So our first official “Camping Made Easier” post is season appropriate.  A Bug Trap!  And this one is terrific!  We purchased the DynaTrap from QVC in the half acre size.  (There is also a full acre size if you want to pull double duty and use it for camping AND home). You can purchase this from other standard online retailers but we found that QVC’s price was the same and came with extra bulbs and a 90 day return policy.  We felt the return policy alone was awesome because that gave us the opportunity to try it for the entire summer and return it if we felt it didn’t help with the bugs and getting bit.  Luckily, we don’t need that option because it worked great! The first day we set it up at a campsite directly on the water (canal meets bay) there was nothing in the trap.  We were bummed.  When we went to bed we left it on as the instructions said to do AND when we woke up in the morning...WHOA!  It was 1/3 filled with all sorts of biting insects and other things we didn’t recognize that it had caught as well.  We left the DynaTrap on for our entire trip (5 days) and we didn’t get bit while at our site once.  But a short walk to the main area by the pool and playground and we were getting bit up pretty bad.  So we retreated to the comfort of our insect free area thanks to this awesome gadget.  So the BIG QUESTION that will be at the end of most all of our posts:  Is it worth the price?  (We paid approx. $100)  YES!  Quite a few of the places we camp are right on/near the water and also in the woods as most campgrounds are.  So not only will this do wonders during all our trips but we can also use it at home as well. This was definitely better than the old fashioned bug zapper we had previously tried and puts citronella candles to shame!
