I had an idea for a COTL AU in which the Lamb is a reincarnation of the original god of death, known as the Shepherd of Souls.

Ok so spoiler alert but I have no idea how to compose ideas into something coherent and have no idea how to really use Tumblr yet so read at your own risk LMAO anyway here's that au idea except Ive already started sketching out stuff for it(it's all wips/concepts so don't judge)

spoilers for Endgame after the cut and CW for messed up face and exposed muscle. Also this Lamb is named Ewein, I just really am not a fan of the name Lambert 🥲

so the AU is called A Heavenly Nightmare(aka what the fanfic would be called) and if you didn't see my earlier post this idea started with me thinking it was weird how all the bishops get their special little hell after the Lamb kills them but Nari doesn't get one after we beat him so i decided that joining the cult should be his purgatory HOWEVER purgatory is basically a permanent timeloop for the Bishops when we run into them so i tried figuring out how to make it work anddd Nari is the only bishop to have second phase(cause hes final boss but whatever) so in this au, when we beat his first phase thats when his purgatory offically "starts" but its messed up cause of course it is. Purgatory IS Nari's domain, he knows it better than anyone AND unlike the other bishops he had a Vessel so his power was divided and then the crown divided, creating "two Narinders", his Giant form and a smaller version(aka follower nari). The big one loses its powers, essentially falling into a kind of coma state and "piloting" follower Nari who retains part of his power while Ewein continues to hold the rest along with main control over the crown. Ewein spares Nari while unaware of the split however they hold absolutely but a lot of anger and a big ass grudge against him for demanding their sacrifice(spoiler its a narilamb au LOL) but Nari's new body cant handle his powers and ends up in a similar state to his original body aka catatonic and stuck in nightmare like situations that turn purgatory into warped versions of the cult and a lamb who keeps killing him so when Ewein eventually rescue Aym and Baal, they explain whats really happening and Ewein has to learn to control their own godhood in order to help a god who they think is getting what he deserves while also having strange dreams about Nari and killing him. It's gonna take them a long time before they even realize that they can talk to him...

this is just like a general idea but ya

also this last wip is Ewein finding big Nari with the help of Aym and Baal who are kinda more like spirits after Ewein kills them the first time? almost like the little demon versions of followers but look like themselves. idk theyre just stuck in the afterlife til Ewein gets the necklaces and can revive them but they can touch them and stuff during that sketched scene

Some highlights of my relics of the old faith experience.

In the scorching desert of the Sweltersands, live the gazelles. Where they have forever lived in fear. As they have always been the favorite food of the divine ruler of the desert, Cobraia the Great Snake. For as long as any can remember the gazelles lived in Cobraia's land, forced to reproduce constantly, and never allowed to leave. Till either they were old enough or Cobraia's craving was strong enough. A select few were to be devoured, and the gazelles feared it above all else.

One young gazelle however had had enough of Cobraia's tyranny. The Gazelle having heard from Cobraia's followers, the tales of the Lamb. They sought the Lamb's aid in freeing the gazelles forever. However Cobraia was prepared for the Lamb's potential arrival. For she possessed something of great significance. Which would never allow the Lamb to come near her, nor harm her. But the Gazelle was not the Lamb. The Gazelle pleaded for power like the Lamb's. In return they would not only loyally follow the Cult of the Lamb, but spread the Cult through the Sweltersands. Through a carefully practiced ritual similar to that which created the Goat. A crown copy was bestowed to the Gazelle. Now wielding power similar to the Lamb, their power only becomes greater as their and others' devotion grows for the Lamb. After all, the Gazelle's crown is merely an extension of the Lamb's Red Crown. Now the Gazelle, missionary of the Lamb, Liberator of their kind, and leader of the Lamb's Cult in the Sweltersands. Will journey though the scorching desert, recruit all new followers, and finally take the gluttonous Cobraia down for good.

I��d like to think since the Goat has a purple crown identical the Red Crown. Maybe its power could be copied and divided for the number of the Bishops of the Old Faith. The Lamb being the leader with the main crown, the Goat has a purple copy (purple like Shamura), the Gazelle has a yellow copy (yellow like Heket), and other bovine missionary follower recruits get their own copies (reflecting the rest).

I based some of the Gazelle off the Lamb concept designs. Hey, the Goat came from them too.

Close ups:

Overgrown tree slug- very slow moving, branchy, since the Camellia Flowers having healing properties seems pretty powerful and exclusive to the Darkwood, I like the idea that they stem from Leshy themself- Well I’d say everything in that woods connects to Leshy- Roots and all!

Plus it’s a cool idea that, despite no eyes, they can literally see everything the roots are connected to! Like a hive mind!

She consumes all and you will become apart of her loving embrace. With her main thing being Fertility and Famine, the more she consumes, the more power she gives out, so sacrifices are far too frequent in her cult. It also leans into being greedy and it never being enough.

Despite a lack of voice and throat, the followers consumed into her act as her voice, speaking over the gravelly and choked sounds of her gargled speech.

Slinky looking octopuss- (is it really an octopus if the tentacles are endless?) I wanted to give Kalamar looks that could camouflage with his surroundings and a build that can squeeze and hide anywhere. I also just really like the idea that he keeps everything under the cloak with the tentacles, and it’s actually endless- pulls out random shit like it’s Dora’s backpack-

Kallamar would be able to hear all through being in tune with the waters around them, outstretching their endless tentacles into the waters waiting for all the little vibrations and tremors.

I actually really don’t like Shamuras design in the game and I don’t like it any much more now- My main issue was that it didn’t look too spider like, but then again, it’s difficult without going full monster goober-

Shamura doesn’t use cheap web tricks or tactics to win, they are a brutal war machine and is known to be headstrong and stubborn. With their mind removed, they have very little logic behind their warpath, but the relentless power is one to be feared.
