
11. what do they do for you when you’re hurt or sick?
As kids there wasn’t much he could do for me. He would try his best to patch me up if I got a cut, but in the end he always needed to find an adult to help. When I would be sick he would often stay with me and make up stories to tell me. It was so sweet ;w;
As an adult he actually knows how to bandage wounds (from lots of experience) so he can take care of me pretty well! He’s the kind to tell me I’m an idiot for getting hurt or sick but he’ll watch over me very carefully. And sometimes, I ask him to tell me a story, and he usually tells me something from the times when we were apart.
