Yooo!!! Your writing is so wonderful!!! If u don't mind, little old me would like to ask...... For a headcanon or scenario of a yandere L from Death Note??? No pressure, of course! Keep being amazing!!! ~☁️
He is my favorite character in that whole show! I would love to write for him--thank you for suggesting; I honestly wouldn't have thought to do that by myself ❤️
Thank you for reading and being sweet!
I suppose I should be listing the dark themes I include before the work, so I guess I will do that now
kidnap, obsession
Yandere L x Reader
Tumblr media
It is nearly impossible to know what goes on inside the strange, black-haired man's head
Incredibly smart and observant, but retaining a childish craving for sweets and hatred of footwear
Perhaps he meets you as a detective trying to unravel the massive dilemma of Kira, or perhaps just a civilian with more observational abilities than is good for you
Whatever the situation, I think he would taken with you more so if you're able to reflect his witty and spontaneous intelligence to some degree
His methods might seem extreme to some, but he does what he must in order to unravel the truth
L does care about those on the force, though demonstrated more through his actions than his words
I think this is how would you know he has taken interest in you
Ryuzaki would indulge in his growing obsession with you by testing you
Your reactions, instincts, and problem-solving abilities fascinate him
Although it may seem unusual, kidnapping you may not be too far out of his realm of possibilities
Even if he doesn't, you will have to get used to being constantly surveyed by him
That is, if you are even aware of it
Watching you is a source of light entertainment to him, like watching junk televison
L wouldn't intentionally be a creep, though that doesn't make his obsessive behavior any better
He feels he can be closer to you only by learning everything about you
For that reason, you might end up feeling like a lab rat
If he ends up kidnapping you, he will test your capabilities of escaping the confines he has set up for you
He knows you can't escape him, but it fascinates him to see you try, to see you improving and earning from your previous each attempts, to try to peer in on your thoughts...
You would only know how truly and terribly obsessed he is when he calmly and unpassionately explains to you his feelings
Or by the fact you are locked up
He is not someone who is keen on verbal or physical affection, but he likes holding you
Hearing your breathing and heartbeat make him feel at ease
L knows his feelings for you are illogical and morally unsavory, but he does not all that much care
Perhaps in the pursuit of justice, a few immoral actions can be overlooked along the way

Some Zadrish fanfic
So I was bored and wrote a story. It's Dib's birthday, and Zim wants to make him something nice. ;o; enjoy !
________________
Ding dong. Ding dong. Ding dong.
Zim's male-bathroom-frontdoor went. "The dooR is RINGING!!!" Gir exclaimed, sputtering out popcorn bits and kernels from his mouth all over the couch and gigantic television screen.
Zim hissed, his tongue squirming out. "Then answer it!!!" He shouted from his workspace. He was highly focused on what he was creating. It was almost Dib's 17th birthday, and Zim wanted to make him something. He'd learn over the years humans gifted each other things on the day of their birth. While Zim found it odd to receive something every year just for being born, he wanted to contribute. Even Dib's sister, Gaz would give a present to Dib on his birthday. So it must be a big deal.
He hovered over the tiny machine, cranking his gloved-hand, twisting some gear in with some irken tool. He only now suddenly realized what he'd instructed Gir to do:
"Wait!!! No! Don't answer it!" Zim dropped his tool and his backpack's mechanical legs sprung out and rose him into the air, out of the kitchen toilet, and crawled him over to the living room where Gir was turning the knob open with his sticky, metal hands. The door swung open, and there stood a tall, scrawny earth boy. Dib-stink.
"Dib!" Zim lowered himself and let his spider legs contract into his pac. He walked over, his head looking up at the now, very tall boy. Tall, compared to Zim, at least. Zim was only the size of an 11 year old human worm baby, and he had been the past 100 of years.
"It's your BOYFREN, Master!!!" Gir pointed at Dibs large head. Zim scrunched his face up. "Dib-stink is not Zim's BOYFRIEND, Gir. He's my human-friend."
Gir scratched confusingly at his chin. "But he's a boY! Or is he???" Gir looked up at Dib and Dib frowned. "I dunno!!!" Gir yelled, then flung himself in front of the television.
Dib bent down and patted Zim on his head, making Zim lay his antennas back.
He closed his big, red bug eyes, letting Dib run his hands to the tips of his said antennas. It made him tingle-- it was a weird, but giddy feeling. "What are you doing here?" Zim asked, pointing a finger at Dib. Dib let himself in, and sat on the couch, careful not to sit on Gir's cheeto-taquito-pizza-popcorn mess.
Zim sighed. "Sorry about that. Gir is just REALLY filthy." Zim said, his voice deepening at "filthy", as he shook his small fist. Gir responded to hearing his name: he looked up at them, squeaked stuck his tongue out, screamed and looked back at the televison.
Dib chuckled. "It's fine. I just came to stop by. Maybe hang out a little. Gaz has her emo friends over and they really scare me."
Zim gave Dib a confused look. "'Emo'? What is an 'emo'? There is a different type of human called an emo????"
Dib shook his head. "No. Well... yes. But not really. They're the same kind of human as me, just.... their personality. Yeah, that's it! They've got a dark, depressed, angry, black personality. They uh, don't have the best reputation."
"Ah. Well. Nice of you to stop by Dib, but I've got a lot of work to do." Zim pointed at the door.
"Huh? But I just got here-"
"No, no, I haven't got the time." Zim grabbed Dibs hand and and stood him up, then pushed him to the door.
Dib scoffed. "What could you possibly be working on? I thought you said you were done trying to destroy our planet?" Dib raised his brow and crossed his arms.
"Yes, I am. I... I've got to make... waffles! Yes. For dinner! Waffles."
Gir swung his head around. "WAFFLES!!!"
"Yes."
"WaaaAAAFFFLESSS! YEAH! WAFFLES! AHAHAHAHHAHA! AAAAAH!" Gir sprinted to the kitchen leaving a trail of smoke behind.
Zim looked back at Dib. "Well, see you later Dib-stink. I've got lots of waffle-making to do."
"I thought you hated waffles!"
Zim looked down. "I've grown a liking to them."
"No you haven't."
"Yes I have."
"What's your favorite kind?"
".....Poopdog."
".....You're lying."
Zim closed the door, turned on his heel and went into the kitchen where Gir had already gotten bowls together full of batter made of soap and bacon. "MmmmMM! MMMMHMMM! MMMMM, MMM, MMM! YeaH! WAFFLES!"
Zim stuck his tongue out and went over to his kitchen toilet.
Gir gasped. "Master!!!! Where are you going?! We have to make waffles!!!" Gir threw the bowl in the air and it landed on his head.
"I was LYING, Gir. To get Dib out of our base. I'm making him a present, remember? Humans get each other presents on their... birth... days."
Gir blinked. "You aren't a human!"
"That's not the point, Gir! Now leave me alone. Make the waffles. I've got to go." He flushed himself down and dropped back into his lab.
"Computer."
"Whaaaat."
"Play Despacito everywhere in the house to keep Gir entertained. And lock the toilet."
"Okay."
The song began and so did Zim's work and Gir's waffle making.
He excitedly mixed a new batter, throwing randon ingredients like garlic and cat litter. "Yehahhhhh!!! DEH.SPAH.CITO!!!!" Gir laughed like a maniac and mixed faster, then threw the batter onto the stove.
•••
Three hours went by. Three hours of despacito. Playing over and over again.
Finally, Zim was done. He rose out of the toilet and gagged. The smell of the waffles... so... sickening. And the sound of the song, too. "Aughck!!!" He covered his mouth and walked into the living room.
Gir jumped out from behind the couch and startled him. "Oh!!!! There you are. Did you eat all those waffles?" He hoped to God he did.
"No of course not! I made some for youuuu."
"No thanks." Zim turned in his seat and flipped through TV channels. An aspirin commercial came on, showcasing an elderly man strolling down a sidewalk, and suddenly breaking his spine, then having a seizure. Zim frowned.
Gir whipped out a giant stack of waffles and set them on the coffee table. "There you gO!" He laughed. Zim shook his head.
"I don't want any."
Gir teared up and threw a tantrum. "No! God! NO! Not again!!!" Zim covered where he would have ears.
The rest of the night was Gir's screaming, despacito, and the burning smell of waffles and gravy.
•••
Zim gave Dibstink his gift it was a big batman mobile full of cheese the end

Luke Cage Is Back for Another Season This Summer!
Luke Cage is back again for another season between this and The Punisher Netflix isn’t joking when wanting to give fans exactly what they are asking for. Was wondering what happened to Luke Cage I see last year was a busy year for all of us but Netflix kept the light shinning with Luke Cage as he worked with show The Defenders. Many can relate with The Defenders as it was about 4 individuals (Dare Devil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage) coming together while dealing with there own problems. The Punisher took a different approach as my 2 favorite comic books from my childhood I think Netflix pulled off the look and feel of both characters while making it enjoyable entertainment.
The new season of Luke Cage will start on June 22, 2018 I am impressed with the time and effort that was put into bringing this into a new era. To get ready for the new season I suggest checking out Season 1, The Defenders and The Punisher watch the trailers below.

This is a post from Season 1 of Luke Cage with the upcoming new season wanted to post this again to remind everyone of the vibe and original music that put into it and the originality of the character himself.
Luke Cage (Power Man) was one of my favorite childhood comic book characters right next to The Punisher, between the two I collected a good amount of comics. I got the Power Man and Iron Fist comics from a book store that was going out of business. I don't think they new the value of the old comics they had because they were selling them for what it said on the cover and some of the old comics they had like Fantastic Four were 25 cent. Either way I got everything I could I was already into Cage but didn't know too much about the Power Man and Iron Fist comics. So I got to a better understanding of the character and it was cool to see how his style evolves with the time and what is going on the current era.
To me he was the Marvel's version of a Black Superman, his skin was bulletproof, and had super human strength that he got from an scientific experiment that only he could survive. A lot of people can relate to the character after going to prison for a crime he didn't commit he gets out and wants to change his life for the positive and starts a hero for hire business. Standing up for those who can't and trying to change the neighborhood for the better.
This is why I am interested and also glad that Netfilx is giving Cage his own show starting September 30th I can't wait to see what they are going to do with the story and what direction they are going to go with the character. The official trailer below gives us a sneak look at what to expect and next to 50 Cent's Power it is definitely a must see.

The Year 2020
Tumblr media
'Cos when the madman flips the switch The nuclear will go for me The lunatics have taken over the asylum
(Lyrics from The Fun Boy Three, British pop group, 1981)
*  *  *
The world has been in one crisis or another for so long now, it gets harder to remember when things still seemed to be in balance, or when they started to spin out of control. When did this slow agony start, the malaise that won't go away, the chaos and distopia year after year?
Or was it always like this?
I'm not thinking so much about the coronavirus epidemic, but about the other man-made disaster that kept us on edge throughout the year, the US elections.
Looking for answers, my first, intuitive stop remains the morning of September 11, 2001 when the world order was convulsed in that split second needed for an airliner to fly into the World Trade Center. It may be that our understanding of that day is still skewed by the deep symbolism of the visuals: the fire ball, the people jumping to their deaths, the towers collapsing on themselves, the mountain of smoking rubble. Images that came to define our age. But what seems certain is that the big wheel of history ground to a standstill on that day and when it started up again, it had gone into reverse. That regression has not stopped, indeed it is still gathering pace and is very much in evidence as 2020 comes to a chaotic end.
Of course, 9/11 was the outcome of forces set in motion much earlier including the Iranian revolution in 1979 when an unsmiling, bearded imam left Paris and arrived in Tehran. The world would never be the same, but we in the West did not realize it.
Donald Trump's seemingly farcical plea to Make America Great Again can be traced back to either of those events and to the American failure to make sense of them -- the end of the pax Americana, the myth of American exceptionalism, the twilight of the colonial world order that had been in the making for five hundred years. Americans closed ranks and reacted with defiant nationalism after 9 /11. Then they took their revenge to the world and declared War on Terror - just as the terrorists had intended.
Those events are still within living memory. Looking back further, historians like to point to the invention of moveable type which ushered in the information age and, with it, modernity. The first books 'rolling off' Johannes Gutenberg's press were bibles. But not for long. Since the printing press couldn't be controlled, books conveyed a profusion of radically new ideas. They brought democratization and they spread dissent. Think Martin Luther, or Copernicus, great disrupters of the sixteenth century.
But Donald Trump?
Was Trump the accidental result of reality TV, celebrity culture and internet-driven narcissism? Or did his flirtation with autocratic rule herald the necrosis of western democracies? Was Trump merely the symbol of America's irreconcilable differences, of the slow dissolution of white patriarchy or was he the inevitable outcome of late-stage capitalism, as some have suggested?
Where should we look? The Trump years have produced a cottage industry of scholarly attemtps to explain how something like this could happen, how the United States could start to degenerate like that. Where do we find the logic that would lead to this turning point in history?
Without pretending that I could add to this (lack of) understanding, I must admit that the question is compelling. It kept me busy all year, or at least until the American presidential election was finally over.
I have tried to approach the matter from a few angles.

Attempt A
Multiplication of the box
I remember the deep dark varnish of our first television set, an imposing piece of furniture sitting on rather slender round legs. The cardboard box it had arrived in was large enough to serve as my play house, with a door and windows, until it got rained on one day. The TV set itself started to hum when you turned it on and needed time to warm up before the picture appeared, monochrome of course. From the back you could see the glowing tubes inside and smell the dusty heat they emitted. When one of the tubes failed, the repairman had to come.
There was one channel, run by the Belgian state and broadcasting for a few hours in the evening. It seemed adequate at the time. More would have been too much. Programming was low-tech. The national weatherman stood in front of a flip chart and drew the weather map by hand: rainclouds here, sunshine there (though not so much) and low or high pressure fronts further afield, most likely over the Azores.
In fact there was another state channel but it was for the French speaking part of Belgium and thus foreign to us in Flanders. Furthermore there was a knob to switch the unit from standard definition (625  lines) to the broadcast standard in France which had 819 lines and allowed us, in theory, to capture programming from RTF, la Radio-télévision française across the border. Although we never did, I remember le général Charles de Gaulle addressing the French nation with a grandiloquent 'Françaises, Français!' followed by a theatrical pause. I used to imitate him as a child. 'Françaises, Français!'. I had never been to France.
This went on for some years until we upgraded to colour. The new set also allowed us to watch two channels from Holland. Although the programming rotated between party-political and religious organizations, everything that was Dutch looked more sophisticated. It probably was. Eventually cable TV came along and, like everyone else, we moved to twelve channels, then twenty-four, then hundreds after which the numbers became meaningless. Today the distinction between television and the internet has faded as billions of people have become broadcasters, sending and receiving videos on their phones every day.
In a matter of only two or three generations technology has increased our awareness and our exposure to reality from the very local to the infinitely global. From smudgy local newspapers to single-channel black-and-white TV to the torrent of youTube and Whatsapp. Each increment, each multiplication of channels and choices has fragmented our common understanding of what the world is like. This means not only that every problem in every corner of the world has become our problem, it also signals that reality itself has split into a billion pieces and has become complex, uncertain and unstable. We all live in our own bubble of perception, increasingly removed from the broader context that used to bring coherence to society. While some of us embrace the complexity of the 21st century, to others it translates as confusion and anxiety. It is a reality they have retreated from.
Personally, I put my last TV on the sidewalk fifteen years ago, the very set I had used to watch the unfolding history on the morning of 9/11. It was still working, someone picked it up.

Attempt B
Entertainment Forever
Long ago, when General Electric was one of America's preeminent industrial giants, it owned the Radio Corporation of America (known by the once ubiquitous acronym RCA) which in turn owned the National Broadcasting Company or NBC. America's first radio network was founded in New York City in 1926 "in the interest of the listening public" and in order to transmit, among other things, baseball scores. NBC television started in 1939 and (fuzzy) colour came in 1954. Announcing the birth of broadcast television in the USA, David Sarnoff, NBC's pioneering founder, described it as 'so important in its implications that it is bound to affect all society'.
Indeed it has.
Like Donald Trump, Roone Arledge (1931-2002) was born in Queens, New York. After a stint at NBC television he joined the rival ABC network as a sports producer in 1960. He soon started to rewrite the book on television production, putting his stamp on the world we live in. Starting at the Munich Olympic games in 1972, ABC ran a series of intimate portraits of Olympic athletes, called 'Up Close and Personal'. The words became shorthand for what sports would look like on American TV. The visual grammar shifted from being 'coverage' of events to a one-on-one experience with the viewer, a personal touch.
The formula jumped species in 1977 when Arledge became president of ABC News, one of the three commercial US networks with large news operations. The avuncular news readers of old (Walter Cronkite on CBS) gave way to a personality driven approach. Anyone remember Barbara Walters or Mike Wallace? As production values became a lot flashier, all of television became more like entertainment, including the news - just another 'show' looking for an audience and revenue.
The next milestone on the road to trash TV was 'Entertainment Tonight' (launched in 1981 and still going today, making it the longest running syndicated show on American cable TV). Shockingly and confusingly, it used a news format without being actual news. As the boundaries between news and entertainment started to blur, so did the distinction between gossip and verifiable fact. Credibility and substance faded from televison news, replaced by looks, celebrity, lifestyle, etc. Network comedy shows became major purveyors of political commentary. This cross-pollination of genres is still spreading today as journalists are being replaced by content originators, human today, most likely virtual tomorrow. In other words: commerce is still gaining ground while reality is losing traction.
When 'Big Brother' came along in 1997, so-called reality shows moved to the centre of the entertainment landscape. By that time the medium had evolved well beyond UC&P. Four-and-a-half years ago, I reflected on how reality TV had become "manipulative, sadistic and liberating - from caution, from human empathy and from rational thought. What wasn’t perhaps so crystal clear at the beginning was how trash TV would inflect politics, how it tapped into the disillusionment of a burgeoning global underclass. Barely perceptible then, the phenomenon eventually turned into rage against the political establishment and anything associated with it. The anger came from both sides of the political divide, from the rebelliousness of the Occupy movement on the left and from the fear-driven populism on the right."
Out of this fantasy world of uninhibited entertainment, celebrity and alienation stepped Donald Trump and declared he was running for the presidency of the United States. Four years of monosyllabic misrule later, he left America as damaged goods, a nation at war with itself.
Attempt C
Fact check till you drop
Watching the news on commercial TV at the local coffee shop few weeks ago, I was struck by the rough, frenzied pace of the editing. The stories were cut with an axe, as we used to say in the business. No shot lasted more than a second and the interview clips did not exceed three seconds. Far from being careful storytelling, it was pure media mash, exhausting to watch and obviously designed to keep the viewers hooked and the ratings up.
I wondered how anyone subjected to such visual bombardment could make sense of the news, complicated as it is, and not become neurotic or disoriented in one way or another? OK, I may be a little naive for it can be argued it's been like this since the invention of the cinema in 1895. Our brains have had more than a century to adapt to the stimulus of the ever moving, ever accelerating image. We've had manic TV commercials and split-second music videos for forty years, ever since MTV was launched in New York in 1981. People scroll trough their devices as fast as their thumbs will let them, consuming hundreds of images per minute.
But information programming should be different, or it used to be. News was supposed to be 'readable' as fact-based information viewers could easily de-code to figure out what was happening around them. Except that, for many, it isn't anymore.
Post-truthism didn't start with Donald Trump, but the perversion of reality took an ugly turn with him. The very words, 'truth', 'lies', have come to seem quaint, suspect, disfigured. In the early days of his presidency, armies of diligent fact checkers went to work to expose each and every presidential lie. They toiled in vain. Trump, the real estate salesman and former casino owner, lied without fear or favour, he had nothing but contempt for evidence-based reality and for those whose job it was to convey it. He scolded journalists, telling them they should be ashamed of themselves. His followers loved it. They were grateful for the steady stream of twisted thinking, incoherence and outright lies because they were in sync with their own prejudices - no, make that their own beliefs.

Attempt D
Put God back into the USA
"To a great many Americans, digital communication has already rendered empirical, observable reality beside the point."
Farhad Manjoo, writing in the New York Times, Oct 21, 2020.
Those Americans, it seems, believed that Donald Trump was divinely appointed to be president of the USA and to make America great again. God's will had been done and should not be thwarted by voters. Clearly, if they believed that, they believed anything. That the coronavirus was an evil plot or that COVID 19 could be stopped by injecting yourself with Lysol disinfectant or eating pods of laundry detergent. If Bill Gates was funding vaccines that would turn god-fearing dairy farmers into atheists, then George Soros was the mastermind behind it all. Or was it Warren Buffett?  Communists were plotting a coup. Why not?
The mood got more unhinged and delusional as the year unfolded. Pro life, pro God, pro gun. Stop socialism. Put God back into the USA. When election day finally came, Democrats and Republicans rushed to the polls to save the country from the other side. Country hicks to one side, big-city satanists to the other. Although sanity eventually prevailed, it was touch and go. Far from repudiating Trump and holding him to account, more than seventy-four million Americans voted to let him stay in office.
In other words, although Trump and his royal court have been sidelined for now, the threat of an erratic America remains, driven by suspicion, ready to go off the rails again. The unbending fervour of fundamentalist Christians, focused on the abomination of abortion and the deviancy of LGBTQ+ rights has reached an intensity that is ever more reminiscent of Islamist extremism.
Mis and disinformation aren't new. Nor are they specific to any country. Most advertising qualifies as such. But the impaired thinking, the decline of reason and the contempt for manifest reality reached bizarre heights in 2020 and not only because Donald Trump used disinformation with such abandon. It looked more like a crisis of mental health propagated by social media. An American study found that young people were more likely to believe online conspiracy theories while only those over 65 had a secure grip on reality.
Social media drove the loss of empathy and civility, they normalized hate speech, they empowered virus deniers and antivaxxers. Finally they legitimized many Americans in their belief that the election had been ‘stolen’.
It was obvious, four years ago, that a Trump presidency would have incalculable consequences. But it was worse than almost anyone could have predicted. It wasn't about his vulgarity or his philistinism. The power vacuum created by having an idiot king in the White House made the world a more dangerous place where malevolent autocrats could do as they pleased because the West had lost whatever credibility and leverage it used to have.
The new era of impunity pushed hundreds of millions of citizens further into the arms of dictators and autocrats, plunderers and torturers around the world, from North Korea to Belarus, from Egypt to Myanmar because they knew they had a like-minded colleague in the White House. Political rivals could be poisoned and journalists jailed or disappared, it no longer mattered. Rather than restore America to greatness, Trump's monosyllabic rule brought decadence to the United States and ruin to global stability.
It still hasn't been widely grasped just how much power has shifted towards Russia and even more to China. The People's Republic is forging ahead in AI and machine learning, in aerospace, in digital currency, in quantum computing and in G6 data mobility. It is likely to give China an unassailable lead in technology and leave the West standing in the dust, complaining about totalitarianism.
The American election and the pandemic pushed almost everything else off the table in 2020, the explosion of Beirut's harbour, the Chinese clampdown in Hong Kong, quick-and-dirty wars in Ethiopia and Azerbaijan, global warming (open water near the north pole, smouldering Siberia, biblical wildfires in Australia), the popular uprisings in Minsk, Lagos, Kampala, Bangkok, etc.
Until the very end of this most difficult, gruesome year, the president of the Unted States did nothing but talk nonsense. He cared about nothing or anyone except himself.
As the cracks in American society widened and the disenchanted masses turned on each other, Donald Trump played golf and watched America burn. Already the race is on to stop him from being reelected four years from now.

Prague actually holds Broadcast Free Europe/Radio Freedom (RFE/RL), makinged its label televison broadcasting right into Russia and also its own communist allies throughout the Cold War and is actually funded by the U.S. Congress. When you locate that excellent gothic baby title for your child, always remember to look at the implication of the title and also consider just exactly how dark as well as brooding you wish that to become. Blogging though the internet is something fairly new and very much high demand since social media. Blogging is the new trend and the way to find out what’s the hot topic in the entertainment business and sometime world’s news without reading the newspaper. The great part about blogging it’s like your own personal newspaper and your own outcome, opinion with some facts.
This blog that I will be writing is about reality television and sitcoms. Sitcoms has always been around ever since television was created it went from black and white to full color. Over time television has brought about a change for everyone. To be specific it was once upon a time where kiss, foul language, nude and sex was never present on television it was prohibited. Reality television has changed that for everyone. Because reality television was the first to do those things, it opened up the door for the sitcoms to do so. Some people might think all reality television goes under one umbrella but that’s totally not true at all there are several different kind of reality just like it’s different genres of music. In this blog I will focus my facts and attention on urban, ratchet, trap television the ones that set the trend and make the other reality shows and stars stop and stare. As far a sitcom I will focus on African American sitcom like Underground, Grey’ Anatomy, Scandal and many more.
Urban reality television has brought out the worst in people from time to time. It have also help people in finical ways and help other producers find their creativity and way to reality televison. Atlanta Housewives is one of the number one shows in reality television and it’s the number one show in the housewives’ franchise that’s on Bravo networks bring in over 1.3 million viewers an episode. This reality show is a step above the rest this is what we call classy and boujee. The top player on that show is well known Nene Leaks with her keeping it real ways she has landed jobs such as Glee, Celebrity Apprentice, Food Network and also did Broadway shows. This is a person that had no experience in any of these departments but yet landed gigs that qualified people has yet to do. Reality television open doors. Now for what we call the D lister Love and Hip Hop Hollywood and Atlanta. Because their behavior is so bad in order for you to receive an opportunity off of that show you exactly have to have a talent like K. Michelle. That show really helped her out only because her talent is singing and she is very well at it. These kind of shows send mixed signals to the world because these shows do whatever for ratings. This is the kind of show that gives reality television a bad name along with giving African Americans a bad name and keeping the culture under the world’s stereo type, that people have against African Americans. Social Media also plays a huge part in this because the cast plays off of social media and spends it to the reality show. This also hurt the uneducated followers that’s fails to realize it’s all just entertainment and a business to most.
Most of reality television is shown under a negative light because their story is supposed to be true or at least have some truth to it. However, sitcoms do not really receive that negative feedback because the viewers look at it as being scripted. For over six years Scandal has left everyone mind in the air and craving for an Olivia Pope to fix their real problems. Oliva Pope makes African American educated women feels good she allows one to feel a since of empowerment. As well as Grey’s Anatomy this show is good for potential doctors and nurses to encourage them that this same success can happen to them. It also helps people who already in that position see and for people like myself who not in that field you can give you an inside look.
The sitcoms that I have blogged about in this blog are positive and most may have some truth to them. This particular show Underground that has messages and lesson that’s still relevant and take place today whether or not the world wants to recognize it or not. Underground is a sitcom that comes on once the week and because it does not have the drama of the other shows it’s on a network that’s not really watched by the audience that needs to watch it. This is the kind of show that should be on Vh1, Bravo, ABC, NBC or Fox these are very popular networks for sitcoms and reality shows. Because this show is about salary and how African American people were being treated, and still treated like this today. Networks really don’t won’t to bring light to this situation again I believe some don’t want to correct or help correct this situation at hand. When Roots first came out it was on television and showed once the week now you can purchase it on dvd. However, with Roots being on television it did raise a lot of issues. This is a program that society can definitely benefit from and for all youth that doesn’t know of these history lesson they are allowed to watch them on television do to the fact that the school district has not took out African American studies and don’t study Black history month at all. The world glorifies all the wrong things when it comes to African American culture. But it’s a known proving fact that this culture is the trend sitter and the biggest consumers. However, African American’s are still not treated as equals the question is why? Is it because of the reality television? Is it because of our past that Underground and Roots displays? Whatever it maybe the world may never know I just wish people will respect African Americans the way they respect and except the culture.

Amy Response to Cloud Atlas
I agree that it was nice to see a woman of color play such a strong role when now roles that were meant to be played by people of color are now played by white actors. The connection to “yellow face” is something that can be frustrating to watch by someone like myself who enjoys watching movies and thinking of the realistic abilities and a person of color. I think with Hollywood’s decision to whitewash roles, it gives the message that people of color are not even qualified enough for roles meant for them. Now with people more aware than ever before, Hollywood still casts white actors for cultural roles. Asian characters is one of the most roles that I’ve seen portrayed by white actors followed by Black characters.  Emma Stone was written as an Asian woman for her film Aloha, and in Matt Damon’s new movie  he plays a warrior in China before the west settled. The film Exodus: Gods and Kings was set in early Egypt yet all the characters were European. Newer and more forms of entertainment are representing people of color. Televison shows like Fresh Off The Boat and Black-ish are just two shows that portray characters of color in a well-lit role played by the appropriate actors. The characters are not written in negatively (dumb, lazy, fat, poor) and are relatable to people of all races and still tackle the issue of “why roles written for people of color played by white actors”.
