Kankri hadn’t expected David of all people to be the one to find him crying first.
Usually if Kankri was missing for more than a few minutes, Karkat would go looking for him.
Then again.... Karkat had his hands busy with the kids, making sure no one drowned during today’s swimming activity.
Kankri gave a little sniffle as he looked at David from his spot in the floor of the counselor's cabin, hair an absolute mess and falling in his eyes, and his phone still in his hand as he let out a shaky breath.
“H-he... H-he left me.”
That was all he managed to choke out before he felt his stomach knot up and tears burn at his eyes again, causing him to quickly hide his face in his knees once again and let out a shaky sob.
