On a spree on asking this- what do you think some of the characters you write for smell like?

What I think Slashers and Borderlands Characters smell like:

Thomas Hewitt: Sweat, Dirt, Blood.

I love Tommy, but this man looks stinky </3 he looks like what I smell like after a long day of hunting, tracking, and killing a deer which is no Bueno. Honestly, he looks like he smells worse. So I rate him 1/10. I do believe he would shower for you though.

Tiffany Valentine: Honey and Sweet Perfume.

Mommy 👁👁- I truly believe that she smells SO GOOD. Like bury my face in her skin good. She just looks like she takes good care of herself when it comes to appearance and she just smells yummy. She does smoke so there may be a faint cigarette smell to her, but I feel like her perfume over powers it, but in the best way. Not in a "I can't be around her because of how stronger her perfume is" way. I give her infinity/10. I want to smell her so bad.

Otis Driftwood: Blood, beer, and weed.

I truly think this man is as smelly as Thomas. He doesn't look like he takes care of himself too well when he is working on his projects. Though his hair did look fairly soft? Not too greasy? So he might shower and clean up fairly well when not working on his art. Homie reeks of weed and beer 24/7 though. I rate him 4/10. He's higher than Tommy because weed is a comfort smell of mine due to family smoking it a lot since I was small 💀👍

Baby Firefly: perfume, liquor, and weed

She takes more showers and uses more deodorant and perfume than Otis, though she still has a faint blood smell to her. She makes sure to clean herself up real well after her projects. Especially since she seems to lure a lot of people in. Can't be smelling like death if you wanna have more friends to torture. She also likes smelling good in general, but does smell like liquor and weed. I rate her 8/10.

Stu Macher: Cheap Cologne and Old Spice

I love Stu, but he buys the cheapest Cologne and Old Spice. I know he has money or whatever, but that doesn't stop this dingbat from acting like a highschool boy. I would eat up that smell though. All the hot guys in my area smell like this. 9/10

Billy Loomis: Leather, Cigarettes, and again... Cheap Cologne.

Homie smells like the bad boy type. Got the leather and cheap Cologne type smell going on. I feel like he steals Stu's Cologne because he likes the smell but is too lazy to go and buy his own lmao. 7/10 because I hate the smell of cigarettes.

Michael Myers: stanky. Death.

I feel like they didn't let him bathe in the institution so he just kind of lives his life smelling like death himself. Please, Mikey, take a shower. I will wash your hair for you. -2/10

RZ Myers: even worse than OG Mikey...

I love you RZ Myers, but Holy Jebus... have you ever seen a bar of soap? No? Fuck. Idk guys, he looks like a mess. Probably why I like him tbh. I would MAKE him shower. Idc if he tries to stab me. The STENCH of this man. How does he sneak up on people? -4/10

Bo Sinclair: Cologne, beer, and oil

Ugh he is such a comfort smell LMAO I associate him with the mechanic smell and my dad's and ex mechanic so Bo would be straight up nostalgic if I smelt him. I feel like he does take good care of himself. He seems like a tidy guy. Gotta smell good if you wanna keep tourists in town. 9/10 only because of the beer smell. I hate beer.

Vincent Sinclair: Cologne, burnt wax, maybe slight death lmao

He smells okay. It truly depends how his week is going. If he's lost in his art or not feeling the best mentally he may not shower as much as he should be. He does like keeping clean and smelling good, but damn. That's hard sometimes, y'know? He tried his best, but he doesn't smell horrible. 8/10, but he's a king so that's fine.

Lester Sinclair: Old Spice, but also B/O and Death.

I love Lester SO MUCH but FUCK he smells bad on his work days. I hc that he showers every night, but during the day that he's working he reeks. Not only is it hot as balls so he's sweating buckets, but he's also picking up dead roadkill so the stench just attaches to him. As a farm kid, if you're wet. From sweat, the hose, or even just from freshly taking a shower. That's when smells seem to leech onto you the most. I HATED taking care of hogs for that reason. 5/10 on his stinky days and 9/10 on his good days.

Brahms Heelshire: mold

I literally cannot explain it. He looked musty in the movie. I mean he lives in the wall... IN THE WALL. He has to have this musty old man smell that would have me scrubbing the house ceiling to floor and then dunking him in the tub. -10/10 because I am deathly allergic to mold.

Borderlands-

Mordecai: Rakk Ale, bird, and gun powder.

I love him, but he doesn't take care of himself well. (I could help him though...) he drinks all the time and his only friend is his bird so he's gotta be stinky. Like a bar and a zoo in one. Plus as a sniper he smells like metal and gun powder. 2/10 for Mordie Mom.

Scooter: Oil, Gasoline, anything related to Mechanics.

He is a Mechanic, in every game he is in he has a streak of oil on his face or SOMEHWERE on his person. He just looks like he'd smell like the mechanic shop. I love the little guy but he needs a bath. I would happily help him with one, too. 4/10.

Krieg: Death.

Literally nothing else. He is stinky and that's that. He knows it too. Part of him hates it, and the other half doesn't care because he's a psycho and all. I would help him with a shower if he asked. Or with just personal care, I feel so bad for the guy. 2/10

Rhys: Expensive Cologne and metal.

Idk, he just looks like these two things. I wanna stick my face in his neck and smell him though LMAO I love him so much(only without his weird mustache thing) but ugh I would again, just feed off of the Cologne smell this guy let off. 10/10

Brick: Sweat, Dirt, and guns

He is a stinky big man, but that's what makes him him. He is a bounty hunter and then pretty much a psycho leader thing after all. How is he supposed to regularly shower? He would if he was asked to by Tina or say you, but he doesn't do it a lot. Only because he's always on the move and it's so hard to. 4/10.

Moxxi: Alcohol, but also the sweetest Perfume

MOMMY- I mean... She smells very good. She has the bar stench that kind of lingers on her, but in the best way, y'know? It mixes with her perfume and she smells like Pandoras most intoxicating cocktail. Like you.could get drunk off of just her smells. I can see why Mordie and Jack aren't entirely over her tbh.

Zer0: leather and outdoors

This guy is so mysterious and I love them for it. I think they smell like leather due to their suit and also outdoorsy. Not in a stinky way, but like. He just smells like outside. Like he blends in with his surroundings, because he does.

The fabulous killjoys crushing headcanons! This is gonna be rough, this is my first attempt for writing MCR! Wish me luck!

Party Poison:

It’s hard to believe that he actually is crushing this hard on someone

It’s like a brick hit his head outta nowhere

He finds himself staring more than usual, asking to help you with things, letting you sit with him at the diner, etc.

He’s pretty overprotective, it’s so obvious but he thinks he’s being sooo sly

The others notice almost immediately

He tries his hardest to partner with you when going against BL/ind

Alwaysss is trying to impress you too

“ Yeah, ‘killed those Draculoids like it was nothing 😏 “

He’s such a dork, good luck

Jet Star:

The most subtle out of all of them

Whenever racing he always makes sure to sneak a peek at you

Calls you his, “ good luck charm.”

He only lets you mess with his hair, if you ask of course…

Constantly finding old car parts and scraps of metal, then gifting them to you

He gives you tips on how to better shoot your ray gun, and how to ride the motor-bikes

Calls you nicknames, all the nicknames

He’s clingy as heck but doesn’t show it

It’s kind of obvious but that’s not the point at the moment

When you two ride bikes, and your behind him, he will 100% put his helmet on your head and pat your head a bit to see if it fits

He does it everytime

Fun Ghoul:

The most obvious out of them all

Goes out of his way to show off and then fails pretty much all the time

Makes absolutely awful jokes but that’s the funny part about them

You’re basically his top priory now, and for him it’s hard to understand that

Like how he goes out of his way to make sure you’re safe when doing dangerous missions or fighting dangerous foes

Tends to your injures!

May or not make them worse, it’s a 50/50

Takes you on rides in the car when everybody is asleep, it could be risky but what life without some risk? Right?

That’s his way of thinking lol

Sits by you when listening to the radio, mocking Dr.Death when he says something weird

Unlike the others he has confronted the gang about this, but merely pushes it away as some platonic feeling

It’s not platonic

Idk when he’s gonna realize that but I hope it’s soon

Kobra Kid:

Kobra is the most quiet and reserved one when it comes to these feelings, he doesn’t tell a soul

When the gang is fighting and he’s about to do one of his martial art moves, he always checks to make sure you’re looking

If you’re not, then he gets super distracted

Lol

He probably asks you to go on bike after a long day

Poor guy gets stressed way too much lol

He likes training and may or may not like you to tag along as well

He would be way too happy if you joined him in his training

I hope you can mend clothes because this guy goes through gloves wayyy too quickly

He likes collecting old car stickers and sticks them to the car they all drive in

So if you find any and give them to him

Kobra Kid is now deceased

Brick:

First impression: big funny chara in a duo dynamic, possibly recurring rival? heart of gold. too brief an appearance. (tftbl is what opened the door to borderlands for me so ye ckxbdk)

Impression now: Best Big Boi. Heart of gold. He's as full of muscle as he is full of love. I'd die for him. For the love of god let him have a dog that lives.

Favorite moment: Ohhh too many god. Like all of the commander lilith dlc. The whole "no one's ever said that to me before...I LOVE YOU MAN!!" Just. All the moments. There's also some bits at the end of the normal story of BL2 that are gold bUT one's a dirty joke so im hushity.

Idea for a story: iii got a fic/animatic idea that's been bonking around in my head for a while. It's mostly story that fills in between the gaps of the first and second bl games.

Unpopular opinion: pfbbbtt i cant rlly think of one except that he, along with the rest of the original vault hunters don't get enough love in the fandom? Granted, that's been like. Changing lately with BL3 coming out n the new Commander Lilith DLC finally being enough of a push to get some folks in the fandom lovin him.

Favorite relationship: well, obviously i ship him and mordy, but that relationship being golden is a given, so imma say the paternal bond he's got developing with Tina bc it's so fucking wholesome and sweet and also rlly funny bc they are both balls of chaos.

Favorite headcanon: oohh there's a lot of good ones. but rn the fave i can think of atm is that he has an actual living dog in bl3 bc it's what he deserves and it could very well just be missing a leg. Let him have a dozen dogs or more plz. Let the puppers be bffs with Talon too.

Mordecai:

First impression: tall scrawny mc-pointy beardy guy in a funny lil duo dynamic. Thinks he's rlly cool, and sounds like he practices things he says to people to try and make other people think he's cool but he's wearing a blanket wrapped around him like a toga shirt thing does he have back problems wonder if that works. his interactions with muscle man are adorable and cute plz tell me we can see more of them this is too brief of an appearance come back. (again, tftbl was my intro to bl, so find my happy surprise that he n brick were in all the rest of the bl games cjxkcb)

Impression now: tired bird grandpa with a heart of gold. he's the sweetest, most caring lad. I stan him so much he's such a great dad, he deserves better im so happy he's recovering. i love his sense of humor. i love his birds. he deserves happiness and the world and his b team family. i love him i love him i love him i love h-

Favorite moment: uNGH all of them. He has so many good moments, in and outside of the games. But rn imma just say the whole of the Commander Lilith dlc bc that was chock-full of Grade A Mordy content, from sweet and wholesome to rlly funny.

Idea for a story: Aaaalll my fic/art/animatic ideas basically. im kind of a gremlin when it comes to my ideas for some reason, but like it's hard to explain them without basically infodumping a summary of some big fic idea i have. But uH ig with my latest lil art comic i did?? it def involves my idea with which Mordecai and Roland first encountering Tina when she was little bc Dad Time™️.

Unpopular opinion: iiiiii rlly am not a fan of how a lot of the fandom has basically stuck him with the personality of Old Drunk™️ bc uH. For one, he's not anymore. He's recovering. And two, he wasn't always like that and people need to take note that for the duration of the main BL2 storyline, he was at one of the lowest points of his life which led him into falling deeper and deeper into alcoholism and being actually rather out of character for himself. So like. Commander Lilith DLC was a good glimpse at Mordy being presented more in character than ever. Not the other way around.

Favorite relationship: Besides the obvious of him being married to Brick and being a dad to Tina bc i adore that a lot and they are def faves, i;;;; rlly love his bonds with Lilith and also esp Roland. Like,,,, outside of the game,, mordy n roland have had some adventures and how they click and connect with each other is rlly interesting and fun and also a big thing i wanted to explore in one of my bigger fic ideas cjdbfkfb.

Favorite headcanon: he's a great friggin dad?? but like. that's canon. i have. a lot of hcs for him. I'd have to make a whole ass post just for him with those tbh.

Tina:

First impression: gremlin child

Impression now: chaos with a heart of gold (yes they all have hearts of gold chdbdkb). she's been through a lot and the whole chaotic persona she's built up seems to be a way to cover up a lot of the pain and suffering she's gone through. iiiim hype she's teamed up with her dads and she better be mcfuckin having these parents stay alive or ill die.

Favorite moment: the whole of the Commander Lilith DLC, but also the butt stallion mission that led to the origins of bl3's b team.

Idea for a story: same fic ideas ive mentioned before cjfjxkcb

Unpopular opinion: i am definitely critical with how various aspects of her character are portrayed, but that's on bad/problematic writing on gearbox's part so i kinda just. ignore those. like im sure a lot of folks who enjoy her character do.

Favorite relationship: her and all of her dads. im a sucker for found family

Favorite headcanon: it was both roland and mordecai who first found her which is why after roland's passing that she's protective of mordy. bc it was only roland and mordecai who knew her full story and had been trying to fill in paternal roles for her after the trauma of what hyperion did. and like hell she's going to lose another parent again.

My friend headcanons that the godawful ‘tache is because he (and Brick!) lost a bet and tbh I wholeheartedly endorse that! (Also, please don’t abandon BL completely, I ADORE your rhack stuff! T.T)

Honestly if all the Rhys art from now on is just gonna be this butt ugly design I just can’t see myself enjoying it lol. The game will probably be fine but there’s just nothing really for me to personally enjoy anymore. I just don’t want people getting their hopes up for more fic when it seems very unlikely.

warning for lengthy post i guess because i have SO MANY THINGS I WANT TO SAY LBR.

headcanons:

- like firstly, i wanna say that i think yang is 100% reactionary, whereas reuenthal is 80%/20% split between action and reaction oriented. imo this is why yang just wants to drink tea and read books and ‘oh man can you just leave me along for a year or two so i can nap in a warm spot pls?’ (aka why he’s a lazy lil shit) so headcanon wise, this is why reuenthal always is the one to take initiative (otherwise, this ship never happens lmao)

- reuenthal is the one who falls in love first :DDDDD tbh, both reu and yang are emotionally/socially constipated in their own way, but imo reuenthal would be able to at least put a label on his ~emotions~ where yang would tend to ignore them casually 5eva if he could which brings me to point 3

- reuenthal ‘confesses’ first. i put ‘confesses’ in quotation marks because he’s tried every tried and tested method (although his previous conquests have been easy af because c’mon have you seen that boy’s face and his charm meter?) and yang’s like a brick wall when it comes to feelings. so it gets to a point where reuenthal’s probably given up with subtlety and just corners yang and kisses him a couple of times until yang finally, FINALLY gets the hint

- reuenthal is SUPER GOOD to yang (for him). like he’s a giant raging asshole to everyone, a complete and utter noble twat, except to mittermeyer (but he’s still an utter dick to him but mitter is 10000% used to him and is a giant troll back) and evangeline because she’s one of the few people he likes well enough. he’s terrible at feelings and conveying them, but to yang, he’s almost sweet (again, for him, which means he’s just vaguely not asshole-ish), which is terrifying in itself actually but yang 100% petty so it works out????

- PETTY YANG is my favourite thing lmao. like him throwing shade like no tmr just to disrupt reuenthal’s schedule to get back at some tiny thing he did wrong like three weeks ago LOL. pretending to sleep through planned dinner dates (or actually sleeping through them who knows) :DDDDDDDD

- both of them are RAGING ALCOHOLICS who keep raiding each other’s ‘private’ alcohol stash like a mini-competition (everyone wins because hey, alcohol gets drunk a lot & yang defs gets the better end of that deal because reuenthal can afford a whole lot of fancy shit and he keeps just secretly topping up his stash and leaving it around for yang to find okay he’s a good boyfriend)

- yang is LAZY AF, so he tends to let reuenthal get his way about most things (wink wonk). like that time where reu drags him into a vaguely roomy supply closet, or the time in yang’s office, or the time in reu’s office or those about sixty times where they almost get caught (reuenthal loves physical intimacy and yang ain’t saying no if you know what i mean ;D) they thoroughly scandalize everyone at least a couple of times until it becomes very much the norm lmao

- which means yes, i think reuenthal is ‘top’ and yang is ‘bottom’, but lbr, yang-uke is literally the cornerstone of every bl ship (and probably het ship too lmao) ever in this fandom i think (all the djs i’ve seen is telling me this okay)

- i have 100000 more, but i’m still working them out via fic so ;DDDDDDDDD

other characters:

- cazerne: thinks it’s the funniest shit ever. he is the troll older bro of the 13th fleet so reu/yang is a literal gold mine. he teases yang incessantly, first just to see him flush (that’s a new reaction!!!!), then he realises schonkopf goes red for another reason entirely …

- schonkopf: HATES REUENTHAL LIKE BURNING. tbh i reckon everyone, and i mean EVERYONE, at least has a semi-crush on yang. schonkopf aint any exception and he considers himself yang’s protector (added to the fact he’s also thrown down with reuenthal at some point and no one managed to come out of that on top and he swore that one day he’ll beat him) and now that sleazebag empire asshole has literally stolen yang from under his nose !!!!!??? (eventually though, he grudgingly accepts it, but still enjoys being a third wheel/chaperone whenever he wants)

- julian: totally 100% confused about it but awkwardly supportive because yang can do no wrong in his eyes. he’s wary around reuenthal, who is also wary around him, so they give each other a respectable space and reuenthal learns to drink black tea without complaint when julian serves it without asking and they eventually reuenthal learns how to make black tea acceptably enough that yang doesn’t wince when he drinks it. and they sometimes trade tips on how to get yang motivated enough to ~do stuff~ like his actual job but only the very G rated version because ‘ew gross that’s my guardian ok can u guys make out somewhere else pls’

- mittermeyer: like julian is utterly bemused about it and also very confused about it but okay reuenthal you do what you need to do OH GOD WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT I DIDN’T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT UR SEX LIFE OMG. and then proceeds to team up with schonkopf to troll the shit out of reuenthal for a good six months until reuenthal gets really mad and kidnaps yang for a good solid month long jaunt of debauchery off planet

- reinhardt: ANYTHING THAT BRINGS YANG TO THE SIDE OF THE EMPIRE IS GOOD. and then promptly realises that he’s run out of things to promote reuenthal up to

- kircheis: gives literally zero care, but supports it because reinhardt-sama does
