Q. What’s a lesson you’ve learned so far on your entrepreneurial journey? A. The biggest lesson is you always play to win, rather than playing not to lose. This lesson is something that pushes our team to constantly think of news ideas to push our business forward. We challenge ourselves to be innovators and execute to our best potential. Because this business was bootstrapped in many ways, we have an existing business model which is only a Slice of the new model. Moving our business forward with a win-first mentality is what will continue to drive this business forward. Q. What advice do you have for entrepreneurs when facing adversity? A. For me, adversity is part of business, it’s part of what we do. Adversity excites me, that’s why you become an entrepreneur. Every moment of adversity is an opportunity to learn. If you expect to encounter adversity (you will), you’ll be prepared to handle whatever comes your way with an open mind and a positive mentality. Adversity is all about mental preparation.
